I feel you so much. I also have pain during penetration and it killed my sex life until I consulted a sexologist. She made me realize that penetration is not necessary to have sex. It's totally possible to have sex without you being in pain. There are no rules for sex, you do what makes you feel good. Who says you have to be penetrated? Who says you have to have an orgasm? You should not force yourself to do things that hurt you just because they are "supposed" to feel good. Asking myself those questions changed my perspective on sex and I am now able to have sex without any pain. This book helped me a LOT on revisiting the definition of sex in my head to redefine MY version of what sex is, a version that does not hurt me. I hope you can find yours!
Don’t waste your money! You can literally buy a TENS unit for $30 on Amazon instead of wasting over $100 on the “cute” version livia is marketing up the wazoo commercially preying on women in pain!
This is the tens I have and it’s great: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NCRE4GO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_mUfcAbGPT84CF
I bought regular heating pad from Amazon as well and it works wonders too! I wonder if infrared makes a bigger difference? This is the one I bought regular shmegular heating pad
Oh wow...yea I don't think I've heard anyone who is fine after just one week??!! I would definitely believe that being on your feet all day could be contributing to the pain!
A lot of PTs offer like early morning or evening hours to accommodate! Worth looking into I think. Some hospitals also have a pelvic PT that might have different hours as well.
If your surgeon has any on-staff nurses or nurses who work with him they might be a good resource if he is tough to communicate with. I actually had most of my communication with my surgeon's nursing staff rather than him! Other than that, your regular gyn (if not your surgeon) may also be able to get you in for a check-up or a phone call to help get another opinion on your recovery.
One thing that was recommended to me that helped with pain with walking for the first few months was actually a girdle (as odd as it was haha). The extra abdominal support was really nice and helped me get around without as much pain. Idk if links are allowed, but here's the one that I used! (Didn't need the tube holder but this was easy to cut to the perfect size)
I usually get yeast infections around my period that cause the same symptoms you have. For me and most women I know, boric acid suppositories works better than anything else in treating it quickly. It’s safe to use every day too which is nice. I usually find that one dose is enough to rebalance my pH if I catch the infection early. If it’s a severe yeast or bacterial infection, a few doses of boric acid clears it up for me.
The texture is very grainy once the capsule dissolves. You won’t be able to feel it, but if you’re having penetrative sex with someone who has a penis, the inside of your vagina will feel like sandpaper to them. Luckily it dissolves in a few hours, so I recommend putting it in at night before sleeping, unless you like morning sex.
This is the one I use. I’ve tried other brands but this one has the best dissolving capsule imo:
NutraBlast Boric Acid Vaginal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B3WG26H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They are these amazing little devices that you can buy on Amazon or even Walmart I believe. They connect to a little device that has cords with these sticky gel pads. You place the gel pads anywhere you have pan and they release very small amounts of electric “zaps” that force your muscles to relax. It does not hurt and has helped many women with their pain. You can get one here
You should definitely pick up a copy of The Endometriosis Health & Diet Program by Dr. Andrew Cook and Danielle Cook. It has tons of info about supplements, herbs, amino acids, etc that are helpful for treating endo. I also really liked pelvic floor physical therapy, acupuncture, tranexamic acid, and an anti-inflammatory diet, but I'm adding in supplements recommended in this book.
Not a problem! It’s a sunbeam XL King Size UltraHeat 3 settings. Sunbeam Heating Pad for Pain Relief | XL King Size UltraHeat, 3 Heat Settings with Moist Heat | Light Blue, 12-Inch x 24-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FGDDI0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9YW2671X61PFEE98QNZA
You can put it on your abdomen, but not pubic or mucosal membranes. IT WILL STING!
I tried a brand off amazon and a brand from whole foods lite flo pure magnesium oil The one from whole foods is more concentrated. I spray it on wherever it hurts, leave it for a couple minutes and then wipe off the residue. It leaves my muscles nice and relaxed for the entire day, unless I’m feeling particularly stressed.
