(laughs) Love it. Manga is definitely an interesting experience. Just a side note, Vol. 1 is free on Amazon Kindle for prime customers! Link ~> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DZZWKG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_y.ipDbXSXBZBG
I actually did a little research into this.
BAA LO: Vol 15 Last Angel Standing was VIZ's last volume they published before they lost the rights and it changed to Kodansha.
From what I can understand, it was actually printed in limited quantities when it was released in October 2011.
Because of this, being hard to find, last volume printed by VIZ, etc, it has driven the price up insanely high. Ive seen volumes listed for over $500 or more. I don't know if anyone is actually buying them or not. Maybe collectors who must have all the individual volumes perhaps.
However, if you are trying to collect all of Last Order, you can find Volumes 1-14 fairly cheaply on Amazon and other places.
The only way you are going to get Volume 15 without paying a crazy price, is to buy the Kodansha OMNIBUS. (Which is what I did for my collection. I still want to buy Volumes 1-3 in the VIZ single volumes) My Collection
Battle Angel Alita: Last Order OMNIBUS Volume 5 contains volumes 13, 14 and 15 that were issued by VIZ. I hope this helps!
Poster on the left is a custom print. I had the frame already but nothing to put in it. Looked through my screenshot gallery on my tablet, I've been taking a ton of them when I see frames I like reading the Manga via Kindle, and chose one of my favorites. Ended up going with Poster Print Factory as they had a very straightforward upload tool & seemingly reasonable prices (this 18x28 was $24 before shipping). I must say they do a great job, both printing & packing the poster.
Feels a bit...dirty though. Not sure what the legality is behind printing & charging for somebody else's work, and I know the money isn't going to the creator etc.
The right poster was linked here on reddit, sold by amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07K5HWS2V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_GT5QCbQKBPKE9
Live action movie that everyone here hopes will be good. I for one think with Cameron and Rodriguez in the mix, I think it will be somewhat decent. Plus..we are getting new digital copies of the manga with a reworked translation? Did you all see that?
They are keeping it right to left as in the original Japanese, much higher quality are than any printed copy I have, and a re-done translation. You can view some previews to view the updates. The only thing I dislike is the floating city name "Zalem". It will always be Tiphares to me. Plus the new logo they are using now..very cool. Almost has a retro future look to it.

Hope these help!
I’m sure we’ll get something from Weta Workshop in the near future along with mini epics.
I also want more figures and merchandise.
[EDIT]
If you’re referring to art as in the posters or prints there is the art book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alita-Battle-Angel-Making-Movie/dp/1785658085
You can also follow the artist/designer who made the “doll body” on Instagram but I don’t have his instagram handle.
Can someone please add it.
Thanks
First the original series, which has a nice box set that is pretty much complete (https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Angel-Alita-Deluxe-Complete/dp/1632367114/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=alita+deluxe&qid=1623863127&sr=8-5)
Or you can track down the seperate volumes
Then the last order, which has omnibus 1 to 5, followed by volumes 16 to 19 (these never made it into an omnibus for some reason)
Then Mars chronicles, which is currently ongoing
Hope this helps!
That is awesome! I have the Deluxe edition box set, but everything else I've bought eBooks of. Glad I did. I had no idea the Omnibus Editions were that big!
For everyone asking- Amazon just got a restock of the Deluxe Edition. Well, "restock" might be a misnomer, as they are saying ships within 1-2 months. https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Angel-Alita-Deluxe-Complete/dp/1632367114/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3JQYUY9UNLRF1&keywords=alita+battle+angel+deluxe+edition&qid=1554569724&s=gateway&sprefix=alita+battle+angel+delu%2Caps%2C196&sr=8-4 But hey! At least they have it again!
Looks like they're back in stock on amazon so get them while you can!
That will depend heavily on a bunch of factors.
New or second handed?
Country?
Paperback of hardcover?
Promotion at a shop?
Shipping costs?
As a frame of reference, the complete original series, including all side stories, in the hardcover Deluxe Edition on Amazon is now $153. It used to be less a while ago, but they lowered the promotion it seems.
Note that this not include Last Order nor Mars Chronicle, only the original series.
Are you sure? There are perfect editions for the "normal" and for the last order. Normal: https://www.amazon.de/dp/3551723400/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_GTR692FBY55XE1460YDT Last order: https://www.amazon.de/dp/3551723419/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_KJ6ERXS73D7S59Y3MG5B
They're from different publishers. What you refer to as the scrapyard set is from Shueisha, released as the Ultra Jump collector's edition in 2010 while the other set is from Kodansha Comics released in 2018. The gold wraparound is usually just an eyecatching sort of ad for the series or related product that's common for some books in Japan.
