I took a look, and similar to you I couldn't get the website to return anything for some random dates in June 2021 - so I took a look at regular flights to see what fare class they were selling in, and there are definitely flights available in the fare classes you need to use the companion pass for. Sometime the website can't handle certain itineraries and you have to do it with a phone agent (which isn't ideal right now since the waits are terrible).
Certain fare classes have to be available I or Z for First Class, W for Delta Comfort+, and L, U, T, X, or V for Main Cabin. You can do some pretty good searches for these using ITA Matrix, and I was able to find plenty of flights in June that have 2 passenger availability for those dates, so it may be worth calling to try to use it.
If you'd like to search on ITA Matrix on your own you can do so this way:
https://matrix.itasoftware.com/
Watch movies (in-flight entertainment is the only time I watch full length films), download before you board and then listen to podcasts or music, write in your journal, buy an adult coloring book, read a book, purchase in-flight wi-fi and go on reddit.
For a good nights rest, take melatonin, don't drink alcohol on board, consider if you want to buy a neck pillow or this contraption I kind of like. I like to have a scarf to cover my face, eye shades to block out any light, ear plugs (must-have!!!) for the flight noise... whatever it takes.
> Can someone tell me: there is nothing Delta can do for her, here? They can't bump her to whatever open seats exist on other upcoming flights!?
They can do this, or refund your money. It sounds like the reroute that the agent put together for her wasn't acceptable due to an extra segment and long layover; its tough but you have to understand that getting from the middle of nowhere, to the middle of nowhere might be difficult right now.
If she needs to get there tomorrow; book this 17h trip with united and alaska; and separately seek a refund from Delta.
> Once again, the entire reason she finally decided to buy a ticket was because the situation barely fell within her bounds of reasonable safety, and minimum exposure to crowds/public spaces.
It's entirely her choice but it certainly doesn't sound like she should be traveling; there are a myriad of things that could go wrong and land her in a hotel for a night, if that is truly an "unacceptable health risk for her" then she probably shouldn't be traveling from littlerock to fairbanks.
You will need a bluetooth transmitter like this one. Amazon has lots of options. The planes dont have integrated bluetooth yet.
How are you searching for flights? US-China has been fairly cheap for a while (400-600). You just need to be patient and flexible on days. Take a look at google flights. Here is an example search from lax to China that you can modify to look for cheap dates (https://www.google.com/flights#flt=LAX.r/m/0d05w3.2018-03-15*r/m/0d05w3.LAX.2018-03-22;c:USD;e:1;sd:1;t:e). Also, if you live near multiple airports try searching from all of them as costs will vary. Final advice, don’t look solely on Delta. You don’t travel often enough to be brand loyal (pick the best carrier offering what you want at a good price).
I have and use this one on Delta flights currently. Never had any issues.

You can also buy a tiny wifi router/extender such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Wireless-Travel-Router-TL-WR902AC/dp/B01N5RCZQH/
Connect your devices to this router and then on the router's setup page connect the router to the plane's wifi. The plane's wifi only sees one MAC (and one IP) address and all your devices can connect at once. Router can also be useful at hotels or other places because if your devices are already setup with the router you can just plug the router into Ethernet and be good to go. You can also find other models of travel router that are battery powered that can also charge your cell phone.
Usually I find the in-flight wifi to not be worth it and have enjoyed reading books on my kindle instead.
I like Powecom KN95 with head straps that provide a tighter seal if you have a medium size head. They’re also FDA authorized for emergency use, although I feel like I get a better seal with most N95s.
You can get 3M N95s off Amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008MCUZZS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_937XYRJ88Q8NAMN9NK2C
The 3Ms should provide a good seal on most face sizes. They’re not the world’s most comfortable masks, but should be fine for 4 hours or fewer.
I prefer the comfort of Moldex N95s, which my wife wears while flying in size small. They tend to go in and out of stock at retailers like QCSupply.com but are worth tracking down for longer flights.
Was there last month, I didn't specifically look at this bottles, but I didn't notice the hand wash had changed.

