During previous Devs stream #72 (summary here) Devs insisted a lot about lore and stuff.

They talked about a "code". What if finding the code could decipher the Anniversary Weapons (and Odd stamp addon...) Entity's language ?

They also pointed out that a character very important was already in the game (Vigo, Alex, Benedict Baker?)

After that I was think about the reference on the Ranger Med-Kit : "VK.ID-3994723". Note that the adress https://vk.com/id3994723 is giving Yulia Abzalilova profil on VK.com (a russian social network) but I sincerely don't believe it is related to DBD in any way.

The only thing that I could find interesting based on it was that some Cryptography books are using "VK" and "ID" as parameters.

Then during Devs stream #73, we could see during the countdown this "screensaver"

Could that characters sequence be a "code" ? If you alternate survivors sitting on trees and others standing up and then adding killers it could be : 2-3-1-2-1-1-6

So your integrated graphics is your bottleneck. I'd recommend overclocking your graphics using MSI Afterburner, but that will only give you at max 3-5 more FPS.

If you really want to significantly improve your FPS, there's no other option other than to buy a discrete GPU. An RX 560 or a GTX 1050 will yield double the performance than your integrated graphics.

You can dodge a hell of a lot of criticism with communication.

Lets use Eve Online as an example. That game has had some serious bugs (no, really) and problems over the course of its life. Whenever such an event occurs, they do a write up on their news page. This brings the players into the fold and they can understand the problem and even sympathize with the devs.

I have a feeling, we'd all be more understanding if we knew what was going on over at BHVR. That said, they do seem to be a little slow on the bug fix front.

I read the article and I think the guy writing it has some good points. I wouldnt say it's a wholesome picture thought. There are many reasons for playing the game other than to win. Long time lurker here, the reason most companies don't have any minigames during loading screens or downtime is that they can't. Not until recently anyway, Namco Bandai held a patent that forbids people from even working on a mini-game that could be implemented in such a way.

Most of my lobbies have at least 2-3 other people wearing the new cosmetics, and most of the non-licensed killers I've gone up against also have them. (Black dress on Nurse is especially popular, almost every Nurse I run into is wearing it now) The prices are fine; it doesn't change the game and it provides revenue to the team to keep developing more content for DBD, so I'm all for it. The game goes on sale often, along with the older DLCs, so I'm happy to support them with buying the skins I like at the current prices.

Great idea. The T-800 would make for a perfect first robot/android killer. As we've seen in T1(horror) and T:Salvation, they are just as brutal without ranged weapons. So there are alot of options for abilities.

The T-800 would be by far the physically strongest killer in DBD so he shouldn't get "stunned" like the others. This should be his "stun" animation from Salvation. Drop the pallet, hear a metal clang, he turns his head, and then that. Shows that he feels no pain.

I can offer you two workaround solutions as honestly I wouldn't hold up any hope of the devs implementing what you're looking for.

There is a crafty piece of software called USBDview which will allow you control over the USB ports on an individual basis. This allows you to essentially kill a single USB port whenever you want to.

The other solution will cost you some dough as it involves buying yourself a powered USB hub with individual power buttons for each port on the hub.

IF you guys struggle with the Sync Error code 111 or 112 , you can fix it by using an VPN . I bought the ExpressVPN (for max speed) (12$ for 1 month) and I never get this stupid error ever again.

First off, that particular software from Apple is actually very very good. It's recommended for those who actually make video editing a professional job and/or serious hobby. There are numerous programs under $200.00. Check them out.

Merit: I worked for Apple (tier 2 technical advisor and support for Mac) for a couple of years while in college, we got so many late calls about how to work the apple video editor, it's a bitch if you don't read the manual and you aren't serious about the program...

-Work on pacing between events and don't just slap in it there out of nowhere. (It gives us a clear them to follow up on as to where your humor is derived from) Key word is transitioning.

-How are you inserting your audio files into your scenes? Do you resize the file with programs like audacity? I say this because some of your audio files are just too loud. Loud to the point where it takes the attention away from the video and put the attention on covering one's ears. (Definitely grab a program and mess with audio wavelengths and pitch to adjust to the quality of the video. Everything should be even out.) Download audacity Here if you think it might help ya.

