Sure! I actually used a magnetic screen door for this setup, then lined the interior of the hatch with velcro tape. I didn't want to do anything too permanent to the car itself, I used small amount of high-heat hot glue to make sure the velcro doesn't unstick from the sides.
I then simply started in the top center of the hatch door, using the magnetic entrance on the screen as the center anchor point, and attached it via velcro from there. I did some fancy origami folding around the edges to make the thing fit the contours of my specific hatch back. If you want more details or pictures, let me know! I could try and take a few more up-close pictures.
I'm currently in the process of adding a non/magnetic zipper to the entrance for a bit more security.
I'll be picking this up this spring.

Wow that got some attention. These are the feeders - they came in a pack of 2 - the other is rubber banded to my awning pole. You can also hold them in your hand without using the suction cup. Maybe my next video project.

Electric pump user here - it's super noisy, but flows great, even with the major resistance of two huge filters in the way. Admittedly, I bought pretty much the cheapest pump possible, currently $30 on amazon.
Been using it for years, works great, self priming too which is super useful.
Photo of install including filters. First is a 1 micron sediment (I think, it's been a while) and second is a carbon matrix. First gets rid of any sorta "large" gunk, second removes bad tastes, chemicals, you name it. Same material as pitcher style water filters.

I would also recommend some extra rubber or a pad near the top of the door because even after nearly a year full time I still occasionally forget to stoop low enough and hit my head lol
Hey! So I used 2 anchors that I fixed directly into the metal framework of the van (same as I did with the panelling, this saved me a tonne of time and it’s really strong!
For the screws, they’re used for screwing plasterboard to metal struts, the tips act like a drilling bit:

I didn't see Trail sense in your list. It's a GPS, beacon setter, and weather app, that doesn't require internet to work and bonus it's FOSS, only on Android though.

*Update: Commander compass go

Why would someone downvote this?
I got a Alpicool fridge for $300 on Amazon. Its a pretty good size and relatively affordable. I was using it as a freezer at first but it just drained my battery. I switched it over to fridge mode and that was a much more even power draw. My 100w solar is plenty to run the fridge (i do miss ice cream though).
If you are going to keep the fridge you have for now, maybe turn off the freezer section or see if you can set both sections to 35 degrees (2 Celsius), that would be less of a strain on your battery
Wrote an Android app with many functions designed for vanlifers. For example you can lists of nearby locations like: wifi spots potable water restrooms parking where overnight is allowed parking near lakes/rivers & much more ...
Plus tools like weather report, timer, calculator, quick reader for 4 reddit groups. Always visible in the notification bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SecretsAndAdventures.NotiTool
Useful? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Full disclosure: The app is free. Future updates may add paid features, because some APIs (Google maps) cost me money when peoples use them. I have to cover that.
These are RockyMounts that I ordered off Amazon (I was having trouble tracking them down locally). They actually have adapters to fit multiple types of bikes. I believe they can fit anything but a fatty. Here's the link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00545JTSA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If they don't already have some small, easy to store and assemble camping chairs, I received these as a gift from a friend and I love them!!
Also there's a really helpful free Android app definitely worth downloading, Trail sense.
Which uses GPS and doesn't need cell signal to work. It allows you to create GPS beacon markers, so for example you can mark where your vehicle is before going on a hike. It can then guide you right back to you car if you're lost.

Anywhere you'd store that fuel would be above the tank the engine draws from, and gravity can do all the transfer work after a couple squeezes on something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/OKOOLCAMP-Siphon-Pump-Gasoline-Durable/dp/B091YPJXX3/
... which stores in less space more flexibly, and is a fraction of the price. Plus the containers your linked product is meant for should be refueled on the ground for safety reasons, meaning you'd still need to lift the fuel.
It's a neat product, but it's gimmicky for the benefit it'll bring.

