But then again, the military could go psycho paranoid, as can be seen in the Left 4 Dead series, particularly in the web comic The Passing. But if not for that, I could see things going this way, if the zombies even manage to get close enough to the military.
Every argument about the military being over run that I've ever seen always seems to discount the military's air and naval power, as well as the fact that the military does have vehicles that I doubt any sort of zombie short of a L4D style tank, could get through.
You can make rope from almost anything that has fiber. A good Source is dead plants or animal fur. Which is great for the hunters who don't want there kill to go to waste.

You can also get this on your android phone for free from here.
I use this one.
For me, the deciding factor was the dial switch. Makes it so much easier to use, and it never turns on by accident. Unlike other headlamps that I have used.
I don't know... I have the Skeletool, and it's got everything I need day to day in it. The most important part that's missing from a swiss army knife is the pliers. Those things are crazy useful.
I downloaded an offline survival manual and it has tons of information survival tips. These two are very good https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromo.dev58263.app190320

How do you stay a step ahead if you don't know what you're dealing with, though? Are they fast? Slow? Intelligent? Can they be killed as easily as a regular person or do they require headshots? For instance, what kind of weapons do you pack? If they're runners, you might want an automatic weapon so you can spray-and-pray in a tight spot, but if they're slow, stumbling walkers, you'd be better off with a semi-auto. For runners, a melee weapon might not even be worth carrying. The point is, it absolutely matters what sort of zombie it is! As soon as it came, I thought apocalypse.
That's a neat little gadget. Though there are better variants meant for much heavier wider wooden shafts. Such as the cold steel variant.
Personally I rather like this weird trowel thing.
https://www.amazon.com/G4Free-Backpacking-Multitool-Ultralight-Detecting/dp/B08K4BGMNP/
As I said the hatchets are designed to split wood without getting stuck so against a skull, which unlike a log is not solid all the way through, I’m pretty confident in their ability to smash their way through with out getting stuck.
As for the weight, they all fall between two five pounds. What would you consider to be a properly weighted zombie weapon?
Just get this thing. It’s $21 USD Watch the video for a good 90s style visualization of its abilities.
I just went on the UK Amazon site to see if they sell those outdoorsman kitchen knives which, while not an ideal weapon, are still a great tool and could be used for game preparation.
Would something like this be allowed? I can't imagine it would be on Amazon if it was illegal there.
Also, sharpener is probably a good addition if you have any blades
Ontario Knife Co 1-18" Military Machete https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001WBIEY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_BXS2GZ6S0WGJQ8DE9RRM
> Is it good ? > >
No, that apppeared to be a small survival knife, not a machete.
The link above is to their 18 inch military style machete. I’ve used one, they’re good.
> And what about Amazonas and Albainox ?
Are those retail stores are brand names?
This might be the sort of thing where you need to talk to someone French. I can tell you what to look for in general, but not how to shop for it where you live.
Got links?
Here’s all you need.

These are cheap, but they’re good. They’re basically everywhere in South America.
If I could choose only one pair of footwear from my current collection to take with me at the beginning of a zombie apocalypse, then it would be my pair of Merrell hiking boots.
The main reasons:
With a name like Window shopper I don't think for a moment your going to even be a contender against a Zombie - Your worried about 3lbs. hummm - You don't measure using your cell phone weight do you? You never done any physical demanding work - have you?
My first suggestion is to get some of those wrist weights of 5 lbs. each. and wear them all day and ankle weights same 5 lbs. each, that will be 20 lbs. Wear that 24/7 for a couple of months and that will be good training to get you started for your Zombie Apocalyspe yes even sleep with them on, and than when someone hands you a 5 lb. hammer you won't even feel it, and you will be able to swing that all day long and remain balanced because your use to - accumulated to the weight, and have all the smaller muscles toned already for that weight.
weights - link best money you ever spent! Zombies are predator's of the Supernatural kind and there not going to wait for you to get ready! Your not going to flap your way out from the situation, time to get ready has come and gone already. Especially if people are making teams and they only have 10x 5lb hammers after raiding a store, let see you swing that hammer, hit this here tires at varies positions. We need soldiers that can do, that are not a team liability, the weak link that's going to get us killed. Things might happen like that say there a group of 20 guys to pick from. and only 10 hammers. The rest of the people get left behind, it's the newer life of survival and self worth. You only have your self to blame.
I'll send you a link, they're new and I gotta say they're really fuckin cool
https://www.amazon.com/EK-Archery-Automatic-Repeating-Crossbow/dp/B07ZQNWBDV
An Amazon link, first I saw. Cobra RX Adder from EK archery. Holds 5 bolts up top and they fall down into the slot when you shoot one off, like an upside down mag almost. Pretty neat :)
I'm not the person that made the original comment. I can say that I have experimented with raising flashlight and have successfully had it going for about 3 days without charging.

I just use a bit of clear red film or tape with a rubber band to act as a red lense.
Morgan doesn't even use a bow staff. While they have accidently replaced his stick a few times between shots the main stick he uses has been a walking staff made of cedar.
Here is the Amazon listing for his main staff.

