I'd highly recommend just doing some self taught online stuff to begin with so you're not committing to a course and then finding out it's not for you.
Free code camp is great; "Learn to Code — For Free — Coding Courses for Busy People" https://www.freecodecamp.org
One option is that you could use a Raspberry Pi (£40) and RetroPie as an N64 emulator (or any/all retro consoles really). You'd need a couple of controllers but you can buy cheap USB ones for £10 each.
If you're interested in web development, I'd highly recommend The Odin Project. It's self-taught, but has an awesome Discord server run by volunteers where you can get help, ask questions, have your code reviewed and socialise!
I've been doing it since March, about 6 hours a day (with one month off for life reasons), and I feel very comfortable with all the basics of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JS, React, Git etc.) and could theoretically apply for jobs and be taken seriously. I'm just starting the backend section now (Node.js)!
It has you do some of the Free Code Camp modules to get you used to writing in code. The reason it's better is Free Code Camp teaches you how to "fill the gap" to answer pre-made questions, whereas the Odin Project makes sure you are learning how to set up a full dev environment and how to 'Google' your problems (the #1 key to being a competent developer).
Hello - I'm female and recently moved to Leeds - well 9 months ago. I'm still settling in but here's my tips that helped me stave off the loneliness because arriving in winter sucks!
If you're female (so your friend) you can join something called GirlCrew (great group, crap name). It started in Ireland from some girl who whacked herself on tinder as a guy to appear in (cis/hetero) female feeds because she wanted to party and her mates had all settled down. Now there's chapters all over the world. Look up GirlCrew Leeds on Facebook (actually, there's a spinoff called Leeds Ladies Social) because they're not letting new members join without being pushed to some app). Just a group of gals going for coffee, dinner and drinks and whatever else you want to really. I've made some as-solid-as-you-can-in-9-months mates from it so far.
Also meetup.com - haven't used this one yet.
Interest groups - I found a group of beer-loving ladies on Twitter and I'm in a craft beer group on FB that has a Yorkshire chapter so we're having a meet soon in Leeds. I guess, just put yourself out there. I never make friends randomly in bars and stuff here - usually have to have the thing in common first?
I actually need more mixed/guy mates et je ne trouvera un probleme si je pourrai rencontre les gens qui parlent les autres langues aussi!
For places - look up events at Left Bank, an old church that's now an event space with talks and stuff. And gigs - The Brudenell! Sheaf St Cafeteria has some cool events and print fairs on if you're into that.
Thank you for sharing :)
Kirkstall Valley Development Trust also have Wednesday Walkers if it's a walking group you're after. Along with another crafty and fun and engaging things https://bookwhen.com/kvdt
I'm there more often than not - but PM me first and I'll make sure I turn up.
My know-nothing guess is that it's likely overheating or that the power supply is browning out. Certainly worth giving it a clean - especially the cpu cooler.
BlueScreenView will give you better information about your previous crash screens, it might provide something more specific to google for: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
LHR has a tube station, on the Picadilly Line, goes straight to King's Cross, then get an LNER train from King's Cross to Leeds Station.
Book it using Trainline app, further in advance the better but as others have said, this may be risky if your flight is delayed.
Also look into some kind of discount Railcard (Student, Young Person's etc), up to a 1/3 off and the cost of one or two journeys will recoup the cost.
it's really difficult to know the answer here unfortunately.
I think you'll certainly be able to travel abroad from the UK in September but you'll need to be really careful about the status of Covid in the countries you're travelling to. 3rd waves, Covid variants, difficulties vaccinating in poorer countries - these are just a few reasons I can think of as to why things could change at any point.
With that said, I've found that most accomodation companies (booking.com, Hotels.com, Airbnb) are all really good now (I know booking were good beforehand as I used them a lot) with free cancellation and pay later offers. Which provides really risk free accommodation booking if you later decide not to travel.
Flights are always a bit more difficult to book ahead of time and worry about whether you'll get your money back - essentially, if the flight goes and you choose not to travel then you're a bit stuck. Even if you would have to quarantine for 2 weeks on arrival, as an example. That said, Covid has made many companies reevaluate their business models so maybe flight operators will increasingly offer more flexibility with their tickets than they used to.
Hope you get to travel safely soon though, so many great places to see. I've been to both those places and Budapest definitely was my preferred one, with the various ruins bars and spa pools, but Prague is a beautiful city too so you'll be great either way.
