The closest thing I can think of is Bertrand Russell's A History of Western Philosophy. I haven't finished it but it runs through chronologically from the start. There may be another that is more recent or more about what it affected.
Oh, deep. Next question: Do we want that? Book recommendation in that context: Pirsig - Lila. I would however recommend reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance first, but everybody should read that anyways. (Gamma function!)
Ohhh! Lol I just got that - yeah the author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance also went over that problem. He talked about how if you were left out on a desert island, you'd turn to dust - but there would be absolutely no way to turn you back.
But a lot of proponents of this field do think it's a revolution - so yeah this guy speaks with a lot of confidence on the matter. I just like listening to British people talk. bwahahaha
It sounds like you got a glimpse of how perspectives worked while tripping, how the mind generates stories that creates beliefs. You saw your perspectives can be modified, they're apart of your mind, and from that went the direction of them being fake instead of going in the direction of exploring how to control that part of the mind. If you want to control that part of the mind the book Prometheus Rising is a quick and fun read that aims to teach you how to control that part of your mind. No longer do you have to be stuck feeling like things are fake.
I can't take credit for it though, it just stuck with me.
A quote from two of my favourite authors collaborating on their book: A Modern Shaman's Guide to a Pregnant Universe
The meaning you bring about for yourself as your purpose is still inherently pointless. You can still experience happiness, check out optimistic nihilism
I download all my books from libgen and put them on an ebook reader, so trying to make a similar vid wouldn't really have the same effect lol. Occasionally I'll buy the kindle version if I really wanna support the specific author.
Aside from that I think Vince really summed up everything on my mind, great comment by him. Dude truly embodies the spirit of this place, salute to /u/Anatta-Phi.
But yeah, what exactly are you looking for?
Part of me thinks recommending ANOTHER book might be the last thing you want lol, but I really enjoyed Antero Alli's 'Angel Tech', or anything that involves the 8 circuit model really, but that's just my Bias.
It's a great diagnostic tool to look at certain aspects of myself, and the follow up book gives plenty of real exercises to try out and learn from.
Sometimes I feel so stuck I just do something chaotic and see what happens, instead of trying to figure out, plan and control everything.
Went out to grab some more Paint Markers today, I made quacking noises at people as they passed by to push back against my 'internal policeman' that tries to punish me with guilt and shame for not 'acting normal'. Hopefully I added some novelty and shook them out of autopilot even for a moment. I consider a playful, lighthearted approach towards life a core part of my personal 'Shrug Philosophy'.
Life is strange, we're making it stranger.
Anyway, ramble over.
Not yet, I'm taking a break from weed lately and just going thru the motions of that.
Funny I say that like some sort of excuse, if anything it's a perfect time for me to pick up my e-book reader and go through it again, so I appreciate you keeping me accountable, even if it's not intentional.
I catch myself wanting to say my usual script, but part of me is acknowledging that and challenging myself to do something different instead.
I was having some weird thoughts about sharing Hyatt's stuff to people, cause it can be pretty extreme - and it's definitely not for everyone.
I get some stupid fear of my actions affecting others and possibly doing something I regret, but I acknowledge this as silly and move on regardless.
Those who get something out of Hyatt's writing, will. Those who don't will simply move on. It's a stupid thing to feel accountable and guilty for, and it demonstrates a current truth in me that I can work against to help be more functional and less repressed and fearful.
Feel like I'm starting to ramble.
One of Christopher S. Hyatt's students - Calvin Iwema wrote a book published on Falcon Press released in November 2021, which is full of really great advice and exercises, with a similar style to Hyatt.
I've been reading it lately and have found it cool, maybe you will too. I'll cut it off here because I feel like I'm talking too much and not doing enough.
When we die, our soul goes to where our awareness is. So, how could we ascend to higher densities towards infinity if our minds are still trapped in a 3D box?
In my case, I decided to make the best of my new condition and expand on knowledge. Tarot, astrology, cosmology, symbolism, ancient religion, occult societies... I asked my soul to open my eyes to what I needed to see and guide the way, and since then I'm being guided. "Please show me what this or that means", be open to the unexpected and focus on what resonates.
I see each day as a new life and don't waste effort with fear. Some days I'm a psychotic bipolar loser, some days I'm an angel on a mission. I savoir the experience and try to apply the rules of improv to my life whenever possible. "Yes, and...".

I... I would have to figure that out... good question.
investigates the interweb
Aha. It's a browser extension called RES. The background is set to 'night mode' which makes it easier to read.
The core of it is the use of the media to inundate the public with certain types of concepts and imagery repeatedly in order to influence their default ways of thinking and default emotional states. Training the herd on how to behave, basically. Instead of the media being a reflection of our highest aspirations or to share high-quality information, it's essentially a mental manipulation device that has been tailored to bring out the behaviors that those in charge want to see from the masses. Be that demoralization or helplessness or whatever might work to deactivate people in a way that prevents them from challenging the existing order.