I'd be skeptical about that decision to leave the endo on your diaphragm! But that's not your question haha for tens units, I tried Ovira but found it made me feel more achy and tender. I know some people love it, but it wasn't for me.
I have a portable electric heat pad belt that I loveeee! Its super thin and fits under my clothes and the battery life is pretty decent. This is the one I have.
Cycle charting has helped me predict and prevent flares as well as better support my body and cycle. I also have many herbs that I use-- some daily, some as needed. Crampbark is my favorite for pain!
I am almost 2 weeks after my lap. I have been taking a natural supplement that for my other healing wound ( I split a whole hot pad of boiling water on my self and had burns that i have been putting the salve version of on - they are almost non visible they cover a med portion of my arm and chest though.) I haven’t seen under my glue to see the stitches or scar from the lap. I have been taking this supplement since day 4 and stopped all the pain meds (they all make me super sick) and have been managing my pain and healing my body with it. I haven’t been completely pain free - but that does make sense. I feel really good considering. I had a random bruise that is now healed and gone (I usually take a while to heal) and have had my nails coming in stronger too lol
All in all to say this has been my go to for healing all types of ailments and surface and deep tissue healing. Its called Doctor Christopher’s complete tissue and bone. I take the capsules and use the topical one too!! Please grab one for yourself and try. Natural supplements for the win!! I have been consistently taking them in doses every couple hours - listen to your body. Amazon
What about high waisted, flowy palazzo pants like these? I have some similar to those and was able to wear them a couple weeks after my lap last month. The band is higher than my highest incision and doesn't cause much pressure, anyway.
I don't remember exactly what I wore after my surgery, but I did hear the hospital gives these mesh underwear types:; https://www.amazon.com/Postpartum-Underwear-Breathable-Post-surgery-C-Section/dp/B09LTTTFCM/
I think i just wore my regular underwear really low below the hip bone and it worked while there was bleeding/period. Once it stopped i avoided wearing it as much as possible! All the best to you!
I use this one! My husband got it for me and I keep it in my car when I'm running around all day and I can re charge it, there are plenty of different versions on amazon so feel free to explore!

I asked the hospital to give me mesh underwear and those were GREAT for the first few days. Then I switched to this maternity underwear that goes low, which was great to avoid the incisions: https://www.amazon.com/Intimate-Portal-Maternity-Pregnancy-Postpartum/dp/B08C9V2VZG
Start stool softener at least 3 days before surgery, unless you have to do bowel prep. Gentle stool softener like Miralax takes 3 days to work.
Ice packs for my belly were super helpful!!
Over-the-counter meds like naproxen, acetaminophen, ibuprofen (whatever your surgeon suggests)
Gas-X
Pads
Large/loose underwear or maternity underwear that goes low under your incisions. Ask the hospital for mesh underwear!
I collected my usual anti-nausea remedies and asked the hospital for a scopolamine patch to wear during surgery plus an anti-nausea prescription to take home.
A travel neck pillow might be helpful for sleeping upright. I just stacked up pillows so I could kind of cock my head to the side. I had a hard time sleeping on my side for the first few days, but thankfully I was so tired I was able to fall asleep in a less-than-ideal upright-ish position.
Thank you!! Same to you! Also just thought of if you haven’t tried these tummy drops yet on Amazon they really help before/after meals and taste like candy. amazon Natural peppermint tummy drops
Have you tried a hot bath/ a swim?
I use this it warms me up around my core and is a lot more practical than a hot water bottle.
I'd also recommend speaking with your HR department (if you have one) occupational health could make some recommendations as to what support you need.
Sorry to hear what you're going through, that sounds really tough. Here to chat if you ever need someone, sometimes it helps to have someone that will listen.
Not sure where you live but in the UK employers must provide a toilet if workers are on site, so it's worth checking health and safety regulations for where you live.