If you have the cash, here is the one I linked above as a solo unit, not a kit. Bang for the buck, this sucker is proven worth it's weight. It's light enough to put in a backpack too.
What I like the most about it is that I can operate the battery while it's charging as we drive down the road. It basically acts as a mini inverter when plugged into the DC12. I drove 500 miles with a 3 prong, 240w heating pad plugged into the battery cell and the battery charging off the DC12 while driving. Overall, this is the best purchase I have made for the camper.
I should’ve bought two of these instead of my 4 AGM batteries. Can’t return them. Oh well :/

Propane will save you a shit ton. Probably a thousand bucks in Batteries plus a far larger inverter. Propane is a litte scary at frist, but always have a bit of ventilation and a CO alarm. Propane would work fine for half of your requirements IMO. Can you use battery powered lights? If so, then you really only need to power your comp, fridge, and phone. If you drive like at all then you should just charge your phone and a spare battery pack from the cigarette lighter. Cutting it down to 2 things. Which will probably allow you to get away with a system about 30% of the size. What are you doing with your P.C for 15 hours? Im guessing work of somekind. If your doing emails and video conferencing stuff then I would highly recommend a tablet or small laptop, even if you need a strong P.C for video rendering or gaming, do you need it on for 15 hours? Also a gaming laptop will be a bit better on power. You need to buy a Electricity Monitor, like This and start loging how much you really need, then people can start recommending actual setups.
A CO monitor is a good idea especially if your going to use that heater or cook inside. The other thing I have found invaluable is these magnetic clips. We use them to hang up jackets, string lights, hold the reflectix in the windows they are awesome!
Make your life easier with water. Get a 5gal jug and one of these, either battery operated or manual pump. Lots of styles.
You never want to run out of water. Those 5gal jugs are cheap and can be refilled. Having a pump removes the ordeal of getting a glass of water.
They may or may not be appropriate for your plumbing set-up. Still...kinda life changing for camping once I learned of them.
I think one of these "volcano" lid things would help as well.
I started without one and I’m now making a small one with a rechargeable cooler faucet. It’ll have a small sink with a 5 gallon fresh and a 5 gallon grey water below. Here’s the link to the faucet:

We have a portable toilet, but we've never used it. We normally go to the bathroom at gas stations, rest stops, campsites, the woods, etc.
I have 200AH of LiFePO4 ( 2 battleborn batteries ). With lithium, I can do a (mostly) full discharge, instead of 50% with lead acid batteries.
In summer, if I park in the sun, I can do a full recharge of the batteries. In winter, I have to be more careful.
Get a battery monitor - I have this: https://smile.amazon.com/Victron-Energy-MONITOR-VTBMV-S-BMV-712-Battery/dp/B075RTSTKS. I love the bluetooth integration - I just use my phone to check all the time. With a proper battery monitor, you can really track the energy going into and out of your batteries. And you can tell if your battery bank is really holding the amount of energy that it is supposed to. It's really hard to fully understand what is going on from voltage readings alone.
I also have a battery to battery charger that can charge while I drive and I can plug into shore power to charge from 120V when that's available.
What type of fridge do you have? Do you run it off 12V directly, or through an inverter? I have a boat fridge that is highly efficient and runs directly off 12V (averages 1 amp). Measure the usage of your fridge, it might be using WAY more energy than you think. Most home fridges don't really care about power usage to the extent needed for vanlife - and just running the inverter uses a ton of power.
Oh, to get level... gotcha! Have you thought about getting some leveling blocks like these: https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Lynx-00015-Lynx-Levelers-Pack/dp/B0028PJ10K/ They make a lot more places comfortable. I have a chainsaw and a few handsaws, and I try to clear obstacles like that when I can. Just curious about that.
Batteries can take quite a while to heat up inside. I keep my Goal Zero 1500X inside a large, soft-sided cooler, which helps regulate the temp from the extremes, at least for a while. I'm considering adding something like this inside the cooler for extended cold periods.
Damn that's sweet! I'm working on adding solar too, have done it once before with a 1984 Pajero I used to have. An unexpected source of really good technical knowledge and wiring diagrams, etc is the app/site Pinterest. I got a ruggedised metal case for the pi and mounted on the ceiling. The ARM CPU makes it very power efficient and the screen is low power too so would be perfect for solar, it runs for days off a small external battery pack. There are better ones now with touch screen and more supported devices and sound like this one: https://www.amazon.com/KOORUI-Portable-Protective-Speakers-External/dp/B0B6DQT72C/
Obd2 port tracker. Best option I would say, they can give you notifications on any movement of the vehicle, discrete and 99% of people wouldn’t notice them. They power directly off the obd2 port that every vehicle since 1996 is fitted with. Have a sim connection for the data transmission, gps tracking and live updates. There as safe as you’re going to find and the cheapest option. 0 fuss and hassle (no hardwiring or batteries to run out etc) and they will notify you if there unplugged etc. available loads of places and multiple apps to manage them. I run a company with vans all over Europe, this is the best option we found will leave an example of one. Not a recommendation of the specific one, just so you know what to look for. They have loads of different options of capabilities etc. We have them supplied by our fuel card company, so never actually paid for one outside of work.
Definitely a good option. All the options you have will have a compromise somewhere.🤷♂️🤟
The one you have looks like it goes for $20-22.

