Bowie is definitely an undisputed music legend. If you are a Bowie fan I highly recommend Beside Bowie: the Mick Ronson Story. Mick was instrumental in arranging the Spiders from Mars tracks which helped launch DB to super stardom. Sadly he was discarded after the first tour and, like many supporting musicians, Mick died largely unknown and broke despite his contribution to creating a mega-superstar (and several others after DB). Irrespective of the "credit where credit is due debate", this is a great documentary of David Bowie and his cast of characters.

I’ve been to almost 170 concerts between 1976 and today. I’ve seen the Grateful Dead 50 times, Paul NcCartney 9 times, Springsteen 9 times, Van Morrison 7 times, Bruce Hornsby 7 times, CSN 6 times, Elton John 6 times, Billy Joel 6 times, Neil Young 5 times, etc. sir Elton was my first show on August 15, 1976 and that show served as the foundation for my book about all my concert experiences, entitled “TEN RULES OF THE ROAD I LEARNED AT MY FIRST CONCERT: AN ORDINARY GUY’S LIFETIME OF LIVE ROCK & ROLL”. Give this a read. If 1/4 of the incidents listed are true, he was a monster. And I'm sorry "He was homesick" is not an acceptable excuse. https://www.amazon.com/Beast-John-Bonham-Rise-Zeppelin/dp/0306846683
I couldn’t go to Wings Over America shows on NYC because I was a junior in high school And the show was on a school night. So I finally went to my first concert a few months later - Elton John at Madison Square Garden on August 15, 1976! And that show served as the foundation For my self published book - Ten Rules Of The Road I Learned At My First Concert: An Ordinary Guy’s Lifetime of Lifetime Of Live Rock & Roll. Also, try this list for a start on the genre :)
Still reading this biography by Alice Cooper's first and greatest manager. Great rock and roll stories. He started out in LA at the same hotel where Hendrix, Janis Joplin and other rockers stayed when not on the road. Shep Gordon is a rock legend. I think there's a WTF podcast with him as a guest. I got the e-book through my local library and it's a fun read about the time before rock became corporate. Also great title.

Actually Stevie Wonder and his ex-wife wrote the tune. They did it together on her album Stevie Wonder presents Syreeta. This song begins the 2nd side of the disc which is about their relationship. Jeff's version is beautiful.
