Here’s the link! It was super cheap and seems very durable
They are. $4.95 for 4 (Amazon link). I bought 24 of them. Great for reloads, and they came in handy when I bought 3 cases of AA shells for the $20/case rebate, but found out they needed me to cut the individual UPC codes off of individual boxes. The rebate paid 2x the cost of the plastic boxes.
If you are spending $10 (possibly plus shipping) anyway, might I recommend a pair that runs $80 that's on sale for $18? The Smith Optics Aegis Arc is on crazy sale right now on Amazon through Botach. I have gotten two pairs and I'm about to order a third. The Smith Optics are not only Z87.1 certified but they are US MIL-PRF-31013 certified for use by frontline troops. $18 gets you a clear lens, a sunglasses lens and a stupid nice case.
Lucky Gunner did a pretty thorough safety glasses test program and the Aegis Arc was able to withstand a 22short. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/eye-protection-shooting-glasses-review/
My 2 cents. Good luck.

You can just buy desiccant on Amazon for less than 8 cents a pack. Might be a better option than salvaging jerky packaging like a savage.
1) https://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-doom-cod-style-advanced-weapons-mod
A bit overkill with tuning, but has quite juicy action with shotguns. Has 870's, Saigas, Win1300 and so on (sadly no Mossy). Buckshot and FRAG-12 as an optinal choice for ammo. I strongly recommend that combo with Hell on Earth Starter Pack megawad.
2) Vanilla Doom 2 with it's SxS
3) Quake 2 with it's Super Shottie, one-shots unarmored players point-blank, but the spread is terrible as range increases
4) Dirty bomb (has 870, Mossy and lever-action 12ga). Two-shots any player at close-to-mid ranges. Usually players get quiet frustrated by a capable shotgun opponent
5) RS2: Vietnam has great shotguns in all terms
6) Insurgency 1 and Sandstorm also both have great shotties
7) Planetside 2
8) Prolly Painkiller, but it's too arcade

That list is not all what I could've remembered, but for me the most pleasure still goes with the first one on the list.
Customized a Pelican Vault V700 case to carry my two 686s and chokes, plus I added a speaker grill to hold desiccant. Very happy with how it turned out.
Used an electric wire foam cutter to trim the foam. Havalon knives work well too, but don't make a smooth cut like the electric wire cutter. A Havalon is good for clean-up and small cuts - I'd have one handy too. Link to foam cutter I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QXT717K/
Also, the foam is cut only 2/3 of the way down under the barrels and the trigger guards to provide support. A little 3D work goes a long way.
3M adhesive to glue the layers together, and two cans of black Plasti-dip to firm up the foam. In some of the thinner parts at the edges and the tips of the receivers, I used kebab sticks vertically into the foam layers below to provide stability and not tear the glue with use. Plasti-dip afterward hides the holes nicely.
This is the newer version of what I use

This likely would also work fine. Looks like mine - except clean!
I am sure there are many other variants as well.
And yes - they are gauge specific. A 20 gauge will be too loose in a 12 gauge gun.
I used this extensively in my old competition gun when changing from 12 gauge to sub gauge tubes. Now I have a carrier barrel and don't have to worry.

You'll want to punch out the primer and fill it in with hot glue or silicone and add weight. Also you need to make sure they are easily identifiable from what you normally shoot. Spray paint, pick up a different color hull at the range, etc. It's only dangerous to use old hulls because it's easy to mix up with live ammo.
Honestly though is worth the $10 for a zooms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029M2YWE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_j.oiFbZ1F0F72

Nice. Of course a pump is going to be a bit more practical but if you're practiced with the lever it should be just fine. The Turkish shotguns are just fine for HD and range use. They're not something you're going to put 200 shells through every other weekend for 3-gun or any other competitive shooting but they're totally fine for normal use IMO. Just make sure whatever ammo you're using runs through it fine and the gun functions properly.
Slugs really are so much fun and I had the idea that the level BAT would be a lot of fun as a slug gun. It's something different and interesting. You're right about some padding on the lever action loop. My friend put this on his henry .44 lever and it really helped a ton. He said he got it on amazon for $15 so I'm thinking that's what it was. It also looks better than paracord and actually looked really neat on his rifle. In black it would look good on yours. I think those BAT levers look really neat. They have them on classic arms for $399 in silver with wood but the reviews said everyone was sent the black version like yours. Either way it's still a decent price for them and they're in stock.
I installed these one on my Maverick 88 20g Security. I can see it in dark at and with light in the gun range. 10 - 15 yards a home defense. It doesn't matter because i will be shooting it from the hip. Practiced it that way in the range and I can say that potential intruder will not make it. I was only allowed to use slugs in the range. I have #3 and #4 as home defense shells.

