I was the main french translator for the Coinbase website (50% by me, other by pro).
They blocked me 2 months ago (while keeping my translations) because they hired pro translators.
Today the french version has not been updated since they kicked me and the translation is very incomplete and has errors that I can't change.
https://crowdin.com/profile/ankurnandwani (a manager of the Coinbase project) said me I will be a proofreader when the pro translators have completed the verification of the existing translations -> The job is done since 1 month at least, and nothing since that.
And he ignores my messages.
So coinbase, what are you doing?
/u/bdarmstrong
nope, its real you can download the files here
edit:
you can download it, but to my knowledge you can't apply it. You probably could with a custom BetterDiscord plugin though. If you really want it, contribute to the translations and maybe once it's 100% translated it'll get added.

I was in the beta test and it has speed improvements too!
It's actually pretty cool that they'd translated it to Gaidhlig. Looks like it's a volunteer translation so I wonder where that can get started and why hasn't it been started for Irish?
EDIT: Actually I've found it! It's just that it's only 30% complete so it's not available in settings yet.
It is a junction block that allows to construct structures out of smaller templates.
"Target pool" refers to a pool of elements the jigsaw block can draw elements from (ie: the next template to place).
"Attachement type" refers to the "name" of the jigsaw block. Jigsaw blocks can only connect to other jigsaw blocks with the same "name" (attachement type).
"Turn into" is just the blockstate the jigsaw block will turn into once the whole feature is placed

Amazing job once again! You've an amazing response time on bug reports and an even incredible release schedule! Slide has grown to be my favorite client thus far!
Don't forget to get some much deserved rest!
Edit: if people want to help translate the app to another language, visit https://crowdin.com/project/slide-for-reddit . English, Polish and Dutch are done but other languages could use your help!

You need an account to see it, but the Minecraft translation project has descriptions that explain how the block is used. According to them, the block is going to be used with structure blocks to allow loading complex, randomly generated structures.
For example, say you wanted to have a randomly generated dungeon. You could make every potential room of the dungeon its own structure with a jigsaw block at the connection points. Then, when you loaded the first room using a structure block, all the jigsaw blocks would attach new rooms at connection points, and then replace themselves with their "Turn into" block.
At the moment, though, it does nothing.
I would very much appreciate it!
If you would like to help, head on over to the Crowdin page, I just added Hebrew to the list of localizations. Just create an account there and select your language.
Thanks for the interest!
New version looks good!
Which repo/endpoint/site should RES consult for localized versions of the ban message, for live-previewing the message before sending it? Maybe https://crowdin.com/project/reddit?
If you're looking for a way to manage translators and translations (you might already know about it),is Crowdin (https://crowdin.com/page/tour).
Some open-source apps I've used it and they liked it. It's free if your app is open-source...which, now at the end of this message, I don't actually know if it is. But, it's on GitHub?

Ich finde übrigens, alle Kreiswichser sollten sich an der deutschen Übersetzung von Lases beteiligen. Dann könnten wir bessere Übesetzungen durchsetzen und man müsste nicht solche angelsächsischen Begriffe wie „Permalink“ und ähnliches ertragen.
Guys, I don't want to spam, but I do think the post I made just now about the Ethereum.org translation project is important. If you don't want to check it out, just let me summarize it quickly: please contribute to the community translation project at https://crowdin.com/project/ethereumfoundation so Ethereum can reach more people. Thank you!
Hello community,
I'm sure some of you noticed that the README in tron-java's Github and much of the documentation there is quite poorly written. I believe now is probably a good time to push forward with the English translation and improve it before Mainnet and all that.
So I urge all of you English speakers to join me and help with the translation projects. See link here: https://crowdin.com/project/trondocs
Currently the main problems (in my opinion anyway) are:
+ Inconsistencies
+ Lack of technical people (developers for example) in the translation project.
Please contribute to this wonderful project by revising existing translations and suggest your own translations.
Cheers!

