Look at this dog shit and WEEP
ITS A BOOK OF QUOTES FROM OTHER WOMEN, SHE CANT EVEN WRITE A FUCKING STUPID BOOK HERSELF
Edit: https://youtu.be/44B2NiBbEfA Here's a very poorly made promo vid for the book complete with stock footage of a crowd of business people avidly listening to what she has to say and smiling at her, two things she has never experienced
Ill echo Meetup.com if you want to make potential friends. If you want to get weird with it you should join a local hash (drinking club with a running problem). Otherwise just do the PoF, Match, etc to meet ladies.
We try to get there around 6am - 6:15 so we can wander around as they are being inflated.
We usually put bikes on the back of the car, park a bit out, and ride the bikes into the venue.
Once they're up, we'll take the car and try to get close, but not too close, to the landing site to watch the final part of the show. Again, the bikes allow us to be more mobile here as well.
Saturday morning looks like it will be ideal with light winds (see the 7am wind direction/speed on the 10-day forecast): https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/nv/reno
Exactly what it is. I saw an alert on the ktvn app but the main website only shows a wind warning that is different than the app. Accuweather is showing it though.
https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/reno-nv/89501/weather-warnings/329507
perhaps the Plumas House? not sure if they are renting right now or not, but it's worth a shot. http://www.plumashouse.com/home.html
EDIT: you might also want to reach out the Reno Buddhist Center, which i believe now has an Air BnB rental space. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19457401
I'm paying much more attention to the 7+ feet of snow forecast for the pass and getting our high-country powder gear prepped & ready to go.

I'm fairly new to Reddit, and don't yet recognize it as a great place to meet strangers, mostly because it is 100% online. Sure, you can use it to set up face-to-face meetings, but it is primarily an online medium.
However, in the past I've used Meetup.com to meet people (it's how I met my partner ten years ago). You've seen me mention Meetup.com before and I'm sure I will again. I am no longer really active with any Meetups, but it facilitates the face-to-face meetings of like-minded people, by design. And it seems to be pretty active here in Reno.
Here's a listing so far though you may really want to keep an eye out for Panasonic not Tesla jobs. While the Tesla name is the one everyone uses, the plant will be mostly a Panasonic operation. I don't know anyone hired as of yet since I think they're still in construction and therefore mostly contract companies/workers are being employed.
As to when they'll be operational, it's my understanding that they are very nearly on schedule with some minor hiccups. This Bloomberg article says next year.
I took this route the other day. A little steep towards the end, but still very enjoyable. This hike offered an excellent view of the City and surrounding Valley with the Sun setting at your back. There is plenty of parking at the trail head/baseball field parking lot.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nevada/miners-trail-to-the-n
The Google Flights "explore" feature is pretty hidden but it lets you see when the best times are to fly to particular places. Just punch in Reno and Chicago and check out the graphs. https://www.google.com/flights/explore
I got this one. They make a back camera version too but figured if someone hit me from behind then they’re liable.

