I’m not an Oryx Pro owner, but you are right to be concerned about these issues as they affect a lot of laptops. I recommend asking System76 themselves about it. I own a Clevo laptop which thankfully does not require the NVIDIA graphics to be active when using DisplayPort, as it does indeed drain the battery, especially when playing high resolution YouTube videos without hardware decoding.
Regarding sleep, I suggest you read the Linux kernel documentation (it’s short and sweet, don’t worry): https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/v5.0/admin-guide/pm/sleep-states.html You want your laptop to support S2RAM.
Hibernation is shaky at best in Linux. You're better off changing your workflow than trying to use it. Modern systems consume very little power in suspend, so consider just suspending, or if you want to power off, turn off the system.
This page is pretty decent on setting up hibernation, but if you use UEFI, Pop!_OS uses systemd-boot, and since these instructions are for GRUB, you'll have to figure it out from there. https://endeavouros.com/docs/installation/encrypted-installation-for-notebook-laptop/
First a disclaimer, I've not used either of these machines. However, I am a satisfied System76 owner shopping for my next system, which is what brought me to this reddit. My current notebook is a 5 year old Pangolin (I think) roughly equivalent to the Gazelle. It still runs well but is a bit dated.
You are looking at two rather different machines. In general terms the Galaga is much more elegant and portable but with a somewhat less powerful CPU.
If I were choosing between these two machines and wanted something that I could take to a 90+ minute lecture, the choice would be clear, the Galago. The Kudu may be too large to fit comfortably in lecture hall seating, and its on battery run time may be a challenge as well. The Galago also has thunderbolt, which is a plus for building out a desktop setup.
My solution to the portability vs. power dilemma is to have two different machines, a chromebook for the former and a good quality desktop replacement for the later. So I'm looking at an Oryx (15" HiDPI version) to replace my old Pangolin.
Whatever machine you get, I hope that you enjoy it. My experience with System76 has been entirely positive.
I’m not a Launch owner, but if I was and based on dimensions, I would take a look at Glorious PC Gaming’s wrist rests in their “Compact” size.
I pair their TKL Onyx wrist rest with my Varmilo and love the color and feel.
Here’s a link: Glorious Gaming Wooden Wrist Rest - Compact - Onyx/Black - Mechanical Keyboards Wood Ergonomic Palm Rest| 12x4 inches/19mm Thick (GV-75-DARK) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0N6VPL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZSACR3JNNKHS2SYGRSNP?psc=1
If you need battery power you can use a small UPS. I have my Meerkat and a 4K 32" monitor hooked up to this and it works great.
You need some kind of docking station, like this: Targus USB-C Universal DV4K Docking Station with 100W Power (DOCK190USZ) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07BPQKP8V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8H8NCSCRKWT9Z88R0ZQ9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I also have a 2019 Oryx Pro and it can run pretty hot under load or while gaming. I got myself one of these and it actually made a pretty good dent in temperatures and throttling. The seal doesn't fit perfectly, but I went from a consistent ~80C to a consistent ~50C with the fan turned up all the way. I'll warn you, it is loud.
that's pretty cool! Thanks! looks like a beast!
I was considering something simpler like this: https://www.amazon.com/⭐%EF%B8%8FKLIM-Wind-Laptop-Cooling-Pad/dp/B01MRWE5AX now wondering if this would be powerful enough haha
That link looks similar to the model I bought. I bought mine from Amazon.
On power up, there were no fan noise, no beeps, no screen flashing. I didn't wait 10 seconds. I'll try again and wait 30~60 seconds when I get back from lunch.
It is thicker than any of my other laptops right now. but it is not a problem to put into my laptop bag that I have used for many laptops in the past. I usually carry the laptop, the power supply, by beats studio headphones a wireless mouse and a USB-C dock along with a few office thing. Like a pen, a notepad, a USB flash drive, a phone cord, and a tiny 18W brick for my iPhone in that little laptop bag and it is not heavier than anything else to be honest. I realize that the Oryx Pro is .91 lbs heavier than my MBP but it is not noticeable to me so it really doesn't matter to me. I have this Swiss Army case. https://www.amazon.com/POTOMAC-SwissGear-Wenger-Computer-Rolling/dp/B000AAM1XO/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=swiss+army+computer+bag&qid=1595221413&s=electronics&sr=1-9 And I only use the little bag that comes inside it. I ordered this one from Amazon: [UL Listed] Chanzon 2 Prong Non Polarized 10 ft AC Power Cord for Samsung TV,Sony PS4,Cannon Pixma HP Dell Epson Printer,PS3 PS2 Xbox One,LG TCL Toshiba Hisense Universal Replacement Cable 7A Plug
I do agree the included cord should be longer.

