I've always used a monitor stand for my old Xbox 360, and now my PS4.
BenQ Zowie monitors are usually the most popular 1080 gaming monitors. They’re cheap, have super low input lag, low flicker, low blue light and they are used in almost all eSport tournaments.
Would something like a USB extender work? So you can just plug the cable into the back Port and move the other end up front to keep you from having to move your PS4 around?
AmazonBasics USB 3.0 Extension Cable - A-Male to A-Female Adapter Cord- 9.8 Feet (3.0 Meters) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NH12O5I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mY2cEbJFHYR4F
This is great and all, but just buy one of these and set things up proper.
TV panels actually have a lot of variation and blindly copying settings that may work on another panel has about as high of a chance working as you and me winning the lottery on the same day.
Yes, even with OLED.
I don't think it's naive to expect developers to support their games post-launch. That's how it SHOULD be. It's ridiculous how rare it is for developers to provide support in the form of patches/performance updates for more than like, a month. However, games like AC: Unity (which have serious performance issues) will most likely never get Pro support patched in, due to publishers essentially wiping their slates and directing focus towards sequels. Ugh, it's especially frustrating with Unreal Engine 4 games, since Pro support can be enabled easily. (if they are using version 4.13 of the engine).
Dunno, but I just bought a simple one for 10 bucks from Amazon. has lots of vents on the bottom and gives a bit more stability... (I am NOT affiliated with them... just a happy customer)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQSWMSS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My bad, got them both from Amazon.
TL-DR: You TV is probably displaying the colour correctly, many game dev still don't have proper HDR.
Is a complex problem but I'll try to explain in simple terms.
Most of the HDR TVs on the market can show a good percentage (96%~99%) of the ICP-3 colour space. This means that when they shows standard colour (BT-709) they are underused.
Because the brighter and more colourful TV is the one that sell better the complete totality of TVs on the market when showing an SDR (BT-709) signal extend the colour space as much as they can.
When showing an HDR signal the TV must instead correctly display the signal that it receive. Many games developer's pipeline are still tied to BT-709. So when rendering in HDR the colour space outputed is restricted to BT-709, and the TV can't apply any colour space expansion.
Another problem that is quite common in many game that don't do HDR correctly is the OOTF. Basically the curve between photo acquisition and manipulation and SDR ouput is not linear, but all the TV pretend that is linear. In HDR there are no adjustment, so if the game has been designed with SDR in mind the HDR version must be manually adjusted.
One good example of HDR is GT sport. The game has been designed for HDR and applies all the proper coorection. So in SDR you may probably still see more saturated colour but also less details.
Sorry, the only slides that explain how GT is made and the complexity behind it are in japanese. https://www.slideshare.net/nikuque/hdr-theory-and-practicce-jp
I used these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074K55CWF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_BVGTCKFYJEDF02R2577J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 they did the job well. If you want better stuff the arctic pads are supposedly better.
I place mine on a "Laptop cooling pad" one like this from Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NNMB3KS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
While playing AC odyssey on 4k, I cant hear it at all. its also in a media shelf below the Telly. I cant recommend using one enough if you have the space.
I had black screen and flickering with my pro and my 4k TV. I've read many people say all you need is the cable that came with the PlayStation. While this may be true for many, it's not true for all. I bought this one from Monoprice on Amazon and problem solved. I'd try the cable that comes with it first, of course.
looks like you used the wrong thermal pads so they probably aren’t making contact and basically not working.
1mm not 0.5mm
Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad 8 Thermal Pad, 120 × 20 × 1.0 mm, 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZJSBRE6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_e87zFb823RK97
I couldn’t find anything on that tv. I would just calibrate it to your liking using these website tools
You can use this article for help even though it’s old.
Im a big fan of Sony TVs, particularly the Bravia and Trinitron models. I got this 43" Bravia for my PS4 pro bedroom setup and im happy with the performance. Blacks arent perfect but thats typical of IPS screens. Its a great set for the price. Also comes with android TV which means you can run emulators on it haha. It runs up to dreamcast smoothly and memory is expandable via USB. Bluetooth controllers like the PS4/xbox pad work well and likewise the tv remote can control the PS4.

