People are saying it's dead on Xbox One, but I haven't personally had an issue. Granted I may be playing at different times, and timing definitely makes a difference. PS4 will always be more busy to some extent due to that being the chosen console this generation of the FGC. Most competitive players will be on ps4, and any events that happen are usually pretty exclusive to PS4 (any online tournaments, popular streams, etc.)
All of that aside, the gameplay itself is solid, but the story is meh, as has been said. As has also been said, I highly recommend checking out Core Fighters to get a feel for the game and see if you like it. You can also just stick with that version and buy 1 or 2 characters if you don't feel like shelling out for the whole game. Tag battles are not in the game. There is speculation that they may add them back but there is absolutely no confirmation of that at this moment.
Overall, especially with the improvements they've made by now, the game is pretty solid, but I wouldn't really do it for a single player experience. The fun is in learning the characters and using them effectively imo, and challenging yourself against other players.
If you don't mind a physical version, the full game is currently on sale on Amazon, which I believe is the cheapest you'll find it at around $40.
I do overall recommend PS4.
This is the version you're looking for, it’s equivalent to the disc version in stores, which you could probably find cheaper tbh. Yeah, the disc version is currently $24.17 on Amazon here. Unfortunately, these do not include the more recent DLC characters. There is no bundle with literally every character as far as I'm aware. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Defintely up there. I really hope whenever we get the next DOA title, they look back at the older titles and get most of the costumes back. There are quite a few that showed up in 3 and 4 that just seem to have disappeared now. Like Hitomis jeans and jacket combo that was in 5, but then they scrapped the jacket for 6...
Wouldnt mind seeing more DOA figures. I have a figure of Ayane in her Ninja Gaiden outfit boxed up somewhere.
Sounds nice and all, but Eat The Rich (or at least the Get A Grip album) was only out 4 years before DOA 4.
The other problem is HOW the tracks play into the themes of the story. So, is Alpha-152 supposed to be evil because of capitalism or something (and Helena AND Kokoro's mom, by proxy)?
As a fan of true gender equality (i.e., trying to keep men and women at a physical AND mental equilibrium), you're absolutely correct. Team Ninja must've had a hard time trying to understand what the Day-1 OG community really wants and thus were more willing to appeal to newbies (and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't), but at the end of the day, the West mostly drowned it out with Halo 4, Black Ops 2 and Far Cry 3, which all had subject matter western games like myself were interested in (RIP Halo 4 multiplayer), whereas DOA 5 isn't anything my friends or family talk about unprovoked. So, I'm having trouble trying to juggle the existing Japanese community and trying to help them remain interested in the bigger industry as much as theirs with the chance to probably get someone interested in Itagaki's portfolio through just one game without trying to mandate them into buying anything else in the franchise if they don't want to. So, if history has proven anything, the West is going to keep stealing the Japanese's thunder (and they're aware of that) unless an Elden Ring-esque situation happens where they add something new to the table. But, I don't see how global trade should regulate demographics (if Halo Infinite's campaign is anything to go by). So, it's a lot of miscommunication and negative circumstances that aren't limited to the press.
You could try looking into a mayflash adapter. The one I have is called the Magic S-Pro Wireless Bluetooth Controller Adapter Converter. I used it to use my normally unsupported 8BitDo arcade stick on my PS4. It supports a good range of controllers, but you can look into it for your use case. I do know that it can make an Xbox series controller work on PS4 as I can make that work right now. It is listed to support the Xbox One controller as well, so you should be good.
You can use the adapter with a wire, or with bluetooth. It can also support some other controller adapters, but you can look into that if you need it.
As for latency, I don't perceive any, even when playing with bluetooth. At the very least it doesn't bother me (if it's actually detectable).
Here is the US amazon link if that helps: Magic-S Pro
Hope this helps
I'm kind of disappointed in GMG, but you can read some of the dumpster fire here.
You may have to scroll a bit to get the discussions to load.
Don't know about this one. I don't encounter this bug with my GTX 1060 6GB. Might have to check with GPU setting that control specific app like Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Catalyst that forces full screen. Maybe you can try "Borderless Gaming" software, if it helps, since the software can eliminate the window borders and make the specific app to go full screen, fitting the whole display. https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
Uh... have you tried searching the internet for the answer to this question?

In case you have a PS4, you can buy a Brook Converter (available on Amazon etc) that lets you use the PS3 stick for PS4. They are even used in tournaments and introduce virtually no input lag. Example: https://www.amazon.com/Deal4GO-Converter-Controller-Adapter-Joystick/dp/B07K7KJCST
I used NordVPN (not free sadly, but a million times better when it comes to region unblocking for streaming sites etc.) and installed it over the steamdb link, if that doesn't work anymore I don't know either
I can do you one better
The only catch is that these are the standard editions, but if you're not looking for the extras they're solidly priced at $40, which is about 35% off.
