I know for a fact you’re lying. A quick 2 minute search on Amazon and I found the only clothing you could need for the rest of your life.
Question comes up every year.
Drop some money and get this bad boy
And cool down your basement beforehand. It should be an icebox before people get in there.
Stop letting large people down there as well. They create a lot of heat.

> Colored lights, nothing makes a party feel cooler than dope ass strobes / lasers / led lights. There’s plenty you can find on amazon that aren’t too expensive and can set a serious vibe >
For LED strips, get some of these: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DTOAWZ2
Sound controller: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FTX1V9W
You'll also need a power supply; one roll of LEDs (5 meters) is 5 amps. Get one that provides the appropriate amperage.
Strobes and lasers are easy to install. Most of them don't need anything special.
I find excessively large things to be useful at parties and people always want to partake / take pictures around them.

stripper pole, bar, speakers, elevated surfaces (get your engineers building), lights (I suggest leds that sync to the bass of music like this, length varying on how big room or rooms are), cheap mini disco balls like this, dj setup, Gatorade jugs to stay hydrated, window curtains to hide lights, someone said sound insulation, etc.

His methods are effective if followed, though they are more awkward for your Brothers than standing on the porch waiting for Rushees to walk up. I have strong disagreements with Mattson's ideas, but there is no doubt his method pulls in the numbers. One of his surrogates spent two weeks onsite at the Univ of Alabama recruiting for a brand new Chapter - and pulled a class of 90 guys - at Bama - for a new Chapter.
Instead of doing it online, blow your entire recruitment budget on one of these bad boys and have the PNMs roll through the house to meet the fellas.
The coffee table book itself,"The American Fraternity - An Illustrated Ritual Manual" is designed to appear to be a fraternity's ritual book (it's not), but the formatting and title spark interest from media outlets. The book itself is here: https://www.andrewmoisey.com/the-american-fraternity.html and on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/American-Fraternity-Illustrated-Ritual-Manual/dp/1942084552/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1544546561&sr=8-1&keywords=Moisey
Amazon's astounding summary of the book (likely drafted by the author, Moisey):
>The American Fraternity is a mysterious photo and ritual book that lifts the veil on America’s oldest and most influential male tradition. The text comes from a decaying ritual manual from a prominent college fraternity. Seventy-five percent of modern U.S. presidents, senators, justices, and executives have taken arcane oaths of allegiance like the ones it contains. Six decades of red ceremonial wax stain it like blood. It is filled with dark power.

A small kegerator with a tap on top than can fit a quarter or half keg and a little canister of CO2, while on the more expensive side, saves a ton of money on beer in the long haul and is a really fun and cool feature to have in a house.

There is a Rush how-to book, written by the founder of PhiredUp - the NIC approved, Nationals-applauded fraternity consulting firm. I have lots of problems with Mattson's methods, but there is no arguing that his methods, when followed precisely, yield large Pledge Classes. Now, the quality of those Pledges, their loyalty and their "fire in the belly" is another matter - but his methods work as described. Five years ago, two of Mattson's employees parachuted in to the University of Alabama to Rush for a new fraternity and successfully Bid a Pledge Class of 90 guys - for a new fraternity - at Bama.
There are problems with Phired-Up's philosophy, from my point of view - but there is no doubt that his methods, when followed precisely, produce large Pledge Classes and can save Chapters struggling with critically low membership - extensive comments are in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Frat/comments/c1getc/thoughts_on_getting_the_best_guys/?st=jxtsd9np&sh=1222d348

Deans have changed because parental demands have changed, because the legal climate has changed, and because the bottomless student loan scam renders students and families dulled to the pain of ever-increasing costs until well after those costs have been booked, freeing colleges to expand exponentially and indefensibly beyond the core mission of the classroom and a premium education.
Fraternities can no longer fit within a dean's portfolio and still function as a fraternity to burnish, better, and Bond men - as a bridge between the Home of your parents and the world beyond Commencement. Frexit is the only path that is workable for all stakeholders.
Not sure if they still do this, but we had required readings when we were local. The Prince, The Art of War, How to be a Gentleman, etc. for pledges. Then part of the pledge exam was essay format and were prompts based on the reading. Requiring a pledge to be able to write about Machiavelli and tie a bow tie by the end of pledgeship is both practical and 'frat'.

Thanks for standing up and keeping me safe; welcome home.
I have suggested that Chapters that are forced to stage virtual Rush should defer Rush this cycle and lean on Alumni to cover the fixed expenses of the House until campus normalizes and Rush and Pledgeship can be in-person.
You simply cannot vet a guy on line - you cannot weed out the guys who will creep on girls or worse; you cannot weed out the snowflakes who will melt and run to deans or Nationals with inflated or imagined stories to bring down your Charter.