For the bus in to town assuming it's First bus you can download the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firstgroup.first.mtickets (which is crap) but if you can battle your way through it it you can buy 10 singles for £18. That will cover the first part of your journey. Might be worth getting an M-Card to cover the whole thing
Have you tried just walking straight into pubs, bars or restaurants (or anywhere) and asking the manager for work? If you come across well you’re pretty likely to get offered a job. Or if you want to spend time on learning for a career why not try web development https://www.freecodecamp.org
Currently reading through a few:
Musashi is a really well written (in my opinion) fictional biography of Miyamoto Musashi. It's really detailed, but super long at around 1000 pages. I'm reading an electronic copy of it, so I can't give you an exact page count.
Code Complete 2 is one of those modern classics in Computer Science, right up there with The Gang of Four and the Pragmatic Programmer. It's my 2nd time through, and I'm picking up of things that I'm not sure I picked up the first time through. Definitely worth a read if you're a software engineer, developer, programmer, or anything of that ilk.
Naze Besto is a Japanese parody of self help novels. It was produced "in universe" for the Japanese TV show Trick (which is totally worth watching, by the way) by one of the characters. Shortly after it debuted in the show, it was released in the real world. It's really absurd and has life tips like (and I'm paraphrasing here):
> Eat your food on the toilet, and you'll save 15 minutes a day. This will aggregate to decades adding to your life.
You're coming at a fun time for weather...
https://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/leeds/ls1-6/daily-weather-forecast/712327
"Thunder showers" today apparently and then the next few days is supposed to be an unpredictable mix of cloudy or showers but with sun and temps around 18C... so basically as others have said it's a layers job to cater for all options.
Be in position to stay dry but also to be cool, you might need to switch between these options every 5 minutes or if you walk into a shadow in the city centre where temperatures can be 10C less than outside the shadow ;)
And this isn't even taking the wind into account.
In all seriousness, depending on where you're going in Leeds, you're likely to be OK in normal summer clothes if you don't mind getting mildly moist if there's a shower and you can't get inside or under cover, you can bet your life the city and surrounding areas will be full of people dressed as if they're in 35C heat in the Greek Islands either way.
Worst case, we have shops that sell clothes and umbrellas.
Actually, some of my best friends have been extroverts. Its more large groups, small talk and that dreaded first period of 'acquaintances' I'm usually not so good with. I tend to value and thrive on the deeper connections, but I'm aware 9/10 you only get those by stumbling/working through those other things first.
I am using meetup.com with varied levels of success but the groups I'm most keen on going to typically take place just after my shifts end during weekdays. So for those I'm just waiting for the right day/moment where I'm not so drained and a little more on form to hopefully make a better first impression. For weekends however - not really found anything yet, hence the stumbling around between coffee shops, the one reliable venue where being a loner is considered part of the norm.
I adore films, writing, games, music and art (although my interests tend to be a little specific for the latter two). I'm also always keen on trying/discovering new things irrespective of the success on the attempts.
So yeah, if there are any other places/things you could suggest that would be amazing!

Again thanks
In not sure about thermals. Though there are thermal socks, gloves and hat's in 'B&M' which my dad swears by (he works outside year round)
The socks are the same as this but B&M is known for being cheap: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pairs-Heat-Holders-Ultimate-Thermal/dp/B005Z2AMZ6/ref=asc_df_B005Z2AMZ6/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=345545431903&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13114430502865416053&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=...
Link to processor. PC just been built and hasn't been in use (except to test)
Socialise or Part time job at one of the various Greek cafes/restaurants / other establishments?
There are various Meetups with people from different backgrounds including Leeds International.
There's a local company that runs a regular Meetup where people with different languages turn up to chat. It's run by English teachers but they may give you some pointers of you turn up.
https://www.meetup.com/Leeds-language-exchange
Leeds uni does (or did) occasional evening courses in various languages for a lot cheaper than 400.
Unfortunately I can't say whether Greek is represented in either of them.
There are plenty of apps out there, DuoLingo for example.
https://www.duolingo.com/course/el/en/Learn-Greek-Online
Memrise is good for stuff like that as well.
Hey, I'm an SEO in the Leeds area and judging by your budget in another comment, I'd echo the opinions of some of the others in this thread — stay away from really cheap SEO. I wouldn't retain a client for any less than £500/month bare minimum because there's no way I'd be able to do enough to show them a return with any less. You'd be better off putting a few months cash together and getting a decent, one-off audit or setup quote, then having a read through https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo and seeing how much you can implement yourself.