It's this thing
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scannerradio&hl=en
Other scanner apps might have the same feature(s) or might even be better, you can set listener alerts so if any broadcast has a growing number of listeners it will trigger a notification to you indicating something might be going on. From there I just do a quick twitter search through DuckDuckGo's !tw command, saves time of listening to the scanner for hours I'd rather not waste.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nevada/mount-rose-trail
Although longer, the main trail will be much easier overall (not as steep, better marked, and more well traveled). I would only recommend the SE ridge for very experienced hikers.
here you go! https://maps.google.com/?ll=39.31321,-119.897275&spn=0.001361,0.00276&t=h&z=19
P.S. They split the trail for bikers/hikers. The biker part is ever so slightly steeper but you will get a view of Tahoe that way. Both trails are nice and you can do a loop. There should be trail map you can grab.
Ya, you can totally use that stuff You would want to download the .stl file. Then you would upload it on the my 3D hub site.
There are a few different 3D model websites, but I mostly use Thingiverse
If you're baller go to Costco and grab this sucker - the one on Harvard has one on the floor still. I don't think you need a membership to buy booze here in NV:
There is a flier on the website and Facebook page that you can use for anything, and at this point just spread the word to your friends. If you'd like to contribute to the blog, that'd be awesome as well. Also, sign up for the newsletter (http://tinyletter.com/occupyreno) so we can send out mass updates and whatnot.
A couple days ago I went on a hike around the Caulign Ranch area. It was a easy hike although we stopped after about 40 minutes. Because there was a rattle snake on the trail ahead and it was with a dog training class.
That said rattle snakes are supposed to be bad this year. With the dry mild winter there is a lot of rodents so the snake population is expected to be high this year. If you go higher in elevation then it isn't a problem, but staying around the basin just keep an eye out.
The summit of Mt. Rose I have heard is moderate to hard and is about 5 miles one way. I haven't been on this hike but I know a lot of people do it and I plan on doing it later this month.
Finally Loch Leven Lakes is a moderate hike. There are 3 lakes along the trail and then you have to turn back around. You can choose which lake you want to hit. Last summer we went to the second lake along the trail had lunch there and jumped in the lake before walking back. It took about 3-4 hours and was a very nice hike.
https://www.waze.com/ and google maps integrate traffic conditions into their apps.
That stretch of road is not unique. Not sure who controls that project, but the ones at NDOT were prioritized by urgency then cost first. the 60 year old bridge needing rehab for $100 million would be a priority over a stretch of old and rough asphalt on Virginia costing $17 million. They don't give a shit about whether school is in session or not, the time and money became available for the project and that is when they will do it. In theory school is always in session. Winter classes, summer classes, track programs. Also you can't pave asphalt if it's at or below freezing temperatures or in wet conditions, so they have to get as much of that done while they can in the summer.
I've been using PlayStation Vue (you don't need a PlayStation for the service) with the Core package for the last 2 seasons. I get everything CSN related, more importantly the Sharks. Pros and cons? Dirt cheap for the service ($44.95/mo), full HD, but not in Dolby Digital if you're an audiophile.
His Ultimate Cooking Course is pretty great. Very different side of Gordon if you are used to just Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen.
I would also suggest Masterclass for an online option. Most of their "classes" are fluff and inspiration but all of the cooking classes are pretty amazing including Gordon and Thomas Keller of The French Laundry. There are classes with different head chefs focusing on BBQ, italian, mexican, etc https://www.masterclass.com/categories/culinary-arts
Intek River Run Tubes on Amazon are legit awesome. https://www.amazon.com/Intex-River-Lounge-Inflatable-Diameter/dp/B000PEOMC8/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1525867270&sr=1-1&keywords=river+run+tubes
Check out this sweet review. . . C-Teezy 5.0 out of 5 starsAWWWWW SNAP!!! March 23, 2011 Color: Blue|Verified Purchase I HAD A GREAT TIME IN THIS TUBE I was also admittedly drunk, but whatevs. The river was hella low, and i got stuck on some rocks several times, but this tube was like "AWW NAW HELL NAW" and i just scootched right over top of all them rocks and sticks and nonsense. The cupholders and handles were perfect for my can o' wine and my Nalgene o' Bootlegger. Not gonna lie, I threw up in the river, but I don't blame the tube. A few people had other brands of tubes, and their tubes popped, but luckily, i had brought an extra one of these already inflated. Ironically, these were the same people who were dissin on these vinyl tubes because "canvas wrapped is sooooo much better." WHERE IS YOUR CANVAS GOD NOW??
I don't know where the tubes are now, i think they might have gotten thrown into a bonfire, but if i ever feel like pukin in a river again, this will be my method of flotation. It inflated and deflated super fast, but it was bulky to carry back to the pick-up point.
Final word -- If you need a tube: BUY THIS JENK RIGHT HERE
>I feel like there was another big off leash area I am missing but those are the main ones. Just making sure to bring poop bags I also brought some grocery bags when I would go to Rancho and stuff them in the bag dispenser.
Hidden Valley Regional Park has a dog park. It's split in two, with one area for little dogs and another for smaller dogs. But personally I don't like dog parks; too many asshole dogs and asshole owners, plus dog shit everywhere.