I just want to confirm that the Dev One supports using a single cable USB-C to connect to a charger, USB2 hub, and 24-bit 4k60 monitor. I used this dongle and a 3ft USB-C extension cable. The laptop doesn't display charging status if it's already charged. The rest of my experience:
I've been using the Dev One for the past month doing full-stack web development. It has plenty of performance for this type of work.
I have previously used PopOS on my desktop workstation and dual booted it on a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop. This laptop absolutely provides the best OS experience among these. Chiefly, the battery life is actually acceptable for a linux laptop. I can get 3-4 hours of work done, which is enough for a remote work session at a cafe or away from my desk.
The mobility is pretty good for the price. It's not impressive or a treat to use like my M2 air, but it's solid and light enough that I can carry it around without worry.
The keyboard keys are stiff. Not wobbly at all, keys actuate right at the top of the travel, and the actuation force and key travel are the highest of any laptop keyboard I've used. Actuation feels higher than mechanical browns. I think I would like it better if they were a bit lighter, but overall it's a good keyboard. At least, I don't actively regret my choices when I use it or feel like I need to carry around an external keyboard.
The screen isn't great, but works well enough for viewing dev in dark mode. I would rather have the same screen in 16:10 aspect ratio than a better panel.
Finally, I wish I had more control over the touchpad and nipple sensitivity. This is a software issue so an update could improve. Please System76 and HP, these nipples are too sensitive!
I mean, if you can't change your lifestyle to stop being out with a laptop at 3am, its easier to just roll with it:
Get a pair of 90s hacker sunglasses
Acquire Trench coat
Install Hollywood

I don't think that's a firmware problem. I have a lemp9, and I use my usb-c port for charging, monitor out, and keyboard in. Generally no problems. I had a cheap 3-way hdmi/usb-c/usb adapter that didn't work well -- monitor would flicker off sometimes. But with a better adapter, it works ok for me.
One thing to know is that most adapters will draw some power. So if the power supply isn't providing enough for about 60w to the laptop plus another 10w or so for the adapter, the laptop won't charge. That said, I have a 100w usb-c PD supply, and it drives it all.
If you're still having issues, you could get one of these and use your usb-c charger directly into the barrel charger port: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0831G3LX8/
A healthy dose of eucalyptus oil always does the trick. For any tough or sticky spots, a little isopropyl alcohol is helpful and doesn't leave a residue.
Hah, I had the same issue with the same model a months ago. Contacted System76 but the best they could do was send a whole new back panel. I just ended up grabbing these and they work great.
I use this one with my lemp9 and it works great
I used a 100W GaN PD charger with a cable advertised for 100w.
If I recall correctly, I think it was drawing 55W from the wall when using USB-C and when using a 20V adapter.
Not sure what the state of charge was though.
I have an Oryx Pro 6 with Pop and Windows 10. I just ran the Windows 11 compatibility checker for you, it says I'm good for TPM 2.0 but not good for Secure Boot. I'm guessing it has to do with the open firmware. Otherwise, Windows 10 works perfectly fine for gaming, I have no desire to move to Windows 11.
Screenshot of Windows 11 compatibility checker.
I haven't faced any issues regarding the keyboard or screen. The plastic clips covering the hinge on both sides of the screens did break off within 6 months. I travel a lot so it sees a far share of abuse. I use a generic dock from Amazon that supports 4K but I do not own a 4K screen.
I own the previous version (darp6) of this model: https://system76.com/laptops/darter
And I'm using this as a docking station (everything plugged in including 2 dell monitors), only one usb-c/thunderbolt plugs into laptop: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BC6WFYV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Starcraft II can be played in Linux too via Lutris.
Nice to see that the Xe graphics are awesome! I have big hopes for Intel getting back on their feet now.
Better the site owner having more data than Google having a bit less from millions of users.
Site owners don't need to roll theire own though, alternatives exist though I admit I'm not a site owner so can't evaluate them.
I had one fall off a keyboard and bought a generic pack of various sizes here. I ended up replacing them with all similar ones. Maybe that's an option?