Feel free to PM me if you need some more direction!
I'm client based but spend a lot of time working from home. I've been meaning to try North Leeds Jelly but not had time. There's a review here http://issuu.com/suburbanmagazineleeds/docs/suburban_mag_area_c_ed3_v3_webqual and you can follow them on twitter (page 16), you can register here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/north-leeds-jelly-june-2015-tickets-16862374817?aff=erelexpsim and they're on twitter @northleedsjelly if anyone fancied meeting up to try it drop me a msg.
Don't know if it's any use to you, but I just found this over on gumtree, which is for sale in Moortown.
Also i find the website www.ents24.com easiest for planning gigs.
See you in the pit :)
This is the Never winter MMO I played http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter, it is a separate MMO as you said.
Working in IT is pretty nice compared to previous jobs I had working as a Chef and I also worked in a bank for a customer service advisor. I think the main difference is you have alot more freedom with your role, you are given a project with a deadline and as long as you meet it or give a good excuse to extend it, people are usually laid back unless you want to crunch it down as fast as possible.
It can also be the most stressful job at times depending on how technical your job is, personally the only stressful situations I have come across is getting some scripts working to automate some of my tasks but all the computer networking stuff is pretty standard.
Thirded ... spidey sense says power supply. Entirely because it only happens when firing up the graphics card to full power.
Cheap power supplies often cause random behavior (I have seen similar issues with a failing PSU on a GTX 960 which uses less power) as the CPU can get starved of power as it's regulators tend to run on 12v too). I always use quality power supplies from known manufacturers.
I'd download HWMonitor and see if your 12v line is 12v under general use (+/- 0.2v). If you can leave it open on a second screen or visible while a game is running in a window/with alt+tab see if your 12v line droops much from idle.
Here's another suggestion: buy a laptop power bank for less than £20 off Amazon and then go to whichever cafe you like.
Cheaper powerline sets are misleading. I've noticed this same thing on a few models.
They'll advertise something like 600Mbps powerline connection, or even faster. But when you look into it, the Ethernet ports are only 10/100. If you use fibre, like you can get up to 1Gbps on Virgin in Leeds, and use this you're not able to get anywhere near full speeds.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LXOZ4EN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_I01vFb00RSZ1W
This for example. The extender end even has 300Mbps WiFi, but the part you connect to your router only has 100Mbps Ethernet.
If they all use a common battery, then it seems to be a tabbed CR2025.
You all need to read 'Teach thissen Tyke' by Austin Mitchell it's a complete guide to speaking / understanding Yorkshire. Such as
Put wood int oil - put the wood in the hole - close the door
or
Youberrerlerrergerrithersen - You had better let her get it herself
Also contains classic fairy tales and bible stories translated into Yorkshire speyke.
I use these lights. They have a long enough battery life to do a full shift in December when it's early nights. The only issue I have found with them is the button can stick on the front light after it's been raining heavily but rain cannot kill them.
AWE® MicroFire™ Rechargeable Bicycle Silicone 4 LED's Front & 3 x LED's 360 Degree Rear USB 2.0 Light Set 50 Lumens https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BNPVS7O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Gt0Dzb1JR8W43
Application can often take just a few days but it takes longer over the summer as they are using the downtime to implement changes. (It gets quieter outside of term time because students make up the majority of the customers. Again availability matching means riders will still get the drops and won't be say around making nothing). It should take about two weeks to get through at the minute I understand.
Alot of riders work for both companies. Using Uber only when they don't have a shift with Deliveroo.
Amazon sell Gildan tshirts really cheap. Alot of bands and stuff use these for Merch. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gildan-Heavy-Cotton-T-Shirt-GD05-2/dp/B0041LHPMU/ref=sr_1_3?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1473713182&sr=1-3
For those of us old enough to remember the 90s, I'd recommend John Lake's trilogy.
Hot knife, Blowback and Speedbomb.

It sounds like you've given up diagnosing the problem, having lived in Leeds for a number of years now, I've owned a Nexus 4, 5 and 6 with little issue on Google Maps.
To answer your question, an alternative you may want to consider is Waze (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waze&hl=en_GB).
However, this will not solve your problems if your device is poor at identifying where it is, saving the area offline is a good idea. You could look into apps made by Garmin or uses Open Street Map to help get you around. Else I would suggest looking for a new phone or try changing your Android settings from relying on WiFi (aka High Accuracy Mode) to just GPS, or vice versa.