That's nice of you to stuff the dispenser with extra bags. But we gave up on grocery bags years ago, when we started buying Mutt Mitts from Amazon. Sturdy double-ply construction makes picking up your dog's shit a real pleasure. I never leave home without four of them in my back pocket.
It's the immigration law that creates that grey market. I pointed this out in my first post. You are effectively arguing against the restrictions on immigration.
I've read Basic Economics. Have you?
One thing that helped me sleep through noises in general is a white noise maker. I bought this one off Amazon, You can try a phone app first to see if it helps, but I prefer a more dedicated device.
The idea is that by having that background noise, it should help muffle all the other noises that might wake you up at night. For me it's mostly to help not get woken up by cats running around at 2AM.
Here's what I get over in South Reno via Spectrum to the nearest test server available. I've got what I think they still call the "Ultra" plan at 400Mbps down... https://www.speedtest.net/result/10290397324
This is hands down my favorite trail in town. Not a hike exactly, just a gorgeous 5k walk with lots of ducks and hawks and rabbits and egrets and wow. Just love it.
Check out this trail on AllTrails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nevada/damonte-ranch-wetland-loop?p=-1
If you get over the pass in the early morning, you should be fine. After 9am, the temp goes below freezing, the 10" of snow forecast for the day starts piling up, and things have the potential to become interesting. It doesn't get truely cold, below 0, so the road deicing will work. Make sure your windshield washing fluid is topped up, it'll be sloppy up there.
The 10-day projects total snow accumulation of 28.5" from Mon-Fri.
https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/ca/soda-springs/39.31,-120.54
When you say older do you mean not USB-C? I think you're looking for a Micro-USB cable. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Male-Micro-Cable-Black/dp/B07232M876/
You should also probably be able to find shitty ones at any supermarket or store with electronics.
Hello. You can have them shipped here depending where it is being shipped from(or where it was made idk). Here is an example
Just bought this one on prime day. Couldn’t be happier and a total game changer. Have it my master why is big but old and had only 1 vent in it. Had for 2 weeks now and couldn’t be happier. I heard some people say that portable units don’t work and that is not my experience at all. I keep it on low too becuase it does great at cooling just in low https://www.amazon.com/Shinco-Portable-Conditioners-Dehumidifier-Function/dp/B09DVQTXYG
You need to consider that the labor force had a much different composure back then.
"Rates of labor force participation in the US in the second half of the nineteenth century among free women were exceedingly (and implausibly) low, about 11 percent"
"Family workers are classified into three categories: farm, merchant, and craft. The inclusion of this category of workers more than triples the free female labor force participation rate in the 1860 Census, from 16 percent to 56 percent, which is comparable to today's rate (57 percent in 2018)."
They didn't use those terms back then. He fought against Mussolini's fascists. the ones who believed in using violence to suppress speech. Just like what Antifa members do today, they use violence to suppress speech.
Here's a good book for you, about Fascism
A Noble Treason: the story of Sophie Scholl, That looks like a great book about the dangers of National Socialism. Maybe I will pick it up! thx.
>Then you can maybe understand what fascism really is
A political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader. severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression.
I'm against fascism, And I'm against being lumped in with a domestic terrorist group.
You might want national socialism and support a workers party, but You'd cringe at being called a nazi right?
I recently did a ton of research on them. I wanted a one that would notify me of a tow as well as the normal stuff. I ended up going with the carlock but have not installed it yet as I just got it a couple days ago. The most popular one right now is Bouncie, low rates and good tracking but if the car is not on, it is not on.
I also got a OBD II splitter so I can tuck the GPS device up under the dash and still have the OBD II available and you can't tell the car has a GPS tracker.
These are probably the most affordable and supposedly one of the most accurate. Next day prime shipping to Reno. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09QX4DWCD/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_dl_3TM9SNWJZ95BH9ABS4Z1
They are also the ones I got when I ordered the free ones from gov here https://special.usps.com/testkits
Also, don't forget that if you have insurance it should cover 8 free tests per person per month. Look to the insurance for the specifics.
I spend a lot of time camping and the two best things that work for me are Picaridin spray and a Thermacell.
I don’t like to use deet because it can fuck up a lot of gear. The picaridin seems to work just as well and it’s not oily. The thermacell makes a nice buffer around so the spray doesn’t have to work as hard. Although it doesn’t work as well when it’s windy.
Sawyer Products 20% Picaridin Insect Repellent https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07BSN7FHH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_28CCSWJ7MZQBQKSWBTFP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thermacell Portable Mosquito Repeller; Highly Effective Mosquito Repellent; Includes 12 Hours of Long Lasting Refills; No Spray, No DEET, No Open Flame; Scent-Free Bug Spray Alternative https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07KSKJMJ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_C25FPS5C0KTXY4HSAZZK
Oh that sucks. I've very lucky and about 90% of my peaches are always bug free. I always have so many I give maybe a dozen peaches to about 8 of my neighbors, then I slice up the rest and freeze em. Usually make a pie and some jelly too. I tried icecream last year but it didn't turn out.

