Edit: I made/run the android app and can update the database anytime so message me if somethings off or there's another deal
There's an app called TicketBay (iPhone and Android links) that's specifically for OSU students to resell and buy football tickets. It lets you see average prices so you know what the typical asking price is, and tickets typically sell pretty quickly.
Disclaimer: I'm a developer on the app (sophomore majoring in Computer Science), but we made the app completely free and specifically to avoid selling/buying on Facebook/GroupMe. Let me know if you have any questions or issues!
> We've already seen 11F high temperature this month; January 21, last Monday, was that cold. OSU did not close then.
OSU was closed on 1/21 for MLK day.
If you're as cheap as I am, consider getting the cap and gown off of Amazon, the gown was $22 and the colored tassel I needed for my college was $6.
Here's a link to the cap and gown, I couldn't tell a difference than the $60 B&N option, though the hat was slightly different but not unless you were REALLY looking. The same seller sells different colored tassels, and the only difference I could see was that they weren't as thicc.
Unless it's hidden somewhere, I didn't have to pay anything for my diploma, and I can't find it on my statement of account. I wouldn't worry about transcripts until you need them either, though maybe I'm wrong and it's wise to get it early.
tl;dr: I spent a total of $28 for everything, not counting the student loans it took to get here
The new prof, Xinmiao Zhang, is essentially a robot that jumps around topic to topic without explaining anything, then makes the exams take years. She used to teach at Case Western and her reviews there are very reflective of our experience this semester.
Here's a similar one with 2 day shipping w/ Prime
Making this from scratch would probably take around 2 weeks. If you're still interested in getting one made from scratch, DM me.
There's an app called TicketBay (iPhone and Android links) that is designed specifically to help buy student football tickets. It lets you search by section, see average prices, and find the cheapest tickets.
Disclaimer: I'm a developer for the app (sophomore computer science student), but we made it completely free and specifically so you wouldn't have to use Reddit/Facebook/GroupMe. Let me know if you have any questions!
I have been using [Todoist](todoist.com) for the past few years and I wouldn't have been able to keep up with all of my work without it. You can set due dates, reminders, labels, sync it with your calendar, and organize everything by class (project) or set up filters to only show you what you want to see. The app itself is free but there is a $30/year subscription for the fancy extra features.
I'm seriously questioning whether you understand what a joke is or not. I'm not saying the tweet was funny but it was clearly a joke. There is no doubt about it.
"Spring break is ending" => "Delete your account"
Let me break it down for you: Wolfbad really enjoys spring break, so when OSU tweeted that it was ending, he said "Delete your account" because he didn't want OSU telling him that his spring break was ending.
I linked some of those words in case you didn't know what those mean either.
I can agree with you that the tweet was kind of weak but it was an attempt at comedy.
There's a commuter kitchen is located in room 3001B of the Ohio Union, next to the Sigma Phi Epsilon Commuter Lounge on the third floor - two friges, two microwaves, sink, countertops for meal prep.

I may be wrong but I just don’t see the university taking on the liability of handing out pepper spray.
Handle the situation for the low, low price of $12.99. This is cop stuff:

One of the cool things that TicketBay (iPhone and Android links) does is that it shows the average price for a game when you search for tickets. I just checked the Michigan game, and the current average price for Michigan is $315, but it seems like the cheapest tickets are around $250.
Disclaimer: I'm a developer on the app, and the more users we have, the better the app is for everyone. It's completely free to use, and it was made entirely by OSU students. Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer.
The beauty of CSE is that you can develop a portfolio using only a computer. To differentiate yourself from the crowd, spend a month developing a personal project, develop custom portfolio website using https://pages.github.com/ and put your personal project on it, contribute to open source projects on github. Put the code for everything up for public use on your github page and then include your github page and portfolio on your resume.
I've spoken with CSE recruiters over Reddit before and they have told me that an astonishingly small number of applicants will include a github page with their resume, so those that do are instantly moved into the "Worth considering" pile.