You say that, but the monitor in the pic above comes with a shunt.

I'm guessing the whole package is cheaply made (after all, it's being sold for $22!) and hence has the accuracy of a thrown bowling ball.
Search "RV shower drain" for a shallow 3.5" drain.
Then use the Valterra 90 degree drain connector.
Useless
Made the mistake of buying the software and quickly realised it's not only buggy but missing key features (e.g. exporting your design with measurements so you can actually build it!)
Asked for a refund within 24 hours. Currently arguing for a refund despite their policy including a 14 day cooling off period.
Whole thing seems like a con: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.vanspace3d.com
I was thinking of ordering this, and just plugging the bottom.
Theoretically it would be more energy efficient then the space heater. It takes less to get it to temp and then it holds temp. I personally wouldn’t like this still at an option. It’s a little bulky and dangerous in van.
You should just get one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-F232000-Indoor-Safe-Portable/dp/B002G51BZU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=54895223686&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrcH31Nvc-wIV1cDICh2thwBaEAAYASAAEgLB7PD_BwE&hvadid=410007733591&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9002576&hvnetw=g&...

Do you know if an electric radiator would be better than an actual heater, like would its power drain be more like a blanket, or a heater. Such as this one for example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-Hobbs-Fin-Filled-Radiator/dp/B08BCRYWHG

Get a deep cycle battery and a bunch of 4 gauge wire. It would be best to put a charge regulator between the two. A dc to dc converter is better but a couple hundred bucks. I use this lil guy for 20 bucks.
I have one recommendation. If you can get double-layered reflective bubble insulation, I recommend cutting out panels that fit into your windows, and into your front and rear winshield. Those will reflect your heat back into the car, which does way more to keep you warm than you might expect.
I recommend getting card board or perhaps stiff butcher paper to first trace out the shape of the window, then using those to cut shapes from the bubble insulation, but leave maybe 1cm wider margin around than you need, and when you fit it to the window, trim it down just enough to fit snugly with an exact fit. Do this for all windows, and for your sunroof if you have one.
This is a very inexpensive way to make your car far more insulated in the winter.
If you don't mind the insides of the car being a bit ugly, you may even want to line the entire ceiling of your car with double-bubble heat-reflective barrier material. Radiative heat loss is much more significant a source of heat loss (and heat gain during the summer) than people realize.
My husband and I each have one of these felt purse organizers that serve as our "nightstand" in the van. They're soft so there's no sharp edges, but stand up on their own, and I often just wedge mine next to my pillow. Mine's got phone, lip balm, nighttime meds, Kobo, nail file, moisturizer, etc, and we generally throw our wallets and keys in there so they're not loose in the van somewhere. We each have a little rechargeable book light clipped to them for a soft light after the main lights are off. I can even stick my water bottle into one of the inner pockets.
Small or medium is plenty big - I have a couple of larger ones for other organization but they are kinda unwieldy. I have other small and mediums in backpacks and for a bathroom organizer.
> I'm looking for an external, temperature driven, relais.
A temp controller like this can be used to activate relays or warming pads.
IMO, warming the battery is a simpler and more robust solution:
If you really want to cut solar input with a relay and if solar is the only charging source :
temp controller -> relay on one of the panel wires leading to the to solar charge controller
This is currently for sale on FB marketplace nearby me. More photos in the link. Wasn't sure the rules on the marketplace stuff, it's not my listing or van. Just thought it was worth sharing here.
I also had an AT&T plan and i was surprised that i got some coverage in the city outskirts, what I did was buy the WeBoost external antenna only (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HW5CJ1H/) and it helped a lot since my router was inside my van (which is pretty much a faraday cage), so just having the antenna outside allowed me to get better signal. Speeds would usually go from single digits to 10-30 which was good enough for my needs.
Where do you shower/use the bathroom?
Pee in a jug and shower at gym. Works great. Get a shower bag together. I got this one, its mesh so my towel doesn't get moldy but also not see through.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00POB398K.
Is there some sort of battery/generator for keeping my electronics charged and maybe a light on at night?
What you want is an inverter off of Amazon, you connect to your battery and it provides 120 volts to charge laptops and phones and lights.
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=inverter
Where do you park so you don’t get bothered by the police?
That's not easy answer. You get a feel for it after a bit. You get an instinct for good parking spots. You have to worry about not only cops but neighborhood people, robbers, weirdo homeless, etc.
I started with just a mattress in the back of a ford econoline. I moved to Los Angeles so I wouldn't have to worry about weather. I got a job there and just showered in the morning at the gym and worked during the day and then slept in the van at night. I would take weekend trips all over. Then my boss let me go remote and I just van lifed all up and down the west coast. It was great! This was all working from coffeeshops, coworking spaces. It honestly worked great and was a really fun time in my life.
Then Life changes happened and I ended up back in my home town in the US south and couldn't sleep in the van during the summer so got a place.
I kept working on the van though, and ended up adding a full electrical system with lion batteries, a water tank for showers, got starlink, a stove etc.
It's kind of an addiction.
You count just mount a remote like this one I suppose: https://www.amazon.com/Dimmer-Controller-Wireless-Remote-Lights/dp/B08TQGMVXR/ref=sr_1_13?crid=LZKANMYAIUM0&keywords=led+strip+light+touch+dimmer&qid=1666716219&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIwLjAwIiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefi...