Maybe ID what type of birds you are eating the peaches and put up a bird house for some other birds. I often have Robins in my apple tree and finches in my maple and for what ever reason other birds stay away. its possibly dumb luck, but maybe the robins chase away other birds.

I'd use something like that. but it won't help from the bugs. maybe use sticky traps to hopefully catch the bugs?
Have you tried the health food stores (sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods)? I know it doesn’t help that you don’t shop online but I saw one from nature made on Amazon maybe you can screen shot a picture of the bottle to check stores for it.

There's also Legends and Summit. Yeah, Legends is technically in Sparks, but it's pretty darn close to downtown Reno. No high end shopping nearby though, if that's a concern for you. It's not for me.
I'm amused by all of the complaints about the heat, considering that a lot of outsiders assume our climate is like Las Vegas, which is incredibly more hot. Average LOW of 82 in Jul/Aug in Vegas? No thanks. Here the lows are typically closer to 60 during the hottest time of year, so you at least can get a hike or walk in, in the morning or late evening. We get to triple digits, yes, but it's not the norm in summer. They are the norm a lot of other places. Those hot days are the perfect time to go swimming or take a boat out on the lake!
The fire smoke was legit awful this summer though.
We love it here. Enough modern amenities, shows, stores and such, but very close to Tahoe and all the ski resorts. I find it's kind of like living in a suburb but without having the big city as a crutch for show venues and such.
Reno has its issues like any other place, definitely not for everyone.
It looks like we had 3-5 days of any precipitation last Jan, and all of them were significantly less than .5 inches. I'd say it wasn't very wet.
Not trying to prove you wrong, I just couldn't remember for sure either. https://weatherspark.com/h/m/1548/2021/1/Historical-Weather-in-January-2021-in-Reno-Nevada-United-States
The only waterfalls besides the one on Hunter Creek Trail that I know of are about an hour and a half and two hours away, respectively:
Frazier Falls near Clio, CA;
Indian Falls near Quincy, CA.
I’m not sure about Frazier Falls as it’s been years since I’ve been there, but I was at Indian Falls for the hundredth time a few weeks ago and you can swim at the base of the falls there.
It is not legally allowed but many people do it. I believe TSA doesn't care too much in states where weed is legal but it pays to be very careful. Maybe see this: https://lifehacker.com/how-a-cannabis-expert-sneaks-weed-past-the-tsa-1794340594

I also have seen many of my friends carry vape pens with a separate sealed cartridge and it hasn't been caught.
Yeah, there are boomers here, but Reno is basically a college town, so there are lots of young people.
I've found MeetUp.com to be a very useful resource for meeting people who share your interests. It's where I met my partner, and we've been together for ten years. It's also useful for learning more about the are. For example, you say you like the outdoors, but perhaps you aren't sure where to go. There are MeetUps in Reno for hiking, backpacking and mountain biking that can assist you in your exploration of all Reno has to offer.
I got mine online via Walmart and Amazon