FastX is just a fancy ssh frontend with a little proprietary stuff going on, you don't really need it. All you need is to download a X11 server to your machine if you don't already have one. Since you have a mac, you can download XQuartz. Once you have that installed, just open up a console on your local machine and ssh into your stdlinux account via ssh -X [email protected]
. The -X
flag allows for X11 forwarding, which means once you're connected and have an X11 server locally installed, you can simply launch any graphical programs you want via the console (gedit
, for example).
As far as working on your linux skills, it depends on how much you want to learn. I'd say it's worth testing a distribution or two in a virtual machine, but if you don't really want to concern yourself with the installation process and how different system paths work, then using stdlinux is fine. You could probably get away with just playing around in the console on your mac, if all you're really worried about is navigating around and running programs.
I'm sure everyone has seen me spamming TicketBay (iPhone and Android links), but it's an app some other students and I made to sell OSU football tickets. It's completely free, and I sometimes put random bs in the middle of this block of text to see if anyone actually reads it.
Disclaimer: I hate spamming but my team put me in charge of Reddit marketing so here we are.
Loving the effort you put into this, and the details you gave us.
From his grad school: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=1198814
From his post doc: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=1958816
I found multiple CVs and a bunch of other stuff on the first page of google's search results.
depending on your dorm you can use push-pins, my roommates and i did that for our quad in drackett for posters and stuff and didn't get any fines. i think command strips like here would work just fine
I am an OSU Junior, and dealt with pretty severe depression and insomnia throughout my freshman year. CCS can be a great help, but if you're a fan of r/trees or enjoy drinking on the weekends, don't even bother bringing it up. The second I admitted to smoking pot in one of my sessions, that became a central focus of their counseling, despite the fact that it's never been a problem for me (contrarily, it's been therapeutic). When in doubt, just study/listen to music/browse reddit at Thompson or SEL, you're bound to meet people there eventually. Also, I remember thinking the whole "GET INVOLVED!!!!!" thing was total bullshit just pushed on you by FYE to make OSU seem like the place to be -- but I've become involved since, and it really gives you a self-affirming sense of direction and purpose. Just scroll through the list of OSU clubs, you'll find some really specific ones, the kinds where when you meet the members, you'll instantly relate. If you're an introvert like me, it can be tough with all the pressure from the tens of thousands of students who look like they're living it up and having the time of their lives with their bazillion friends. But there is no "ideal" college experience. Embrace your introspection, do some reading (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Siddhartha are both books that really helped me out), and don't worry about it if you only have a few friends you can really relate to. Sometimes those are the best kinds of relationships, even though their significance is drowned out by the sea of people you'll find here. Good luck.
There's an app called TicketBay (iPhone and Android links) which was made by students so that students could buy and sell student football tickets at OSU. It's completely free to use and lets you find tickets cheaper than you would on Ticketmaster.
Disclaimer: I'm a developer for the app, but the app gets better the more people that are using it. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be sure to answer.

Option 1: Buy a realm or hosted minecraft server from somewhere. Easiest but costs $$.
Option 2: Download MC server from here and then once you have it running download ngrok and run "ngrok tcp 25565" which will allow you to create a secure tunnel to your host on port 25565, allowing anybody to connect, skipping the portforwarding/other nonsense.
If you're interested in option 2 and have any questions let me know!
You should be just fine, the introductory workshops will teach you everything you need to know initially, and we'll have volunteers on hand to answer questions. Also, part of the idea is that you'll get a chance to make friends with more experienced coders and learn from them. Failing all that, google is always a good way to go - I went into my first CodeDay over the summer with no understanding of databases whatsoever and with a little digging managed to write all the database code for my team's project.
Alternately, apps usually require graphics, so if you're into design or art or that sort of thing you can always contribute to your team that way if you'd like.
Either way, if you'd like to get a head start on learning, I highly recommend Codecademy. We have some resources here as well.
They're all pretty much the same. Don't buy the expensive one they recommend from Barnes and Noble. You can get just as good of a set from Amazon for like, $20. This is the one I used
Dude, just go to The Open Source Club! We meet Thursdays at 7pm in Caldwell Labs 120, with free pizza. Just because we're a CSE/ECE club doesn't mean we only talk about computers, we have plenty of post-meeting discussion on everything from the week's headlines from Hacker News to watching random youtube videos. Also, shameless plug for my technical talk about cryptocurrencies at next week's meeting.