Thats pretty pimp!! You pretty much maxed it out!! Since it seems metal... you can use some magnets off of amazon theyre supposed to be used to fish for metal, but i use them on my walls and ceiling in my bus!! They make great web basket holders, and even coat hooks!!
Hello there. I finally got all the parts. If you’re up for it, can I take you up on the help? This was from my other post. Let me see if I can post a pic of the wires
I have a arc xci55ax Verizon 5g Internet Home Router. I took a look at the specs and it looks like I should be able to hook this up 12v. I got the wires stripped and it's confusing, was hoping if anybody had some insight on this. I have attached a photo.
A few things:
Can someone help me connect these wires together? could I strip them and twirl them together and put heat shrink around it?
What I am trying to accomplish is to run the 5G home router on 12v.
The kits normally come with a low-quality filter. I upgraded to these ones, although I have not yet installed my heater in my new van yet.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QL0YEXM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I have a homepod mini as a hub since it runs on USB-C. My network is a TP-Link AX3000, i bought a USB A to 12V converter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MT3S6RZ/) so that I don't have to run it off my inverter.
My setup is fairly simple, lights (4 total, 2 ceiling strips, 2 cabinet under-mount) and 1 Eufy security camera; I only turn if on if i leave the van so that i can monitor it.
My main goal was to automate the lights since its so dark in my van.
Also, I chose homekit because homekit doesnt require an internet connection for things to work. As long as the local network is on, things work.
Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZOKJVAG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Just get one of the dispensers that have a little resistance to make one handed use easy, but also don't just let the towels spin forever. I have one in the kitchen and will be getting another for the van.
Not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but I'm referring to something that presses against the paper towels, not something limits the rotation of the spindle. This item isn't quite right, but take a look at the arm. https://www.amazon.com/Holder-Countertop-Standing-Stainless-Silver/dp/B0B41V4PN1
This sort of thing is easy to install. Two wires in, two wires out. They have various options for different currents, the 6Amp one should suit your needs for the router.
I have a pretty basic arm from Amazon that I have a 27" mounted to. I only use it for work but it could be a TV as well if I wanted. I put in straps to hold it in place while driving, otherwise it would bounce all over the place