-Try to watch other YouTube funny videos and see which one appeals to your style of editing. Worked for me.

the solution is to play the game with M + KB, as it was intended. the game says "partial controller" support on the store page - you are gimping yourself playing on a controller, especially since theres no sensitivity option to alleviate the turning issues

Sorry man, I don't think anyone will vouch for console keys. Those are really rare on these sorts of sites anyways, quickly searched it up on CDKeys and every Xbox one is out of stock.

I'd say your best bet is to look for a physical copy, I'm pretty sure I saw a guy on this sub reddit earlier who found one. Go to your nearest gamestop/gamestop like business and ask around, maybe they'll have a stray copy and it won't be 60 bucks like all of these keys are. It'd be nice to know what console you are on too, cause if you are on Xbox I might have found just what you need heres the link, on amazon for 35 bucks you can get a physical copy of the chapter but sadly it seems to be out of stock or something for PS. Its amazon and seems to have some legit reviews so I'd trust it. Also looks to have a 30 day return thingy, so you'll get your money back from amazon if you get scammed somehow I guess.

The problem with physical copies is that it won't work without the disc inserted I think, so thats a bummer, but keys don't seem like the way to go for console so this is your best bet man.

I've been using this controller for a few years now. The shoulder buttons can be a bit stiff, but overall it's nice for DBD. Other controllers I've used tend to weaken on buttons you need to hold down, which obviously is not good for a game like this.

I turned my brightness up, contrast up until it didn't make a difference, adjusted the gamma, changed a few other settings, and I still couldn't see.

Does this make the game scary? To some, but honestly, as someone scared of the dark in real life (well, more like Thalassophobia), I didn't find it scary. I found it annoying. It makes me unable to play for a minute. That's a bad mechanic.

It should be similar to Oni Rage or Michael T3, where you have to decide if you want to hide or risk getting killed; but in this case, I can't even hide, because I can't tell what's right in front of my face.

If the solution is "buy a new monitor", please don't bother. I shouldn't have to spend money to replace something that works fine for every other game. Also, I don't think allowing players to adjust brightness/gamma is necessarily good either, as they will abuse it.

My idea would be that you make a radius around the player. Inside that radius is a spotlight effect where you see fairly well with thematic darkness, but outside of that radius is pure darkness. He could come from any angle. That way, I don't feel like I have to afk for a minute, but the threat is still looming. If you look at the end of my clip when I'm running past the cars, that's exactly what it should look like all the time during Nightfall.

Anything would be better than my experience last night. Also, if anyone can give me suggestions, I will gladly take them!

Seriously though, the counter for Artist is to just keep moving. If you try to play loops with her and she's any good she'll just put down crows and you'll be trapped. Just make sure to juke a bit if she's about to shoot a crow at you as you flee. She slows down a bit while placing and shooting the crows, so those will help you gain distance. And the more she shoot the longer the recharge, so if she shoot three you have plenty of time to repel the swarm if you got hit (provided she doesn't have recharge add ons).

If you use https://www.omnicalculator.com/statistics/probability with A = 8% and B = 92% and set it so the event occurs 6 times the probability of A occurring at least once is indeed 39%.

Probability isn't very intuitive and I don't really understand the math, but the calculations are still valid.

As of right now, you can complete all the gens in 3 minutes flat.

Lets say we want games to last six minutes. That's still really damn short, but at least killers have a chance to play the game.

Assuming 30 seconds to find your initial person, 50 seconds per chase, 20 seconds for the first guy to come for the save, assuming the killer always manages to intercept the first savior, assuming the second savior takes 10 seconds in transit and heals, and assuming survivors always hop on gens when able, this graph represents how fast gens are worked on.

In order to simply have a match go 6 minutes before the gates are powered, survivors would need to spend 742 seconds on generators, meaning each generator would have to take 148 seconds instead of the current 80.

That's a really damn boring solution, though. There are better ways of doing this, but you'd need to effectively do this with whatever change made.