That cable looks kinda thin to be a data cable as well. Try one like this https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Male-Micro-Cable-Black/dp/B0711PVX6Z/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=micro+usb+cable&qid=1603230601&sr=8-3
Yes, it is indeed the thermal paste and the pads.
I changed the paste and the pads one week ago. I had a Boing 747 in my Cave. After changing paste and pads, it´s almost to quiet - so, it will help.
I bought Thermal Grizzly Paste (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A9KIGSI/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o01\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and Artic Thermal Pads (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UYTTXSM/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
Something as simple as this would cover you. When your power goes out, it will allow you enough time to safely shutdown your PS4 until the power returns.
If you have the money you can buy larger capacity versions that provide more power for longer.
https://www.amazon.com/APC-Back-UPS-Battery-Protector-BR1500G/dp/B002RCNX8K?th=1
I bought this for my PS4 pro last year.
Crucial MX500 1 TB CT1000MX500SSD1(Z)-Up to 560 MB/s (3D NAND, SATA, 2.5 Inch, Internal SSD), Grey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077SF8KMG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_R74495ZF8H475H8YH3TM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Boots quicker and I noticed a difference in loading times in some games. I think it’s worth the upgrade
Any 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD will be more than fast enough. For example, this WD Blue 1TB SSD: https://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Blue-NAND-Internal-Inch/dp/B073SBQMCX/
All you need to do is make sure it's a 2.5" SATA SSD, not an m.2 SATA or NVMe SSD. Ideally, it'd be a TLC drive (i.e. not QLC) but for the PS4 Pro there won't be much of a difference. The WD I linked to is TLC.
The problem most likely isn't the TV but your receiver, the Denon is essentially another display, this is what the PS4 Pro is reading for display features support not the OLED TV.
On the Denon you must go into it's settings and change the 4K signal format to enhanced to allow 4k 60Hz HDR (page 152 of manual).
Lastly 4K HDR requires "premium high speed" rated HDMI cables, "high speed" cables are a bit of a gamble as are Amazon basics.
Look on Amazon for certified premium high speed HDMI cables, they arent expensive but they should have the HDMI group logo on the packaging. Like the example below
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-121510-Certified-Premium-18Gbps/dp/B06X3QDY4M/