For me, I have a combination of cocodamol/ diclofenac provided by the GP but it doesn't completely remove the pain and I try not to take them often as I don't want them to become less effective. Maybe you could try a different Dr? Although I agree about the addictive drugs, especially if you have pain that isn't going anywhere because you'll need to take it more and that's a dark path.
I don't know but from the stories I've read, it feels like different remedies, work for different people.
The best thing I've found for managing the pain is the pool. At my gym they have the pool a bit cooler than most and then a really powerful jacuzzi pool which is a bit hotter than most and I swear, before I started going I had gotten to painkillers every day, now that I go there everyday (bar periods) I take painkillers less than once a month. I know someone else who says for her a hot bath is the best thing. I also like lifting weights, for me it helps with my resilience.
I've been reading lately that pelvic floor exercises are good and these can help with pain during sex too, so thats also something to look into potentially.
Whatever you do, know that there are people about to listen if you need.
I use this product too its warms up when it's on you and feels like you're covered by a hot water bottle around you're entire core.
I’m not sure if there’s anyway to rid the pain completely. Every solution out there so far is just a patch/band-aid even hysterectomy.I normally experience pain on a daily basis but with lo lo so far it’s mainly back pain that gives me a hard time. I’ve been using 2 in 1 Postpartum Support... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07X8F3PBL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share for helping with back pain and it’s been good. If you drive and find yourself in pain whilst driving invest in a seat cushion, it’s totally a game changer in terms of avoiding sciatic pain
this one is the closest to mine, i can't find my exact blanket tho as it was a gift to me a couple of years ago :( but i have a twin size and it's perfect. highly recommend investing even if they are a little on the pricey side.
I know these are ugly as hell, but honestly? You want comfort? Get these. I actually got a couple pairs of these after having a surgery unrelated to endo. They were absolutely necessary in the beginning but then I loved them so much I went and bought more. They’re very cheap but comfy, stretchy and super breathable. They’re not sexy or anything but I swear these are the best things I’ve ever had.

Thank you! Do you find that the strength is sufficient? I have never used one so I don't really know what to expect.
I was looking into this one at first since it says that it also provides heat, but I was hesitant since it looks gimik-y and overpriced tbh. It says that it auto-stops after 20 minutes. So i would basically have to turn it on again every 20 minute lmao.
I get really bad cramps- to the point where I can’t stand up straight and am chronically nauseous and the only relief I find is from a combination of heat and a TENS machine( link below). When I have to go somewhere, I tuck my tens under my clothes and carry around a portable hand warmer (link below). While the handwarmer is too bulky to tuck under clothes, I will put it on the medium or highest setting and then put it in a fuzzy sock and just walk around placing it where I need during the day. It’s not the most discreet option but very reliable (long battery) and effective. Hope you find some relief!!

Probably an hour or so? But I find even lukewarm the pressure is nice :)

There are probably nicer ones on Amazon so have a look around! My nurse showed me that you want to make sure it’s placed enough below your rib cages that your diaphragm has room to expand. Kind of hard to describe in words.
I totally get that about the pillow and the cat! My cat has walked across my belly a couple times and it is not fun lol.
I bought myself one for Christmas, life changing!

I love mine paid 30 for it on Amazon have had it for 4 years still using the same batteries and I forget to turn it off. It feels like current. Like being shocked but not so painful. It does help wit the pain honestly sadly you can’t have it on non stop 24 hours a day. The cables are cumbersome sometimes I wake up wrapped in them with the sticky pads stuck to weird parts of my body or bed lol. Before my surgery in which they found a giant mass I had no pain meds nothing bc of COVID and having no doctor. TMI but I stuck those pads almost internally and I would sleep for 60 -90 min intervals, the max amount if time of the tens, the unit saved me. I am youngish 37 and my body is like 100 so I have back and tail bone pain and shoulder issues lol I use the tens for all of those aches and muscle aches and it helps. Obviously not a cure but has been so beneficial. I bought a smaller one and it didn’t last.