I’d even say I like them better than chubbies since they’re not dick skin tight shorts

I've been carrying the same one for five years. Cheap as fuck, and it's perfect. Spring-assist for easy open, serrated section. Rope cutter piece is useless, and I've never had to use the glass breaker point but I bet it'd be useless too. The only improvement I'd want is a bottle opener.
> Students have a right to associate in organizations. This has been upheld in court MANY times.
At public institutions, yes. Private -- no.
Private schools can punish students (including expulsion) for membership in "banned" organizations. Public schools can (and do) warn, disparage, and post the generic sort of letters explaining that unrecognized organizations are potentially dangerous, don't enjoy the amazing benefits of recognition, and so on.
The "Greek Life" administrators go to conferences to learn how to do these things.
My grand-big actually just spent a semester in Cambridge, and all he can talk about is everything he misses about the UK. Get these and you're golden (although bass will still get you):
Earplugs (these specifically, others don't seal properly), Noise Machine (placed right next to head), Dissolving Melatonin, and any floor fan. Also fill your room with heavy shit, specifically on the walls. Maybe even sound absorbing art/panels. That helps a lot. Also make sure you're blowing yourself the fuck out with a workout on days you think people might be up late. You just gotta make it through the first few hours.

having dealt with keys and keypads over my past 30ish years as an advisor/housing corps person i'd say keypads have been the best bet, but you have to change the codes at least every semester or whenever you discover an unexplained entry. But, with the way technology is advancing, I would say go with biometrics (fingerprints) these used to be $ 1000 + but now around $ 200 and well worth it.
here is one that can handle 200 unique users (and also has a key pad so you can give house manager, etc override codes, or temp code such as during alumni weekend) https://www.amazon.com/Fingerprint-Biometric-Electronic-Touchscreen-Left-Handle/dp/B07ZSWNX51?th=1
One caveat - if you put this on your front door, you need one on every ground level exterior door unless you can be assured other doors will always be locked.
Hope that helps
We had the same issue this semester, couple composites and lawn furniture got stolen and a die table got wrecked. If you are interested in ancient Roman history covering some pretty fascinating topics I can't reccomend Naked Statues, Fat Gladiators and War Elephants by Dr. Garret Ryan enough. Simple solution. Buy about 5 of these pre paid phones each with a cheap one month plan. Make a separarte yak account for each number then spend the next month spreading the most bat shit rumors about every student org possible. This will eventually muddy the waters to the point that nothing from yak will be taken seriously by your administration. Or so I've been told.
A few examples: Exec Board shadowing program, community service projects (i.e. walking the dogs at the local dog shelter, working at a soup kitchen, volunteering at a church), fundraisers, chapter room improvement project/campus space improvement (i.e. plants, trees, shrubs, etc.).

This is the Nationals-Approved, Deans-Approved method of increasing Rush pools - and it is extremely effective at pulling large Pledge Classes. You can read about my objections to Mattson's methods, but there is no doubt his methods, when used as described, work.
My concern is that his methods pull guys who have been taking no independent steps of their own to seek out fraternities - I believe he creates demand from an idealized set of talking points - and when we Bid guys who lack a deep fire in the belly for what only we can offer - we can often find those guys quickly disillusioned and even angry - I think Mattson's methods increase the chance of a rogue Pledge bolting with exaggerated or imagined stories to Nationals, deans, or mommy - all to make himself look the victim. You should really read this. DKE is going after huge growth. It's bigger than ever and nationals wants it bigger.
> The only group I know that was able to leave one and join another was back in the day when sigma chi was formed after leaving DKE.
So, that was men leaving a certain chapter and forming a brand new fraternity. There was no "Sigma Chi" to join, they made Sigma Chi, just like the founders of DKE made DKE. That is not super uncommon. If these guys want to form a new (local) fraternity, they could easily do that.
Last point: they would not be allowed into DKE. Ignore the fact that they are bankrupt and struggling, one of the basic tenets of any self respecting fraternity is that you can only join one fraternity in your life.
These are good I have 4 of these set up that I control with one remote. They're short but they stick really well they're also black unlike others which I find pretty cool

Mid tier(anyone that's not Fiji, sig ep, kappa sigs, and SAE) you can just rush before school starts/first week of school. If you're interested just contact the rush chair, the rush chairs tend to be the coolest and most welcoming guys in their chapters. You can check out the different fraternities here http://issuu.com/texasifc/docs/ifc_guide_final?e=0/8607982
If you're looking at the big four contact guys who went to your high school that are now members. That's how they get most of their members, otherwise hitting them up directly would be your best bet.
Give <strong>Slack</strong> a shot. It's a group communication app that makes is much, much better than any Facebook setup in my opinion. It does have some limitations (doesn't have polling, doesn't have events/calendar), but when it comes to communicating and keeping the content (serious fraternity business, random chatter) separate in an easily navigable way, it can't be beat.

