Here's one of the GameFAQ's topics where they did research.

But yeah, each enemy has a specific weakness type.
Agitha is weak to Fire.
Darunia and Volga are weak to Water.
Lana and Ruto are weak to Lightning.
Ganondorf, Midna, Zant, Ghirahim, Cia, and Wizzro are weak to Light.
Link, Impa, Sheik, Zelda, and Fi are weak to Darkness.
And Dark versions of commanders are still weak to the same element as their normal counterparts.
I thought each heart was 400 damage so it should be 1199.
Edit: If you think I'm wrong, tell me and show me why I'm wrong, but don't just downvote. As it turns out I'm not wrong, 4 hearts is 1200 damage, not 400.
Please check out this spreadsheet, too! It's chockful of useful Amiibo info.
We have a discussion about it here on GameFAQ's, where many users contributed data.
It works one full game, win or untill the allied base falls, but then you won't get anything you know that ;) You get like, 50 - 60 bronzes per game, you can only spend 20 max on a potion and you stop using bronze materials for the badges after leveling up once, which is really fast.. You are throwing away materials bascially by not using them. Also you don't have to save up anything, you can simply play again and again to farm your materials!
Here's a list of material ID and locations.
If you use a gold one on the last Legend map (originals, not DLC) and play it on easy you're farming 6 rank 3 swords with specials and 4-8 slots in under 10 minutes, with also a ganon drop, 2 arag drops and a potential ganondorf drop. It's really lucrative.
If I had the means to record any high quality footage, I'd definitely get some. For the time being, I might eventually record little clips with my shitty phone camera and upload them somewhere.
EDIT: For now, have this unrelated thing EDIT EDIT: AND THESE
I can't verify this myself, but I believe so. You should still have access to the Moon even after using the Song of Time as long as you activate the Owl Statue, according to other users.
Funny you should mention that... do the other two people who suggested Regular Attack+ only affects the first hit have the EU version?
However, there's also others on this side who've tested Regular Attack+ and found it to affect the whole string. Tables in particular was playing before the US version of the DLC even came out, so I don't think it's likely that a version difference is to blame.
Testing done. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/104011298558992378347/albums/6108401135561951169?authkey=CIzn6Krl7N2pPQ. Also, http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/745183-hyrule-warriors/71236005
Vs. Legend and Vs. Time are both effective against Young Link.
Is it really known that Zelda gives a new weapon? I don't read Japanese, but according to this gamefaqs thread, the twitter for the game (in Japanese) says Zelda just gives a weapon already in the game: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/745183-hyrule-warriors/70521738
Backfire: Certain enemy captains can be forced to make their charge-ups damage their allies. More detail thus: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/745183-hyrule-warriors/70292393
In brief:
All Lizalfos: Fire Breath, hit with Bow. Poe: Flame Wave, hit with Bow. All Aeralfos: Flying Flame Wave, hit with Bow. All Moblins: Spin attack, hit with Bombs. Redead/Gibdoes: Area scream, hit with Bow. Darknuts/Stalmaster: Unknown at present.
The only thing I found was a GameFAQs thread listing materials and where to find them: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/745183-hyrule-warriors/70183891
I was wondering if a guide on character badge paths existed as well...haven't found anything – the only tricky character (for me, so far) was Ghirahim's attack badges. You need Hylian Shirts for that, and you don't get those unless you play as a baddie on the Sealed Grounds or Hyrule Field (which is toward the very end of Legend mode).
I was thinking it would be nice to do it for all the characters for other people to use as a guide. There's this post on GameFAQs that has items by enemy, but I think it'd be nicer to have one by character (and maybe one by . I can put together a list of the items per badge per character. But I'm missing a few of the gold materials and I don't have the Great Fairy or Summoning Gate and I don't have Zant, Ghirahim, or Agitha unlocked yet.
Also would have liked Nabooru to make an appearance. Maybe in a DLC?
There's some confusion about what Agahnim really is. Big G calls him his "alter-ego" in the English version and bunshin in Japanese, so I'd take that as meaning he's basically a clone of Ganondorf. Alternatively, he could be like Sheik is to Zelda. Either way, it would be kind of weird for him to make an appearance considering G's state at the time. It could work, but they also probably wanted to do something with the Wizzrobe enemy class.
We also have Poes, so there's an overlap for disappearing magical enemies. Both have appeared as mini-bosses and bosses in the past, but if you want a semi-disposable underling character for Cia to order around, Wizzrobe seems just slightly more appropriate than a poe. I wouldn't be surprised if they had both versions sketched out.
Another thing to note, looking at the more recent post on the gamefaqs board http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/745183-hyrule-warriors/71255371?page=28
Every person who posted a picture of their weapon has rupees+ and EXP+ on it. Key313 did as well. Not sure what Swithe had as his video doesn't show it. I know the rupees+ is known, but no one has mentioned the exp+ on every weapon.
Do you have the first Illustration (True Partners)? It's a pretty good way to grind until you can reach Master Quest H-1, and it unlocks through Story Mode only. There are also several other "rack up KOs" maps in Master Quest that, while they aren't as good as H-1, are still decent. You can find a list here.
Here is what a group of people from gamefaqs came up with. For the most part, it seems that dartcorvus is correct about the water, fire, and lightning. Darkness and light seem to be eachother's counters. Enemies are usually resistant to their own element. Some of the weaknesses and resistances they have found are a bit unexpected though.

Weapon Upgrading
The most important thing about a weapon, in terms of raw power, is the number of stars. Each weapon can have 0-5 stars, and each additional star adds an additional 10% to attack power. Here’s the full list of stars and attack power:
Rank 1
0 Stars 80
1 Star 88
2 Stars 96
3 Stars 104
4 Stars 112
5 Stars 120
Rank 2
0 Stars 150
1 Star 165
2 Stars 180
3 Stars 195
4 Stars 210
5 Stars 225
Rank 3
0 Stars 280
1 Star 308
2 Stars 336
3 Stars 364
4 Stars 392
5 Stars 420
For example: Hylian Sword: Knight's Sword is Rank 1 White Sword is Rank 2 Wooden Sword is Rank 3
A Rank 3 Weapon will always be better then a Rank 2 Weapon, which will always be better then a Rank 1 Weapon. You unlock higher Rank Weapons through Legend Mode or mainly Adventure Mode.

Maybe it's something they removed while in the midst of working on the game?

Yup! Check this gameplay here and you'll see how it looks just like a Warriors game. Although it does seem slightly different, it's still totally a Warriors game at its core.
Just to clarify, this is Dragon Quest Heroes; there's only 2 of these games (and they're actually both available on Switch in Japan, here). The franchise they're based on is Dragon Quest, and those are definitely more traditional turn-based RPG (or maybe not turn-based, I'm not entirely sure). I haven't played the base DQ games, but I have seen the characters in Fortune Street (Nintendo/SquEnix crossover board game) and I have played a bit of DQ Heroes on PC. It was definitely fun, but I had other games that were more important at the time.
As for FEW.. I'm a bit torn on it. It's a fine Warriors game, but it's also.. different. There are a lot of references and story bits that you won't catch if you haven't played Awakening and Fates, and I guess the original game as well. If you have a 3DS, I would totally advise playing at least Awakening first, as it's the better game. Then you can appreciate what's been done in FEW