Grab a $6 Certified Monoprice HDMI cable off amazon if you’re in the states.
Had the same problem, got the cable and the problem hasn’t returned.
kontrol freaks will damage the sticks, dont get them. I like kontrol freaks and think they are great, but they will damage your controller slightly. Look for decent thumb stick covers/caps like skull co. https://www.amazon.com/Joystick-Analog-Nintendo-Switch-Controller-3Pairs/dp/B079811C49/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1536444654&sr=8-3&keywords=Skull+%26+Co.&dpID=41lxErVcoxL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
Since you link to tinker, and if you don't mind reading a fair bit and are fairly technical you can learn to do it yourself (that's what I'm doing), there's some freeware/donateware calibration software you can use and forums dedicated to helping people learn. There's even a thread for that freeware, as the developer is a regular there and will answer any questions you have. Only problem with that is you'd have to drop at least $250 on a colorimeter, in order to use the software, which at that point it might be best just to use the free coupon.
The nice thing about these TVs is they have both 2-point and 10-point white balance controls, and that's where you see the huge difference in picture/color quality. Once I dialed all that in, it was like night and day to just doing a brightness and contrast and color/tint calibration, and I'm still not 100% done yet. Still learning what to, and what not to do so it's a work in progress for me. Professionals should obviously get it right the first time. :P
Edit: Just realized the pic you linked is from the same forums I linked. Great forum if you are really into AV stuff.
Buy it from Costco. 90 days return policy. The KS8000 is a KS800D at Costco. Exactly the same just different model # to prevent price matching from else where. I bought the 65" KS900D (which is a KS9000) and have had Costco price match their own offering 4 times. From $3179 to $2579, $2570 plus a blu-ray player, then $2179, and today $1979 in less than 60 days. Plus their add-on warranty ($80) is worth it and cheap. Extends the warranty to 5 years. For the blu-ray bundle I had to buy another one and return that one with the old receipt to get the player advised by a Costco employee. They wouldn't allow me to get it prior the bundle. Costco is the best.
Here's the link to Costco KS8000 55": http://www.costco.com/Samsung-55%22-Class-(54.6%22-Diag)-4K-SUHD-LED-LCD-TV-UN55KS800DFXZA.product.100290949.html 65": http://www.costco.com/Samsung-65%22-Class-(64.5%22-Diag)-4K-SUHD-LED-LCD-TV-UN65KS800DFXZA.product.100289903.html
If the price goes down within 90 days, just go to the Costco store with your Costco receipt and ask for a refund if the difference.
Yes it's not bad but the best Samsung around at the moment is only slightly more expensive: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-UN55KS8000FXZA-55-4K-Ultra-HD-2160p-120Hz-LED-Smart-HDTV-4K-x-2K/50213182
There are some benefits using the Unreal Engine in 1080p which sound like they might be quite easy to enable:
https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/leveraging-playstation-4-pro-for-your-ps4-game
But I'm not really clear about what exactly they are.
If you are going to go this route, might as well do it through Walmart for $699.99
With 32” 4K you get 137 ppi.
With 43” 4K you get 102 ppi.
PPI is Pixel Per Inch. The higher the better, BUT you should consider the distance between you and the TV. Example: your phone probably has 5” or 6” screen with 1080p resolution or higher, and that’s great for devices that you use up close so you don’t see any pixels.
If you sit very very close to the TV, you should get the 32”. Otherwise go for 43”.
I have 65” 4K, and I sit ~3 meters away from the TV. Sometimes I see pixels, sometimes I don’t. I just wish I’ve gone for 55”. But that’s just me.
Good luck.
This website should help you calculate PPI if you want to consider other options.
I would recommend the Samsung EVO 870. I've been using Samsung SSDs for years and have had no issues.
I’d say HD most likely gone bad. You can get 1T ssd for pretty cheap. SAMSUNG 870 QVO SATA III 2.5" SSD 1TB (MZ-77Q1T0B) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089C73T72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K15CHY400PDJRRS8NFAC
Hey! https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Cooling-KSB0912HE-CK2MC-Console/dp/B075R3W8V7 this is the fan I bought its like 34ish dollars, and it worked pretty well for me.( my ps4 is also like 6 years old) hopefully you can fix your issue
Replace your thermal paste and pads. It’s a major difference.
I used this paste: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011F7W3LU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_JA34XQFst5m87
And these pads: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZJSBRE6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_R6KKWwpD6P2j1
I looked for videos on youtube, watched 5-6 of them, and then did the tear down following the one i liked the best.
I bought these they're a little big so you might wanna have a pair of scissors on hand to trim them down, but they were easy to apply. Just place them exactly where the old ones were and you should be good.
I've used this paste and this pads but mine has better conductivity (11W). Find a disassembly video on YT for your model, not all are the same. I also do an internal layout sketch on a sheet of paper marking screws positions, not to mess up when putting it back together. Cover the RAM whole with pads, not just center as Sony does,. Takes about 2-3 hours first time, just follow step by step. Makes a huge difference in noise in most games, GOW was still loud for me even after all of this. Good luck.
For the tools you will need a torx security (T8) screwdriver and small precision phillips (star) screw driver as well.
Nothing fancy, these will do the trick https://www.harborfreight.com/search?q=precision%20screwdriver%20set
Torx security screwdriver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCSQXSM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3E2X1XCMTPXA8GJEBCMJ
For the thermal paste and pads I have used artcic mx-4 and arctic thermal pads too. I would not go with the cheap thermal pads, tempting as the price may seem, but that's just me. Whatever pads you choose make sure they're 1mm thick. Arctic has a 50x50x1 mm pad that gives you plenty for a ps4 pro. You'll need to cut it into small squares roughly 10x10 mm.
Another recommendation is if you're gonna go through the trouble of changing the pads & paste, you might as well change the fan too.
Some canned air and a brush might come in handy too.
Depending on how handy you are, you may need about 5 hrs to get the whole thing done. I would also recommend you take pics as you are disassembling the ps4 cuz there are way too many screws and you might forget to put some back (I did 😆)
Are you sure that's the model, the one of the picture is from the first ps4 pro 70XX MODELS or 71XX.
This should work
I used the Samsung 860 EVO. Direct fit and it drastically cut load times. I had it for two years in my PS4 Pro with no issues. I'm currently using it to run PS4 games on my PS5.
Are you sure? Because you could get these sexy AF rose gold ones for only $99. Just think how pretty they'd make you feel. https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Gold-Wireless-Headset-Gaming-Console/dp/B07WJ1FGZK/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1UCUY348UE3HV&dchild=1&keywords=playstation+gold+headset&qid=1612977522&s=videogames&sprefix=playstation+gold+he%2Caps%2C209&sr=1-2