Linux is my primary OS for work and home, but this is my first time hearing about Qubes OS. What a great concept! As a developer, I prefer working with containerized services so I don't junk up my machine. Taking that concept to apps and end users is great. I'll have to check this out.
As for your actual question, there is a HCL listing here that has Galago Pro on it. Not sure if it's the exact model number you want though.
Are you hibernating or suspending? Just suspending will normally work but also uses battery life to keep the RAM energized. Hibernation has always been a little finicky on Linux for a lot of reasons. I spent months trying to get it to work on Arch Linux with no luck.
You can read through this good debug guide to see if you can narrow down the issue: https://01.org/blogs/rzhang/2015/best-practice-debug-linux-suspend/hibernate-issues and specifically https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/power/interface.txt
You could also try switching over to the LTS kernel, sometimes that's been reported to help. If you've recently installed a new kernel module, or performed an upgrade, that can break hibernation too.
Good luck, here be dragons :(
Bitwarden does indeed have cross-platform applications. They have a desktop version for Linux, a browser extension, and mobile apps. Everything is synced cross-device for free. There are also options to self-host your passwords, but I haven't explored this. You could also access your passwords through the web vault. It functions very similarly to a browser's built-in auto-fill.
Migrating shouldn't be too big of an issue. Checkout this article.
You bring up a couple of good points.
One solution I have found for the file access restrictions that flatpaks have is using Flatseal. This lets you easily configure what permissions specific flatpak applications have. For example, I use this to give the Spotify flatpak file access so I can play local files and save downloads to a location of my choosing.
Regarding password auto-filling, I personally recommend using a standalone password manager like bitwarden. I don't use a flatpak browser application, so I don't know if the issue you observed would persist, but this is generally a better solution overall as it can be cross-platform and browser-independent.
Is there any particular reason window controls on the left is better? I've always set them up on the right in every distro I use and haven't found an advantage while searching, except from people who are just used to macs and want a similar experience. And this survey indicates that the majority of ubuntu users prefer them on the right (Even though ubuntu switched to having them on the left back in 2010 which gave people a long period to try that instead https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/06/ubuntu-reveal-results-gnome-desktop-survey)
IMO - Window controls are rarely used so I don't want them in a very prominent position. Top left should be reserved for elements that need to stand out in a design, particularly if you want to encourage people to look there to find out what an app can do, like menus.
Oh man, thanks for this. Only hiccup is that I can't get that card fast enough. Do you know if this card would be a suitable, plug and play alternative? https://www.amazon.com/REKONG-AX210NGW-Wireless-Dual-Band-802-11ax/dp/B08PBRRL9Z/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=m.2+2230+wifi&qid=1638035346&sr=8-4
Thanks!
Here's the set page I found that discusses oFono:
https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/Documentation/User/Bluetooth/
I've tried it and you can't import QB data. From the Gnucash web site: " A: At this time there is no way to import from Quickbooks, and there are no plans to add that functionality. The Quickbooks QBW data format is a proprietary, non-documented file format. So until someone documents the file format or donates a QBW file parser your best bet for importing your QB data into GnuCash would be to output your data in a CSV format and either import the CSV data directly or convert the CSV to QIF and use the QIF importer. "
The ability to export QuickBooks data is becoming more difficult. At the moment the only ability to export data is using .IIF format and it is not easy to work with. It is also an Intuit proprietary format. Intuit has a very high garden wall and clearly their strategy is to move customers to the cloud with QB on-line. I found an open-source accounting program called Manager ( https://www.manager.io/free-accounting-software/ca ) and I am currently managing the two systems in parallel for a couple of years.
Thanks for sharing. I haven't tried key-mapper, but I use a similar tool called autokey that seems to do something similar, but on a per application/window basis allowing finer control. So all in all, my solution has these two layers of key mapping