The devs restarted most of the text entries for the game some time ago (for whatever reason). I myself re-translated like 80% of the game to my own language (Spanish) until 100% translation. "Pirate English" is at 18% at the moment, that's the problem. Since translations are community driven, the community will have to recreate all the entries, or else it will stay like that. Unless the devs do it by themselves at some point, which I doubt will happen.
I'll link you to the translation projects page on Crowdin: https://crowdin.com/project/rust
Looks like this has been in effect since March 24.
I'd submit a pull request but they want translations handled through crowdin and I cba to sign up. If someone else feels like fixing it I found more errors through a script (filtered it manually, but were unsure about some).
Ah yes, things that require touching command prompt, github or the actual code are a lot to take in...
I enjoy the interface of Crowdin as far as translation goes - my main reasons for moving beyond is that 1. it costs money to create projects, 2. there was a limited number of available projects & 3. it only deals with translation.
The way they do it is smart though, and it wouldn't be difficult to build off of the system they use, especially with the help of some tech-savvy people.
It would be good to have all (or a lot) of the Irish language translators in one place, as well.
That is Macedonian language. It looks like Latvian language for MIUI hasn't been fully translated yet (it is 98% done, check link down below), so that is why some stuff is in English and Macedonian.
I do translations from English into my Language for games/software. It certainly helps me learn, not just about English, but also about my language :)
They basically do crowd sourcing for translations (localization as they call it), so no pay, it is purely a volunteer job.
This is the correct answer - though, don't just reapply the changes, as you should NEVER modify base
and core
. instead contribute them, or make a mod with them, as appropriate.
I think we are progressing really well on the translations. https://crowdin.com/project/iota-ucl-wallet/

In addition to this translations can be added in Resource packs.

Crowdin integration is not required if they really want to thank the translators for their effort. I am also pretty sure that Hypesquad badges are added manually by the staff.
They could post on the project's main page about it mentioning that translators who have translated a certain number of strings can be awarded a translator badge if they message one of the project managers with their DiscordTag, users are able to access these stats themselves by going to their crowdin profile and clicking on the three dots besides the Discord project.
I personally do not believe that crowdin integration is the problem and I am pretty sure that the devs want to show their appreciation to all translators, it's just that there are other features they are working on right now. Nevertheless, it would be neat to have translator badges as a way to thank the translators for their effort if the developers ever find time for it.
The app has been translated in over 15 languages, which I think is a testament to how international our user base is.
Regarding the lyrics themselves, I couldn't give you a ratio but we have a lot of everything. Japan, America, France, Italy, Korea, South-America, ...

Would you be interested in translating Copay? (It's a great, open source wallet, and we are always looking for new translators. We currently don't have Korean...)
https://crowdin.com/project/copay
Step 1: Sign up for a free account on crowdin. Step 2: Go to korean (https://crowdin.com/project/copay/ko) Step 3: Start translating

Let me know if you are interested in either.
The translations aren't made by the devs but it's a crowdsourced project on Crowdin. Because of that, there's no guarantee that the translations are 100% correct (anyway they're still better than the console translations)

Hi there! The new languages are Indian, Ukrainian, Valencian and Vietnamese, plus a bunch of other additions to other languages.
All the translations are made by the community. If you speak another language, you can contribute your translations right here, and have your name featured in the "Translators" screen in the About section!
The Greymass eos-voter application is currently 96% translated into Japanese.

If you or your crew like to contribute that remaining 4%, we're an open source application and all of our translations are done through the crowdin platform.
https://www.reddit.com/gold?goldtype=creddits
That's not actually a translation error; Reddit gold uses "creddits" to refer to 1-month chunks of reddit gold that you can give out to other people. It's a play on the word "credit", of course, but also on the name "reddit".
If anything, I think the error would be writing it as "12 crédits" instead of "12 creddits" in the dropdown menu.
Anyway, translation errors should be reported on reddit's crowdin page.
It is possible, and it is crowdsourced, just make an account on crowdin.
https://crowdin.com/project/factorio/tr#
Most of the Turkish seems to have been translated, but there might be gramatical errors and whatnot most people (including the devs) won't be able to catch. Voting for already suggested things and submitting corrections helps a lot.
Now, I don't know any French (Canadian or otherwise) and so I'm just trying to grep for what you've said but I can't find it anywhere.
The text at the beginning of freeplay is in freeplay.cfg as msg-intro. Note that the English actually refers to them as 'natives' and not 'aliens'. > msg-intro= ...snip... Start small, work your way up with automation and don't forget to protect yourself from the natives.
That same last sentence in the fr local: > Commencez petit, évoluez en automatisant et n'oubliez pas de vous protéger contre les autochtones.
Google Translate indicates that "autochtones" refers to "indigenous"
Factorio translations are on Crowdin. If you can find the line in question, you can make the change yourself.
Edit:
Here is a dump of the msg-intro as it appears in the various translations. (data/base/scenarios/freeplay/locale)
I can't find anything like "Et ne vous inquiétez pas des ALGONQUIEN!" anywhere in there.
In my opinion, Chinese translation should be completely reconsidered. I can say at least 50% of the translation are inaccurate or could be considerably improved. Could this be happening? ...or something like crowdin
> well actually there're too much faults and mistakes in this localization so could you guys please get someone checked it thoroughly coz this text is more like coming out of google translation (by Rico.Se7en)
Then you don't know what you're missing ;) Good translation software will make it easy to see which keys are missing translations and in which languages, it also makes it easy to give context to each line, ask questions to developers or even have a discussion - all in the context of a specific text. Plus things like showing which texts have been approved, which are still in review etc. I've used https://crowdin.com in my work and it was a huge difference compared to our previous setup with manually handled XML files.