It's a bit of a pain, but you can use the ITA Matrix to search for flights by specific fare classes, which should help you narrow it down. If I recall correctly you would want to put "DL+ /f bc=l|bc=u|bc=t|bc=x|bc=v" under "Outbound routing codes" and "Return routing codes." This was really helpful as I was trying to use my companion certificate last year but kept running into the issue you're describing.
I used IAT Matrix https://matrix.itasoftware.com to plot a 6800 MQD run from JFK tomSEA and back for about $650. Combine the search there with Book With Matrix https://bookwithmatrix.com to put it together on one ticket (thanks to lifehacker for that website).
But the best bang for your buck if you need more than that is booking Premium Economy on Virgin Atlantic to Hong Kong or Shanghai which yields about 27K MQMs and 4000 MQDs from JFK. Spent a weekend doing that to bump to PM.
> but i also would like to know more about this comfort+, in that is it a domestic premium select? Despite it being listed as comfort+, might this seat include meal service? How are the seats themselves?
I can't speak for the meals but to summarize the PS product:
>Itd cost 19k points and is only available for my return flight, just wondering if its worth it over the 1.9k c+ upgrades from PHL to ATL? Or is 55.9k for the is the way to go?
Unless it's the redeye I won't upgrade to more than PS since it's only 5-ish hours between ATL and PDX. But that's just me, if you want to give D1 a try I don't blame you, it's a real nice product.
I'm with you, drives me insane. Although wishing the worst human atrocities on that human being runs through my brain, of course, I don't say a word. Hell, they probably don't even know that their repeated screen stabbings resonate so well through the seat.
Made me think though, I'm going to add a few of these pens to my travel bag to give to people next time this happens to me. Here's to hoping!

There is no definite size for gate checking. It's "the large ones" that get tagged by the gate agent guaranteed, duffels and backpacks are iffy depending on when you board and how much you've stuffed them.
The most popular rolling bags that will usually fit on -200s are the 1/2 sized bags. Something similar to this
I've been using the Samsonite Freeform Hardside when I need to check bags, and haven't had any issues with extended travel or use. Personally use the 24" one, but they have a 28" that is in your size range.
If you are looking for something extremely durable (especially if you are using it for heavier equipment and not just clothing), then I would go with Pelican. Their cases are built for durability, and it's while I don't have any personal ones - I use them at work all the time and they are built to last rough handling while keeping their contents safe and secure.

But the more I think about it, my airpods wont last an entire 5 or 6 hour flight. If I have to charge my airpods mid flight it doesn't seem like a very good idea after all.
My biggest gripe is that the Delta app doesn't have an "Add to Google Wallet/Pay" feature yet. United, Southwest, Alaska, even f-ing Avelo have it.
Really wish they would add it, as I sometimes get notifications about delays through Google Wallet faster, but I doubt it would happen. I get the sense they don't care about the Android app, and the reviews of it show.
These pants: G Gradual Women's Pants with Deep Pockets. They're the best travel pants ever. So comfortable, yet looks put together. White tennis shoes. If you're young, you can wear a cropped top and sweatshirt. I generally prefer a striped three quarter sleeve and sweater.
Given that Allegiant's app is better rated than Delta's, that might actually be an upgrade!
I've also had this problem, my solution is that I bought some 90° 1ft extension cords. I then feel fine about spreading the prongs outward just a little bit. The three prongs makes it sit more securely, the outward prongs push to keep it in a wee bit more securely, and the cord makes it so there isn't as much downward force on the plug.
I've had a number of time when people looked at me like I was genius for this. I even traded a cable for two drinks on one flight.
The one we have is similar to this. Obviously a baby item: https://www.amazon.com/EVER-ADVANCED-Collapsible-Adjustable-Removable/dp/B08FSK4D22/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=kids+wagons&qid=1657828037&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18630bbb-fcbb-42f8-9767-857e17e03685
100W max, I bought a power pack to charge / work on my laptop during flights over 3 hours. It will even charge my XPS 9570 under heavy power use.

I always use my galaxy wireless buds/sony wireless noise cancelling headphones on all of flights for the in-flight entertainment screen. This is the in-flight bluetooth adapter I use. Simply plug it in to any 3.5mm socket on a delta flight, and you're able to watch your shows, movies, etc. You can also have multiple devices connected to this so you're able to watch the same in-flight show/movie with your friend/seat mate.

Depends on the flight and the cabin. The first ones are usually the ones in the snack basket they pass around, the second ones are typically in the bistro boxes for purchase (or if you’re unlucky your meal in FC), and sometime have shown up in the basket as well.