Check Weather Underground's hourly forecast for Truckee and hope for a decent window of time where no snow is predicted: https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/us/ca/truckee/39.34,-120.14
Looks like between 4 and 8 PM will be clear, although they predict the snow will slow after noon.
Good luck!
I can recommend Tallac summit in south Tahoe (so like 45 minute drive). It says it's closed now, but damn it's a beautiful hike. You're going to need to wait another month or two for snow as well.
It's fairly grueling going up, but it's a quick hike down. And it's gorgeous on the way. Different biomes on the way up. The views are amazing in every direction once you get up there. Great hike.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/mt-tallac-trail
I'm a big fan of the Jones White Creeks trails. They are not easy (a LOT of uphill climbs), but there are amazing views. I'll either hike up towards the Church pond if I have a big day in mind, or do part of the loop. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nevada/jones-and-whites-creek-trail
Are the amateurs out in the flat again launching their home-brew ones? My step dad went to one this year, not sure if they do more than one a year... I think this is it:
Hello everyone in r/Reno, My name is Justin, I was born and raised in Reno, I have been passionate about the art of blowing glass since i was a kid. Im proud to say I've been learning for the past 3 years. Its been a long journey, but through learning this incredible art, it has brought me peace. Glass is more than just a material we use everyday all over the world. Its beauty at its most raw form. Please take a minute to look over my website and tell me what you think, or if you would like to place any orders. Thank you for taking the time! https://instagram.com/inspiredrenoglass/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Inspired-Reno-Glass/802058166498182?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
The alleged version is that 'Juvenile A" felt bullied. Here's the official version of what happened. https://www.slideshare.net/ThisisReno/washoe-county-da-school-police-shooting-of-hug-high-student-ruled-as-justified
The dean said she saw Ford do it, so that's why the dean said she did it. It wasn't until folks (Olsen) voiced concerned that led to what's cycling around now. Surprisingly (or maybe not), WCSD denies it happened, but I have the evidence that shows otherwise.
I used to deliver for DHL in Truckee, these saved my ass from falling.
I would say start with groupon. Several places list deals on there including some of the big casino spas sometimes. If you are into hot springs check there as well. My wife and I have gotten some great deals at David Woolies (prefix menu dinner and a day pass to the public hot springs) and Carson Hot Springs which was 1 hour in a private room and day pass to the public pools/hot springs. Both of which were pretty cheap. The David Woolies was more because of the meal but overall we thought it was a good deal.
Weatherspark is good place to look for such info. It has Chicago with an average wind speed of 8.5 MPH at the lowest point of the year and 14.4 at the highest. Reno is 5.5 and 7.4.

South Reno. You have immediate access to Geiger grade (2100 ft) and Mt Rose east side (4200 ft). You can also head down old 395 to Washoe valley and on to Carson, although that is less climbing. Or do the Lemond Loop for a big day. It also puts you closer to the fantastic big climbs in Alpine County
Wha?
I have been a fan of Clemens/Twain my whole life, and I've never heard anything other than this.
hey, this was just posted on NextDoor -- sounds like there's a lot of bikes in this camp. there's also a photo of the place in the post:
"<strong>Missing a bike?</strong> There are a lot of bikes at this camp. I counted maybe 15. I wonder if they are stolen? This is across from the El Tavern Motel on West 4th."

I have one of these. It does a pretty good job of showing everything (plus it doesn't really on cell service/electronics), but sometimes the trails are in disrepair. What I usually do is find the trails in that book, then go onto google maps satellite view and check them out, then some more googling of the trail name to see if there are any forum posts or reviews about what to expect.
Before doing anything, make sure you actually have ear wax buildup in your ears by using a cheap otoscope like one of these.
Due to some mild inner ear itch, I was convinced that using Q-tips after showering had started creating impacted earwax in my ears. Before booking an appointment with an ENT I used one of these I discovered that I had absolutely nothing inside my ears.
First thing to do is seal up any cracks or crevices where the bugs can enter the apartment. Also use a clear caulk on the baseboards if there are any exposed spaces, no matter how tiny.
Get all beds and furniture steam cleaned (if possible) and treated. Use mattress covers. Get the carpet steam cleaned, too. This kills the live bugs.
Buy this: https://www.amazon.com/EcoRaider-Killer-Non-toxic-Extended-Protection/dp/B00FTWO27G. It's expensive, but it works. Depending on the size of the apartment, you'll need at least three, possibly more. It works by killing both bugs and eggs, and disrupting the breeding cycle.
Vacuum the entire apartment, spray everywhere, even inside drawers and closets. Move all furniture away from walls and spray, spray, spray.
Wash all clothes, sheets, blankets, anything that's been exposed, in hot water and dry on high heat for at least 30 minutes. You will need to do this weekly for a couple of months.
Repeat steps as necessary. (Except the beds; they only need to be done once. The covers will keep the bugs from reinfesting the mattresses. Make sure to change and wash bedding often, though, so they don't bite your dad or anyone else.
Use diatomaceous earth along baseboards, behind furniture and under beds. If you vacuum a lot (and you may have to), remember to put more down.
Clean out the vacuum thoroughly every time you use it. If it has a dust cup, wash it and clean the filters. Empty dust cup contents into a bag separate from the rest of the trash, tie it off and take it out immediately. When you're done with treatment, retire the vacuum.
Did this exact thing in a studio apartment. The bugs were complately gone after six weeks and never came back. Hope it works for you.
There are some wild descriptions of it from early European explorers. The book "1491" suggests that Native Americans set fires to clear underbrush in order to expand buffalo habitats.
We have one which was recommended by the NY Times Wirecutter. We have it in our family room during the day and move it to the bedroom at night.

