I'll get the ball rolling: after using BaconReader for a while, I'm now a big fan of reddit sync. I like the overall design and I especially like the transparent bar at the bottom - that's actually the reason I got it.
Most major reddit apps have tablet layouts, but as far as I know sync is the only one to use the magazine layout (similar to g+), making it a very beautiful browsing experience.

Reddit Sync (pro version here) is the cleanest with the best UI. AFAIK it is the only app that allows syncing for offline access. It also has a great tablet UI. It follows all the Android Holo UI guidelines, so that's a plus! The dev is also very great and quickly responds to all your posts. The app is actively being developed at /r/redditsync.
I used to use Bacon Reader, but I think Reddit Sync is the new best Android Reddit application. It's gorgeous, fast, and intuitive.
BaconReader - This is my main Reddit app and has always been my favorite Android reddit app
Reddit Sync - This is another great Reddit app. It lacks a few features but it has the ICS look to it if you prefer that
I use Reddit Sync, and it supports Multi-Reddits. I do have the Pro version. I am not sure whether it's in the free version. My multis show up in the slide out menu all the way at the bottom, beneath my list of regular Sub-Reddits.
Try Reddit News or Reddit Sync
As nice as that was, my favorite feature was that it allowed you to sync browsing history, I don't know how I did it, but when I would browse on my phone with Reddit Sync, the links would be purple on my computer.
I use <strong>reddit sync</strong>, which is a visual reddit app that doesn't incorporate the basic barebones reddit interface that you're used to on the desktop.
Instead, it has an interface that's beautiful and it adheres to Google's visual standards. You can also access multiple accounts with reddit sync and it's free. I used baconreader, but found that the interface of reddit sync blew me away. I was a reddit is fun owner as well but felt it was way too barebones for what I like.
EDIT: reddit sync is known by its name because the app allows you to save subreddits for offline reading.

You've put so much effort into your app, you need to brand it nicely too! Take a look at Reddit Sync's photos, or Sunrise Calendar's photos. You get that sense of professionalism from them. They look great. Can you update your Play Store photos similarly? Don't copy it blatantly.

BaconReader ain't got nothin' on Reddit News or Reddit Sync
If you're on Android, reddit sync loads gfys like any other gif. It even loads an equivalent gfy when opening some gifs (OP's post, for instance).
This is all that happens on Reddit Sync the spoiler is hidden but there isn't a way to see what it says.

Not sure about "Reddit News App", never tried it, but Reddit Sync and Reddit is Fun both work fine in tablet mode for me. If I remember correctly Reddit Sync was on sale because it was voted best app in a Reddit poll, or something like that.
I have had the WiFi issue before when I am at a coffee shop and the easiest solution I have found it to turn on Airplane Mode, wait a second, then turn it off. Someone suggested it might be a DNS issue that could be corrected by using Set DNS so you can use the Google or OpenDNS servers but I haven't tried it.

BaconReader's gone significantly downhill over the past few releases, and certainly has a hard time standing up to the competition. The current favourites over at /r/android are Reddit News and Reddit Sync.
RIF is good, Reddionic is also good. In my opinion Reddit Sync is currently the best.
Keep an eye on the others though. There's some good competition in reddit apps right now.
I recently switched to Reddit Sync (Pro, currently at $1.60 CDN), which allows you to locally cache a subreddit for use when no coverage is available.

Going purely by time spent, the best app is probably Reddit News. It and Reddit Sync are by far the best reddit clients on Android. Both look great and have a ton of features. I used to love Alien Blue, but once I made the switch, I couldn't go back.

Not really a built in trick but, Screen Off and Lock. I don't like the default "slide up from nav for Google Now", so I replaced it with screen off and it's been my most used "trick since".

It has ads unless you buy the pro version, but it is still the best reddit app IMO.
There are also some other great ones as well on android, but Reddit Sync is the best app I have found on any platform. I use to own an iPhone, and I would use AlienBlue, but Sync beats it IMO.

Its alright. I don't like it on my phone but I like it on my tablet. Its more integrated and caches comments well, videos load up right in the app, same with gifs. Ther is a free version the dev version is just constantly updated.
I had this same situation! Hey welcome to Android buddy, we have great apps just like ios, but they may not be the first thing you see in the play store.
My reddit app of choice is Reddit Flow. It is by far the fastest and funnest experience I've seen on reddit for Android. Flow doesn't get updated very much like Alien blue would.

Which app are you using? Try reinstalling the app or try a new app. I recommend Reddit Sync or Flow for Reddit. I'm currently using Reddit Sync and love the UI.

Try reddit sync or Bacon Reader. The former has a classic (old) version too, which used to give you a preview of your post/comment like what RES can do.
I hope you're not serious. Reddit is fun has come along way, but is severely lacking. Reddit Sync and Reddit News are way better.

Try going to Settings>Apps and selecting reddit news and then hitting clear data and same with Gmail. Note: you will have to re log into reddit news. (Although I suggest Reddit Sync)
Honestly, I really want to use Reddit Sync but I always find myself just using the desktop site in the stock ICS browser.

Your app might also have filter option to filter out certain subreddit if you don't like to turn autoplay off.
I use Sync on Android (there is also pro version, and join beta if you want latest version) and I have filtered out few subreddit so they don't show up on r/all

Ah. I haven’t used that app before. I use Sync, which is undoubtedly my favourite Reddit app. The official Reddit app is garbage, however.

Oh. Yes, that is, indeed, a classic meme. I beat my meat to the clip every night.
I use Reddit Sync. I came from iOS, and it's the closest free app to Alien Blue (the gold standard) that I've found. Now that Alien Blue is the official reddit app, I have high hopes that it'll come to Android in the near future.
I sort of disagree.
I visit certain subs regularly on my computer because I don't want write multiple paragraph posts or comments on my phone. I will read stuff on my phone while I'm away from my computer, but I normally don't respond with in depth stuff from my phone. Also, I use Reddit Sync for Android and it allows you to view the sidebars like this: http://imgur.com/ZGQgzT6
I think one of the rules should be: READ THE SIDEBAR FIRST. IF YOU DON'T, AND YOU POST QUESTIONS THAT ARE ANSWERED IN THE SIDEBAR YOUR POST WILL BE REMOVED.
This is not a life hack, this is not a quick fix for your problems, THIS IS A WAY OF LIFE, and if you can't read a little bit of stuff from the sidebar GET OUT.
I'm not telling you to get out, by the way, just the people who refuse to do a little work. I mean, if you can't be bothered to read a little bit of stuff from the sidebar, how could you implement say, the Stoic practice of self-denial of pleasure?
I want to help people, but I also want people to learn to help themselves.
