It seems people who are hesitant on purchasing the season pass are unaware that Horizons isn't just "landing on planets." They think "Oh, all I do is land on planets and shoot some rocks, eh, anything else?"

You get Planetary Landings (which is much more than just shooting rocks) Engineers, (and the future updates included in the pass:) Multi Crew, Deployable Fighters, and mystery fifth update/character creator.

It's definitley worth it. No fault on you, or other players. Really wish they advertised this info a bit better. I guess they do this near the end of the description in the Xbox Store, but it's quite vague saying "Elite Dangerous will continue to add new features and gameplay as the season continues."

Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is a great tie in. Game wise, mix it up with other stuff since time constraints do not appear to be a thing.

Audible also has Elite Dangerous titles. Drew wagar, Reclamation. Kate Russell, Almost Harmless is quite good.

The 2.2 update is part of the Horizons season. So if you have Horizons you'll get that too. Some of the 2.2 update is also for the base game (season 1). See here.

You can take a screenshot with your xbox. Double tap the home button, then hit the Y button to take a screenshot. Then you go into the "UPLOAD" app and save it to the OneDrive

I noticed the countdown stopped at 35 seconds once I entered the station and then received an extra 7 minutes of Oxygen in which to repair.

Yup, I've got this set as my background...unfortunately it looks darker and a lot less vibrant in the video, but I seriously sat and stared at this view of Neptune for like 15 minutes.

I'm currently 598ly away from civilization. It is definitely creepy to think about and I have also been strangely freaked out by the vastness of space. I think it speaks to the immersion the game offers. Btw... this moment really freaked me out. I could see the system I was headed to out my window but I suffocated instead in space. You can see me panicking and looking around trying to figure out the game. I didn't realize you use fuel for everything!

Get a inexpensive USB keyboard and just plug it into your XB1. That's what I do. For this application, even a dirt cheap $8 one will work fine. i f you take this or /u/Syronimus 's similar advice, keep in mind the XB1 recognizes common windows keyboard shortcuts like "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" for copying and pasting text, respectively. That helps when you keep having to type things like "Col 285 Sector".

I just got a new chair a few weeks ago, and luckily the armrests go up and down quite a bit, so I should be able to lower them to accommodate a table. It's the rest of my room that is small!

Answer: Short answer: yes

Long answer: The headphones come with a USB receiver and an optical cable that plug into the console. The Xbox one and original PS4 have optical slots but the PS4 slim does NOT have one. The headphones come with a small and easy to follow instruction booklet to help with the set up.

I bought mine solely for ED as the sound design is so good. Makes it much more emmersive and actually very useful for exploring as you can identify planet types on the system map by the way they "sing" - I've got a pair of these as they sound great and don't look utterly retarded like most. Thoroughly recommend them. Although listening to yourself running out of air is unnerving as hell

Get one of those baby corral things that are 6 or so pieces on hinges, and then put that in front of your TV. I put a couple of eye screws into the halfwall on the right to anchor that side, and what's not shown in the picture on the left is a coffee/side table thing where I anchored the other side. Older/taller kids like my three year old can reach over the gate and touch the TV, but they can't get into the components underneath while the holes in the gate allow IR in and heat out.