Just a heads up guys, this guy is still trying to make a profit off of you. If you have about thirty seconds to spare you can make this yourself through this link https://teespring.com/designs
It cost be $9.82 with free shipping. This guys option costs about $15.99 after shipping.
Depends on how cheap is cheap.
There is a hostel nearby that is $28/night and probably cheaper than any hotel you will find.
There are various AirBNB listings that will probably still be cheaper than most regular hotels.
And then there are a group of fairly inexpensive hotels on Olentangy River Road a couple miles north of campus. Any hotels downtown/short north will be more expensive.

Why am I posting this: I'm a senior veterinary student and I love cat behavior. I think one of the best things vets can do for their clients is help them better understand their pets. I posted about cat behavior on another subreddit a while back and a lot of people were interested. This is a great chance to learn more!
What time: Refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Lecture at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Veterinary Medical Center Auditorium 601 Vernon Tharp St. Columbus, OH 43210 (enter from the east side Coffey Road doors and go up the stairs)
About the man: Dr. Tony Buffington, DVM: veterinarian and professor of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Ohio State, has spent the past 30 years studying cats and how their environment affects their health. In 2014 he created one of the year’s most popular interactive iBooks, “Cat Mastery.”
He is founder of the Indoor Cat Initiative website, featuring strategies for keeping indoor-housed cats happy and healthy. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and has received numerous national and international awards.

Bart Snapp was my 1151 professor, and he was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and nice. He made going to lecture actually useful. He does all of his notes by hand and projects them on the screen, then scans them and puts them online during class. He was a great professor to start my college career with and I highly recommend him. He usually teaches the 1:50 to 2:45 pm lecture.
Edit: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=1620134
Also Zellmer is the only 1250 professor. I really love Zellmer but the class is very hard and requires a lot of outside work.
Hello there! :)
It will be available on all of the major podcast platforms. I am using the app Anchor (which is awesome!) to record. Anchor distributes your podcast to the major platforms like the Apple Podcast and Google Play. :)
It's still there, but it looks like the web client link is gone from the new site. Sorry about that, I'll log an issue and see if we can get it back.
In the mean time, click here.
Or, follow freenode's instructions for connecting with a real IRC client, then /join #osuosc.
The Transit app (App Store, Google Play) is also very helpful when planning a trip.
Please don't spend $300 on a text book... It's $45 to rent on amazon. Also just wait until classes start, for classes like biology it's likely the professor will say that everything you need to know is in the powerpoint.
This is a mask bracket, it’s something you can put inside the mask to create a little extra room so the mask isn’t up right against your mouth and it can make it feel much easier to breathe in. I also recommend masks where the front goes further out like these reusable masks, they look weird and they’re a bit more expensive, but similar to the bracket they have extra room so it doesn’t feel like you’re suffocating on fabric.
I bought my mattress from big lots. They have scheduled delivery. Then I bought this frame off amazon. It works great for me
Looks like big lots will only deliver to your door now, idk if that’s an issue for you. They’d won’t help bring it inside/upstairs due to covid
You need to isolate yourself from distractions. Put your phone on airplane mode (or even just turn it off). Use a website blocker to prevent yourself accessing the sites that distract you (reddit, social media, etc.)
Then break down what you need to do into small chunks. Maybe it's as simple as "read slides from Lecture X, then Lecture Y, then Lecture Z." Or maybe it's "write flashcards for Lecture X, then practice with Lecture X flashcards, then take the Lecture X practice questions from the textbook." Whatever it is, break it down into a distinct list. As you complete each step, mark it off, then take a quick break doing something NOT ONLINE. Maybe go get a snack/drink, take a short walk, play with your dog, stretch, etc. Then get back to the list.
I also think the library is the worst place to study, it's so distracting. I recommend an empty classroom.
Finally, if you're trying to isolate yourself acoustically using music, don't. Or at least don't use music you know that you'll end up paying attention to. I personally like to listen to video game soundtracks (big fan of Mass Effect and Stardew Valley for this) or classical piano music. You can also use white noise generators; I like the Relax Melodies app for white noise + storm sounds.
