This was a FANTASTIC article posted on the Star Wars website. I highly recommend you all follow the writer, Alex Kane, on Twitter—he's very smart and good at what he does. He wrote a book about Knights of the Old Republic, which I know a lot of people (myself include) regard as one of the best video games—let alone Star Wars games—ever.
She was fantastic, she had a palpable presence. She served as the life-lesson/stepping stone in Poe's arc just like Snoke to Kylo and Luke to Rey.
No. Star Wars was meant to be a single movie that Lucas made when he couldn’t get the Flash Gordon rights. After it blew up, they made plans for a trilogy, and put “Episode V” in front of ESB. Around that time, Lucas started talking about how he has always planned it as a grand trilogy of trilogies, but that’s not true, they made it up as they went along for the first trilogy.
There are quite a few sources for this but here’s a good starter:
Algorithms reward negativity. Algorithms are designed to make you anxious and upset and keep you tethered to the Internet, so as to sell you more ads.
Read “10 Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now.”
I got rid of everything algorithm-based and I use duckduckgo as my search engine. I use reddit sparingly and check a few twitter star wars fans that I enjoy, but I no longer have a twitter, so the algorithm can’t affect me. I deleted my accounts for youtube and facebook. I have youtube set up to not track my search history for the occasions I do look something up.
I’ve gotten rid of (as much as I can) algorithm based media sites for a year and it’s made everything better.

If you are interested /u/willworkforgames did a great interview with the author of the book. Great listen if you are a fan of the book!
I love the book so much and it is either my favorite or second-favorite book of the new books. Great dive, in my opinion, into the actual substance of Star Wars.
> I really wish we had SW podcasters (other than maybe Jenny Nicholson) who actually seemed to have a solid idea of story structure.
I can't recommend What the Force enough!
Admittedly my download of that Amazon pic looks cruddy when re-uploaded to reddit. It looks better on Amazon's site, which naturally insists on having all images be those .webp things. I don't see a link in this post, so if you want to see the source, it's here.
By definition it's not in cold blood.
To kill in cold blood is to kill without emotion or feeling.
We know that it traumatized Kylo Ren based on the movies and we visibly know that it had a huge emotional impact on him. It's very fair speculation to think that Kylo regretted it.
They let that linger there didnt they. I watched it again and still cant believe they let it simmer like that for so long. They really wanted you to believe that theyd do this.
However, I should clarify i meant the events surrounding ts2 being made: https://thenextweb.com/media/2012/05/21/how-pixars-toy-story-2-was-deleted-twice-once-by-technology-and-again-for-its-own-good/
In the past I used youpak to circumvent geoblock restrictions on videos, but I just tried it with this one and it didn't work. Hooktube is another alternative but apparently it was shut down, even though I just tried it with this video and it worked for me (even though SNL videos aren't blocked here in Portugal and I watched it just fine on youtube).
Just take the 'you' part of YouTube and use 'hook' instead with the full link: https://hooktube.com/watch?v=t7HD2xG92-0
Let me know if it works for you.
Order from Amazon Japan - they ship to the US (if that's where you're located, otherwise double check.) She's currently $25 plus about $14 shipping. If you buy other items from them you can combine on shipping. I got three Figuarts from them at once, shipping stayed around $15.
> IIRC Ackmena actually was recanonized in From A Certain Point of View.
This is Star Wars, so I feel safe being pedantic here lol.
She was technically re-canonized in the reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations (https://smile.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Complete-Locations-DK/dp/1465452729?sa-no-redirect=1)
But does feature in one of the ACPoV stories and is mentioned in another even.
> today I found out the reddit app sucks
If you're on Android I can recommend Sync For Reddit. it's absolutely fantastic and I've been a user of that app for half a decade or longer.
The Force Material podcast did a whole episode on this if you're interested in a deep dive: https://www.buzzsprout.com/191780/750347-george-lucas-star-wars-sequel-trilogy.mp3
I think it's so interesting that some of the most "controversial" decisions of the sequels were directly inherited from Lucas, particularly the Luke in exile thing. I loved Luke's arc in TLJ and it makes me happy that Lucas intended something similar.
I think you're missing the point of what I'm saying here.
Averages can not properly represent bimodal data.
Whether or not the 1 ratings are legitimate, it is apparent that those who dislike the movie rate it to a much greater extreme than those who like it.
If >70% of people liked the film, and the 30% has more extreme opinions, providing only an average does not represent the data.
This can work in the opposite direction too.
This article explains the issue very thoroughly.
Great work. Instead of scotch tape and paper. You should look into moldable foam. You can shape it and paint it while keeping your models lightweight.
Release order.
If you can get your hands on a theatrical release, do it. You can poke around online to find the "despecialized editions" that fans have put together or you can purchase this: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B001EN71DG
Both of those options might be more trouble than they are worth.
For those interested its currently $5.99 for the Kindle version on Amazon US. You can read Kindle books through Amazon's various apps or through their Kindle Cloud Reader which works right with your browser.