• Clown can force pallet drops quickly, but has no tool to play dropped pallets. Pig is the opposite; she can't force out pallets, but she can play dropped ones.
• Doc is terrible. Madness is a joke, and not only is shock therapy buggy, but it isn't even that good when it works. Shock Therapy guarantees a hit if you land it when a survivor is approaching an area where their only option is "vault". If "run around the loop" is an option, you also don't get a hit.
• You're overrating Thanataphobia just a little bit. Even if it's active at full potency for the entire match, it only increases the amount of work that needs to be done on gens from 400 seconds to 464. Assuming RBT's work as intended, and assuming it takes 30 seconds to travel between and search each RBT. According to this graph, each time you force a survivor off the gens for 75 seconds you increase the time it takes the others to complete the gens by 18.75 seconds. Since you have four traps, that's an average increase of 75 seconds if all your traps are applied and taken off before endgame. That said, even though this is the best case scenario for Thanataphobia and just the average for RBT's, it's still super sad that Pig only barely edges it out. In any case, this doesn't make Legion better than Pig. Pig's dash is only situationally useful, true, but at least it isn't categorically useless for the entire second half of the chase, and she has stealth.

I think that issue mainly affects streamers and other more popular players than your average DBD enjoyer. I've been playing this game for quite a while on a daily basis and I'm fine. Anyways you can always get a VPN to play (NordVPN or atlas for example) if you're still worried. But from my experience it's fine playing.

I don’t think the headphones are the problem here... being that she’s a gamer, it’s more weird that she’s not being understanding. Maybe have her try a few matches of DBD, especially as killer, to maybe get a little empathy from her? Headphones as the only answer here is just going to make things worse from the sounds or the situation.

I'm personally biased towards the pig, I love the stealthy gameplay. A lot of people like Meyers but I'm not really a fan for some reason. Freddy was the last DLC I bought just because he's the weakest.

This is what I used to do to talk on Discord while also playing on Switch when Twitch streaming. A little uncomfortable but it worked. If it's an issue with DBD it'd be because the audio cues can be so advantageous.

For a bit of a more complicated solution, I now use an audio mixer to combine the PC + Switch audio into a single headphone. I specifically use this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000J5UEGQ but I bought it so many years ago that there might be different/better options out there now.

Requires a handful of adaptors and requires wired headphones (so USB / Bluetooth are not an option) and a bit overkill but... food for thought.

You don't need a VPN to play DBD. The worst that will happen if a person has your IP address is they DDoS you. Simply reset your router, get a new IP and problem solved. There is no real danger in others knowing your IP address. IP addresses are public, they're supposed to be public.

If you're overly paranoid and insist on using a VPN, use the free version of Windscribe, turn on split tunnelling and set it to only send DBD traffic through the VPN (using your normal connection for browsers / background tasks etc,). That way the free 10-15GB bandwidth should get you up 200-300 hours of playtime per month. I'd avoid most paid and free VPN's unless you've researched them thoroughly as many can and do harvest and sell far more than just your IP address.

Personally, I'd recommend ProtonVPN, Mullvad, IVPN and Windscribe. I'd avoid the likes of NordVPN, ExpressVPN and most other "popular" services.

There's madlads on LoL who have dozens of thousands of games in Bronze while some challengers gets in by just a few hundred games.

The hour correlation holds true for the learning curve, but as provided by LoL devs (because they're way clearer on those subjects than DBD devs :) ) this curve is a logarithmic curve, so the more the hours you spend on a champion, the less it is efficient in term of how much learning you actually get.

Considering it works the same for DBD, you don't need thousands of hours to master a killer nor the entire survivor side.

And this is even more true because the skill ceiling of DBD in term of survivor is very low and monotone (there's not any powers for survivors).

That being said, I still am confident that most very good survivors aka survivors that just know how to loop, spread, not get three gen'ed even when playing solo, and all this basic shit, on top of being able to perform decent mind games will shit on most mid to low tier killers.

Anyway, getting hit by DS depends on your playstyle. If your chases are long and you waste time kicking gens and not getting into your next chase, yea DS won't be a problem. My playstyle is heavy pressure, constant chasing, so I always have to be on the lookout for DS.