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089C73T72/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Load times were substantially faster and overall performance improved for me. I should have done it much sooner :-) The whole process took about 15 minutes including install of PS operating system and my backup restore. Good luck with your upgrade.
That monitor has a dvi port. Rather use an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/Importer520-Plated-Female-DVI-D-Adapter/dp/B0035B4LJM
I used one for ages with my og ps4 and pro without issues.
Right now you are converting a digital signal to analog. Dvi is also digital so no conversion necessary. Less issues.
I replaced both at same time and got way better performance and cooling. Super quiet. I used the grizzly paste and grizzly pads. Very good quality.
Here’s a link to the pads. Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad 8... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZJSBRE6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

henry portrait of a serial killer? with the ASIN number you canfind information online...check in the second picture, back cover, where are the specs, it says "A" below the runtime (82 minutes), if this indeed the movie you're asking then yes, your North American ps4 will play it

I picked up a Samsung 28" for my gaming monitor, I'm holding off until I move in my new house to buy a 60"+ oled hdr TV.
Amazon had it as low as $339 and got Best Buy to price match it. Plus I had a $200 gift card to use there.
Samsung U28E590D 28-Inch UHD LED-Lit Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YD3DBOC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_yLoiybR3YQ422
I saw a 40" Samsung at Best Buy yesterday that was 4k and HDR for $400. Not sure how great it is though off hand...
Here is an amazon link. I'm not sure why Best Buy doesn't advertise that this is an HDR set, but it is.
If the game launched with Pro support then I don't see why the demo wouldn't include it, however I haven't tried it myself. Maybe give this video a look as it compares the base PS4 mode (should be comparable to Xbox One) to the PS4 Pro mode. The game also looks to be on sale for $38 on Amazon US if that makes the decision any easier.
I bought this one and use it on my ps4 pro.
I don't know if they deliver to Ireland, buy maybe it exists on the Ireland version of Amazon?
Looks like Amazon has matched their sale.
Amazon
Still, I'm going to hold off until I've played through the games I've bought recently.
I HEAR YOU. Returned a lot of HDMI cables to Amazon. However, these worked for me with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3P8DOX/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1
Buy a $7 certified monoprice hdmi cable from Amazon.
My pro couldn’t handle the move to 4K without one. My Apple 4K couldn’t either after awhile. Only thing left that doesn’t have a Monoprice cable is my One X. That one still seems to be doing fine.
Just use a normal duster, without applying to much pressure.
Personally I use a dust cover whenever the PS4 is not running. Got it from -> Amazon
Here’s the link from amazon, but I bought it from the Apple Store
I went through this a few weeks ago. Got scammed by bunch of Chinese knockoffs on Amazon. I found two different brands (for all consoles that have come out). I use that support all the latest HDMI 2.0, 3D, HDR, YU2.2....

Make sure the box is all blue like this, that’s a pretty safe bet. I’m in the U.S. so I have no idea how to India shipping works, but hopefully you can buy from amazon.
If you can’t find a PS4 Pro don’t feel too bad, The PS4 Slim will play your games just fine and that bundle sounds like a solid deal. Plus the Slim is super quiet, since that’s what you’re really looking for.