Those in charge know they have a tenuous grasp, so they're pushing emotional manipulation more than ever. If people are so preoccupied with emotionally-laden nonsense, they'll never have the focus to actually organize and get proper economic representation. Having a highly emotional and highly sexualized society makes them easy to manipulate, because it's easy to generate highly emotional or sexual content, and the media is everywhere.
The fundamental flaw is that people think the media is just showing us "what we want to see", and that they "only show things if lots of people watch it" which it true to some degree. But if you starve a pig, it'll eat anything. If people are starved of real quality information by way of a deluge of nonsense through the media, then they start trusting the low-quality information just out of helplessness, and the desire to conform with public opinion, which in reality is mostly just media-manufactured cultural norms that exist to serve the monopolized economy.
I just want a media that is for the people, and by the people. Which is partly why I spend so much time working on https://saidit.net
I'm sorry to hear you've been going through hell. Your story sounds more like psychosis than schizophrenia, which is thankfully curable. Psychosis typically comes from believing something (usually religious material) and misinterpreting it to the point it warps ones world view in such a way it creates the symptoms you're experiencing.
A good therapist should be able to help. An alternative solution is reading all of Prometheus Rising in order from beginning to end, doing some of the exercises, and double checking / verifying what you're reading is understood correctly. (Prometheus Rising is about how to reprogram your mind, and has a specific part about how drugs like LSD work on religious experiences including psychosis, giving you control over your mind.)
One way you can tell if you're understanding something correctly (like a teaching or a religion or whatever you want) is to validate what you're reading with first hand experience. Everything said in Prometheus Rising and in other teachings like Buddhism (or whatever you were following) should line up with first hand experience. If it doesn't there is a high chance it is a translation error, a metaphor, or it could be factually wrong.
It's important small details are understood correctly, especially around eastern religions, otherwise that is how one typically gets psychosis. This is why I'm putting emphasis into verifying and validating whatever is read and learned.
The book gives you the ability to program your mind into any state you want. This way you can leave psychosis. Happy holidays. <3

I feel like we need to actively question these high-level associations and coincidences, just like you mentioned studies showing hollywood putting out movies that are similar (I've noticed the same thing with syndicated comics)... my guts tell me that anything coming out of the firehose of top-down symbol control will be part of a network of Powers That Be on Earth (think CIA, military-industrial complex...etc) and of course if there's advice to the movie studios coming from these people, we'll be lead along THEIR manipulated synchronicity stream. I wonder if the study said anything about that conspiracy theory. It's difficult to divide the "light" from the "dark" especially from The High perspective, it becomes almost silly to do so up there. However, as human beings in and of this cosmic battle we're participating in and turning our own High Being into these forces generating experiences for us. What are we doing, what are we turning towards? These questions of contemplation lead me to prayer and quietude in order to receive information from the Most High.
And to return to my original post about posting on the internet leading to a boisterous hell... it is what it is, the DARPA internet will dissolve again one day, earth itself will burn and the oceans will vaporize. During the coldest part of the Cold War we wondered if that vision of apocalypse would arise from the finger of Man, would God allow that? And is there a God? We're still here, the story must go on, but we choose where we stick our noses in this story, and what buttons we push ... *post reply* <3
I swear everyone in this sub is already part of a synchronized mind, i just got this book recommended yesterday. https://www.amazon.com/Aztec-Philosophy-Understanding-World-Motion/dp/160732461X.
Do you lurk /lit/ by any chance?
Clearly declare values and doggedly seek to attain them.
For some easy kills to start, i recommend valuing human well-being, potential action, and action in its own right. Sub-values may be derived from there with either mysticism or reason - since both go through the same sort of memetic evolution broadly speaking (though i recommend reason as the more fulfilling option, i'll admit it's a personal preference).
See also, The Art of War, The Book of Five Rings, and parents you like and admire.
Before finishing reading your comment I was going to say, Anger is my favorite work by him, then i got to the end and you said the same thing!
Yea that book is amazing, such different insights than what I had heard on anger before.
I also really enjoy Peace is Every Step. It goes over so much and I consistently implement the stuff he talks about in there
You DoodEl'ed that one, for sure...is that a cockmic? I mean I know you can teach cats to paint I just didn't realize you could teach a cock to paint. Learn something new every day.
> I would suspect someone with synesthesia to experience that as a feature of the state.
That seems to be a key point, particularly with the parallel processing, that features need to be mined by the player to put them into the akashic records of Zustand. Things I'm mining at the moment are energy 'lines' - which I might change the name of to something uniquely specific, like resonance paths, or thosene streams. And energy balls - I haven't seen one yet, only heard of them, but supposedly they can store thosenes and be sent around the world. Thosene - incase you haven't come across it is 'thoughts + sentiments + energy' - it seems to be the trinity combo for memories and experiences. Heard about it through 'projectiology', specifically This Book.
I make mobile games. Here's one I'm currently working on. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.FunParticle.IdleTD&hl=en
The plan is to someday be able to send my message across to million of players, in hopes of waking some of them up.