This is the one I have

this is the one I got as a gift at Christmas. so I haven't had it a very long but so far I haven't had any issues with it! I think this brand also makes an XL size too.
I've been using mama cloths (other name for reusable pads) for five years. I'm sensitive to latex and the normal pads irritate me. My favorite ones have looked like this style 4 Bamboo Mama Cloth/Menstrual Pads/Reusable & Water Proof Sanitary Pads/Panty Liners - Prints (Starburst) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SWLBUSA/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_FQCA87DKKXP98AS5CZJA.
First of all, I want to agree with other people here that asking is a wonderful way of showing support. Both asking here and talking to her. What she needs/wants will vary based on her and what they find in surgery. I had excision with a lot of adhesions, a polyp and endometriomas. I lived in these sleep shirts from Amazon. They were the only thing that didn’t hurt the incisions and make the bloating feel worse.
Ekouaer Women's Nightgown Sleeveless Sleepwear Wide Strap Sleep Shirt Pleated Scoopneck Nightshirt S-XXL https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SJ7HYV2/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_a_ZWSQXECANCNVYZE9QVWV
I also needed a long body pillow once I could sleep not on my back I needed it between my legs and to hug it to take pressure off my incisions.
I needed help walking to and from the bathroom/standing up. I’m abroad and had different restrictions than people in the US and UK and had to stay in the hospital for three days but once home couldn’t shower for 10 days. He helped me have my “sink showers” by helping me wash my hair in the kitchen sink because of the height and bending. He also washed my lower legs and feet which I couldn’t bend to do at first. I had food restrictions for a few days so he brought me broth and “soft solids.” He let me sleep and watched stupid tv with me that it didn’t matter if I fell asleep during. Have a chat with her and just by you asking I think you’ll do well.
Additionally, the sex piece can be hard even long term. Communicating and showing and expressing love in many ways and being patient is important. Finding ways to meet both of your needs is important too. Good luck!
Not nonstop, but crazy heavy. I use a menstrual disc in combination with overnight pads…when my body will let me. Sometimes it’s too painful to insert anything but the disc is my favorite thing when I can tolerate it: holds way more than a tampon, and easier to use than a menstrual cup. Supposedly you can go 8 hours between emptying it, but for me it’s 3-5 hours on a heavy day, which is still absolutely amazing. I’ll bleed through a super tampon and a thick pad in 1-2 hours.
Also these incontinence bed pads are absolutely amazing for sleeping on. I have 4 in rotation - keep one on my bed and one on my recliner. Gorilla grip leak proof washable bed pad
Beyond that I’d say talk to your doctor - prolonged heavy bleeding isn’t good for you. I needed an iron infusion earlier this year, and take vitamins. It’s likely your iron may be low too, which does NOT help the fatigue. Definitely something to check.
I used to use these reuseable gel heat packs that warmed up by clicking a little metal button. Super portable, no outlet needed and they were discreet under clothing. Haven’t used this specific one before, but just for reference https://www.amazon.ca/Hot-Go-Reusable-Heat-Packs/dp/B016OA5YK0/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?crid=3NOQYC0XY1X74&keywords=heat+pack+click&qid=1638867012&sprefix=heat+pack+click%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-11
Crap, it says it's not available. This looks like the same thing.

Highly recommend. It gets nice and hot and you can wear it anywhere. It’s thin and super discreet. You just wrap it around your lower abdomen under your clothes and it works very well
I love my traditional hot water bottle. I am frequently sitting at a desk or in meetings for work, so I can tuck it in under my shirt and it works out fine – I’m not sure if that would be possible for her with her lifestyle/job. Here’s an Amazon link to one that can be filled with water and then microwaved.

It’s a good buy!
Paper bag shorts! I’ve been wearing these from amazon for like three years.
They’re super high waisted and stretchy. I can even sleep in them. Plus the pockets are giant.
Otherwise i wear a ton of high waisted skirts or dresses.
Once in a blue moon, i can get in my stretchy jeans. Most of the time, I can’t even stand leggings.
