YES! i use a service called if this than that, and you can set it up so that every day at like 6 you get a text with that day's weather! you dont even need any programming experience! https://ifttt.com/
Good call on the U2F security key! I use a Yubikey 5c NFC — it supports FIDO2 / U2F as well as Yubico’s protocol so covers all your hardware key compatibility cases.
I also use Bitwarden’s built in authenticator ( https://bitwarden.com/help/article/authenticator-keys/ ) which I can just run in a browser tab, desktop app etc. cuts out my need for a phone, and anywhere they produces a QR code to scan you can select “can’t scan” below it and it’ll print a string of text you can use instead of scanning the code! And you can use your fancy hardware key to 2FA into Bitwarden :-) ( just make sure to store your recovery code somewhere secure!)
Bought the G-Shock GA2100 in gray to match the LP, has stopwatch that I use for meditation, workout rest intervals, Wim Hof Method etc.
I found the black or grey G-Shock GA2100 compliments the phone pretty well. Add a grey/black silicone ring and you can be cast in the sequel to Oblivion if there ever is one :-)
Get a container of desiccant (probably something like that should work) fill a food container with that, and bury it in that for a couple of days before you turn it on again. (make sure you seal the food container so that it only has to absorb moisture from the phone and not from the room air.) I've done it before for another phone and it worked.
Are you using the Google Messages app? I.e., this app?
It definitely should have the settings to sync messages over the web. More detailed instructions are here (you want to use Option 2, with chat features off).
It has always worked for me, although I put my Fi SIM card in the Light Phone, not sure about forwarding. MMS does not work with Fi, FYI.
I'm using this smartphone holder for my car, it's super solid and can hold both large size smartphones and the Lightphone2 just the same (but avoid gripping it where the side buttons are)
As far as I know, the official LP2 case still goes for $25 (~£21).
The cheapest 3rd party case I know of is this on Amazon for $30 (~£25); it also doubles as a card holder. I used it myself and liked it, though the pronged hinges that hold the phone in the case are a bit flexible and therefore prone to snapping, which ended up happening to mine.
Alternatively, there's this guy who generously shared his own rendering of a case. With the free .stl file, you can 3D print the case for a good bit less than the one on Amazon. There's also the added bonus of choosing which material to construct it with. I don't have access to a 3D printer, so I paid Sculpteo to fabricate and ship it for $20 (~£16). If you know someone who will let you use their 3D printer, though, it's probably an even better deal.
If you need to get below £15, your best option might be to ask around either here or the LP2 Discord for a used case.
I’ve tried using IFTTT as a workaround for LP2 voice memos — call IFTTT and leave a voicemail that’s then saved somewhere I can read later (email, Dropbox, etc.). But the phone call trigger isn’t working reliably for me.
If you're into crosswords, etc., I'd keep something like this in your back pocket. Otherwise, read the ingredient list on shampoo bottles?
I had this iPhone mount on hand from my smartphone days and it actually works pretty well with my Light Phone. The little arms that are supposed to pop up and cradle the sides of the iPhone cradle the corners of the Light Phone. I imagine it might fall out if I hit any major potholes or sharp turns, but so far it has worked well for regular driving around town:

Yes! I’ve been experimenting with this myself. Heavyweight is one of my favorite podcasts, and it’s now a Spotify exclusive.
My workaround is to record the episodes (as M4A files) using Soundflower and QuickTime, then play those files with the Light Phone Music tool.
To record, I just play the episodes from the Heavyweight website in the background while I’m doing something else. Recording directly from Spotify would work, too — Soundflower can record from any audio source.
Soundflower is Mac-only, but I’m sure there’s a similar solution for Windows.
What carrier do you have? Honestly, a carrier change would be an option if you are losing that much battery.
I live in a rural area and with Verizon I get 2 days easy. After seeing the result on the battery survey (https://www.jotform.com/report/21333481612504630), 39% have more than 1 day of battery, 42% is between 12-24, and only 18% is less than 12hrs.
Here is some filtered data to understand the correlation between users and carriers in the US.
2+ Days (5 US responses)
1-2 Days (26 US responses)
Between 12-24 hrs (32 US responses)
Less than 12hrs (13 US responses)
These showcase that in the US Light phone users are more likely to see extended battery life (1-3 days) if they use Verizon. When LP2 users have less than 24hrs of battery life, it is split evenly. You can see more of the comments and some extra suggestions from people, but my recommendation is to try all the carriers you can and stick with the one that gives you the best coverage/battery life for the price.
the one i got that has the credit card holder on amazon has held up for almost a year now https://www.amazon.com/LightCase-Traveler-Case-Light-Phone/dp/B0843R2FY1/ref=sr\_1\_1\_sspa?keywords=light+phone+2+case&qid=1639866194&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyRkQ5UVdGTDhVOFVCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzMxNDY3...
> I can't imagine it would take that much battery if it updated once every minute, but I'm not really a software person so I dont know.
It's actually an electrical question, not a software question, which means I could take an uneducated guess at it.
It's suprisingly hard to find battery drain on e-ink screens, but I found a 3" low res screen that claims 26.4mW per refresh. LP2 has 3500 mW. Assuming LP2 has similar drain, the battery would be gone in 132 minutes.
Not that it'd necessarily be worth it, or worthy of any priority, but looking something up about my Calm subscription randomly came up with this (so I thought I'd share):
I can help you get play store... You need to use OpenGapps: https://opengapps.org/
You will have to install manually... There are guides online, depending on your preferences for which level of apps you use.
I can share my steps, but you'll need root to install gapps.
4 space indentation has defined a code block for a long time on reddit. It's been part of the Markdown specification (and variants) since I can remember. Figures that new reddit would fuck that up, too.
To solve the issue presented by using both USB -C and Micro USB devices; I got a four pack of these adapters off Amazon. Super cheap and work perfectly?

You can buy a voice recorder. I've owned one for years.
I just ordered this one: AINOPE 10000mah 18W Fast Charge Phone Battery Pack Tri-Output
There is another reddit thread here with a link to one that is 5000mah and it is thinner... and cheaper - I think it was this one: alongza portable battery pack
I'm assuming you mean a power bank not a charger since the chargers are already small hence portable. Nevertheless, here's a power bank same size as LP https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082X53VDL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That's awesome man, thanks for taking the time to respond to each of my points individually. It's safe to say I binged your YT channel prior to my purchase lol.
I'm also glad to hear the team are already aware/working on some of these things too - it will be great to see them getting rolled out. Even after just 1 day of using the phone I already feel so refreshed. E-ink has its drawbacks, sure... But I've come to totally love it.
Also, just after posting that message the case I ordered from Amazon got delivered. It's not the most ideal or elegant solution but it fits the phone snugly so if anyone is interested I will leave the link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001LGTYQS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (fits with & without case, but with the case it's a little tight)
I'm from the UK though so not sure if you will be able to purchase it elsewhere. Took me ages to find something small enough, but not too small lol.
Anyway, thanks again man. Hope you have an awesome day.
I've been using a Fidelo wallet lately that's worked really well so far! The nice thing is it has an opening on the top and bottom for the headphone jack and charging port so I can still charge/listen while it's in the wallet. Carrying around my ID and a credit card with it is nice too.

Edit: I should also add I could probably fit more cards and some bills if I wanted to, but I choose to just breakout the billfold if I really need to and default to the slim Fidelo wallet most days, keeping it as minimal as possible.

This is the one I use. I think that either jbriones85 or somebody else on this sub suggested it. It is a PERFECT fit for the phone even though it isn't intended to be used for that purpose. If you slide it into the case in a particular way, it is pretty much impossible to accidentally hit one of the buttons. The quality is top notch too. Super thick quality leather that smells nice. They have a crazy lifetime warranty too. Like a 100 or 200 year warranty or something. I would suggest you give this one a shot instead of spending $99 on the other one.
Btw, I for real bought nitrile gloves to install the new cover that I ordered because dealing with fingerprints / lint on my hands (despite being really careful) was such a pain the first time. I really would recommend getting them to make the job easier. I'm sure I'll be able to use the remaining gloves for painting, cleaning, etc.
The gloves are pricier than they normally would be (I bought a 100 ct box for ~$20) because of Covid.
also, fwiw, i got voice access from google working recently, now that i have play services working.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.accessibility.voiceaccess
very nice... being able to do voice to text and use voice to control the UI is nifty.
I wish i could change from a no to a yes. Btw, you could buy a cheap camera for under 50.
I've been using the fidelo wallet. Its a bit pricey but fits good.
someone posted an $8 leather wallet from amazon on here that I bought. Works perfectly.