I dig it. How does the shell holder attach? I'd take the cheek riser off if I were using a bead because I can't imagine being able to get my face low enough to use it with the cheek riser on. It has a tube that you look through to see the green dot, if you raise or move your eye in 1 inch in any direction it fades to black. So it keeps your right eye in a correct shooting position (some people raise their heads without knowing) and my left eye can't see the green dot so it trains your right eye to be the dominant one.
The one I got does not need to mess with the pins.

While I am not a fan of the Magpul shotgun parts, it really did look like shit before so I applaud you for doing SOMETHING with it. The fit on that recoil pad was pretty awful and when I zoom in, I see what you mean about the rear sight. Remington rifle sights suck ass so I'd probably grind that off in favor of basically anything else. Have you shot it yet without the rear sight? You may actually be able to use that front sight as is because Remington beads tend to sit kind of high anyway and if you want a dot up there, try something like this https://www.amazon.com/Trijicon-Front-Night-Sight-Remington/dp/B0006969XM/ref=pb\_allspark\_dp\_session\_sims\_pao\_desktop\_2/146-4774585-6634346?pd\_rd\_w=OT8Ma&pf\_rd\_p=3ac2ce50-9d75-4bd3-868d-72b252a0623c&pf\_rd\_r=D6T700RD51X0F7HZD55...

Do not use channel locks on it. Firearms get messed up more often than not, when people attempt to 'repair' or disassemble/reassemble with the improper tools. For example, 'flathead' screws on firearms, people often believe they can try to remove or tighten with their Harbor Freight 'flathead' screwdriver. That's how you get buggered up slots. You need a hollow ground screwdriver. As for your shotgun's forend nut? Get this tool: https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Deluxe-Universal-Shotgun-Forend/dp/B002TUSDZI

I don't think there are many accessories for Winchester shotguns. And a nice sling that holds shells.
If the gun is for home defense, maybe find a gun smith who will shorten the barrel to around 19 inches.
if the laser isnt a necessity then i second stream light as an option.
this is the TLR-1HL i have on my 870:
SGA stock has just an empty space in the plastic. So you need to install a 'female' connector for your 'male' QD mount. Otherwise those retention balls won't have anything to grab to.
The person in the video must have installed those beforehand.
I have this on my 500, paired with a TLR-1. Clamps around the magazine tube.

Depending on your bedroom, a safe in the closet stays out of the way and can be easy to get to. You can get many gun safes that mount between studs (just be aware of wiring beforehand). Put one of those in a closet and it doesn't look odd at all or take up any real room. I agree with physical button locks. Since you seem to be protecting kids from the gun, you really only need a cheap safe.
You should look at youth stocks, they are shorter. I'd also recommend one of these Limbsaver Airtech
Nope, just sticking with the 14" barrel. My only other concern is mounting a light.
The heavier walled barrel shouldn't be an obstacle to attaching this, right?
Thanks for the input!
CoD took the sights linked and flipped the mounting base on them.I see people saying Troy, I’ve got a set of Troys and they look kind of similar but that’s not them. The base and locking mechanism are what give it away.

Comes out looking real slick.
I'll add to this excellent advice with my experience: The main cause of forend cracking in the first place is from the magazine tube cap being too loose. Get a strap wrench and really crank it down tight whenever you reassemble the firearm.
Repair the forend you have, and then ensure you keep the endcap nice and tight.