There are used ones here listed for a decent price.
Tbh I completely forget the ps5 ! I will ses maybe I’d do better to wait until blackfriday.. Edit: holy shit look at this what do you think ?
A) that small of a space is only helping to stall airflow while accumulating heat especially towards the back, even with that fan. The absolute best thing you can do is spend between $30-$100 depending on your needs, along with a little elbow grease and modification to your cabinet and install a fan like this that WILL actually change the airflow of that enclosed space. This blower link to pull the hot air out and maybe an additional fan or dual fan cut into the side to allow cool air back in would be your best bet. But then again hey, wtf do I know?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRS2HE7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7XDlFbC0HHGPJ
I have a list of the best wireless headsets with 7.1 surround sound that work for the PS4. I just want to say something very IMPORTANT, the PS5 does not have an optical port; most headset will not work with the PS5. The only way to get sound from the PS5 is through HDMI. Now the best headsets are:
If I were you, I would wait for the PS5 to come out and find out how people are using these headsets. Astro is making something that costs $40 for the A50 to work with the PS5. I personally think this is a lot. Amazon has this that should work for audio with the headsets, but I would still wait since I don’t know the quality of the product.
It's really hard to say for sure. I have had 15 ft rated to carry 4K 60 fail while others that weren't similarly rated worked perfectly fine.

This is the one I have for 50ft. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072M73NY9/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The one you're looking at appears to have similar specs., so if I were to bet on it, I'd say at 15ft that should be fine.
If it's obnoxiously loud, then I'm a bit surprised to hear that you have a Nidec. Yes, it can't hurt to try replacing the thermal paste.
As has been widely recommended by other professionals on here, I went with this Gelid paste:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P5W4RU
And I replaced the square pads on the RAM with this stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZJS8RWQ
For the thermal pads, I used a razor to cut it into small squares like the original pad sizes. If you do that, the single strip should be enough for 4-5 Pro units.
I'll check into tutorials and follow up again.
If your console is dust-free but still loud you might want to consider changing out your thermal pads and paste. I used these Fujipoly Ultra Extreme thermal pads along with IC Diamond thermal paste in my PS4 Pro (CUH-7015B) and it made a big improvement.
PS4 Pro/PS4 Slim Vertical Stand, Transparent Stand Mount for Sony Playstation 4 Pro/Slim Console (TP4-825) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAI65IW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ClSJBbB1V7XRH
It’s very basic but I like that it looks like the official Sony stand. Be aware though, the bottom doesn’t have any sort of grip so it can slide around on a smooth surface, so I just stuck on some circular no slip pad and now it’s great. Surprisingly very stable.
all you need is this. That monster cable is over priced.

I can offer that this Crucial BX500 1TB drive worked great for me:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YD579WM
And I think some people suggest the higher-model MX500 version, which is currently cheaper:
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-NAND-SATA-Internal/dp/B078211KBB
Compatibility really should not be an issue. You want a SATA 2.5" SSD. But worst-case, simply going with one of these would be fine.
An external drive will give you more capacity. And games that you install to the external drive will load faster. But doing it as an external drive won't help the general PS4 responsiveness, the UI, etc. And I've found that's part of the SSD benefit.
I still have my external drive, but given that I also increased the internal drive size during the upgrade, it gave me enough room to remove my external drive for now.
Sorry for the late response I don't get on Reddit too often, seven months in with no issues so far. I can't speak to it's performance as I haven't used any other ssds in my PS4 but the load times were significantly improved and I've had no corruption since
I recently ordered this card with a long usb cable and a few extra hdmi cables. She uses it to stream her switch to twitch. She had it a couple weeks now. No complaints yet.

That site is not my friend. I'm not into getting tracked via analytics and I also use one of the best internet connection with DDoS support which is ProtonVPN business edition. But lately been readying and seeing articles and type ups about mullvad vpn so I'm a bit hesitant if I wanna stick with proton on my iPhone or get it. Well, for that price you could get a Samsung 870 EVO for 1TB ($91) or 2TB ($180). Both Samsung and Sabrent make the best SSDs nowadays, and they're pretty durable.

I am a noob to this thing (clearly 😅), but I am looking to replace the HDD within my PS4 slim. And I've went to browsed through Amazon for some. Could you give me your thoughts on this one?.
I did!
I bought the Samsung 870 QVO - 1TB SSD. Cleaned up the console from all dust, changed the thermal paste and installed the new SSD.
It's working without any issues and the loading time is way quicker than it was before I even started having the lagging issues. Highly recommend it!
In case you haven't cleaned your console before, just use one of the videos available on Youtube for guidance on the disassembly.
So I would need this? Would that RPM increase performance on my PS4? Should I be looking for 7200rpm? It has to be 2.5" right?
same, that thing looks 720p. TCL makes some great budget 4K TVs, got this one below as my office TV/monitor for work and some PC gaming, they have larger ones too if that works.