If you are interested in the English Version you can find it both in digital form (kindle) and physical form. Every volume is available on amazon under the name: "Battle Angel Alita" for the original manga.
If you choose the digital version the first 3 episodes (IIRC) are free
Here is the vol.1
Note get the Omnibus Manga they combine 2 volumes into one book. These are the ones in the deluxe set... just not bundled.
Also note they are part of the Kindle Library... if you have that.
This is the first one that roughly matches the movie its a very nice hardback also. https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Angel-Alita-Vol-1-ebook/dp/B071DZZWKG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=alita+volume+1&qid=1552452185&s=books&sr=1-2
If you check Amazon.ca it still says it ships in 1-2 months but I ordered it on Mar 4 and it's on the way here. There was a sale and on the Canadian site it is still for sale, equivalent of 108 USD.
That's probably the easiest way :)
Personally, when I comment with images, I typically pre-upload the image to imgur.com and then copy the image URL into the comment. Extensions like Reddit Enhancement Suite can expand Imgur URLs in comments.
Thank you for posting this! I was curious about where to jump in and this is super helpful. I wanted to point out that Series 1 is available on Comixology Unlimited. I think new subscribers get 1 month free if someone wanted to binge read it.
https://www.comixology.com/ is where can purchase digital versions of comix
They also have Alita: https://www.comixology.com/search?search=alita
I'm not familiar with digital versions, though, I have the physicial books lying in my room
Always fascinating to see how an author's own past and previously ideas find their way in.
A couple more quotes from interviews:
"Originally, Panzer Kunst didn't appear in the manga when the series started. An editor advised me to put Alita in more dangerous situations and have her fight more, so from there I came up with the concept of Panzer Kunst. Around 1985, I had come up with an idea for battling cyborgs, and how they would fight in low or zero gravity, and so I reused this concept for Battle Angel Alita."
https://www.cbr.com/battle-angel-alita-yukito-kishiro-interview/
"Alita take places on a desolate future Earth that, following the ravages of a great war, is left more for a scrapyard than a planet. Only the massive floating city of Zalem speaks to the optimism that used to define humanity. That imagery was the first thing Kishiro thought of for his manga, which debuted in 1990.
"For me, the process was I sort of imagined the aerial elevator first, and the city that's floating in the sky," he explained. "Once I got that image in my head, that was the first part of my creative process."
"So very early on, this world setting is based on the idea of cyborgs, and I think in this era of cyborgs there's going to be some degree of merging organic flesh and cybernetic technology," he continued. "So I thought of what type of form would express that merge the best. What came to me was martial arts, and there are many ways you can explore that, as well as Motorball."
That looks nice but I haven't bought it. My friend who is a metal worker is making up one of these from the 3D prints:

Probably the Ars Magna art book.
Could be that there's no English version, I couldn't find it ad I vaguely remember someone saying it was worth it buying it in a language they didn't understand.
Do you mean the individual comics as they were released, or just to start the series from the beginning? If you mean the former, I think you're gonna be limited to highly-priced original prints, but if it's the latter you can pick up all the volumes really easily. Here's a link to the first one on Amazon uk (if you're in the US, you'll have to change stores).
Barnes & Noble sell the graphic novel
all though the movie is good, it skips stuff adds stuff etc
I would start with Battle Angel Alita Deluxe 1+2
work your way to 3-5
you'll start to see the big differences between the movie and the original Graphic novel.
the story is really amazing, just wish the movie was a bit more accurate.
maybe in the second movie it will stay more true?
Alita: Battle Angel - The Art and Making of the Movie https://www.amazon.com/dp/1785658085/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qBQDCbCNWPQF1 its 30 on amazon so not too bad. Also yeah man those figures are dope but I dont have 250 to throw at em especailly after multiple viewings and merch lol.
Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N8LKG4B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The seller has a ebay store also but they more expensive there.
I bought this set Battle Angel Alita Deluxe Complete Series Box Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/1632367114/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_EKgrDbXGNHP9Y Definitely worth it. Large pages, hardcover, and contains extra short stories. This is the original series the movie was based on. After this, there’s Battle Angel Alita Last Order and then Mars Chronicles. If you prefer reading on a tablet, they’re all available on Amazon in digital format that you can read using the Kindle or Comixoligy app.
oh shittt LINK , i need a SAUCEEE (just finished to watch the movie a 2nd time, all future anime adaptation needs to follow this movie as an example)
the link... getting it nowwwww LOL might as well get the manga collection as well.
That's 6 volumes of the Deluxe Editions, 5 of them are the 1) I described above and the 6th one is the "1.5") from above.
It says paperback so it might be the German version of the Last Order Omnibus.