I have an awful uniform for work that requires I wear pants and a belt. I’ve been wearing those fake belts at work that clip onto your belt loops and don’t actually go across your stomach. I think it’s helping.
I feel you.
I use a menstrual disc (easier but messier than a menstrual cup, with organic overnight pads. They’re more expensive but I don’t get rashy because they’re typically soft and haven’t got as many chemicals.
For sitting or sleeping, I bought special bads made for bed wetting. They’re fabulous because you can change them out without changing the sheets and are more comfortable/useful than a towel. Machine Washable 36x32 Mattress Incontinence Bed Pads
These kind of pants also are amazing (make sure it's modal fabric around the waist =no pressure, thin and very soft coverage, but it holds up nicely)
I actually bought maternity clothes. They have V-wrapv-wrap underwear and leggings and such, and they basically don't have any kind of tension the lower belly area. Im 13 days post op and i wore them before and after. They have pants and stuff that look totally non-maternal so have a look around. Usually says "V" or "T wrap waist".
I normally only have it around my period like you, but I had surgery a week ago and have been having ever since. Don’t know if it’s mega stiffness from surgery or endo, or if my period is incoming (they say the first period after a lap is more painful). The only thing that helps me and has ever helped with back pain is stretching and massage. I have a little wooden knob looking thing for self massage that I got on Amazon and I put it on the floor and wiggle my lower back around on it. Have to be mindful with it, it can really dig into your back. I promise I’m not an advertiser for Amazon or something lol, but I thought I’d share it with you in case it helps you: https://www.amazon.com/Original-Knobble-Ergonomic-Reflexology-Myofascial/dp/B00120ZMJG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wooden+massage+knob&qid=1632327553&sr=8-3
Add a hair mask to your routine. You could start out at once a week. Argan oil and coconut oil is good for frizzy curly hair. I like this mask a lot as well and use it when I wash my hair which is about twice a week. hair mask
I recently got this heating pad. The slight additional weight is nice but I mostly love that it has a wider range of heat options (1- 9) and that I can set it to auto turn off after 30 minutes to 9 hours rather than the standard automatic shut off at two hours. I find that I usually don’t need to turn it all the way up to 9. Usually as low as 4 or as high as 7 is enough. Highly recommend!
I use heating pads on my period but ice packs all other times of the month. For me, they helped so much more then the heat does. In my mind, heat helps with muscle, cool helps with nerves.
My heating pad is on a two two hour timer and gets HOT. It’s fabric so I don’t get burned like I have with plastic heating sources.
I use this one, and the highest setting gets REAL HOT and stays hot for 2 hours before auto-shutting off. It's also nice because it's longer so you can kind of wrap it around your front of your back. I often just turn it into the warm setting and have it on my lap in the colder months and it's incredibly comforting. I hope this helps!
Some random things to consider: -Over the belly maternity pants (very stretchy and comfy). Def could hold a heating pad in place. -Prune juice. Worked better for me than otc medications when I hadn't pooped in 4 days. (If it's super bad chase it with some apple juice, just be real close to a toilet). Also drink LOTS of water the first few days, it'll help too. -Ensure shakes. No preparation required, easy food. (And yummy!) -These underwear: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0862922Y2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_K3Q0MR8MHQ1JWQ31AY8N?psc=1 -Gas-x or similar is a MUST. (Also walking a little the first few days helps work a lot of the gas out) -Neck pillow for couch/chair snoozing. Don't want a crick in your neck on top of everything else going on. -Face cleaning wipes so you don't have to bend over a sink to wash your face. -If either of you will not have 24/7 support the first week (or two) get some grabbers. They are life saving! https://www.walmart.com/ip/CQ-Wellness-Pick-Up-Grabber-Reaching-Tool-32-Inch-1-Pack/831773729?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222228314394698&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=392349490217&wl4=pla-831652649721&...
Wishing both of you congratulations, the best of luck, and speedy recoveries.