Also like others mention I’d definitely replace thermal pads if you end up taking apart again. Will like the replacement fan that I used, be sure to select the model you have

You will needs to get thermal pads seperate, couldn't find the exact one that I used.
Mine stopped connecting years ago, if it drops with the cable plugged in the pin can get loose.
Plug in a keyboard or mouse and navigate to Bluetooth and connect it that way, to charge the controller buy a docking station that connects to the bottom of the controller

Sounds like the fan is off balance or there is a wire/something protruding close to the fan blades.
If it is an off balance fan, you can go through motions of trying to re-balance it (not sure how you would go about it), clean it further as someone else said and hope that it balances out, or you could replace it.
For example, you can get the ElecGear Fan replacement for PS4 Pro - which apparently uses Nidec assuming you live in the States. If not, check with Amazon in your country - they should have it.
If you're happy with how things currently work, there's not much advantage. But the HD in my Pro died and I had to replace it out of necessity... I couldn't go back now. Even a cheap ~$70 1TB SSD makes a GIANT difference in some titles.
> Horizon Forbidden West, I find the loading time acceptable
I'm not an expert on the topic, but as I understand it Sony exclusives tend to use a lot of tricks trading storage for efficiency. Repeated assets within data files to reduce seek penalties and so forth, for example. But for multiplatform, open-world games I used to have a great deal of texture pop-in. The Division 2 would even have invisible walls and stuff as I ran around because streaming the world geometry was slower than player movement. Borderlands 3 and FFXV were especially bad, too. An SSD significantly changes the experience in these games, beyond just load-times.
Probably not worth it if you're moving to PS5 shortly, but it's not too expensive a mod and is very easy to do yourself.
That's the HDD, sounds like it failed. Need to unplug it for 30-45 minutes to discharge any electrical charge left in it. Make sure to depress the power switch to dispel any charge left while it's unplugged.
Also, get yourself an SSD. The Pro uses a SATA III connection and will load stuff a hell of a lot faster with one.

I u replaced the HDD in mine with that one and it has been smooth sailing ever since.
I agree that it feels like the hard drive has died out.
It doesn't take much to replace it. At this point, might as well replace it with an SSD if you can swing it. It doesn't have to be a badass Samsung EVO/QVO. Just about any will do. This is one of the cheapest you can get on Amazon and TeamGroup is rather reputable.
Replace the fan 100% If it's stupid loud it's because the electronics in them fuck up telling the fan to spin up more than it should be. I replaced mine and it fixed it, but keep in mind the cuh-7202b is quieter and in my opinion its software based. There is also a newer more efficient power supply still heats up and apparently a different apu polaris instead of jaguar? Look its a laptop without a display trying to overclock all the time gonna get hot. I still love mine though.

You didn't say country, so assuming U.S.
Not who you asked, but I just did this a few weeks ago. I used a Crucial BX500. 1TB, $90 on Amazon. Easy change, and much faster. As I understand it, the internal USB interface to the drive means you won't be able to take advantage of the full transfer rate speeds. In other words, don't spend extra for a really-fast drive, as it will make no difference.
This is the one I have, looks like the price increased a few dollars since the holidays but it's still good value for the quality. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The magnetic bits are really handy for handling the tone screws and makes swapping bits hassle free. Amazon Basics also had a 50 bit kit for $10 if you want something cheaper. Or just search "electronics repair kit" to compare different kits.
>TF-8 cause
I did a quick scroll through amazon, is it this one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/TF8-Compound-Performance-Heatsink-Interface/dp/B07K442WXV/ref=sr\_1\_7\_sspa?crid=3HJDKLGCDBJJB&keywords=TF-8+cause+thermal+paste&qid=1647255710&sprefix=tf-8+cause+thermal+paste%2Caps%2C42&sr=8-7-spons&...
Needing something decent and cheap. Not really gonna get much better then this!
Would recommend a SSD instead. I bought this one for my Pro a couple years ago. No issues whatsoever.
