Yeah. I need a town square. Not sure how to make that one. Here's where I got the street from: https://www.amazon.com/Department-56-Accessories-Cobblestone-Accessory/dp/B003IPE41K/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=T16Q34J307VL&keywords=cobblestone+christmas+village&qid=1668092580&sprefix=conbles%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-5
It’s this pack https://www.amazon.com/wws-Dirt-Road-Roads-Sections/dp/B01NBKYP2D/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wargaming+dirt+road&qid=1621771971&sprefix=wargaming+dirt+ro&sr=8-3 and then I also got the similar back of more just straight roads
Today I am very suspicious of such News, but I cant see if it has been listed in Amazon already earlier.
However, there yo have it:
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Warlord-Games/dp/1472852680/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=bolt+action+campaign+soft+underbelly&qid=1617295616&sr=8-1
Personally I use this prior to spraying the undercoat, can't remember what YouTube channel it was that recommended it but it does the trick, I've only noticed when I was brush painting some desert buildings with a light cream that it took a couple of coats, but it's worked fine for greys etc.
Interesting to see what everyone else uses :)
Thanks! Just gotta get The tanks and Japanese too!
Tufts are The Army Painter jungle and swamp tufts. Bought them from thewarstore.com before he closed the store down (pour one out)
Found em on Amazon: The Army Painter Battlefields, XP - Jungle Tuft Terrain Model Kit for Miniature Bases and Dioramas - 77 Pcs, 3 Sizes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Q8J3K0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_w1uLEbKHJ68Q9

Well I started there first and let me tell you, there is not really an active, public community (people may be playing among their group of friends in their homes, who knows) in this area. I went to both comic book/"gaming" stores in the area and it is comics and Magic and that is pretty much it. Checked Meetup.com too and there's no group for any tabletop game in the area at all (there are gaming groups in general but not tabletop specific ones). There some active stores in towns about an hour away but I was hoping to find some people closer.
Much appreciated, and hope it’s a useful reference!
Note also, I used the book Fallen Giants to help depict a specific tank (#715-61). Was fun to try and match and modify the tanks details to reflect a specific machine!
Good thinking, will do!
Boxes like this one
I use pieces of Natural Slate Stone. If you can't find some locally, you can purchase it online: https://www.amazon.ca/War-World-Scenics-Natural-Slate/dp/B07NGKF463
I fill the gaps of the slate stones with larger grit sand. I leave the slate its natural colour, but I paint any sand a dark grey.
I then drybrush over both slate stone and the painted sand a lighter grey (Dawnstone Drybrush Paint by Citadel). Then I do another drybrush of an almost white-grey colour (Longbeard Grey Drybrush Paint by Citadel). Lastly I drybrush an off-white over the edges of the larger stones (Either Praxeti White Drybrush Paint or Wrack White Drybrush Paint by Citadel).

Well there are limits to how much you can bring in each platoon, but I'm not aware of any social custom regarding not bringing more tanks. Armor tends to be expensive points wise so you will find yourself being massively out-activated even in a casual game if you go armor/vehicle spam.
Personally I enjoy the normal Bolt Action rules but I much prefer Tank War. Tank War is a variant of Bolt Action that is specifically focused on armored platoons. If you are into armor feel out your local group about playing some tank war games.
I actually bought the Tank War book before I bought any of the other BA rule books myself.
I use Vallejo Brown Earth. It's reasonably priced, goes on easy, gives you plenty of time to work with before it dries, and it accepts shades very well.
I'm not the guy who will spend hours on a single infantry mini to get it perfect, but even if you are, this stuff is a great start. You can adhere tufts and/or rocks to it, you can shade and highlight it etc.
Or, if you're like me, put it on, spread it around, let it dry, then hit it with a shade and you are done. Also, if you want you can spread a little around on the model itself and get a nice dirt/mud effect.
It's cyanoacrylate glue if that means anything to you. The way it works is it chemically welds plastic or metal together, which I believe is different from cement.
You can find it at most stores with Revell-type model kits, like Hobby Lobby for one.
Just a camera phone of an edge 7 and a lightbox. This lb has nice space and adjustable lighting which helps alot.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TT78WFB?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1
By no means an expert and these are far from perfect as the uniforms are slightly more green In person.
Its trial and error with letting the right amount of light and the camera adjust to it. Also going through the camera and fiddling with all the options.
Resin and 3D printed resin are a little easier to use in my opinion. The pieces aren’t bad heavy so it’s not as likely that they’ll flop down while drying.
