I believe the Helix uses a JST connector like you'd find on lots of RC aircraft. Something like this would probably work.
You can get 3M grip tape from Amazon. I buy the 1 inch and cut it in half or thirds. If you fold it, it will crease and you can cut on the line.

No, the ones to cut plastic tubing are different than the ones to cut metal. You want one meant for PVC pipe. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Bates-Choice-Pro-pipe-cutters/dp/B09BVXZBLN/ref=asc_df_B09BVXZBLN/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=598238949018&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8813725854707512911&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&...
I've been trying to do a meet/spin-jam every Sunday at the same location. The one on Aug 7th was probably the most successful, there were about 5 of us. (1 hooper, 2 staff, 1 poi and me [spinning EVERYTHING!]) We've gotten rained out a bunch since then.
I am also a member of the Northern NJ Spin Jam group on facebook which seemed to have a lot of initial interest early in the summer but not many events.
There seems to be a very active hooping scene in New York City, I know a few from Philadelphia, but you and I are sorta stuck in the middle(ish).
I've got a facebook group for spinners from or willing to travel to the Trenton/Mercer area for events called "Just Spin It", you're welcome to join if you want to catch up on or post more events.
Keep Spinning! :-)
Oh, I thought that it was an LED for some reason. No worries. It's actually quite simple to do if you just want a color or two and don't want patterns or the like. There is a cool site that has parts that you need to make it into an LED hoop, though if you want to send it in I would look at a company that already does LED hoops and see if they can customize it for you. LED Creations seems to be a good bet, I would talk to them about using your hoop as the tubing. I don't know how much they would take off seeing as tubing is not the expensive part.
I've been using wall mounted garden hose storage hangers. There's a lot of different styles and decorative designs.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T8RD16Y?ref=myi_title_dp&th=1 Hey you can try these out. When I am bored and want to watch TV and do some activities, I hoop using DynamicHoop 1.8 since i have steel like skin, lol. My wife uses PassionHoop 2.8 to gain core muscle and tone her waist line. Try these out.

I'm using these.
They will fit into 5/8" ID tubing with the LED strip, but it's kind of tight. I'm only placing about half of one holder in the 5/8": the rest of the electronics are inside the connector. The full 3/4" would be a lot better if you could go that big.
When my hoop and wicks came in the mail (in a pizza box haha), they came with a Dollar General-esque/cheap screwdriver but without the bits. As long as you safety check your props and parts before you burn, you should be fine. I've had the wicks on my hoop in the same place since I got it and put them on. It either hangs on a hook in my apartment or goes in my trunk no prob when I'm headed to my friends (I don't have a backyard/burn space of my own :( ) I've never used a lit breakdown hoop but I do recall the hoop feeling a lot heavier than throwing quick wicks on an hdpe.