We are in an 1,100 sq ft apartment (2 bed/2 bath) and we have two (one in the living room and one in a bedroom), I think we need one or two more. BUT I am very sensitive to air quality. Even when we're in the hazardous air, if I'm around the filters I'm usually OK (unless I've been outside).
These are the ones we bought:

After a TON of research, I ended up getting one of these:
Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier with True HEPA, PlasmaWave and Odor Reducing Washable AOC Carbon Filter
I like it enough I'm thinking of getting another one or two for my other rooms. It's pretty quiet and I think it does a good job. It isn't the cheapest nor the most expensive but it is effective.
Tops out around 20mph with a full charge. Really not bad for old tech ebike equipment. I've put about $500 into this setup over the last 2 years and it has done well. Probably going to need to replace all 56 18650 cells soon, but i made that easy to do.
This is the kit, I 10/10 recommend the vendor.
Roger, I have a evga 600 bronze but that seems overkill. I’d recommend the Ares gaming brand on Amazon. Awesome psu’s for a good price. I just bought a 750 from them and it works like a charm.

A shop to cut hair, no.
As for a shop to buy clippers, I'd just go with Amazon.
I live in that area, it can sometimes get really windy to the point it could disturb your sleep. However, ever since I got a white noise maker, I have not had problems sleeping to stuff like this. The idea is that the constant white noise kinda drowns out all the other noises.
Ive been using this guy for about 4 years now. It has helped me sleep through all but the worst wind storms without issue.
Nevada has far more dirt roads than paved. There is a road atlas you can buy that has quite a few marked. Be smart though and be prepared. Specially this time of year. People die all the time out here due to weather and what not.

Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but you can buy a number of home scales that measure body fat and other details via resistance monitor. Personally I use a renpho scale with the included app. Great product and great tracker. A lot of options on the app for what you're looking for. Looks like it's around $30 on Amazon right now; not sure where else you'd buy it: https://www.amazon.com/RENPHO-Bluetooth-Bathroom-Composition-Smartphone/dp/B01N1UX8RW
Not what you were asking, but if you really want to save money, there are books on how to massage yourself like this one which helped me a lot.
I use slime tubes plus inner tube tape (example: [Mountain Bike Rubber Bicycle Rim Tape Inner Tube Protector Spoke Wheel Strip 26" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076H5JRQB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bDqlDbMW2FG05](first link on Amazon)) and have finally stopped getting flats.
Seek medical attention is pretty much all you can do. Hopefully you haven’t hiked 10 miles back somewhere alone with no cell service and no emergency beacon. In that case your only option is to hike back out.
If you do have some way to communicate you want to stay calm and still to limit your heart rate until help arrives.
Many times snake bites are dry where the snake does not release any venom.
Someone else mentioned a Spot or InReach GPS tracker which is a great idea if you will be doing any recreating in the remote parts of our state.
However another good option and one that I use is to carry a PLB. Similar to GPS trackers but don’t require a monthly fee, have non replaceable batteries that last 5 years and are more reliable. The downside is it is emergency life of death use only. No two way communication.

Pretty much any reputable tire shop will air you up. Also, portable air pumps are pretty cheap, surprisingly useful, and a potentially life saving investment. They plug into your cigarette lighter or clip on to your car battery like jumper cables and will save you from having to change a tire when you come out in the morning and its flat. This is the one i would recommend.
Did the air purifier look like one of these? I hope the links work!