Try “zip kick” super glue accelerator. I don’t know what the name brand is, everyone I know just calls it zip kick.. It bonds superglue instantly. Don’t spray it though. You just need a drop.
For best results put superglue one one piece and the accelerator on the other. Carefully push them together and line them up correctly because the bond is truly instant.
I almost always pin metal models. I’ve never built these cannons so I can’t comment on whether you’ll need pinning.
Hobbytown USA always has the accelerator in stock. Their super glue is decent too, though I prefer Gorilla Glue.
This is what I use:
Bob Smith Industries BSI-151H Insta-Set Super Glue Accelerator,Clear, 2 fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0166FFCCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_XZAFTF3J7GBKVC7REKR0
IWILCS 200 Pieces Landscape Model Tree, Bamboo Trees Set, Plastic Coconut Palm Tree, for Model Railway, Architecture, Diorama, DIY Landscape
£17 but still more than you'll need....
I did the same as some people in this thread did.
Platic boxe, magnetic sheets for the bottom glued.
Then the same magnetic sheets cut with a scissors following a line done with a white marker around a base.
This works for infantry, artillery bases, etc.
The sheets I used : link. They are the same I used for some 40k drones and they work great.
Easy to make, easy for transport.
This set is my way to go. I used it on 15 vehicles as a base for a "Hinterhalt Tarnung". It's a colour modulation set.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00KACAQAC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_KNZBMB7H9S05XZ1H0H22
It's a german amazon link, but it's about the product!
Metal minis are just heavier so you need beefier magnets, I used 2x2mm wide ones and it was a faff but they adhere fine now.
Re. sticking to stuff, yeah what you want is a sheet like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Self-Adhesive-Magnetically-Receptive-Magnet-Shop/dp/B07TVD53KN
Ie. the sheet is ferrous impregnated rubber sheet, which you glue to the bottom of the box or whatever, and then you have magnets on the bases of your models and you're good to go.
YO I GOT YOU, buy some of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Magnet-Shop%C2%AE-Adhesive-Magnetic-Diameter/dp/B018464UCA
I use these on the bottom of the mdf discs I prefer for bases, and they work great for holding plastic minis onto metal sheets.
When it comes to metal minis I had to laboriously drill holes for neodymium magnets, which was a 'fun' evening.
I always find that the Vallejo themed paint sets are usually the best option. Plus you can get them off of Amazon. I found one that might be exactly what you are looking for.
Those are all by the company "Gamer's Grass". They're generally pretty good - those came out of the "Wildflowers Set". I got them on Amazon here. My earlier infantry posts have some other examples of their grass tufts (I was using a mix of Army Painter and Gamer's Grass for those).
Hi!
Just for you... I've updated
https://cults3d.com/es/modelo-3d/juegos/the-carentan-project-building-kit-accesories
with this model included.
Just let me know how it works for you!

I'll be adding different stylized version... so if you have any specific idea, just let me know and I'll try to build it.
Post war french assessment of the panther found that the final transmission broke down after 150km on average. That’s not reliable in comparison to m4s and t34s. Also repair time for the Panther were long and require specialist equipment and personnel
Edit: https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/chieftain/chieftains-hatch-french-panthers/
For a general introduction to the war, I recommend Tower of Skulls, by Richard B. Frank. It also covers the political shenanigans in the lead up. Not aimed at equipment, but a good introduction for the war.
I bought this big bag of 25mm bases and these magnets, and it works like a charm.
Plastic kit of US GIs with a command team and MMG. If you want a vehicle to go with it, either take a Sherman tank or maybe a halftrack if you feel like you don’t need the tank. This is pretty much the standard starter set Bolt Action US Army Starter Army 1:56 WWII Military Wargaming Plastic Model Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMB6GBL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_J1SWDYY5XJ16JK5JSP81
I can't help you on Polish/Soviet stuff, but for hobby tools:
-Paint brushes you can do perfectly fine by buying a <$10 set of brushes off Amazon. I've been painting for years and still use them alongside more expensive brushes.
-Buy some [Master's Brush Cleaner](https://www.amazon.com/General-Pencil-Company-Masters-Preserver/dp/B001TNR7VM). Use it after every painting session and I personally use it everytime I'm changing colors.
-Vallejo is a popular paint brand due to good quality and being in dropper bottles, but Citadel has served me perfectly fine 95% of the time if that's what you have access to. I know around here stores only sell Citadel paints and often times people refer to colors by Citadel names (Less so in historical circles). Just nab the paints needed for a remotely accurate looking uniform and vehicle. I bought a set from Warlord just for US Airborne paints so I imagine there's one for Soviets.