I haven't had that problem, myself, so I really can't offer a known solution. However, make sure that your firewall isn't blocking any of your connections while connected to OSU networks, and also play around the setting in Private Internet Access. It might be a good idea to mess around the connection types: tcp and udp.
I'm a CSE sophomore who (with some other students) made an app for reselling football tickets to other students called TicketBay (iPhone and Android links). It's completely free, very easy to use, and Indiana tickets currently have an average price of $66.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer!
TicketBay is an app (iPhone and Android links) that I made with some other friends. It's for selling tickets to other OSU students, and it's completely free.
If you download it and have any problems, let me know and we'll do our best to fix the code, or just stick our hands in and fix your account manually.
Football games aren't Sundays...are these the signs?
It looks like they say "no parking 7am-7pm football days except city permit something" and "no parking 6?am-6pm weekdays except city permit something".
This may be late, but if you head over to the ACA website and put in your information, it will tell you whether or not you qualify for things like Medicaid and how to proceed from there.
Inn town will really fuck you on itemized deductions at the end of the year.
Example: To replace a $60-$70 door (reinforced with cardboard) they will charge $900 to replace it because it is cut to 'special dimensions'
Not that you would need a door replaced per se, but I did not enjoy dealing with them.
Got it! Makes sense. Also convenient for last-minute procrastination prints.
If you go a while between using it, I'd recommend printing something small every few weeks that uses a bit of each color. Or, if you use it even less frequently, store it in a sealed plastic bag so it doesn't clog/dry.
Well, its better than both. Bitcoin is slow as shit and ETH is buggy as hell.
Im mostly in on NEO/ATS. BTW if you didn't know Antshares did a rebrand to NEO, as shown here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/neo/
I agree with what everyone has been saying about waiting until class starts. I highly recommend you check out abebooks.com. It has the "international edition" of text books. The international edition is literally the exact same text with a soft cover and non-glossy, black and white pages for a fraction of the price. For example...
Principles of Electronic Materials and Devices/SO KASAP/3rd edition
abebooks - $21.03 (new)
Amazon - $213.16 (new)
This was the first book I ordered from them. Got here in about a week from India.
http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=956671 based on those reviews I would go with Wenger, You really want to have someone that can explain the material really well for that class. Also, there is a slight possibility of the ole last second professor changes, just putting that out there.
This is a handy resource. I took a class with Jason Payne, got to watch a couple classics I wasn't wooed by but learned a lot about film and got an A. One of my favorite teachers but I don't see him on the schedule.
What do you mean? Do they revoke your student subscription if you don't tell them you're still a student after a period of time? Where do I renew my student account?
Found this: https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/student-discount-terms-and-conditions/
Not sure where I renew my student status. That's pretty shady, as it doesn't notify you when you lose your student status? And just starts charging you full price?
Based on this, he apparently used to be employed by the University of Waterloo. Here is his ratemyprofessors page from his time there, he seems to have rather good reviews!
I took a comp studies writing class (second year writing) and it was literally the easiest class I've ever had. Not sure if it fits your criteria, had it with John Moe. Read the comments.
I chose to take second physics over bio/chem Writing depends on section/teacher Software II is easy try to take it with Morris. Foundations take Doreen Close, easy (she doesn't curve) Stat with White was alright, just take notes in class Math depends on the teacher, avoid Alexander Dynin by all means
EDIT: When I said avoid Dynin! I MEAN DROP OUT IF YOU GET HIM.
I've been using JetBrains CLion for Systems 1. It has sshftp built in, so you can edit and save files directly to stdlinux without having to use FastX or any command line text editor.
We’ve resorted to this one for most of the summer. As you said, you’re paying a premium for an average product, but it’s better than some of the alternatives we’ve tried. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TS9C499/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_lTfsFbGFE47GE
A Bed wedge is another option and can be positioned several ways.
Mine is about a decade old, and two toner cartridges lasted me all of my schooling.
I definitely endorse Private Internet Access.
I wouldn't recommend free solutions as they are almost certainly willing and able to share you data with private and public entities, which defeats the purpose of using a VPN.
I'm a CSE major and some friends and I made an app called TicketBay (iPhone and Android links) that's free to help sell tickets to other OSU students.
