It doesn’t look like the balanced output is a multi-function port that doubles as line-out. You’d be double amping the signal if you did do this though, which may cause excessive distortion.
The 3.5mm port does function as a line-out though, so you can use a 3.5mm to dual RCA interconnect to use the Q1 as a DAC and the Zen Can as an amplifier. Here’s an example
I've never tried it myself, but it seems like you would need a cable like this. Does your receiver have a digital coax in? Hope it helps!
$16, should be good, right?
Should be, I mean it will work, but in doing so must convert all analog signals to 48kHz (according to that listing).
Playing 48kHz music or video+audio stuff should be smooth sailing, but I don’t know if it’s going to be “audiophile level precision” when it comes to feeding it something of lower or higher sample rate than it outputs, then sending that over Bluetooth.
Maybe I wouldn’t be able to hear the difference, but it would bug me slightly.
You need this:
Currently the best and cheapest solution unless you have an old dac you can move the signal through optical to the k7.
Oh. I'm sorry i have no experience with the Fiio IEM's you listed.
But, i would still recommend the app "USB Audio Player Pro" available on Google Playstore (8$). It has a built in Graphic & Parametric EQ, and you can stream Tidal within the APP (note that you cannot download tracks from Tidal for Offline listening).

If you do want to go for an IEM ~~upgrade~~ Sidegrade, I would recommend the Fiio FH3 Eclipse ^((I solely recommend this because it is tuned by Crinacle, i personally find Crinacle's audio reviews trustworthy, that is to say that his views and mine align for the iem's i have owned))
thanks for your help, I took this one "Douk Audio USB Converter XMOS XU208 Digital Interface TOSLINK Coaxial DOP SPDIF Adapter DSD64 PCM192Khz" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085XPRSGM/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_CW380C1YB7Q7DBR2R2NX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and it works great.
If you don't have optical output you need an adapter rather than a cable.
There are HDMI to HDMI+optical audio adapters, that might be a good idea. The only thing I'd be concerned about is how these might handle your just wanting to use the audio and not the video. I don't know. I suspect it could work, you could tell it you don't want the video but just the audio.
Most commonly people use USB-optical adapters. These appear like a USB sound card and output toslink. But maybe the HDMI to optical would be cheaper. If you only need 44.1/16 (no Hi Res) maybe cheaper. I know people use the Douk Audio U2 with the BTA30, but it's $54. This supports Hi-Res.
Reiyin have a cheaper one, I think around $25 but currently unavailable on Amazon. I was looking at this before. Also does Hi-Res.
https://www.amazon.com/Reiyin-Digital-Converter-Adapter-Optical/dp/B077D4GDPF
There seem to be HDMI to optical adapters for much less but no idea how well they work. They are cheap enough you could just try though.
The cables you list presume you already have a toslink output, which you say you don't, so you would need to get that. Mini Toslink I think is when you have a combo 3.5mm analog copper output which also does Toslink, that's what that cable does.
When you get an adapter you'd just want a regular Toslink to Toslink cable, get the cheapest possible, it makes no difference. Mine cost under $1.
Note all of this is if you have the non-pro version. The Pro version supports LDAC transmission from USB.
That does sound like a ground loop.
BTR3K does support mic from a headset but I think only in Bluetooth mode. It may be possible to send the mic bit over Bluetooth
You can get USB ground loop isolators. You'd plug this between the PC and the BTR3K. They can be expensive though, like as much as the BTR3K. iFi and Audioquest have devices for $59-69. There may be cheaper options though.
There are also 3.5mm audio ground loop isolators, these might work. Some reviews say they degrade the audio signal, so maybe put it on the microphone if you care less about that (if it will work on the microphone).

I found this on Amazon but I haven’t bought it yet: USB C DAC OTG Cable 0.5ft/15cm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KLXYQDH/
This is the one I have and was talking about here though: https://www.linsoul.com/products/ddhifi-tc28i
u/Fabulous-Parfait-566 u/vext01 I ended up using Poweramp, a 3rd party music player. Here is the link to their site https://powerampapp.com/
I did not compare their power consumption so I do not have an answer at this moment though.
(By SoC I meant the chip, or the CPU if you prefer.)
Download the APK from here, copy it to your player's storage, and then from the file manager app click on the .apk file, and it will be installed. Then you can set it as your default home application.
Ayyyy. Just ordered, been keeping an eye on Amazon for these to pop up.

Try SpinFit CP100 eartips in your size. They have made IEM fit better for me. If that doesn’t fix it, then these IEM might not be for you.
I use this one which I got from a post which I forgot if from reddit or some other forums.

It's just a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver.....and I'm using the optical out from my PC sound card to this. I can't find the exact device on Amazon anymore but here is something almost identical.