The Stock Fitter’s Bible will help you through any stock fitting problem from diagnosis of root cause, with an explanation as to why it occurs, to how to fix it whether it be stance, gun mount, or modifications to the gun. https://www.amazon.com/dp/1451570384/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_XYTBBG2JYA7EN6FAJ6P4
It’s difficult to diagnose gun fit issues over the internet. If what is occurring is what is known as cheek slap, a common fix is to change the angle of the recoil pad relative to the bore of the barrel. You can experiment with this by removing the recoil pad, installing an angled shim ( I’d try at the top, comb side, first) then reinstalling the recoil pad. This presumes your shotgun doesn’t have an AR-style recoil pad. Those are heavily angled with the expectation you will be shooting while wearing body armor.
These Rustrictor boxes clearly have a much cooler name. And the fit 4 boxes of 12ga shells so the weight is just right AND they have these regular Plano Shotshell boxes that are a different color so you can put 20ga in there.
i have a few of these MTM ammo crates. designed to hold one or two flats of 2-3/4 shells in their boxes.
I bought one and promptly took it off, it was to big and bulky. I put these on all my shotguns now. And its nice to have options for sizes and colors.
I shoot trap every couple weeks, and I still always get nervous. Couple things I would recommend is getting a shell box carrier for your belt, and IF you can spring for them howard leight impact sports for under $35 are really nice to have, you can wear them and talk to people around the range area and on the line without them screaming through your earmuffs or going without ear-pro.
Go out, talk to whoever is in charge let them know its your first time and anyone worth their salt will make your life easy from there, they should be able to tell you everything from where to sign in, where to set your gun, where to stand and when, everything, just listen and follow instructions, its usually pretty easy and after the first or second round you should be gtg.
Couple other points. 1: Have fun, relax, your shooting guns at dirt birds its a blast!. 2: Focus on your technique, you can ask other shooters or range officers for tips on technique follow through etc. we have 1-2 guys at our range here that will follow you through your trap session and give you tips and pointers when needed, or anything you need help with, just take all advise with a grain of salt, there are basics that work for almost everyone, but everybody has their own quirks. Once you are more comfortable with the basics, then you start trying to bring up your score marks. GL HF!!
This is the 2nd time I've seen somebody with a light mounted on top of the receiver in this sub 😂 You are taking it a lot better than the last guy though, so I won't give you crap
Not ideal, a new fore end with rails or mlok would probably be better, but even something like this would work better than the current set up
It's important that you be able to shoulder the weapon and not have anything blocking your field of view
https://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Barrel-Clamp-Black-Accessories/dp/B01MQIJCHL
If it were me...I'd try buying a barrel clamp intended for a magazine tube extension and then brazing it on where the old ring was, using the cap of the magazine tube as a guide for placement. I'd fire a couple test loads from a vise to make sure it didn't come apart and then call it good if it ran.
Best option is the one you already mentioned, wait until the gun you want is in stock. Or the bead sight barrel from Mossberg is in stock. Short of that I would check availability of Carelson's or Hastings barrels for the Mossberg. Or check small gun shops and pawn shops. They somehow always have a supply of homeless misc. shotgun barrels in a bucket. Ask the person at the counter if they have any.
Other option is remove rear aperture, and just use the front sight post as your bead. If that's too tall and you want you head lower on the stock then try a snap on fiber optic like this one in front of the front post. The front post will still block your view somewhat, but it gets you out shooting while waiting for a backordered replacement barrel.
Or if you're willing to get your hands dirty, take off the rear aperture, put the barrel in a vise, and VERY slowly by hand cut the front post off with a hack saw as close to the barrel as possible. Then mount a bead. Or call Mossberg to find out if the front post is spot welded or brazed on from the factory. If it's brazed on, then you can use a propane torch and pliers to heat it up and pull it off. Both methods are going to bubba up the barrel. But if it only needs to work for a few months until you can get the barrel you want, so be it.
I bought A-zoom 12 ga snap caps. Some of the reviews said they didn't feed or got stuck but mine have worked perfectly. Not one single problem. As some mention, the back does get chewed up after many uses and a little bit of paint chips off over long periods. I bought my first set at the range and they showed me one that they had used for many years. Looked fine, just old. Just buy some more if it worries you. I bought extras on amazon and plan to just throw them away if one looks bad. I suppose it's more expensive than making your own, but they probably last longer. Well worth it for the practice you can get handling the shells (though they are a bit lighter).

Pretty expensive and works ok.
Hogue makes a great short stock if you want home defense capability that's not a pistol grip.
Amazon is cheaper. I bought the "used" which was really just open box for like $50. Make sure it's 12" LOP if you're interested in this.