After doing a little research on my own 10 years ago after my diagnosing lap left me in more pain I tried out "The Candida Cure" book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0977344614/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GFD3Y1W3FPREYX6JC3ZE I wasn't so much into the supplements they push on you in the book, but I followed the diet plan and found that it greatly helped reduce my pain and inflammation. As I added foods back into my diet after the "cleanse" portion I found I have a sensitivity to all things soy. In the 7-8 years following, if I avoid soy as much as possible my pain and flares are not too terrible. It is still true now, but I've been having more pains in the last 2-3 years. (I think it's due to a few factors not related to diet, still trying to find answers).
You can get hand warmer patches, that are reusable, and you literally just click them and they heat up instantly. You just reset them by putting them in a tea towel and boiling them. You can microwave them but I’ve often found they’re more likely to burst when microwaved. They’re quite small so you might need to use 2 at a time but they will last a few hours and you can get them fairly cheap too. I think there are actually band style ones designed to wrap around your stomach too.
This is the kind I mean, you can probably find others cheaper and get a few different kinds
I ordered some leggings off Amazon that are amazingly soft and easy on my engorged belly. Not sure if they’re still available but here ya go: TNNZEET 3 Pack High Waisted Capri... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083958HWJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yeah!! I think I bought these ones (link is very long lol) but as long as they say saliva/urine strips you’re good
I get my progesterone cream from amazon here is a link to the brand I get as for my diet I’m grain free, soy free, low fiber, low sugar.
I highly suggest getting a combination heat and tens unit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K6VRH56/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_ZWMVXSV2EPEWPX094GD3). Ovira and other “period” oriented tens machines are way overpriced and actually don’t work as well as a cheaper machine from Amazon, and they have more functions that you can choose from!
As for all the pain you’re in, know it’s valid, and you deserve treatment, and are not broken! I’ll keep you in my prayers that your pain can be relieved and that you’ll find the source of your pain and receive treatment🥰
I avoid dates because of the high sugar content, but I’ve been playing around with low FODMAP and SIBO diets with varying success. If you’re interested I really like SIBO Made Simple as a good starting place. They talk about different diets and different approaches, which are more or less restrictive, it also talks about how easy it is to fall into disordered eating, and takes the approach of “if it doesn’t bother you, eat it!” I really appreciate the acknowledgment that nothing is one size fits all, there is no one answer, and for you to do what works best for you.
If you're interested in learning about this lifestyle this is the book I'd recommend: HNTD
The Jaroudi Family YouTube channel is also an awesome resource for compliant yet delicious recipes.
I just bought one for $30 off of Amazon - haven’t used it yet, but it has thousands of positive reviews. It’s tiny, black and silver, and completely non-gendered!
Here is the link: TENS Unit
I’m not a doctor, but if you’re thinking about another baby Orlissa can change your ovarian function.
Not a doctor either, but fellow endomate Bridget Hustwaite has a great book How to Endo. Big recommend. how to endo
Portable Electric Heating Pad for Cramps,Menstrual Heating pad,Lower Back Pain Relief USB Infrared Warming Waist Belt,3 Temperature Settings with Auto Shut Off https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082FT423Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_X99HYC3Y9GEKP9MSC1QF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use this one. The battery that comes with it was useless and didn’t even work but I already had a battery pack and the plug on this is a basic usb. It works great. I’m a little too round for it but it sticks in my waist band great.
When I had mine, I got a grabber like this one https://www.amazon.com/RMS-Magnetic-Dressing-Mobility-Extension/dp/B00UXUP930/ref=sr_1_3?crid=NBCZYYKFY677&dchild=1&keywords=pick+up+helping+hand+grabber+long+reach+arm+extension+tool&qid=1615539474&sprefix=Extension+arm+pick%2Caps... . I couldn’t bend to pick anything up, so it was great when I dropped something or needed to reach for something. Also, I had an electric recliner chair I got second hand so I could sit in the lounge with everyone else with a blanket. I’m sure your partner has some clothing, but I couldn’t wear anything that touched my waist tightly for a couple of years, so loose dresses and nighties were my go-to.