I write a note in there basically just thank you for the service, we appreciate the flight crew, and know how hard the job can be.
I give it once we’re seated, with a Ferrero Rocher box (individual candies!) - usually to the first FA that comes by but mostly when it makes sense and isn’t super disruptive to service.
Literally every flight I’ve done this on the crew LOVES it and comes and talks to us over and over. I love making their day.
I recently ordered this adapter for AirPods but haven’t tried it yet as I’ve gone straight to sleep in my last few flights…maybe it works as a sleep talisman too
This is probably your best bet that early:
mini refillable alcohol bottles
As long as you don't need too many liquids for the trip, this can be your one ziploc bag. Each person could probably fit at least 3 in their carry-on. 3 shots and a few mimosas at the lounge should get you through those couple of hours before you board.
***I am in no way giving level advice or condoning this (possibly illegal) behavior. Just thinking about what someone with disregard for ridiculous laws/rules might do.
I recently started flying with the Bange 35 L Travel Back and really love it. It's got an expandable middle section that open up like a carry-on that's perfect for clothing, and then has a laptop compartment, and a standard front pocket for charges, etc... It's perfect the perfect weekend bag for me - and then when I don't need the luggage space I can just leave the middle section closed up for a smaller bag.
Amazon's Basics Slim Laptop Overnight Backpack is listed as Temporarily Out of Stock, but I'll link it here because it is the best designed pack I've seen and has a lot of features to search for. The back padding is superb which makes it comfortable for hours. It doesn't look sexy, especially with the Amazon logo on the outside, but then you open all those compartments and you're impressed. Its very compact but can expand to swallow packing cubes, electronics, books, wine bottles, etc. There's small fleece-lined pockets on top to throw sunglasses or keys. There's grab handles on both the top and sides. I could go on for a while. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079L8JS1G
I love my Away bag (Bigger Carry-On). Got it when they had a 50% off sale in 2020. Investing in that bag has also made me pack lighter/go carry-on only because I still paid a good amount (was like $140 after the sale) so damn it, I was going to use it! I opted for one without a battery pack, as I already had one and I can use that extra space for a little more clothing.
I've used this backpack since grad school, and honestly still looks brand new. It comes in handy for one-night/day trips as well, and the laptop pocket is behind the straps, so you don't feel like you'll tip over when fully loaded. I've taken it on almost every trip, and even when it's heavy it doesn't feel like that big of a burden. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a holder to place on your roller bag, but didn't matter at the time, but now that I have a 4-wheel bag it would be nice.
It would also be nice to just be able to do stuff online or on the app instead of having to call. Especially when Schedule Shift Saturday hits, we should be able to modify our flights online if the new times don't work for us. Been able to do that with Southwest and American, but the "Change Flight" feature online/on the app is no longer an option when schedules change with DL.
Heck, would also be great to just apply RUCs/GUCs online instead of having to call when space is available.
Like flying them, but Delta may be one of the worst large US airlines when it comes to tech. Probably why their app is the worst rated among the 4 largest US airlines too.
This is what I use to keep the loops off of my ears. I had otoplasty surgery as a teenager and have very sensitive ears. MIAODAM Adjustable Mask Extender... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0874Q4J3Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I usually start with a Google flights search. It only shows cash fares - but since Delta went to dynamic pricing the cash fares give some proximate indication of where award flights are cheap (but not by any means exact). You can leave the destination blank, and then on the map page click on the dates and change it to flexible and choose SkyTeam from the Airlines filter and can, for example, see all SkyTeam flight options for a 2-week trip over the next six month.
Once I have an area and dates narrowed down then I switch to Delta's site and use the flexible dates search to narrow down which days have the best values for my miles. If you want to do an open jaw trip (for example JFK > AMS, CDG > JFK) where you make your way between the two on your own, then do two round trip searches and try to narrow down a set of dates that have low redemption on both routes before moving to the multi-city search.
Unfortunately searches for miles can be pretty labor intensive to find the best deals.
You can use this unofficial award chart to gauge how good of a deal you are getting (prices are one-way): https://awardwallet.com/blog/unofficial-delta-skymiles-award-chart-flights-us/
These are the prices I’m seeing https://snipboard.io/2SnMFG.jpg u need all the bells and whistles of main cabin instead of dirt cheap? I have kids so I definitely do, but hell saving $1k if it’s just me and my wife I’d pack her ass in the suitcase and roll it onboard and into the overhead lol
Some interesting Amazon suggestions on the product page. I don't think I'd try using one of [https://www.amazon.com/Soarigami-Airplane-Portable-Armrest-Extender/dp/B0725KDSW2](these) but I'd love to have a bucket of popcorn and watch when someone did.
I always just get a little case of chocolate for them. I’ve got a flight tomorrow and stopped by the store for a pack of Ferrari Rocher . It’s good, and they are individually wrapped so they don’t have to worry about sharing unwrapped candies with other flight attendants.
Corgi is 24lbs. This is the bag we've used no problem on several fights. I got an XL. She can fully turn around in it closed. Let me know what other questions you have!
Have you tried the wristbands? I don’t personally get motion sick on airplanes, but they seem to work for my wife even though I really thought they were only for sea sickness. Hi - checking back in after completing round trip on a new Airbus 220 with my pet carrier: Petsfit backpack There was room under the seat for my carrier but it didn’t slide in as neatly as it does on other models (Embraer 170-175, Airbus 330). I had no issues with either gate check in or the flight attendants checking the cabin, even though the phone agent told me the max height can only be 6”. The actual height under seat is larger for sure. I did tell the phone agent that she should enter information that complied with their max dimensions in order to get the reservation, and that I would take the risk if it didn’t fit.
This one even has delta branding:
https://www.chewy.com/sherpa-delta-airline-approved-dog-cat/dp/130202
That said: they will ask for your carrier dimensions. You must look up the dimensions for the plane you are flying and give them dimensions one inch smaller than each of those.
Yes, you have to lie.
The linked pet carrier will fit your pet comfortably, but the way the system is structured you need to lie to get them to accept the carrier they themselves have approved.
This is the only way I have heard or anyone successfully and safely traveling with a pet