Most of changes in 1.9 translation relates to glossary that describe rules of translation of some terms (Nether, End, Redstone...), that we as translators must follow and respect.
This is the most wrong place to discuss about the Mojang glossary. It's Mojang's game and if Mojang decides to make a glossary (for whatever reasons) this has to be respected. See also Ola's comment in Language update for 1.9

I noticed the "Today Widget Translations" are not complete in your language. If you can sign up (for free) at crowdin and translate the missing strings we'd greatly appreciate it! :-)
"Crowdin" is one that I've used - it splits things up into sentence-by-sentence, and different languages can be activated to enable translation of the same text into multiple different languages. This is one project I participated in, as an example.
And Runbit has an interesting one, although I think it was custom-built by the app-developer.
> If that's too much work for the translation team then they should probably find different jobs.
MInecraft is translated by volunteers, not employed translators.
The subreddit for that is /r/i18n. There you will get a link to reddit's cowdin site where you can translate your marry way. Somehow though, there are like people (redditors) that have the final say on translations (And there's an admin that implements those changes, which might also take time. So the correct translation might already have been submitted.), or something...I actually don't get the system. I did some translations myself, I'm not sure they were ever let through.

Depends on your abilities, but you can help with translations, contribute code, file bug reports and answer forum questions.
Also, report users who misbehave (e.g. users writing insults in the chat) to help out the mods.
You want to help, but you don't know what to do? Where to start?
🛠️ What do I need?
You need 4 things:
❔ What is CrowdIn?
CrowdIn is a collaborative platform for people requiring translations of stuff they wrote on the on side (here it's Savy Soda, the developers of PSS) and people willing to help out (for free) on the other side. That's you!
Follow this link to Pixel Starships project page on CrowdIn and then follow the instructions to create an account, if you haven't done this, yet.
💪 Alright, so what do I have to do?
Follow the link above, log in and then select your language you want to translate to. You'll see some texts to be translated (in English). Check for errors in the translations and suggest fixes. Or look for currently untranslated texts and suggest a translation. Another approach is to look for errors in game and search the corresponding text on CrowdIn and suggest a fix. Someone else will proof read your suggestions and accept them.
A manual for CrowdIn can be found here.
❓ I still got questions, though.
Helping other fellow PSS translators is what the PSS Translation Services Discord server is for. We got resources there, you can report missing or wrong texts and we kind of have a direct line to the one responsible for coordinating the translations. Head over, take the tour to learn about the server and in case any question comes up, someone's usually online to answer it.
Good luck and have fun!
I think you are referring to translation management systems right? It's surprising how many of these systems exist, I had no idea this was such a huge thing before actually needing one.
We are using https://crowdin.com atm. Quite happy with it. I like that it recognises lots of formats, does a nice job at detecting variables, and pricing is reasonable imo. Support was also very nice. The way they have translation partners that are on the platform makes it really easy to get stuff translated.
Cool, wish you luck. Didn't like the translation way, would it be possible to move the translatable stuff to an external website, like crowdin.com or oneskyapp.com? Then I can will be easier to get translator, and I'd offer myself for portuguese and spanish.
Unfortunately we very much rely on the community to point out TL issues (as we don't speak the lang)
Here's our open source Translation status: https://crowdin.com/project/holodex - a user is already working on a German TL <3

