I had an issue like this in the past, it’s really fishy and probably a scam I wound up just blocking them. It was concerning decorations too.. which is weird. The first issue is they ask for your email. If they want to send you pictures they can easily use a free image hosting site to just send you links ie: imgbb

Just had this showerthought idea of what if an old smartphone could be a screencast mirror. Turns out there's already an app
Hi! I had the same problem with not being able to receive payments, what I had to do was get a Simple ( https://www.simple.com/ ) online bank account and connect it to my Paypal, so that my paypal would be verified. Hope this helps.
these photos look nice! maybe play around with poses/close ups! you only have 4 photos & should aim to have a picture of the front, back, and something fun (usually eye catching for the cover). some other good pictures to take for knitted items are close ups of the fabric/knit, maybe the side (depending on if it helps show the detail or fit of something), and any cute details on the items. it is important to display how the item looks naturally and i think these pictures do that well. try looking around depop for users that model their own clothes and pay attention to their poses. if you see any that you like or that catch your attention, use them! you can always check out pinterest to find ones you like as well. a good general rule i use is, the more chaotic the item, the more simple of a background. The first one would look great with a pink background (perhaps the shade of pink in the knit to match) you can do this easily on https://www.remove.bg/ for free! I have found that if you have a space indoor with decent natural light, it is more reliable than outdoor backgrounds, and you can always add a potted plant/hold a prop to make it more interesting. a little detail around you is always nice! i have heard from others, and also agree, that anything too chaotic/inconsistent can make a seller's page less pleasant to scroll through. greenery is good, but don't go overboard. i've seen similar sellers use solid color backgrounds and add little "aesthetic" stickers around the item (you can do this is an app like picsart, which i recommend). if editing isn't your thing, i totally think you could work with the background you already have! hope this helped & i wish your shop success!! these pieces are so cute :)

There you go! There’s a lot of these backgrounds on amazon. It’s not super thick but it’s definitely opaque enough where items behind it don’t show through
The background is consistent, the theme is consistent, and there is a clear aesthetic to your shop ❤️. To create more of an aesthetic regarding photo filters, you should look into buying a filter for cheap on sites like Creative Market, and apply to all photos in your feed, so the editing looks more consistent like this.
Posing in photos usually gets more sales since buyers feel more engaged, and when you try the item on, you can see how the item looks when in use which is something that flatlays don't really capture. To create an aesthetic, you can just create your own photo filter or buy your own for cheap on sites like Creative Market, and apply to all photos in your feed, so it looks consistent like this.
I recommend using the nextdoor.com or your local FB groups and asking if any of your neighbors have some old boxes or amazon packages they wouldn't mind giving to you! One of my neighbors just brought me over a huge bag of amazon mailers he was going to recycle and left them at my door step :)
Removebg - So this is a free tool that uses machine learning to automatically remove backgrounds, all you have to do is upload your picture
The downside is that the image quality is good but not great. Though I still think it looks fine especially for depop and it is certainly better than fiddling with the
Gonna be honest with you, I think the stuff you are selling only caters to a very specific audience. If you want tips on trendy look at what stores like forever21, urban outfitters and pacsun are selling.
But do not fret! There is hope for you! I was recently reading some statistics about Depop(because I’m a huge nerd) and apparently 90% of depop users are under the age of 26 years old.
I looked at your shop and I see most stuff doesn’t have brands that depop has as part of the filter thing. This means that the stuff you’re selling becomes harder to find because it’s not going to come up if you search for a brand. My advice to you is to find stuff that’s of a good brand. If you thrift for your clothes then maybe some Levi’s, forever21 stuff, American eagle stuff could bring traffic to your store. As far as lighting in the pics goes I think it looks acceptable, it is a little dark but if there’s genuinely nothing you can do about it then that’s it. Maybe taking flat pictures of some items and modeling others could add a nice variety to the pictures? I’m not sure. You could also try to use background removers to remove the backs of your pics and make them pop a little more!
Good luck!
From my experience, I think the Canva app is perfect for this kind of work, especially for removing backgrounds from images,
well anyway .. just go to canva.com, sign up for a trial, then you can decide if it's perfect for you or not,
and if you have any problems or doubts and want to learn more about Canva, you can check out this tutorial on removing backgrounds from images with top apps (including Canva)
Yea aha I realized after, should've probably edited my comment lol.
I actually made a thing which just interfaces with depop a while back. It used a virtual android device to run commands from python using adbutils (python module) and http://appium.io/ to select specific parts of the screen by id which actually worked reasonably well and could list items automatically which was quite cool. If you are looking for something still, perhaps this would work.

I use this box light from amazon that’s really affordable and works really well during the day and pretty well at night if you absolutely need to take pics at night
Easy to set up, you can adjust the angle left and right as well as up and down and the tripod it’s on can be adjusted in height as well. Plus comes with a bag for easy storage if you don’t want it out 24/7
I personally use soft box lighting from amazon and ive just checked and you can buy it for £48, plenty of 5 star reviews too!

I use a kitchen weighing scale, it weighs up to 11 pounds! I purchased it at target for $15 I believe, but since there are no targets in the UK you could probably find one online!
Here is one from amazon!
Hope that helps ((:
