They just didn't care to patch it out so they removed it. You can buy the game for Steam via Amazon, or you could just pirate it off of uTorrent or something similar. I personally bought it on Steam through Amazon, but when I went to purchase page, it said that the game is no longer available so pirating the game is the only way you can get it now. Can't get 2 on anything but xbox. I got 3 on pc from amazon. A Fable 3 key can be bought properly from Amazon US, and this guide can be followed for getting it to work. As others have said, Fable 2 can be emulated and played all the way through but it won't be a smooth experience.

You can play fable 3 natively on PC (albeit some hoops to jump through), OR play fable 2 and 3 on xbox game pass ultimate (cloud streaming) OR play fable 2 and 3 through Xenia emulation (which I know very little about). Sadly Fable 2 never got a steam release so it is unavailable there.

Even though I essentially played all 3 games in reverse order, I would suggest playing them in normal order (Anniversary, 2, 3).
Fable 2 is not on steam while Fable 3 is (albeit delisted).

Your other option is to get a game pass ultimate subscription which to the best of my knowledge, is on sale for $1/month and then reoccurred billing if left on. All 3 Fable games are able to be played via Xbox Cloud streaming although I wasn't too impressed myself with it. I think cloud gaming in general has a long ways to go.
I'm sorry the books you want only come in digital versions
But there are physical books for other Fable books
Not sure where you based but Amazon still has some digital copies for steam. I think there US only though. Also fuck Amazon but seems to be one of the only ways to get the game on pc.

no you cant find it on steam, however you can get it on Amazon (if in the US) and activate it on steam.... i can personally vouch for 3 copies sold from here being ligit ( i bought 2 (for myself and a friend) and another friend bought 1,
only issue is if you want the Free DLC you have to disable GFWL, and id if you want multiplayer you have to install a specific version of it... cant have both

This is not a pre owned version… this is a legit key that you get for steam. I’m not sure where you were looking exactly but this is what I am referring too. I’m only recommending it because I have bought this item.

And that works fine, but the issue is you have to do a work around for the windows live online since its no longer available. The comments on that Amazon page actually has a tutorial for this.
This code can be activated on steam: Amazon . I've done it twice. You have to jump through some hoops but co op still works in 2019. Unfortunately the DLC can no longer be purchased but they can be acquired elsewhere.
I've also had success running it on Linux via Proton, after I placed an Windows Live crack in the games folder.
I got introduced to fable TLC on Mac. Theyre selling it on Amazon. However it won’t be the updated graphics as Fable Anniversary wasn’t released on Mac. And you might need to get a CD reader as most modern Macs don’t have them. Hope this helps.

This is the only way to BUY the game for PC as of right now. As for DLC, that you have to pirate for it no longer is buyable.
I grabbed a game code as soon as I found out they weren't making them anymore, then found a shitload of links from some Russian guy to the Steam pages for all of the DLCs that weren't actually taken down yet, but just hidden.
Since there's a finite number of keys for these things, I'm suspecting they're all gone. I know the links I used to get the DLC are.

You can buy the download code off Amazon and install it on steam. It's the only way to still play online. I had the torrent version but it bypasses GFWL so I couldn't co-op. Pretty straight forward.

Here's fable 3, the code works on steam. You need to download games for Windows live and it's annoying to get it to work with steam, but once you do you're good. Also, the dlc codes you will be given in steam only work in game.