Let me know if you have any issues and we can make them go away. Or fire a friend. Either works.
Edit: guys cmon we don't actually fire each other we just stop talking to them. Completely different.
I'm a developer for an app called TicketBay (iPhone and Android links) which was made by students so that students could buy and sell student football tickets at OSU. Im selling some aloe plants! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/242924686920341/
There are also plenty of great Facebook pages that list nice plants for sale. Great variety of plants and in my experience reaonably priced and in good condition!
Yes, I have.
I'm sure with the thousands of dollars you save you can buy a decent cooker/rice maker combo or a microwave. Sandwiches don't require a kitchen neither does soda or yogurt. I also cook shrimp and eggs in my instant ramen to make it a ton better. I also have this to make eggs for a tortilla wrap I have in the morning b4 workouts. There are a ton of options my dude! let me know if you need anymore ideas!

Econ 2001.01 isn't really a weed-out class, but Hajime's particular class certainly feels like it. His particular Microeconomics class is so much more difficult than the average Microeconomics class, from what I can determine. The textbook is INCREDIBLY disconnected from the content of the class; you can't study the book and expect to do well in his class. The notes he gives are repetitive and don't really teach you at the level he expects you to perform on the quizzes. And, once again, online resources teach you like the book does. Whereas you can prepare for quizzes and exams by studying the book for Ida, you cannot really study efficiently for Miyazaki using traditional methods; I'm meeting with him on Monday to discuss possible strategies for preparing for the quizzes/exams, lest my grade drops any lower. Rate my professor states that, typically, Ida has a 3 out of 5 easiness rating, while Hajime has a 1.7 out of 5 easiness rating.
Maybe I'm just an absolute moron, maybe I'm just so incredibly stupid. I've uploaded the recent quiz that I failed and the midterm I received an A on. Make of that what you will, and please respond on what you think about it. If you understand it easily, how do you prepare for it? Quiz: http://www.filedropper.com/e2001qz420151005 Exam: http://www.filedropper.com/e2001ex120150923 Thanks
Since masks are in short supply right now you can actually just stuff your nose with foam ear plugs. A cheap alternative and just as effective. Stay safe buckeyes <3
I’ve been using these masks and they are pretty comfortable to wear and not super expensive. I’ve heard that KN95 and KF94 masks are suitable options as well, but you just need to make sure that you are getting one that is actually as effective as it is supposed to be.
Cheap $24 2-person tent on Amazon, an Ozark Fail tent at Walmart is probably the same. I wouldn't trust it in a heavy thunderstorm but it would serve it's purpose here.
All it would take is one night and videos posted on social media of shivering cute blonde girls crying that OSU kicked them out of their dorm and had no where to go because couldn't afford big city hotel prices. If it made it to CNN, the administration would have buses lined up to take everyone to a hotel within 10 minutes.

Can't say for sure, and I have no idea about applying to grad school. When job searching though, it comes down to the particular situation. Yes, technically, the CSE degree is more valuable. However, many employers may be happy with any computer science degree; keep in mind that they're looking for more than just a degree. Projects and internships are big things employers love. If you have a CSE major with no experience vs. a CIS major with a nice internship and some side projects, the CIS major wins. Likewise, if you have two identical candidates, but one has a CSE degree and the other a CIS, then the CSE will probably be more desirable. And as I said before, there are jobs out there that may require the engineering aspect of the degree. It depends on how much the employer looks into the degree and gives value to it.
I guess the point is, the CSE degree is the better degree to get, but that doesn't mean that CIS majors will have trouble finding jobs just because they chose CIS over CSE. CSE may have some more job opportunities open, but both are still viable. Do what works best for you :)
As for graduating in three years, maybe! I'm not gonna do that math for you ;P During your freshman year at OSU, you're going to take a "survey class" that goes all over the major requirements, and gives you a chance to plan your schedule out. Here is a nice Excel doc that allows you to list out and plan out your next four years. Follow the bingo sheet and see what you can do. (Note: you did mention you're undeclared, so you'll be in the 'undeclared' survey class instead of the CSE/CIS one...if you know you want to do CSE/CIS, I'd switch into that major ASAP)
Ultimately before making you decision, I'd recommend talking to an adviser. The CSE advisers are generally great and have walk-in hours, so talk to them for specifics!