Delta is partners with several Chinese Airlines, JAL, and Korean Air. Unless you specifically care about flying on Delta metal, you can get pretty much anywhere in the APJ region while earning Delta MQMs and skymiles as long as you book with your Delta FF number.
Google flights is a great tool for this. Filter by airline and choose 'Sky team':
My assumption is that you are looking to fly on a Skyteam airline -- if not, none of the below will apply for you.

For your first question, I'd check the charts on this page. You'll need to know the fare code for the ticket on the other airline. If that fare code isn't listed on DL's website, you won't get any MQMs/MQDs. But yes, when I buy a ticket on Air France, for example, I give them my Skymiles number, and I'm credited MQMs etc. based on that chart. MQDs earned are minimal on most of the tickets on partner flights, sometimes like 10% of the actual amount paid. (I don't mess with MQDs as I have an overseas address). If you buy the ticket through Delta, using codeshare flights, you'd get your normal MQMs/MQDs, but those tickets can sometimes be more expensive.

For the second question, usually the best you can hope for is lounge access, more checked bags, and Sky Priority boarding. This should be the case on all Skyteam airlines. You might have some priority if there are operational upgrades (meaning coach is oversold, so they move their elites up to premium economy or business), but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You could also just buy Delta flights to Manila too, they fly there through Tokyo's Narita airport 7 days a week...
I can't specifically comment on your airports but I have found google flights to be the most helpful, but if someone has alternative tools I would love to know too!

I choose "Explore destinations" - right hand side above the map - put in my departure airport, under airlines I choose Skyteam, and then explore!

You should consider flying out of Chicago (even buying cheap tickets from MSP there/back). There are substantially better deals out of there vs. MSP: Here are a few for a weekend trip to Europe in December
I’ve always been a big Tumi fan because they have always fixed my luggage. However, we bought a burner carry on from Amazon Basics and it’s held it’s own for awhile now.
If you want a cheap solution to try out, especially if you’re going to buy new yearly, try these first. Ours had lasted 20+ trips (carry-on) and still works great!