-Buy some nippers. Lord have mercy, buy some nippers. Don't twist the minis off the sprue with your fingers.
-Tamiya Extra Thin plastic cement is my glue of choice for PLASTIC miniatures. Use superglue on metal and resin.
-Consider some cheap files and an x-acto knife to cheap moldlines and leftover sprue on your models. It really goes a long way to making your miniatures look better.
The Army Painter Battlefield Essential Series: Summer Undergrowth Basing for Miniature Bases and Wargame Terrains - Static Grass and Shrubs for Bases of Miniature Toys, 150 ml, Light Green (BF4116) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QL9NJ68/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_F1J7PH72QJCQ4RKB25JZ I used a slightly more green version of this
I personally like this one.
All jokes aside. I like the look of the first one better.
So it wouldn’t be the end of the world but I wouldn’t sell yourself short. Check out Pete the Wargamer on YouTube and watch him paint some of the bolt action troops. He’s amazing. This isn’t to say your models will be as good as his, but his step by step instructions really help. Mine look 10 times better since I’ve followed his painting guides.
Check out these brushes. This is what I started with. Good set for only $10.
It all depends on who you’re playing with. I like bolt action because of the historical references and the game play. I like playing tables that took someone realistic. However, I wouldn’t pass up a game if someone had a solid painted army. It’s all personal preference.
Give painting a shot. Don’t forget to thin your paints. Take your time. Have fun.
You need to prime the model first (you should be doing this with plastic AND metal models)
You can get a cheap can of spray primer at your local hardware store. Be sure to get just a primer, and not a primer+paint combo can.
Like so,
You can buy patches everywhere for just about anything, although I'll admit I had to do a bit of searching to find good 11th Armoured ones. I got mine, then bought a velcro set with glue that sticks to fabric...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/VELCRO-Brand-Stick-Fabrics-Tape/dp/B017W7VF3Y
Then cut the velcro to fit the patches and bingo, hook and loop patches.
Fantastic reply. I'll mess around with this army builder.
I saw these two on Amazon Prime (as well as a few other pieces)
But I noticed that-as you said-they have time periods. So I've actually gotta do some research on what era I'd like.
Edit: This website is awesome. I just put in Hitler Youth and it tells me everything else I can take. Fantastic!
Edit2: Is it viable playing an army without tanks? I've never been into vehicles. I like infantry, all those faces looking into the grim war of the future.
I got it off amazon. I was going to get an official bolt action dice bag... but then I saw the price and decided this was fine lol here’s a link of ya want it
I bought 3 of these a couple of months ago. Scale is pretty much right on or close enough, and it compes with decals and headlight options to make them civilian, French Army, or German Army. Despite being a traditional model kit, there aren't too many parts and it goes together really well. Shipped from Japan so they can take a minute to arrive. I figure they'll be perfect for moving support squads or characters about the field.
I've been hoping to find 1/48th scale French trucks or city busses to use as transports, but I'm afraid I may have to resort to captured Opel Blitzes or something.
Edit: forgot the link - https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-Models-Citroen-11Cv-Staff/dp/B000AJ147O/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=citroen+11cv&qid=1555763909&s=gateway&sr=8-2
They're MASSIVE, but I have an AT gun and a howitzer in one of my armies that are based on these:
120 mm Round Figure Bases https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ISV596I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_LJxJGGOYzpJSS
It's a bit oversized for the howitzer but the AT gun definitely uses the space well, and has enough room to not feel crowded
I've been super happy with a game plus bag, you have to buy the foam trays separately. It uses pluck foam so you can make the exact shape you need for each mini.
https://www.amazon.com/Game-Plus-Products-Miniature-Black/dp/B01DWPY9HY
So far I've had luck with using squares I've cut from Adhesive Magnetized Sheets to hold plastic infantry to my metal-bottomed toolkit. I add a spot of white glue to help out the magnetic sheet adhesive.
sheets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SOV4NQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This made the rain lines really easy.
For the pointy bits you'll want a super small brush, obviously! Then don't load much paint, place the tip where you want the edge to be and draw back from there towards the bulk of the patch. Hopefully that makes sense.. :D
You can order it off of amazon or ebay, like at this link here:
It's also often called "Two part epoxy putty"
I will say, one thing I don't regret purchasing are these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IPE41K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm not sure they're any better than the Arm & Hammer stuff other than not needing paint, but they're this weird sort of slightly plastic feeling cloth that behaves very similarly to what you're describing. Of course, not really worth it compared to the amount/price value of the A&H stuff.
They are made by Pegasus. You can get them either painted or unpainted. I bought the painted and then flocked them to match my boards.
