This article mentions does mention Gumballs & Dungeons, but what Play Store region and server version is this article referring to?
The article lists:
App name: "Gumballs & Dungeons: Roguelike RPG Dungeon crawler"
Package name: com.qc.mgden.android
Version: 0.41.171020.09-1.8.6
That is NOT the app name, package, or version I have from the Play Store. Is that maybe the China server or Oasis server?
What I have from Play Store, which is the Global server version, is:
App name: "Gumball & Dungeons(G&D)"
Package name: com.qcplay.slimegogogo
Version: 0.41.171212.03-1.10.1 (45)
I also checked for those icons that the article mentioned and don't have anything that looks like that.
Edit:
I found the package "com.qc.mgden.android" (again the Global server version is "com.qcplay.slimegogogo") listed here and it looks like a different thing published by some company called "OG Limited". The Global server version is published by "Qc Limited." and is here on the Play Store.
When I try to look at the at the "com.qc.mgden.android" version on the Play Store, it says, "This item isn't available in your country." So is this the Oasis server version?
Edit 2:
Yes, the "com.qc.mgden.android" version is the Oasis server version. There's a link to go to the company's website, which has a Facebook link, which says "@GumballsDungeons.Oasisgames" on it.
Is this a problem with your phone or just this game?
If you're on Android, there are apps you can get to force different screen orientations. You could try one of them, try a couple orientations, and see if it does what you want. Here's a couple examples:
1. Ultimate Rotation Control, free 7 day trial, then $3 USD for app.
2. Rotation Lock Adaptive, basic version free, $2 USD for pro version with more features.
There's a bunch of other ones if you don't like these. Search for terms like "orientation" or "rotation" on the Play Store.
Another option that uses the game itself: If you are in a dungeon, when you force close the app and then restart the app, the floor contents will be reset and objects will move around, including the exit location. This is commonly referred to as "s/l" or "sl".
First things first? Put that idea into a GDD or Game Design Document. It's a skeleton for game or app ideas and adds form to how the game would be.
As for unity, it's not a cure all for game development. It's great sure, but it is best to build up from something else. So I'd recommend trying out GameMaker or something else that's really better for an intro.
It takes time to make a game, and game ideas are a dime a dozen. It's not to burst your bubble or anything, but in my experience of making games you get a lot more failures than successes. It's kind of like how people tend to think they have a million dollar idea. It's work that takes an idea there.
Here's a link to a GDD that I built several years ago. I edited it a while back to include a guide so people can learn how to build their game ideas better: https://payhip.com/b/TIcB
Anyhow, best of luck. Do a GDD first. Then find someone who knows the technical side (students for instance or friends) and work with them on it. Cheers!
GPG (Google Play Games) might help with the right profile to login: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.play.games
Also, I might have read it wrong but you signed out and signed in with a "different" gpg profile? It would definitely not use the same progress you have. Hopefully I read that wrong.
Strange, i have no problem updating through the official Store. But my device is set in UK language. The app from your store must be The Oasis one.
The one you need: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qcplay.slimegogogo&hl=fr&showAllReviews=true
The Oasis one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qc.mgden1.android&hl=fr
Yes, once installed, it behaves like a normal app (it's really the same apk). Updates via the store, and minor updates in-game. No difference, just an alternative installation.
Edit : can you browse this page : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qcplay.slimegogogo&hl=en
People can upload just about anything to google play without it being screened. It isn't until people report it that google takes a close look.
Just because it's there doesn't mean it's safe.
This file keeps getting removed due to people flagging it, but then the people behind it make some small change and upload it again.
This is the real version

If you want to see what it looks like, the first picture on the Play Store page shows what it looks like. Just doesn't have that bottom text in game.