It's a bit of a pain, but you can use the ITA Matrix to search for flights by specific fare classes, which should help you narrow it down. If I recall correctly you would want to put "DL+ /f bc=l|bc=u|bc=t|bc=x|bc=v" under "Outbound routing codes" and "Return routing codes."
If you can handle the learned curve, the ITA matrix is the way to go. But if you're gonna use google, just add some checked bags. That'll filter out basic econ usually.
So I have both the Delta Amex Reserve and the regular Amex Platinum. I had the Platinum for significantly longer and generally it's the better card in terms of earning points (you get 5x Amex points with flights; the Reserve gives you 3x for flights - you can transfer points from Amex to Delta at a 1:1 ratio, so the Platinum is unquestionably better for earnings). I ended up getting the Reserve for an end of year boost to get me to Platinum with Delta. The Reserve gives a companion pass for up to domestic first class (may or may not be relevant), plus it also helps you win tiebreakers for upgrades when you're tied for fare class and status level. This may be super anecdotal but I think it helped me with upgrades significantly. Both cards will provide you lounge access (once you have it, you'll never want to be without lol). Look up the full benefits of both cards and make your call that way, but if you're traveling that much for work it's almost certainly worth getting one of them. Amex Platinum also gives you Centurion lounge access and Priority Pass lounge access, but depending on where you travel those might not matter to you.
Always book directly with hotels and airlines for 3 reasons: 1) if you have a problem, you'll have an easier time getting help. 2) if you're looking for points, hotels.com usually doesn't let you earn with the hotel program. 3) you won't earn status using hotels.com or other 3rd party sites.
If you book directly with airlines, you'll get more points booking airfare with the Amex Platinum card (5x) than with any of the Delta cards (max of 3x). You also get access to Delta Skyclubs when flying Delta & Centurion Lounges when flying with anyone. It also gives 5x on hotels booked through the Amex portal.
Even if you don't purchase directly, the Amex Green card will give you 3x on almost all travel expenditures (flights, but also hotels & rental cars even booked through sites like hotels.com). It also gives 3x at restaurants.
We bought this as a burner bag and has been excellent and held up great.

Anything under listed as under 22” in the title will fit for US, however if you fly on any regional jets during your flight they may have to gate “pink tag”your luggage. Basically some planes have no space for roller bags and you drop it off/pick it up on the jet-bridge.
Internationally some European airlines require your bag be as small as 18” to carry it on, so 22” will cause issues in Europe.
I would recommend this bag from Amazon as it has held up as well as our Tumi luggage we use in our household.
I called them when I first booked the flight and they said it would fit but since then my plane has changed, so I've been getting more worried its to big. If it helps heres the link to the carrier I use. I could always buy a smaller one but if I could I wanted to use the one I already have.

This is to connect an old school iPod to the screen and stream video. It’s disabled (probably never was enabled). There is a cable that you got that had the original iPod/iPhone connector on one end and this specific connector on the other. The only airline that I know that actually enabled it was pre-merger UA on their first generation layflat seats. I had one and used it often to stream movies that I ripped from Netflix DVDs on international flights.

All of my searches for that specific kind of 9 pin keep coming back to Bose products. Not sure if that specific cable type is more widely adopted internationally, or if it was built when it was thought that it would become the audio standard over 1/8” headphone plugs.
Huge fan of my travelpro spinner. Big enough to pack for a week, small enough to fit on the smallest regional jets. ~200,000 miles and ~5 years on it so far without a single problem.

Up until a couple months ago, my go-to carry-on was a 50L OutdoorMaster which I got crazy cheap on Amazon. Basically a knockoff Osprey at something like 1/5 the price.
Earlier this year, I started traveling more and I splurged and upgraded to a Tumi Alpha Bravo Lark which is amazing.
On the very rare occasion that I need to check a bag (#TeamCarryonOnly) I have a pretty big no-name hard-sided suitcase I snagged at Ross for like, $40.
You should be fine with that one. The one I have isn't on Amazon anymore (the product link leads to an error page), but I just measured it, and it's 17.5" L by 11" H by 10" W, so the linear size is identical to the one you linked. I have been considering a backpack-style carrier like this one, but so long as it's ventilated, allows your dog to turn around, and fits under the seat, the final decision just comes down to personal preference.
I got it as a gift. Super nerdy and super awesome! They are for sale on Amazon and even cheaper at [Walmart}(https://www.walmart.com/ip/SKR8803-SKYMARKS-DELTA-A350-1-100-W-WOOD-STAND-GEAR/997393196). I also have a smaller "Spirit of Seattle" which fits on a cabinet. This one is HUGE! It is 27" x 27" x 15" high.
I had this large-ish 32L backpack absolutely stuffed and it fit fine. It was in Comfort + on the 777-200, but besides the row spacing, I think the under seat area was the same for main cabin.

If you are abroad and go to watch whatever channels you watch online... they may not work!
Download a VPN to fool the provider that you are actually inside the USA. I use NordVPN.
Handy if you are behind the Great Firewall of China and want your GMail.
I recommend and use this one as a carry on
Pair it with some of these and you can fit a weeks worth of clothing in your bag.