I'm running EndeavourOS (Arch based) on my 2018 Oryx Pro with no problems. I also made sure to install and configure TLP for battery conservation and power regulation issues. It is available via pacman. Another useful tool is thermald, available from the AUR. EndeavourOS is a fairly new Arch based distribution with a useful and generally friendly set of devs on the Endeavouros forum ( https://endeavouros.com ). The only issue I've run into with installing Arch based systems on System76 machines (I have my Oryx Pro and a recently purchased Adder WS with Arcolinux installed) is with the default systemd boot which comes initially with PopOS. I double boot my laptops with PopOS and ArcoLinux and/or EndeavourOS), and had to replace the systemd boot with grub. This may only be an issue with the Adder WS laptop, but backlight controls which work with PopOS with the Adder's OLED screen have to be manually installed for non-PopOS systems.
You're probably referencing my post. It's 28W. I'm not sure, what exactly is changed in power modes, but you can't just select CPU wattage. Even with Throttlestop and similar CPU tuning utilities you have to fiddle around to tune the CPU performance.
Silent mode did indeed make things sluggish for me. I was in webcamtoy.com to briefly check the webcam, and noticed that in normal mode it ran at ~20-25fps, but when I switched to silent mode, it immediately went to 1-2fps. That really caught me off guard. + things were opening much slower for me. Could be the drivers... but they were all updated, and I had 0 plans to wait for even newer ones with the hope that maybe they will improve something.
After having a noisy gaming laptop, I also finally wanted to get something quiet, reasonably light, and fast, and I thought that this model would do. Oh well...
What System76 is doing is what every Windows PC manufacturer has done for decades. Dell, HP, Lenovo, create a chassis and tell an ODM from Taiwan or China to design a board around it. This interview will tell you everything you need to know. They also hire other companies to design firmware and any software bundled with the laptop. System76 arguably does more than Windows PC manufactures, as they develop firmware, their own Coreboot distribution, their own Linux distribution, disable ME on laptops where its possible, assemble the laptop in the United States, and provide lifetime support even if you use a different OS. I could buy a Clevo from a different reseller for cheaper than the cost of the Sys76, but then I'd have to compile and flash Coreboot on my own without any support and then the cost of the machine becomes more and more justified. While Apple is a lot more involved in hardware and software development-- and lets not play pretend, they make fantastically built computers--they are also making some of the most locked down machines on the market. So yes, I'd rather pay more for a company that supports my values. To me, it's not even a compromise.
I definitely understand having issues when I am doing a lot of tasks that require a lot of processing. Unfortunately I'm referring to even opening websites sometimes or swapping workspaces. I frequently open HTOP to see if anything is using an excessive amount of CPU and close it if so but even with relatively little processing (still multiple pages each using a small amount of processing) I have still experienced some issues.
I would temporarily go back to my XPS 9370 until something new comes out. I honestly am not completely sure. Now that System76 is supporting AMD in their line and looking to get coreboot working with AMD, hopefully it won't be long before a new model comes out. I took a minute to look up another option and just found this: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2020/07/tuxedo-pulse-15-amd-linux-laptop
I just went this route granted I have the G915 and a MX Ergo to use with it as well but it works for me
I always recommend this, super comfortable one. I use the smaller one for Planck keyboards, but they have a lerge one here:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RRW36BB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I had a wooden one for HHKB back when I used those but it really hurt after a while.
You should be able to buy a USB-C 10G card for now. They aren't particularly that expensive.
That’s good, I found this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GLCNTK4/ref=vp_m_pb_TIER3_cmlr_lp_B08B38LQZ6_pd?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B08GLCNTK4&pd_rd_w=IUxGq&pf_rd_p=9fff8a1c-e67d-47e0-b2ba-a6c5e2a0baa0&pf_rd_r=PSB0VD61EYV86R9JCA5S&pd_rd_r=fbdf17e4-e7ba-48b8-b...
It seems to be getting the job done. With so many fans I thought it would be a bit faster but it’s doing alright
This one https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08B38LQZ6
It fits the width and depth of the 17" perfectly, has multiple large size fans, is elevated, high airflow output, and is pretty inexpensive for what is offered. It also doesn't sound particularly noisy, at least not more than the laptop itself IMO.
Anker 65W PIQ 3.0 PPS Compact Fast Charger Adapter