Not the holy grail? His ratings are pretty good. Bruce is a nice professor. Had him for 2000 and for 4490H. Really knows his stuff and if you ever go to his office hours he likes to talk to you and ask about what you plan to do after graduation and such. The material isn't difficult but it's a lot of memorizing really. Straight from the powerpoint's though. If you can take it online, DO IT (ie ctlf+f for the exams)

I know how, as I hope most do, to look past some of the reviews on RMP for people just whining, but of 10+ people I asked this past semester about 3470, they said it was an entirely wasted semester and they'll be happy to be done and just take the C. This thread was my attempt to, uh, not waste time.
Headspace is a great app for meditation, especially if you are new to it. In addition to working with a therapist, you might try that a few times a week to start (it also has great wind-downs and music for falling asleep).
Normally it's pretty expensive, but they have a student option for $10/year. https://www.headspace.com/studentplan
There are a lot of hotels at Dublin-Granville Road and 71 - I stayed at the Country inn & Suites there before my orientation. The front desk person was asleep when I arrived around midnight to check in, but that meant I could pocket several of their chocolate chip cookies before waking him. Those are about a 15 minute drive from campus without traffic.
he Varsity Inn Hotel is $82 for the night of 5/17 - that's the cheapest hotel very close to campus. There are a bunch of hotels in the Columbus area for $40-$60/night. Use Kayak to find 'em, and cross-reference with Tripadvisor reviews to be sure they're not awful.
But I'd recommend Airbnb over a hotel. You'll be closer and it'll be cheaper, though you won't always get breakfast like you would at most cheap hotels. If you don't have an account yet, message me your email address - I can refer you, and we both get a $25 credit, which would pay for about half of your room near campus for one night.
It's not very detailed because they have a number of professors and they each teach different subjects. But if you want me to send you the powerpoints too let me know.
I'm confident you can do it yourself. People have posted you some good links so far. The pcmr builds are a good start. There are some decent deals at Micro center of Bethel Rd. I just built an i5 on a z170 motherboard as I didn't have a huge budget. The board was only $40 since the z270 is newer and they were clearing them out.
What's your budget?
If you really don't want to build it your self, they typically have a few great deals on completed systems, such as Power Spec. Especially if you can find an open item. Here is one example under $1000 http://www.microcenter.com/product/475437/G314_Desktop_Computer?ob=1
I'm an Intel/Nvidia fan. I'd get something with at least an i5 and a 1070 if you can afford it.
Will you have a budget for a 144 hz and gsync monitor?
EDIT: HP Omen PC with either i5 7400 and GTX 1060 3GB for $649.00 or i7 7700 with GTX 1070 8GB for $799.00 refurb, but is a decent deal on woot: https://slickdeals.net/f/10489928-hp-omen-gaming-desktop-intel-7th-gen-core-i-series-processor-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-or-1070-ddr4-memory-1tb-sata-802-11ac-bluetooth-win10h-factory-reconditioned?v=1
Here’s a link to the open letter that’s asks for more support for international students.
B*tchinBuckeyeProf ftw! I have tried this a few times with a couple different people and it doesn’t actually give the full CC Suite as OSU advertises.
According to TechRadar, Adobe is giving away free access to students temporarily, but you have to do something through this: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=Wht7-jR7h0OUrtLBeN7O4WsTc3KjN4xJpPpf5AwKlwJUN1BaMUU0S0I3MDlQUk03MENXMlZCNkcwWS4u. It’s weird, but what I read from the article.
Yeah I took a W in math 1152 last semester at main campus. It wasn't any fun.
I had Casukhela Kameswarrao for Precalc and Javad Abdalkhani for Calc 1 at Lima and enjoyed them both... but if you do end up taking 1152 at Columbus State, I'd recommend Ken Seidel, as would everyone else.
I have him as well for this class. Seems like this might be the same guy, because he is listed as teaching computer science at Ohio University: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=1700145
How to fix problem #2
1) Don't join the chrome botnet, if you insist on chrome use this (https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium) .