/u/fra00 cioè reddit ti avrebbe contattato per lavorare come traduttore quando il lavoro di traduzione su reddit è sempre stato freeplay su crowdin?
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm so sorry about mistakes, you can fix them on Crowdin: https://crowdin.com/project/common-voice-android

The change of language, on Android, is very complicated and it would be very complicated for me implement language for the UI and language of contributions.
Also, this would complicate the code and this is not a feature which all users want to and, using the KISS principle, I prefer (for now, at least) to not implement it.
Anyway, really thanks for the suggestion and the feedback
Have you thought about using Crowdin to help with the translation into other languages? I've used it to help translate Automation (indie car-building game) and it's very simple for that: you just get the "source" string text, and a box to add the translation into the language you've chosen.
Beside the formatting issue, that translation is really obsolete -- the English version makes no mention of "Adblock+", it's "Parse and enforce cosmetic filters".
Translations are handled at <https://crowdin.com/project/ublock/>, so this is the place to go to fix any translation issues.
I appreciate you wanting to help us with our translation efforts, and it looks like there is a bit more work to be done in Italian on the iOS/macOS side of things.
You can find the translatable strings here: https://crowdin.com/project/1password-for-ios-and-osx
I don't know anything about the ADA as I am not from the USA, but from what I do know about subtitling for YouTube using Rev.com and others there are specific standards to which subtitles must meet for ADA and that it's highly likely that private individuals wouldn't know about or meet these in many cases and theres issues of abuse of the system.
The removal of this feature is most likely more of an issue for community translated subtitling of content rather than deaf subtilting, however no doubt someone has already or will soon spin-up a service like CrowdIn.com, it's not like they are preventing YouTube Creators from creating subtitles or uploading SRT files themselves.
This article has been massaged for a headline, YouTube announced this previous to this week, subtitling isn't being removed, only community contributed ones, which could easily continue on another platform, and really to meet ADA you should follow formatting guidelines which the community will on average not have a clue about.
Tl;dr this isn't the big thing the article makes it out to be, pay for subtitling that meets the standard, do it yourself, or find a platform for crowd-sourced subtitling and go there instead.
Yes, you can just join the crowdin directly, but a lot of the coordination and discussion on how to translate certain concepts is held on the Discord, so it helps.
https://crowdin.com/project/receiver-2/invite?d=a5n64605l6t6v6o47363q493n4
Congrats! Consistency and hard work is what gets results, and you've succeeded in both.
> It takes time, and I am still not certain if I will ever be able to get formatted notes out of the ANKI system (it just scares me a bit :p).
Shouldn't be a problem - we're open source, and there's probably already an addon for it. We don't intentionally make it difficult to export data (CSV Export definitely exists).
> I wish I was part of some of the lines written in these open source biggies! Alas :) Maybe sometime soon. I need to learn much more coding before I can get there.
Come get a few lines of code in our manual or if you can help translate the app if you want to start ;)
PS: What are you learning?
That's a shame. Everybody can use spellchecker nowadays. Even you!
Eh, what I mean is most well-known mods use something like crowdin for sourcing translations and you are free to input your corrections there. A quick 5 seconds search ended with this. Hope it helps :-)
Note that this does not apply to the vanilla, unmodded game but I would be surprised if there were any more typos after the waves upon waves of corrections prior to release :-D
This video is horrible. Here's the text below it:
>As the developers of RetroArch, the universality of our application is very important to us, and we are always working to improve this. Previously, we were managing our translations with a slightly more complex system, but we started using Crowdin to make it easier for regular, non-technical users to contribute translations.
Basically it's a way to help out by translating the UI to other languages. Note that this is not community translations for games to go with their new auto-translation thing, but translating the English UI for Retroarch into other languages.
I'm sure it's a little out of date since I did that in a flurry of activity two years ago. ;-) If anyone wants to update the remaining bits, you can create an account and help the Amikumu people at: https://crowdin.com/project/amikumu/lfn#
You can take a look at their Crowding page to have an idea.
They announced in the FFF#349 that they "chose to look for a professional translation company to help fill in the gaps and proofread everything" for the 1.0 release, so it will change over time but it can gives you a good idea of the amount of work for each langages ! :)
This is actually intended - we don't want to clutter the scroll bar too much, so we transliterate the characters where possible, so ö turns into oe. This also (partly) applies to Chinese, Japanese, and Cyrillic characters.
Regarding translations generally, they are community-provided at Crowdin.
Yo les puse el link directo al test en español, pero en la página principal dice