Splatterburst targets are good for slugs and other shooting.
Another thing would be a bore snake for cleaning - get the 12 gauge size.
If I may…my only recommendation would be replacing the front sight blade…

If you want something super budget check this out. My friend got one and I'm honestly impressed. He didn't use the wired switch just the normal tailcap. It's held up so far no problem and he's had it out launching slugs and 00 buck probably a dozen times since he mounted it. Really bright and affordable.
I like stuff like this just to see what kind of better setup you might want to invest in down the road. No it isn't something I would go into battle with but it's a good deal for the money. There's tons of options out there in your price range. Of course that's just something to mess around with before you spend more money.
I have the streamlight polytac with a magpul M-Lock cantilever mount but the light is only like 120 lumens. Still plenty bright for HD use, super simple and rock solid. They're like $50-$60 I think but I got mine on sale for $30 at a gun show since the package was damaged.
If you wanted something super compact and simple that will just work these are super neat. Not bad for the price! Really small and they just work. My uncle has this on his HD shotgun because he hates any bulky attachments and swears by this little light.

Sorta but in my mind I more just pictured an actual flashlight like this but with a bayonet lug attachment built directly into the flashlight with a ring toward the head of the flashlight to go over the end cap of the shotgun mag tube, just like a a bayonet fits except a flashlight.

Try using a Tornado Brush. It's steel, but with closed ends. Its tough enough to get all that wad fouling out, but won't scratch your barrel like a regular steel bore brush. I also use Foaming Cleaner. Quick and easy.
Source, I used to be the service gunsmith at a rental range, and I'm lazy.
Well he was asking why people originally said it wouldn't, the original post was just asking if gorilla glue would work and when someone says just "gorilla glue" they are almost definitely talking about this.
Even if using the gorilla wood glue though, it's just objectively worse than titebond 3.
Lol, that looks like my shoulder after about 75 Black Aces high power/magnum 00 buckshot, roughly 1450fps. Personally, 7.5 birdshot for range time (cheaper) and some "low/reduced recoil" buckshot mixed in is the way to go if you don't want that again. NSI's stuff is good at 1200fps, so is Fiocci Home Defense 00 Buck. Personally, I prefer Winchester Defender Buck (no slug) at 1150fps. For the wife however, Aguila Minishells (buck and birdshot) for her 590 and Shockwave.
If not, get a wearable shooting pad: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C5XOJQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_10?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
They look kind of dumb, but definitely worth it for a long range sesh. Only downside is you'll have to compensate for the added length of pull.
Maybe check out Stevens shotguns as well. They are chinese but I have one and it's pretty nice. It's a security model so ghost ring sights and just cylinder bore but it's a pretty bad ass shotgun for what it is and it's got a smooth action. I just put a cheap picatinny rail mount on the magazine tube like this and add some sort of light.
Sure thing. It’s this guy right here.
I mean maybe there's better options, I'm not the most brilliant when it comes to this either.
Something like this is $6 and holds 25 shells. I just keep it with my shotgun so it's ready to go.
Maybe others have a better idea though.

Looks like a Remington clone with a Stevens forend. It will probably work ok but don't necessarily expect longevity out of it. That said it could be decent and last a long time, could be rubbish and give out after a few hundred shells. Only time will tell. That said I have a Stevens 320 that's not exactly the same but it's a cheap Chinese shotgun and it runs like a beast. It's about 3 years old now and I've put about 150 shells through it myself and it came to me well used. Nothing on it feels particularly flimsy, actually the opposite, very solid. Hope it works out for you. Best upgrade you can do is put a limbsaver recoil pad on the stock, I like the Airtech limbsaver. Normally I would say an ammo card but the forend is too long on these to use an ammo card on the receiver so what I did is use a buttock ammo holder. this one looks decent, I got a cheaper Allen one and wish I got something slightly better but it works. You can also get a picatinny mount like this for mounting a flashlight. It should fit on almost and shotgun magazine tube. Also all of these accessories are universal so if you get a new shotgun you could switch them over.
The foam has precuts. Very easy to remove, and comes with a razor blade tool for ease of personalization. There is an additional foam insert to provide protection between the rifle and Shotgun. The Shotgun side folds on top of the rifle, it's held in place by some good velcro strap fasteners.
So this is how it’s supposed to be setup.
3 inch loads are typically considered heavy, and should be setup based on the heavy load setup.
Most people just put it on heavy for everything unless it won’t cycle light loads.
They make these mounts that you can put on the barrel. There are similar mounts as well if you search...
I found it on Amazon. I like it so much better then the elastic ones that slip up to the grip
I found it on Amazon I chose this specific on because it covered to entire butt and has LOP spacers