I have a Sprinter 170", i have two vent fans; rear and front, so right now only 4 will fit. Had i known that these 175 watt rigid panels existed, i would have gone with those.
You should measure to make sure, these are 26.3" wide x 52.2" long (exact width of van).
Just an FYI, i'm talking about these rigid panels, I've never used the flexible ones, but have heard from people on youtube that flexible panels do not last as long (BUT not sure how long you will be doing van life so maybe 10 year life span wont matter):
https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-175-Watt-Volt-Monocrystalline/dp/B08CMCZV9J/
Are you married to that isolator? What I'm asking is that there are simpler ones that don't require all those connections and wiring.
Here's an example:

Not OP, but i use this 12V plug to USB-C to power my 2019 Macbook Pro 16". It works great and i dont have to turn on my large inverter which uses 50 watts just by being on. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083QFT424/
Get a Fuse Block, you dont want to plug anything straight into your battery, things could get damaged.
I use the blue sea one, but others on amazon are cheaper:

Once you have a fuse block, connect it to the battery, then connect accessories to the fuseblock.
Yes, its called welding cable or car battery cable; this is what i used in my system, it has worked well:

You can setup a wifi router w/o actual internet so you have a network for your cameras and viewing device to connect to, if you use those kind of cameras.
This is probably what you're wanting though: https://www.amazon.com/Douxury-Display-Recording-Function-Waterproof/dp/B07J46P645/
I'm in the UK (let's not get into the politics of it ) and I use PetrolPrices which works well enough for here.
As with (I assume) all of these apps, the info is crowdsourced, so it's more reliably up to date for frequently used sources of fuel. Frustratingly, the best prices are generally to be found in the slightly off-the-beaten-path places. It does tell you how recently the prices were updated for each place, though (if you look at the list view - it's not visible on the map view) so if you keep an eye on where prices have been going over the last few days, you can reasonably guess what the price would be if it were up to date (i.e. if everywhere has been increasing their prices, you can guestimate that they've all added the same 4p in the last three days or whatever...)
With the crowdsourced nature of the data in these apps you might be better off getting apps specific to each country you'll be visiting. At the least, whichever app is most used in a given area will generally have the most up to date data (up-to-data? :-P)
On that basis, it's probably worth indicating what country/countries you're interested in data for.
I'll be watching this post in case anyone comes up with some good suggestions I might want to try out :-P
I have Crohn's so this was an important question for me.
I got a bucket toilet, link below. I line it with two super resistant bin bags, and put a layer of cat litter in the bottom to absorb excess liquids. Then a layer of sawdust. Do my business, cover it with plenty of sawdust (at least an inch all over). Toilet paper goes in a separate bin or bag.
This is all pretty safe to throw into the municipal trash along with other people's pet waste (in Spain, everyone puts their rubbish in big communal bins on the street at in the evening and they're emptied daily).
I have a separate urinal for pissing - it's the urine that smells more than the shit.
Good chance that 2nd and 3rd pics are also holes, but the frame of the car below it (see the bolt) is making it look and feel solid.
I'd get a wire drill brush: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-in-wire-cup-brush-with-14-in-shank-60320.html
And this POR-15 kit: https://www.amazon.com/POR-15-40909-Gloss-Black-Stop/dp/B077J66P27
I'm using a separate DC/DC charger for my setup because the secondary battery for my fridge, etc. is AGM so it charges differently than the flooded lead acid under the hood. You could just tie them together, but it's not ideal.
This is the charger I'm using at the moment: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08X6HH5GW
(apologies if we can't post links to stuff, I'm not promoting that just sharing an example I know works for what the OP is after)
Prior to this one I had a marine charger that was designed to charge trolling motor batteries and it worked for about 2 years then crapped out in the middle of a trip. I worked with tech support from the charger company for a while, couldn't convince them the charger died in spite of all my diagnostic data, so I just ate the loss and replaced it.
All aftermarket backup cameras can do this. They are normally spliced into the power for the reverse lights on your car (white lights), so when you put your car in reverse, they get power and the backup camera and monitor turn on.
To have the backup camera on at all times just connect it to your fuse block in your electrical system. Note, the monitor has a power switch that you can use to turn it off when you leave your van.
I bought this backup camera because it matches the Sprinter stock camera/brake light, but any other backup camera on amazon should work:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078S1BNTB/