It took me about 7-8 months to recover, but I was very run down before my surgery. It hurt to drive for years and I was very, very self conscious about the massive scars. I was rather grumpy as I felt very vulnerable. Also, I ended up with complications- due to my body, not my very good medical care.
I couldn’t carry anything more than a book or a cup of coffee for weeks and even that hurt, so maybe some small bottles of water? I remember just wanting a proper cup of coffee and not being able to drive and get one, so my first purchase once I recovered was a Nespresso - good side of mediocre coffee but handy in lockdowns. And housework /vacuuming was too hard- I couldn’t stretch or lift to do laundry or change sheets so hired a cleaner.
I won’t say it was a miracle cure, but I’m glad I had the procedure. It was the start of me eventually getting my health back.
Hi! I’m responding to an old post you may have forgotten about.
I don’t know exactly which ones you’ve seen, but I have this back brace thingy. I use it for the back pain I get from endo more than abdominal/pelvic cramps, so take my opinion with that in mind.
I was also amazed at how well it actually heats up. I figured with no power source it couldn’t actually get hot, but after about 15 minutes directly on my skin it heats up, then after about 40 minutes gets so hot it’s unbearable.
I mostly use it as a back brace with a shirt under it so it doesn’t heat up, and it’s a lifesaver while I’m traveling both for the back support and as a makeshift heating pad when I need it.
This might not be at all what you were looking for but I was searching for heating pad reviews in this sub and came across your comment so I thought I’d give you a different opinion!
Sorry about that - I'm from Canada. I just checked and it looks like it's also on the U.S. site here though. It doesn't have to necessarily be the vaginal ones, but what's nice about them is that they're 1) longer so they can fit over many incisions and 2) aren't heavy or bulky. I tried to use a regular cooler-style one and felt that it was too heavy to rest on my incisions the first few days.
I wholeheartedly agree with what everyone here has suggested. I also wanted to recommend this pillow
I am sitting here six hours after surgery and so grateful for it. It has a separate section that zips off and I used that in the car as a belly pillow and have it draped around me now. The ‘hook’ shape is incredibly supportive, and the cover is removable to be washed. Best of luck, you got this!
I have this on my stoamch as well and I’ve tried taking time away from my heating pad but it’s one of the only things that can help when I’m at my worst. And while the less frequent use led to some fade, I started using this face serum “the ordinary” from Amazon LINK and it had axe a huge difference. In the span on a month using it twice a day has faded a lot of the discolouration and my stomach looks so my better. I recommend trying it- it’s $15. Lmk if you have questions bout it maybe I can help
We’re in the same boat, it’s so hard to find things to wear that are tolerable when I’m bloated up twice my normal size. I just ordered these and can let you know how they are when they arrive on Saturday.
I found it on Amazon!! It's a wrap that holds on via velcro so it's a little bulky under clothing but nothing obnoxious! Im in Canada so this is the one I ordered https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B075XLK5S3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I would recommend buying additional batteries as they don't last toooo long. But definitely a good couple hours. It says for back but I put the heated side on my tummy if needed, or my hips or back.
There are also lots available on Amazon! Mine is this listing. Got it for $30 but it’s a bit more now. It has A TON of settings
I made my own suppositories and yes, they are awesome. Though for some reason after being on Keto (to lose weight) I haven't been in pain AT ALL in the past month or so... this is unheard of. Prior to that it was worse than its ever been.
The suppositories are near instant pain relief. I swear it takes about 5 minutes.. I can feel the pain turning into a cooling/"minty" feel good sensation then those feelings and the pain just disappear entirely.
I used these suppository molds
Heat pads for life!!! Also when it’s hot sometimes lying with back flat to floor and legs on wall helps a lil with the pain management for me (not a fix, just helps I think). Also I swear by this $20 accupressure mat I use every night in my bed for 15 mins. Idk if it even really works or is psychosomatic haha. But weirdly working on back pain seems to help with the pelvic pain a lil.