Interesting-ish story about why I would spend so much for this thing: I purchased it because our baby monitor kept giving us "unhealthy" air quality alerts some years ago when the air seemed otherwise clean to us. After getting this device I was able to measure the air when the alerts went off in the middle of the night and discover that the co2 levels were sorta high. This was happening in the middle of the night during mild weather days so the AC/heat wasn't running for long periods, thus the fan wasn't turning on to circulate air and co2 was building up in our bedroom.
Handy little thing.
That's... literally the director of the CDC.
Also, you know, the position of the person that wrote the book on responding to respiratory epidemics, Johan Giesecke - (and yes, I do mean literally wrote the book on it) is that the lockdowns offered little benefit and a lot of downsides?
I mean... two of the most authoritative people on the topic but hey I'm sure your CNN news anchor's a good authority too.
Unless you're trying to stay away from Amazon. Don't live in the area anymore, but Ace Hardware always has a good stash.
There might be some stuff on display at the local Best Buys or Office Depots, those sort of places, but I'm not entirely sure. Beyond that, I'm not sure you'll have any luck outside of buying used off of Craigslist or similar.
So I would say try finding some suggestions that might work for you, read up, and buy whatever you decide on off of Amazon. If you just plain don't like it, Amazon's usually good about letting you return it still for a refund so long as you don't abuse their good customer service.
My own flimsy recommendation would be something from Logitech. Their new stuff is expensive, definitely overpriced to some degree, but the quality is good. I like their shit. Again, whatever you decide on, get it off Amazon.
Beyond that, it sounds like you don't want to pronate your hand so you might also like a vertical mouse? The only "name brand" one I know of is Logitech's MX Vertical and I have no idea why it's so expensive. Amazon has a bunch of much cheaper, off brand ones. I found this "gaming" one by TRELC that looks pretty cool though; you might like it?
Sterno cans should be at Smart and Final and maybe Home Depot......or here....https://smile.amazon.com/Sterno-Canned-Heat-Chafing-Fuel/dp/B00504ASOE/ref=sr_1_3?ascsubtag=1ba00-01000-a0049-win10-dsk00-smile-us000-gatwy-feature-SEARC&keywords=sterno+cans&qid=1573341669&sr=8-3
I read online that there’s no licensing required as long as you’re in NV! :) and I most definitely will! Here is a link to the ones I ordered: ieasky Fishing Bait Trap,2 PCS... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P1RLRRZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Karl Hall has been corrupt for decades going way back to his time as a DA for Washoe County. This non fiction book is about an innocent man Karl played a hand in keeping in prison! Along with some of our other fine elected officials!
I gave up with TV providers jerking around sports fans and just got an NHL.tv subscription (their AppleTV app is pretty good). I bypass region-lock with a DNS service like Unlocator.
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WGL9C64/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Similar but has a motorized adjustment which is nice once it's on your roof.
Added this amplified splitter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PI09SE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 before running the cables through the house and it works great.
> Are they like you see in the movies are are we talking like a dedicated boot or soemthing?
Neither, really. The movies tend to show antique snowshoes made of wood and catgut (the tennis racket look), and I have never seen a slip on boot type. Instead, they are more like strap on sandals.
You will want to already be wearing a sturdy boot that is water resistant (or waterproof) and warm. I use my snowboarding boots. You step into the strap and sole system toe first, slip the loop around your heel, then use the pull-tight cinch system atop your foot to secure it all. To release, you pop the buckle atop your foot.
A good snowshoe will be framed in metal, and will have a metal heel rise bar for use on steeper ascents. It should also have a metal based crampon type addition underneath for traction on harder surfaces like ice, or hard packed snow. I use the Atlas Reactiv model, but they are 6 years old now, and have been replaced by this model. The 25 inch version supports me beautifully with a total loaded weight of 175 pounds.
You could start with a cheaper model, but the one I linked would be the only pair you need to buy regardless of how far you go in winter sports. I have used them to bag many local peaks for some backcountry snowboarding, so they would certainly serve you well for some lightly loaded romping.
Probably not super practical unless you change straps often, but, the tool used to replace watch straps is fairly cheap.
Also, it makes it a little easier to try out new looks. I've been tempted to get a cork strap for a while now.

Once they are applied they are a HUGE pain to remove. (Usually requires a razor blade and some windex.) Be sure to put it on the driver's side door window because putting it on the windshield is dangerous. Easier than a tow truck and much more effective than a note.
There are tons of native plants with interesting uses that grow well around reno. A very incomplete list -> blue flax, jimson weed, desert tobacco, poppies, prickly pear cactus, wood's rose, snowberry, desert milkweed, broomrape, stinging nettle, penstemons, ephedras, scarlet gilia, cimson columbine, Nevada onion.
I'd also recommend the books: Medicinal Plants of the Desert and Canyon West and Native Plants Of Southern Nevada (though only about half of the plants in the 2nd book can grow in Reno which is considerably colder than vegas.)
As far as interesting exotics - anything that grows well in other cold deserts grows well here. Think like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Western Russia, Western China, etc.