Create an account on Crowdin, chose your language in the Minecraft project page and there you can vote submitted translations and suggest your own translations. This is the link for the melon block translation in Swiss German: https://crowdin.com/translate/minecraft/9412/enus-dech#5194962
Feel free to ask me other questions about Crowdin!
Lichess.org the chess site also has Toki Pona among interfacelanguages available.
The translation is not complete though. Everyone can contribute to improving the translation:
From the activity stream you can see that you did 538 (66%) of the translations, while user RyverBCH did 268 (33%). Those are not word counts though, to get those I'd have to do some scripting with the API most likely.
> Either way, this info cannot be put back into a bottle and he was still an ass to staff members.
This super secret info was that DE uses crowdin for localization, and the insult was calling the DE translation "machine translated". Yes, it was unprofessional to discuss and criticize the translation in public, but let's not act like he leaked info about the next expansion or insulted DE staff.

Please visit this site where you can submit your own translations. Make an account there, choose Serbian (Cyrillic) and search for translations you don't like. You can report them and submit your own so it can get corrected.
Thanks, I found it here. MIUI/apps/MiuiSystemUI/packages/SystemUI/res-keyguard/values/strings.xml has these strings:
<plurals name="input_password_after_timeout_msg"> <item quantity="one">Gebe dein Passwort mindestens <xliff:g id="number">%d</xliff:g>-mal pro Stunde ein, um es immer zu behalten</item> <item quantity="other">Gebe dein Passwort mindestens <xliff:g id="number">%d</xliff:g>-mal pro Stunde ein, um es immer zu behalten</item> </plurals>
I applied to become a member of the translation team; let's see how that works out.
Good news /u/maqroll92 !
The project now has support for translations. I don't know any Italian myself though, so if you want to help with translations, you can do so here: https://crowdin.com/project/nightscout-status/it#
The translation is from the Factorio community (https://crowdin.com/translate/factorio/all/en-de). The problem is that from that translation website it's not always 100% clear where it shows up and also it's difficult to know how some other person might have already the same word you're currently trying to translate.
Source: I did some Factorio (and other) translations in the past.
>Some words are not translated as well. Like the pollution tab in the production window.
So if you can tell me exactly what you mean I could probably try to fix it.
ASF's localization is available thanks to the community, if there is nobody interested in making proper Japanese localization then it simply won't happen until somebody does.
I'd suggest encouraging people of your country to join us on crowdin and help make it happen. Some local Steam-related forums/boards are probably the best place for that. I can't force anybody to take part in ASF localization process.
I have just created a project in crowdin to aide the translation of cstimer. https://crowdin.com/project/cstimer
Descriptions of each word have not been fully documented yet, since there are hundreds of words or sentences to be translated.
That's what we do for Minecraft: Java Edition. I don't think the translations are computer generated here, but when you get professional translators only doing it for money and have no idea about the game/context can't translate stuff well. Crowdin.com is the website we use.

There is this tho, i have literally translated skin (kinda, it is a lesser used word coming from Arabic, not the actual Turkish word) for Minecraft.

I spent most of today working on multiplayer! Wee! It's going to be a while until it's full fledged Solace Crafting Multiplayer, but hopefully I will be able to do a limited test server sometime next week or so.
I also added 24 more languages. This makes for a total of 30, the "top 30" according to crowdin. I had to change the interface and some things a bit to compensate for the increased number and workflow. Currently the in-game language select window bleeds 10 of the 30 buttons outside of the window, but it's (once again) way past my bed time. I will fix that up tomorrow and continue expanding the language systems reach. There are still a fair number of in-game words and phrases to be plugged into the system but it's a great start to opening to a much wider audience.
The complete language list is now: Afrikaans عربى català čeština dansk Deutsch ελληνικά English español suomi français עברית magyar italiano 日本語 한국어 Nederlands norsk polski português - Brazil português - Portugal limba română Русский язык српски svenska Türkçe Українська tiếng việt 中文 台語