You need a charge controller box (you may be able to work without one?) then connect it to a car battery to store the power. Once the power is stored use a power inverter box and you’re good to go.
Battery Tender 5-45W Automatic Solar Controller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Q820UK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_H23WRA4C0CP4YBHH6TPG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And

I have not done the research to see if those work together just wanted to show the additional equipment needed.
You want to connect the solar panels to the solar controller then the controller to the battery. The battery then connects to the inverter which can then be used to power what ever you like. As for doing a whole building my knowledge on solar doesn’t expand that far.
Crossbow's good enough, provided you're using it on single zombies and not a crowd other wise you're going to need some kind of tricked out Joerg Spave Repeating action "Let me show you it's features!" kind of deal. You could make something like that, but it would take a lot of engineering.
https://www.amazon.com/Ace-Martial-Arts-Supply-Tactical/dp/B079Y8L198
Something like that could work too, though it's very short range (I think the tests I saw were about 15 yards) it's got just enough punch to work at close range.
Tennis Racket: You could use it to knock them down I guess? Maybe serve grenades into mobs? That'd be awesome if you could pull it off but you'd have to be a hell of a Tennis player with light as heck explosives. A Lacrosse stick would probably work better for that sort of shenanigans. Better than your hands but not by much, nearly anything would be better.
Pool thing? If that's supposed to be a man catcher it could be handy in a group, Loop a zed, hold him in position while another member of your team brains him, definitely not a solo weapon, very situational.
Most swords including katanas are being made from the same 5160, 9260, 6150, 1045, 1060, 1095, T10, L6, etc steels. All depending on the maker, manufacturer, or the intention for the swords usage.
If Michonnes sword is made from one of the steels listed or a traditional folded steel it might be okay. If the swords also had good hardening or tempering, and was well fitted then sure a katana might be a fine weapon just like most other swords when it comes to beheading a zombie.
The issue is Michonnes sword despite a lot of speculation was revealed at one point to have been a off the shelf stainless steel sword from eBay. Meaning the sword is basically cheap mall ninja shit that will likely break with intense use. The official Michonne Walking Dead Katana:
https://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead-MC-WD001P-Officially-Leather-Wrapped/dp/B00I4CXRXI/
Is made from 1045 steel which is basically the lowest acceptable grade of steel for knife and sword use while claiming to be "high carbon steel." The sword is blunt just like the prop sword used on set, the handguard, grip, and most of the fitting are made from flexible zinc, and a cheap leather wrap for the grip. Despite this, the official fan sword is better quality than the katana used in the show.
Have you red Max Brooks zombie survival guide? I swear by it, it depends weather you are doing clean up or travel. 1-4 get the book of amazon or it might be an ebook

i hope that helps

he pretty much goes over everything
I love Where there is no doctor/dentist they are fantastic guides to have. With medical I would also recommend the SF Medical handbook, I'm not sure if they have a newer one for the public but I got this one from amazon. It's broken down to be very easy to read and understood, each disease or injury in there is broken down in SOAP format (Subjective findings, Objective findings, Assessment of the possible issue or what else it may be, and the plan of action to treat the issue. Anyone could pick this book up and flip to the chapter that best describes the injury or illness and then skim through the symptoms to find what is wrong then read the what the treatment plan is for it.
Surgical kits are tiny. Buy them now, rather than pilfer later.
Seriously, start by just getting on Amazon and buying this:
https://www.amazon.com/Practice-Students-Alcedo-Suturing-Demonstration/dp/B07PV14HWF
Then get a good book on medicine and go from there.
You can do all of this now, when people are not shooting at you.
I just found it on Amazon.
Depends on the size and weight specifications, mainly, as with other axes and hammers.
It’s an efficient design, and could certainly get the job done. But the typical pick axe is going to be very long, and the head will be very heavy. That’s overkill for killing zombies, which means that each swing is going to waste a lot of energy, and tire you out quickly. They’re also long, so they would be nearly impossible to use in close quarters, where most of your critical zombie fighting would occur.
So a smaller model, like this would probably get the job done well enough. As would something like a masonry or rock hammer, which are very similar. It would probably perform roughly equivalent to a hatchet of similar size and weight.

That’ll get the job done. Overbuilt, like most military gear, but bomb proof and cheap.
A zombie is essentially a walking, highly infectious, fatal disease.
Meanwhile, virtually every real life use of melee weapons in crime / self defense results in the perpetrator being covered in blood.
-->
Using Melee weapons against zombies is like cracking open a Pinatta full of AIDS infected blood.
This is discussed extensively in 'The Zombie Shooting Guide' - by far the most realistic Zombie defense book I ever read (use the Amazon 'read inside' function to get a peek)
https://www.amazon.com/Zombie-Shooting-Guide-Survival-Worst-Case/dp/0989594505
You don’t have to but I do. Sanitizing the containers minimizes the risk of germs or bad yeasts (which will change the flavor of the wine, usually for the worst). I use this sanitizer
If only just for cooking purposes, in a perfect world I would have already invested in solar power in my home, and/or stocked up on panels and a small or even portable setup. you can buy the necessary panels/converters/batteries for a relatively small amount of money and most laymen could set them up fairly easily. Then you have at least a small amount of electricity to power a single induction burner like this. So cooking could be covered if you're willing to drop the cash to prepare in advance. Heating in an apartment could be replaced by extra insulation, especially if you aren't alone in there and have already set up any sort of fortifications. and even if you had a small handheld solar charger for a phone, you could have a flashlight indefinitely. So most electricity issues could be covered with planning in advance.
As for water, it depends more heavily on where you are. I'm lucky enough to have a well, so I just need to install a hand pump when SHTF and I have virtually unlimited clean water. If you're not that lucky, I think the only way to get water other than scavenging is to set up rain catchment on the roof of your building and start doing a rain dance.
Thanks! I have a pretty stocked first aid kit in there, but with my shitty formatting its easy to miss stuff. This (in coyote) is the one I currently carry with me when camping and going out. It has disinfectant wipes but a medical alcohol would be helpful, and maybe a bottle of drinking alcohol... Just in case...