Requires a usb-c to usb-c cable. I plugged it in yesterday and it immediately worked. I don't recall how long it usually takes to charge with the power supply, but my laptop went from 91% to 100% in maybe 30 minutes?
Definitely talk to System76 to see if they will replace since it is less than a year.
For anyone interested in a longer cord, here is a $8 six foot cord. They are standard:

I've been using the ThinkPad Thunderbolt dock with my oryp6, and it's been working like a charm! I installed BoltCTL to connect to it, and I've had no issues with it! It can drive high res displays and multiple displays along with having a large amount of io and ethernet!
I have a Darter Pro but the question is still relevant. I have several places I use a charger so it depends on where I am. I have the factory charger plugged in by the couch. On my desk at work, I have the Anker PowerPort Atom PD 4. I have the same charger by my bed so I can charge the laptop and my phone at the same time, although it won't do both if the laptop is awake so it's really just for convenience when I want to recharge the laptop overnight. That charger has 2 USBC PD ports and can deliver 100W to one or 50W to both. If anything is plugged into the USB A ports, I think the max wattage to the USBC ports is 50W.
EDIT: markdown nonsense
The Bose 700 headphones mentioned previously are probably the top choice and will require a premium price tag. I use the Sony WH-1000XM4 with my Lemur Pro 10 on Linux Mint and they work fantastic. I've done several Zoom calls with them.
As a note, you have to force the headphones into HSP mode in order for the mic to work on Linux. This isn't just something with these headphones, this is something I've had to do with every pair of BT headphones I've ever used on Linux. HSP is the only mode available on Linux out of the box that allows for use of the headphones and mic at once. A2DP does not and will only deliver audio over the speakers. There are numerous threads around about people complaining on it but the summary that I got from it was that the protocols used on Windows and macOS to do this are proprietary and require licensing plus motivation for someone to integrate them.
I haven't had a single issue with ProtonVPN... Did you use protonvpn-client? Literally didn't have to anything to get mine to work....
Pro tip: never just copy and paste into terminal from the web... Unless you know what you are doing.
Fixing internet used to be the first thing you HAD to do on linux 20 years ago.
I'm using this one, it charges faster than the included one, and it comes with a generous 2 meter cable.
I bought these, and they work perfectly.
AFAIK, they are not XMP aware, so make sure your memory has the speed and timings you want in JEDEC, not XMP.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K9BMWDD
I was able to verify I can get DDR4-3200 at CL20 with this kit. Since you only need 1 stick, you'll have to find the part number for just one stick out of this kit.
This is the one I put in my Lemur pro I bought back in August. Back then it was $122, guess ram has gone up since then. either way, works like a charm.

Upvoting the docking station, and also adding a recommendation for any of the docks listed here: Docking Station Support or the Enklen AL2NHCX7, which is what I use. Just be aware that due to hardware limitations you’ll only be able to use two external monitors, one on a HDMI port and one of the DP ports.
Late to the the party but this is a great 65W GaN charger. You will need to buy a USB-C to USB-C cable if you don't have one.
This works perfectly with my Lemur Pro and Mac, fast charges my phone and does not seem to lose charging power when all 3 connections are used.

You can get a longer 3-prong laptop AC cable. The connector is IEC 60320 or google "laptop power cable". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60320
You can get one long enough where the brick can be closer to the laptop (on the table with you).
You can find something like it here: https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Gateway-Notebook-Computer-Charger/dp/B01JBDY3GS/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=laptop+power+cord&qid=1608848927&sr=8-5
You can also purchase a USB-C charger at minimum 65W and make sure the USB-C cable is long.
Or you can go for a separate extension cord. I had to carry one because my HP PSU was very short for the 2-prong. I find using the 2 prong better than the longer 3 prong because easier to find a plug in some places.
I have no idea if they work. I have a Lemp10 and it gets hot when I’m compiling code or watching videos but was gonna try some of the various options.
Just discovered and now I am frothing over AMD based Meerkat :o But this is actually worse in my case because it only have 8GB and that wont do compiling Rust lmao
why that over a dell wd19tb? https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Thunderbolt-Docking-Station-Delivery/dp/B07V867LW4, i am curious because i have seen others recommend that caldigit as well.
Not exactly a dock, I got this Sabrent KVM switch and haven't set it up yet. I need to switch between Mac for work and Lemp10.
I'm using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076HXWR9M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with my Lemp9 and it works great. Not sure about compatibility with the docs you mentioned.
This happens with time, for sure. I actually was redoing the paste on my desktop because the fan was running to loud around the time I bought my Lemur Pro, so I went ahead and put a little bit of the good thermal paste on it even though I hadn't owned it for a month yet, and it made it noticeably quieter for day to day tasks.
For this last round of paste I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011F7W3LU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&fpw=alm. There will be good documentation on how to do this on System76's support page.
This is what I had for lemp9:
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2666MHz-Memory-Computers-M471A4G43MB1/dp/B07N124XDS
No issues but I didn't exactly run benchmarks either. Would there be concerns about the RAM not compatible? The service manual looks the same (could just be outdated though).