I have this in brown it looks really nice but it goes on the stock. But that forces you to remove my right hand (trigger finger) away to reload. A side saddle on the left side is probably better for reloading.
Shotgun card like this one. There are better quality than this one, but I think the Spanker is adequate for my needs.
I got myself two of these bad boys.
They're sold as bike hooks and can be found in most shops. They have rubber covers on the hooks, which is nice because a home defense shotgun the cops might take for evidence should be pretty, I think. No scratches, so there's a big blank canvas when the cop tosses it in an evidence locker to rust for months.
Anyway, I have a platform bed and there's room enough to hang two of those underneath the edge, hooks facing outward. When the shotgun is lovingly placed into the hooks, it is able to cant outward about 45 degrees or so. This allows a quick impact-free removal of the shotgun from underneath the bed when you're in it, and the gun is well positioned for quick shoulder mounting when it's time to defend your castle.
As a bonus, the bed sheets hide it from sight during the day, unless you're an uncultured slob who impulse-bought a Mossberg 500 Persuader with the shitty pistol grip and who never makes the fucking bed...not that I'd know anyone like that, of course.
Also, I make sure the shotgun is loaded with the safety on. This is because my apartment is so small I can't put the bayonet on my Mosin without stepping outside first. I just wouldn't have time to rack the shotgun.
I have also practiced (and bandaged myself up from) rolling off the bed to get the shotgun and reach cover simultaneously. I'd like it if I could stop "practicing" this during a sound sleep, though.

Been using these, but after only two days, these things are chewed up and are already getting tough to load on some of them.
Do you have any brand suggestions?

As for spring tuning, yeah. I think I might spend the extra 15 bucks and try a new spring to cut on my own later. Like I presume the gunsmith already cut the spring to the right length when he installed the extension. But I don't think he would have test-fired anything. He gave everything a deep clean I know.
Another light mount I've been looking at is made by elzetta light mount
Its made well and can also be a barrel clamp with magazine tube so a two-fer in my books
these mounts are cheap and work well and offer multiple positions for a light to be mounted. They also make a single rail version which I have and I like it but wish I went with this style for more options.
XS SIGHTS Big Dot Shotgun Sights, Tritium and Ember Glow Front Sights, Fits Remington 870 and Mossberg 500/590 & Plain Barrels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PNDX5LU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_D533TFNFRJ9F2M8S9M5W
This is the one I got for my Mossberg 500, but it’s a 4.8mm. I think Brownells has a few decent options too, but for me the trick was having the tritium put on a white backing that was mounted on black. That way in low light, I can see the green glow while in brighter lighting scenarios you can see the white dot siting in a black mount. The tritium mixed with the black and white contrast was really the key for me to move through a variety of lighting scenarios and not have to change anything other than maybe turning my flashlight on and off. Before I committed to mounting this sight I actually did a dry fit by threading the anchoring bead in and zip tying the sight itself over the bead. Took it to the range and 3-D shooting plus dry fire house clearing. Ended up loving it and permanently mounted it to my 500. Hope this helps!
I like Federal flight control and Hornady versatite 8 pellet buckshot for double aught buck, I haven't patterned very much other than double aught. At least not extensively. But flight control or versatite 8 pellet is basically a rifle to 15 yd. Which is great because you really don't want to drop a pellet and hurt someone other than your target. Honestly though, buy a box of whatever, and cut one open. What you're looking for in good buckshot is a plastic fill buffer, and a one-piece wad with a tall enough shot cup to completely contain all the shot. Though I've had good luck with unbuffered buckshot with no wad. Shotguns and shotgun ammunition selection is like black magic. Your shotgun might love the shittiest $12 a box of Estate double aught buck while shooting like shit with a more premium load like a Winchester super x. For plated buckshot, copper is good Nickel is better. Buffered is usually better than unbuffered, and if it seems a little bit unorthodox, it's probably a gimmick. Like Federal force X2. It's buckshot with a cut down the middle, downside, it reduces your double aught buck shots penetration to that of birdshot. That's another thing, don't load a defensive shotgun with birdshot please. It gets like 6 to 9 in of penetration. That's not enough to reliably kill. You also don't want to use anything super Magnum for home defense. I personally like my buckshot to be between 1200 and 1400 ft per second, much over 1450 1500 ish and you start getting over penetration.

I got an Uncle Mike's kit for the stuff that fits the cap. Mine was already tapped for the sling stud, and the ATI stock has a stud on it. So I just used the stud from the kit, which came with the swivels. Then get a sling of your choice, good to go!

This might sound ridiculous and just plain dumb, but a master paintball set might have the couple you need when you locate them. Maybe get a set like this one.