If you really want to fix the problem, find out why the Bids you proffered were not accepted - assign a Brother to every Bid that went elsewhere - congratulate them on their new House, get them drunk, and ask them why the did not choose your Bid. Frankly, the last couple of classes of freshmen have not been very insightful or very transparent - but they know what you need to know - why they chose other Houses.
Fall 2021 should have been the largest Rush and largest Pledge Classes in a decade - because most guys stayed on the sidelines (or at home) through 2020 - so both sophomores and freshmen - and more than a few juniors should be in the Rush pool for the first time. That you drew half your pre-Covid classes - and half the class of other Houses on your campus suggests the quality or presentation of your remaining Actives is a problem compared to other Houses. If all your guys graduated during Covid, push the opportunity to be part of the rebuilding and the opportunity for leadership roles before they are juniors. Talk with your Alumni - review the Rush disaster, and ask if they are willing to help - funding marketing campaigns and better quality events. If that fails, you can follow the NIC-approved consulting firm, PhiredUp's advice on Rush - their techniques (which I find problematic) are highly effective at pulling large Pledge Classes, even on highly competitive campuses - they assembled a Class of 90 guys at Bama a few years ago for a new fraternity that did not even have a House yet. Their book, "Good Guys," is on Amazon here https://www.amazon.com/Good-Guys-Possibility-Fraternity-Recruitment/dp/1411671279/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=good+guys+Mattson&qid=1631486315&sr=8-1
I think we can do better. I know people take as much pride in their wooden tables as I do mine. From what I've seen, these Victory (+ other brands) don't cut it for the real athletes among us.
There's a bunch of white label tables of the exact same design coming from China and a frequent critique is that the laminate and framing are shit. It seems to me that all these companies import from China, stamp their label in the US, ship them and forget them.
I think we can achieve real quality made domestically and not be forced to settle for compromise.
This was a confusing post for me. In my frat, “reading” means drinking and “books” means beers.

Yeah, here's one from Amazon, I know nothing about the brand, but it doesn't look too far off (in terms of materials and function) from my 1958 Gillette. The reason I recommend this style is for ease of use, brass construction, and the blade angle adjustments. Most cheaper safety razors don't have the additional dial for setting blade angle, which as you get into it will let you adjust your comfort. I've seen plenty of people he the $15-20 safety razors at the grocery store and give up because it's too rough. With this one, you just lower the dial setting and boom. Problem solved. Well, that and holding the damned thing at the correct angle and taking long, smooth strokes. If you can handle your straight razor, a safety razor will be a walk in the park, as it's closer to a straight than a modern razor in usage.

Sorry to bump this:
Being fair, the chapter that went "Alpha Delta" was ADPhi at Dartmouth. They're literally one of the houses that inspired Animal House (and not in that, "totally dude, we inspired Animal House!" way, but one of the writers was literally a brother).
https://www.amazon.com/Real-Animal-House-Awesomely-Fraternity/dp/0316067172
The five that split off were facing pressure from their schools due to a sudden push to go co-educational. ADPhi was founded as a literary society and still bills itself as one, leaving itself more subject to pressure by universities to go co-educational.
We used to have required readings like How to be a gentleman, The Art of War, The Prince, etc. as well as movies like Boiler Room, Glengarry Glen Ross, Dead Poets Society, we changed it up from semester to semester. I like to think it kept their minds active. We did a mock trial for judicial review board, which is more practical than having a long ass meeting where somebody reads bylaws in monotone.

Use adhesive floor protection. This stuff works like a charm with paint!
I'm going to assume that your off campus house has hard floors. Don't buy the minimum square footage since you're going to want to overlap at least 2 inches. Use a dry mop or floor squeegee to evenly spread each sheet and get a good seal on the floor, and use masking tape to secure the edges.
When the party's over, peel it up and toss it in a dumpster. Good luck!

We just picked up one of these this spring and it bangs. jbl prx725 http://www.amazon.com/JBL-PRX725-15-Inch-Two-Way-System/dp/B00EIG49KE
Edit: Sorry just read your price range of $200 but if you want some bangin speakers pick these up
My chapter has something like this and it works great http://www.amazon.com/NoTrax-General-Competitor-Anti-Fatigue-Thickness/dp/B003U1SHRE/ref=pd_bxgy_328_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0NQJE0TMN8YQ223CZZ9Y
I posted a similar thread last semester, these were recommended to me: http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Passport-Event-PA-System/dp/B00JFZJMPA
They work pretty great. I don't know much about sound equipment, but they're loud as hell and easy to transport and use.
at just an amazing price of $ 195 with rock solid durability and high class sound , With bluetooth you can go anywhere within 30 feet of the speaker and play music without wires. Just have look at this party speaker Party Speaker! i can bet you will not regret my suggestion
Only thing is I'm not sure how to hang them so they look good.
That looks like the same as mine. I can vouch for this one personally but they probably aren't that different
You should be able to get this system for $200 (that's what I paid a year ago) at a physical store. Let me tell you it is LOUD. As in, I am supposed to write a fucking essay, make some artwork for my hall, and do 8 hours of community service for how loud it is. With this system in your room you would have no problem vibrating a decent part of the house Add in the fact that it's bluetooth and modern, it's a better option than a hodgepodge from a thrift shop or what not.
Speakers. Personally I have a set of Logitech z623's that fucking rattle my room. 200W is more than enough to piss off your housemates, and they're relatively cheap.