I thought id link my fav cd ripping software in case you go that route. http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
To put files on your fiio just browse through your i tunes folder until you see the artist folders and just copy all the folders onto a micro sd card it plays all formats pretty much so it should work with apple files.
I have an M6 and I recommend MusicBee on my PC to organize things and make playlists.
It also depends on what software player you're using on the M6 itself. The native Fiio player requires you to go through some hoops to import .M3U playlists. But you can install other players from the Fiio website. You can technically install any APK software from places like APKPure.com, but the M6 is pretty underpowered, so you're better off getting the versions that are specifically tuned for the M6 from the Fiio web site.
My favourite player, Musicolet, allows you to import the M3U playlists one by one. It's a big of an annoyance, but you only have to do it once per list. My second favourite player, Media Monkey, imports them automatically.
This has up to 2TB:
I've never known a FIIO player to have a song limit, although I've had several where the more songs you have, the slower the player can be when it's either reading tracks when you first load them, or if you are loading a large playlist. So I don't know. I've never used the m3k.
This would work, i also have BTR5, but i have a cheaper one
I ordered it from Amazon. Here's a link:

Sadly, BTA30 do not have a headphone out. You will need a separate headphone amplifier to use with the BTA30. You can connect it using the RCA Cables.
Something like iFi Zen CAN.
When I ordered the official leather cover I was disappointed it had no clip. I bought this from Amazon and now I clip it on my collar.
FYI the leather cover also doesn't have a top strap to secure the BTR5 but I loop a hair tie from the tops to the clip and it's now very secure.
Okay I did all these things even plugged it directly doesn't show up but my fiio q1 mark 2 does show up if I plug it in also the pop issue seems to happen alot less over the past 2 days still happens but only for a split second and won't happen for a while after
So idk if you'd be able to help me with this but
If I use this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085XPRSGM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_H2TPPEVKN9EAQW0YR0SF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And connect it to the fiio bta30 via coaxial will I be able to to control the volume knob on the unit?
Given there's already multiple comments telling you to just drag and drop via a file manager, with the SD cards mounted via your player...
I'll say hell yes you need a card reader.
This is literally from FiiO: The read/write speed of the M11 is about 12M/s generally .
I just bought an inexpensive Insignia USB 3.0 Card reader from best buy, see same item here. It may not be the fastest card reader out there, but for little more than $20, your time transferring upwards of 400GB is going to be IMMENSELY improved.
The product comes with all the needed hardware. I have been using one of those flexi bands provided to hold both together. I wonder why are there no cases for this in the market yet. Lightning to usb c plugged into the Q3 with a 3.5 to 2.5mm Bose aux cable. The one from the QC35 box may be a bit short in length for choice. This is the only thing I had to buy.
From a software perspective I went with the most convenient one, Amazon. There are Tidal as service, and Onkyo as player app- lots of web services to buy music from.
I had read that the QC35's cable performance is not that good. Definitely worth looking for a set of proper headphones. I like the way it sounds now, but it can surely be upped further by some more gears.
I used Total Commander, since it's the file manager that I use normally.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ghisler.android.TotalCommander
There are other ways to back up your installed apks, but this didn't require me to install anything extra.
Total Commander has the option on its home screen to browse installed apps. Scroll down until you find the Poweramp unlocker, select it and copy it to another folder. Transfer that to your other device along with the Poweramp installer. Install Poweramp, then the unlocker. Works great for me on my M7, even without any google services.
I just received my FH7 yesterday and I'm loving them. But I also don't like using rubber tips, i can never find the right fit and they usually always slip off just by walking around lol. I've used cheap memory foam tips for years and I tried a pair today and they fit perfectly on the FH7's and they're staying in my ears without any problems. The ones I use are super cheap too. It's $6 for 6 pairs lol https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0763J8RR2/ref=cm_sw_r_sm_apa_i_9kq-FbVRKN7FZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I recently got the FiiO M11. It’s awesome. You can also install the Google Play Store, so you can get any music player you want. Google Play Store Install Instructions.
I am not a fan of the stock FiiO music app. I like USB Audio Player PRO.
I just found out that BlackPlayer EX works with Chromecast. You can install the Google Play Store using official instructions and then download BlackPlayer EX.
The soundcore space nc has a 3.5mm port on it. You could use a 3.5mm male to male cable and use it to get your headphones working with the BTR5. You can probably find a local shop that sells the cable needed. The Soundcore life 2 seems to be bluetooth only.
Thank you! Here is the amp I am talking about. I am more afraid about specs match.
I am by no means a cable expert, i believe we cannot hear the difference between different cable types (copper, silver etc.).

this is the cable i bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KW33ZH7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Online reviewers have used the 100$ version of this cable with more strands, i decided i will try the 50$ version with fewer strands (wires). honestly, its not about the number of wires, its the power input increase using balanced that opens up the earphones. my BTR5 outputs 240mW per channel on balanced (compared to 70 on unbalanced normal ~~channels~~ Cables), so it makes the FH7 noticeably faster thereby flattens out the frequency response, and everything is more punchier.

just also note that i bought a 20-30$ balanced cable from linsoul, but it was defective on one side.
BTR5 is a BT/USB DAC. It it converts the digital audio received from BT or USB to analog.
You cannot transmit a BT audio with it.
The main purpose of the BTR5 (highlighted almost everywhere) is to convert a wired headphone to wireless. Your Sony WH-1000XM3 is already wireless so a BTR5 is useless with it.
If you want to transmit audio to your WH-1000XM3 (or BTR5) via your PC, check out BT Audio transmitters like Avantree DG80. This will only do USB audio (pretty well), or generic CSR4.0 BT dongles. Both dongles will do aptX, but the Avantree one presents itself as a USB DAC while the generic dongle will present as a BT adapter. No LDAC on Windows yet.
Thanks mate! That's not really what I was looking for, but the suggestions on the link you sent me led me to this

which is perfect!
