Also manage your expectations the folks on the show are professional actors so don't expect your friends to roleplay as well or do voices or for you to be able to be like Murph. Just relax and have fun!
I imagine them to look something like the vehicles from recent Magic: the Gathering sets. Specifically, a cross between the Weatherlight and Skysovereign.
fighters have actual class features, so it would be weird for them to forget how to fight as soon as they pick up a guitar. i would give them the ability scores (+ any ASIs they would get by level 10), and the HP associated with their real class at level 10. allow them to build their class ahead of time with the appropriate class features/skill proficiencies/feats, but keep all that behind the "door" so to speak. as soon as they get their artifact, all of their class features/skills/features will then unlock. that way the characters can tell that they're faster/stronger/smarter than everyone else, without knowing how to use it.
on the other hand, you could just use the commoner stat block https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Commoner#content and beef up their HP to match a level 10
What I do, and I’m sure what most DMs do, is you take a monster of the appropriate CR that has some basic flavor fitting the thing you want your party to fight. From there you can adjust its attacks, HP, AC, etc however you want. Like just last night I had friends over and wanted them to fight a big octopus monster. They’re a party of six level 3 characters. I took the Giant Constrictor Snake, a CR 2 monster, slapped another 30 HP, bumped its AC up by two, and gave it two attacks on its turn instead of one (like it was attacking with two its tentacles). Worked perfectly.
Like with Skullas, Murph could’ve just taken a bandit chief (https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Bandit%20Captain#content) and reflavored its weapon attacks as karate moves. The multiple attacks and parry ability are all in the same vein as a monk, so it works. No clue if that’s actually what he did or not, probably not, but you get the idea

This is the one I have. Has a really good breakdown of anatomy and materials.
I need to invest in some wood carving tools and cloth for clothing haha
I swear it’s like you have the same style as the taz adventure book https://www.amazon.ca/Adventure-Zone-Eleventh-Hour/dp/1250793785/ref=asc_df_1250793785/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=579171381758&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7838637887925022229&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvd...
If you google image search "lotr 50th anniversary edition ballantine" you should get some choice book covers. They are all stupendous. Here is the Hobbit version.
TheMysticMaze•1000-PieceJigsawPuzzlefromTheMagicPuzzleCompany•SeriesOne This is the puzzle she was talking about. My wife and I did it together and it’s a ton of fun.
I believe it was these puzzles
Magic Puzzles 3-Pack • Series One • The Happy Isles, The Mystic Maze, & The Sunny City • 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzles from The Magic Puzzle Company https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NDT2CD2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_i_BPDGJFQBHBN8X8DSBVHB
You can find the experience chart by level on the link below. If they were leveling up by pure mathematics (a system I've never known anyone to use), Balnor would hit 10 just before they leave 10, and would be playing a sort of catch up with an ever decreasing gap.
That's of course assuming they all gain XP equally.

They key to happiness is flexible expectations. My favorite Thursday podcast is now my favorite Friday podcast! I know that late eps can be really frustrating, but take this as an opportunity to branch out! Have you started Dungeons and Daddies yet? To help soothe the savage beast, I'll do my best to copy over any episode questions non-patreon listeners have over to the feed so they have a chance at getting answered. Part of the reason the pod is so good is because all of the crew are pro👏fess👏ion👏als👏. At least we're not missing entire weeks (like TAZ) or entire cast members (like CR). Send Murph the good editing vibes and Callough your Callays!

It's a game on Steam for playing all kinds of tabletop stuff, from board games to RPGs. I haven't tried it, but it seems pretty cool. I like that they have a bundle to buy four copies.
Zoa!!! I get the sugar-free original flavor, it’s delicious! Natural energy from more organic sources.
They came with a DM screen I bought from amazon. The dm screen itself is ok, nothing to write home to Daddy Murphy about, but those sheets are awesome. Maybe if I have time over the weekend I’ll scan them and post them here.
