That sucks. I would try asking if he wanted a break. Just because there is distance separating a couple doesn't mean giving up. If he isn't willing to work through one of the hardest weirdest times of our generation than he isn't worth it in my opinion.
My boyfriend works a lot but we both work from home and hang out the majority of the work day. Then game ALL evening together. Distance doesn't have to be hard. You can watch youtube videos together on https://www.watch2gether.com/ (which is what my bf and I are doing rn while we eat dinner.) there is also a netflix addon for chrome called Netflix Party. I would talk to him and suggest having a movie night or a game night or something.