Tip: Try not to buy the cameras with LED lights, sure it's helpful when you need to backup since they provide a lot of light, but since you will be running it all the time, those lights will also be on all of the time. It might annoy drivers behind you.
Regular white paint isn't going to do squat. There are special coatings that are white that may help. I have no experience with this product but it or something similar is used on some house roofs here in Phoenix. https://www.amazon.com/Gardner-SK-7701-Sta-Kool-Elastomeric-Coating/dp/B0002YQ1KC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=heat+reflective+paint&qid=1659904935&sr=8-6
Also, I've found that $30 worth of some common threaded adapters for various plumbing fittings are well worth it. I recall once where we arrived at a paid campground late at night after like an 8+ hour driving day and we were looking forward to a nice shower. Well, turns out the showers were token operated (not coins - had to buy the tokens) and no one was there to sell them. Ended up hooking up our outside shower hose to the water feed into the sink faucet (which was pre-mixed to be between warm and hot). Endless hot shower! Just needed an adapter, pliers, a water/silcock key and some ingenuity.
Could certainly uses a similar setup to use the feed to a sink to fill our water tank if we ever needed it.
ANYTHING from Ancor Marine wire is really good.
ebay or craigslist? sometime REI has sales and 20% coupons if you're a member.
as much as i hate amazon, i got my pocket rocket for $10 from them. it's been my go-to for since 2015.
I keep it in this GSI Cookset along with my gas canister. i can't camp without it.
I have a camp stove, but only use it outside. For cold mornings I use this to boil enough water for washing and/or oatmeal/caffeine before I have the energy to leave the van. It's very slow, but does the job https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07SLXNHLB/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These are great, fuel efficient and canisters are available just about everywhere. Walmart had the stove for less than $20 https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08WTNVPB7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_CX8PQZ3PT27VZ4D7FBVY
Me and my girlfriend have used one similar to this for years now.
It's one of the most essential parts of our travel kit because she likes tea so much. Just needs a cigarette lighter plug.
It takes a long time to boil the water, of course. A 12v outlet doesn't provide much power, and it takes a lot of power to boil water. Takes 20-40 minutes to come to a full boil. Because we're worried about draining the battery, we only do this while the van is running ... usually during a long drive from one place to another.
Extra pro tip: get one that's big enough to fit a standard can inside. You can then use it to heat up a whole can of soup/pasta/veggies/whatever by putting the can in there, filling water around the can, and just waiting for it to get hot. We've also used it to make hardboiled eggs and cook hot dogs.
And, of course, the hot water is good for more than just tea. It's good for making ramen, oatmeal, grits, instant mashed potatoes, coffee, all kinds of things are out there that just need the addition of hot water.
If you really really don't want to deal with a tiny bit of stove fuel, there are 12v kettles. I recommend getting the smallest one you can live with as that will likely be fastest and most efficient. A friend of mine with an RV and very picky coffee sensibilities has one like this that is temperature-adjustable. Note, though, that even that fancy guy boasts a boil time of SIXTEEN MINUTES.
Save all your time and energy. You can buy kits like this on Amazon, that comes with the tarp, fly poles to keep it open, and corner poles, stakes and cord. Complete kit: $70.
https://www.amazon.com/1-2-Both-Off-Disconnect-Waterproof-Isolator-1250Amps/dp/B07HT44MP5/
It has 3 lugs on the back - "1", "2", and "com". Turning the switch selects which of the numbered lugs gets connected to the common lug - 1, 2, both, or neither.
You'd connect the positive inputs to the numbered lugs, the positive that goes into the Fisher Price battery on the common lug, and connect all the negatives together, which is a great spot for a chassis bond.
So I bought a portable all-in-one hot water shower. It's not great but it might be a happy medium for the two of you, and then you won't have to waste space making a "shower/bathroom" inside your rig. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KGFPVG6/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
NMO Antenna mount. Standardized mount used to attach many different types of antennas, such as Ham radio, CB, or business band.
If you don't want an antenna, you can get a rubber plug to fill in the hole like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Tram-NMO-Rubber-Hole-Plug/dp/B00IDTJ36C
on paper, [this](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083NXBW84/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_1?smid=A1UZYKJV2F5LNL&th=1) appears to be the best suited to my needs, but like you said, ratings and reviews don't tell the whole picture.