2) Firefox works well
3) If you want to be a real edgelord use webkit nightly or firefox nightly (bleeding edge, all the kids in dreese labs will be jelly)
> How come we are never given proper situations?
In real life, even seemingly easy proper situations are pretty complex, and rarely solved by one person in the duration of a course assignment.
Check out elasticsearch's lucene relevance scoring docs. None of that math is all that sophisticated, it's just clever and took lots of people a lot of work to develop a way to search some text and get back some valid results.
R's pretty simple - it's a very forgiving language, and you won't really need to do that much in the way of full-on programming. There's a lot of help available online for it, where you can look up various methods and what they do (also the help function in RStudio is generally very good).
There's a bunch of R cheat sheets provided here that may look vaguely terrifying, but don't worry about that - the Base R one will get you through a lot of what you need at the start, and the rest will be mostly functions that you'll pick up along the way. Also, I know in my section of 3201, we had an entire class dedicated to introductory R coding - you can take the example code there and look through it when you're trying to write your own code, and you'll get a lot of help from it.
To answer your question, no, I don't know of any pickup ultimate already organized.
That being said, I don't see why we couldn't organize something through /r/OSU and post open invitations here. I love playing ultimate for fun and I'm sure there are at least a handful of people lurking this sub who would also jump in to some pick up games.
Beekman and Coffey Road parks usually look like they have plenty of room weekday evenings, for what it's worth.
EDIT:
~~Just for shits and gigs, I made a survey to see if there's any interest on /r/OSU.~~

Disregard, u/bpolly has the best answer :)
Oil filled radiator like this works way better than an electric space heater. This is also safer, it takes about 15-20 min to warm up fully, but it's really efficient and safe.
I'm in an old apartment with thin walls and ceilings. I can hear my neighbors' conversations, and.. uh.. more private interactions very clearly. I bought a big jar of soft foam earplugs from Amazon for a few bucks, because I want to sleep but I don't think it's fair to bug my neighbors about just living their life. Been sleeping with earplugs every night for years now, and it works like a charm.

This is what I see most girls wear!
Amazon's First Option (not a ref link) has been great for me. Laptop goes closest to your back, then has a smaller iPad slot right against it that works great. Lots of random pockets for really anything you need, and is fairly comfortable.
I agree with u/bezelssavephones, I got this ASUS gaming laptop on Prime Day in 2018, and it’s still perfect to this day. It was more than powerful enough for all of the engineering software I needed (MATLAB, Solidworks, etc.) along with some light gaming (although I don’t care about that aspect that much). I got it for $729.
I would look for something similar going on sale this coming Prime day.
I have been downvoted to oblivion on this sub for suggesting it before but I suggest a quick read of the classic How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie or any of the updated versions. Should be available in any library. At a minimum it is food for thought.
Jeez sorry to hear that dude!! they have a chip you can put on your bike for identification if it turns up in a store!! I also have one of these on my bike in case it gets stolen
So, you can do this yourself. I don't think it's going to work all that well though. I lived through the late 80's and early 90's personalization of all the things craze and for this task, I'd use paint pens. I'm not terribly familiar with the hydroflask brand, but from a google it looks like it would work. A rougher texture to the outside would hold paint better.
I'm assuming you aren't planning on putting this in the dishwasher, merely rinsing it out. If you're planning to do that, or put it in the sink with other dishes, to soak, doing anything outside of simply rinsing the inside, don't do that. This is not food safe paint and unless you're doing ceramics and baking all that in, there's no such thing that will do what you want it to.
You can get these at Michaels or Hobby Lobby probably 2 bucks a pen or so. You can also get some on amazon:
I don't have any experience with the latter, so I'd read reviews.
As to the artistic point. You can print out clouds, tape them to the water bottle and trace them. You could do some parting clouds over your name/initials/monogram a la the Simpsons. Maybe a rainbow? I'd love a rainbow aesthetic in kind of a 70's way- like it winds itself around the bottle being funky. We made 70s funky letters back in the day by writing bubble letters and then tracing around them with all the colors.
Or, you could just buy some cool stickers like the Nalgene contingent and call it a day. I really don't think the paint is going to hold up.
I see y'all have never heard of Nova Launcher and Kustom Live Wallpaper for Android.
