I've got a mi mix 2 I'm looking to upgrade from, has a bit of dust under the screen but been in case and screen protector so looks pretty much perfect (I've learnt since the last time when I broke one)
Are you sure it's the 1GB memory model?
By the looks of it here, on the EVGA's site, it seems like you have 2GB model.
In all honesty it's probably a bit underpowered for the 980Ti. Most games are still predominantly single threaded and this has a max turbo of 3.2GHz on one core so you'll be cpu limited.
In more modern titles like watch dogs 2 and gtav with great multicore scaling it will be much better. It has hyper threading so 4 more logical cores than an i5 which could make up for some of the differences in clock speed.
Going on benchmarks it's beating an i5 4460 & 4570 in passmark at 58% less power: 35W vs 84W in the link below but they edge it in single threaded workloads.

Pairing it with a 960/1060/rx470/285 in a mITX gaming rig/living room where noise/power are most important would be the best setup for the CPU in my opinion.
Regarding a motherboard, I have a Asus Z97 Maximus Ranger VII which would work with the above CPU, is great for overclocking and would work really well with that 980Ti you have. It's ATX though so depends on what size you're looking at.

I have a Xeon X5460 socket 771 CPU that I bought in error a little while back.
It's easily moddable to fit 775 motherboards and is known to overclock very well.
At standard clocks (4c/4t 3.16ghz) it beats pretty much all of the 775 chips. See CPU benchmark.
Paid £21 and haven't taken it out of the packet. Make me a sensible offer and it's yours.