I just mean that I got a portable power source in case I run out of juice. I don't think you can buy them from System76 but there are tons on Amazon, New Egg, etc. I got this one from Omnicharge
This worked great for me using a System 76 computer and firefox: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002N3MM6W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Me too. I also bought this, a USB-C to barrel dongle. I got it so I don't have to carry two chargers around and still do firmware updates if need be. Super handy.
I have a new Oryx Pro, which won't charge via thunderbolt, but I wanted a dock that would do everything else. I started with a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Mini, which _worked_, sorta, but was _super_ flakey and USB was unusably laggy. I returned that and got an Anker PowerExpand Elete (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B087219P5J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it works like a dream, both in Pop and Windows

Thanks for the tip regarding not using it as a mat. I guess I'll just have it around instead of literally under the laptop, hope to create the habit of always storing it.
The bag looks nice but I was looking for something with a lower profile, like this: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B075GHL8XM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A1V0D00L6QXWB9&psc=1. I never had sleeve bags so I'm not sure how realistically feels when I have the laptop plus something bulge-y like a mouse in its pocket.
This is what I am using to carry mine.

I also carry a BiPAP machine, headphones, mouse, controller, and cell charger. I would recommend against using a bag for a mat, it could effect cooling performance in a similar way to using it on a bed. You might want to get a stand or cooling pad to elevate and cool it.
I think this is the power brick. https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charger-Compatible-ADP-180MB-A17-180P4A/dp/B07GFSXLC6/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=chicony+A17-180P4a&qid=1595246953&sr=8-3 System76 Charges $125 for an extra. This one is only 50 bucks.
MacOS is actually Unix certified and POSIX compliant, so it's a branch next to Linux. It's much more similar to Linux than Windows is.
In fact, you might as well get comfortable with the command line right away (assuming you're not already) and install Homebrew on MacOS. It's a package manager, similar to what you'll use on Pop! (Apt I believe, as I don't use Pop).
Keywords 'man' and 'tldr' (you'll have to install that one through homebrew on MacOS) are your friends.
But I recommend this book, and this book.
I'll be getting this one along with dual FHD displays soon-ish: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Docking-DisplayPort-Charging/dp/B07F2VRRJ9
I'll update this comment (maybe do a review post?) once I get it and have a chance to fully test it. It's expensive, but I'm eyeing it because it has:
Definitely not the only option. I just wanted one compatible with TB (my work laptop), DisplayPort and Ethernet. I’m sure there are cheaper alternatives.
This barrel charger works perfectly. I got my lemur pro this week and the charger this morning. Used it all day, perfect fit. (The are lots like this one on Amazon with this pin size and power specs.) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RL5K812/
Why not Corsair Veng LPX? Just doing a search on Amazon show over 27k reviews at an average of 4.7. Hard to beat that. $140.

Thanks, the charging worked when I bought a USB-C charger. Although, the first charger I bought did not work, even though it was 60 watts. So there seems to be firmware compatibility issues with some chargers. The one that worked for me is the 60 watt Anker.

I see you tested this model.
Any luck with the next version ?

A simple Thunderbolt 3 dock such as this https://www.amazon.com/Certified-Cable-Matters-Thunderbolt-Computers/dp/B01DYFHYNS is more than enough.
If you have further queries on Thunderbolt 3 on Linux, fire a question this way.