I’m comorbid with a trauma related disorder too and I know how hard it is to be taken seriously by docs. Everybody’s body is different and don’t feel dumb if something that works for one person doesn’t work for you!
I recommend MegaWise TENS&EMS TENS unit, it is a new release on Amazon, but its manufacturer is the same as the TOP1 brand, The factory has more than 10 years of technology development experience in the industry.
Relatively speaking, the TENS unit has more functions. MegaWise has been upgraded this time, adding the EMS function, which is also suitable for the needs of muscle stimulation and recovery. 24 modes, support two people using different modes to massage at the same time.
Moreover, it is still in the new product promotion period, and the price is about 10 dollars cheaper than the general discount.
The main difference between TENs and EMS?
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machines stimulate the nerves exclusively for the purpose of relieving pain, whereas Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) machines are designed to stimulate the muscles for the purposes of strengthening and rehabilitating them.
I use these. Psyllium husk helps me a lot, but I never really believe it until I stop.
I tried the pill for 3-4 years, so I've been off it for over ten years.
I love all the comments here, all great advice! The one thing I would add is a tens device! It has been actually life changing for me. Helps block the pain signal so I can get some work done. This is the one I have and use, I love it! Will need AAA batteries for it though https://www.amazon.com/Omron-Power-Relief-TENS-PM3032/dp/B00SVPNZXU Hope this helps, best of luck to your sister :) you're so kind for doing this, not many people take that extra step. She's lucky to have you!
Oh, man! That’s a bummer!
What about this one? Sunbeam ChillAway Heated Wrap, Garnet, TCFQR-310-00 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FHW8XQ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_W1qHFb5MFAMPT
Mine is a sunbeam/Therapetic brand if that helps your search any. Try searching for a heated wrap instead of heating pad. You can also get a regular heated blanket or throw and ball it up the same way. It’s just bigger and bulkier. But it works too.
This is not what you’re asking for so I hope someone else replies, but I got a heated mattress pad that has 5 different heating setting and can stay on all night and it’s not great for summer time obviously cause it gets very hot but omg my favorite is having it on and my whole bed anywhere I turn is just heated, it feels so good on my lower back and I wouldn’t have thought of putting a heating pad there necessarily and I turn on my tummy and let it just absorb all the heat. I also think heated blanket is a magnificent idea. Just throwing this idea out there too cause when I was considering which large heated item to get I was nervous I would forget to turn off the blanket and it would be a fire hazard or something even though I know maybe that’s a tiny bit of a myth?, and I wanted to be able to keep it on all night so I wouldn’t wake up in pain and want the heat again, and I wouldn’t feel as comfortable leaving a heated blanket on that long. But, heated blankets are more mobile and I see all the benefits of them too. Sorry so much unsolicited advice!! This is the mattress pad I have, it’s a bit expensive but I wanted one that was mainly cotton instead of polyester: https://www.amazon.com/Holmes-Premium-Quilted-Electric-Mattress/dp/B075ZVCZ8M. Also, I have fibromyalgia too, so maybe my desire to have fulllll body heating pad all night is more helpful for fibro and a blanket would be more helpful for targeted areas of endo, idk.
You can make your own. I'm not sure if showing a product link is allowed (moderator feel free to remove if not) my share is to serve as a guide, not to support a specific brand but I purchased these and they are ideal as a suppository making tool and then add my CBD oil. Its more cost effective and you are in direct control of dosing. Mix with Cacoa Butter, freeze and they are ready to go. Hope this helps.

I’ve just started Heather’s tummy fiber and it really works for IBS and IC recommended. Helped me very much. Follow directions. Too much creates cramps

I just got a weighted heating pad from Amazon. IT IS GREAT. The weighted beads in it help to apply extra pressure to the spots where I'm cramping the most. I used to use a regular electric heating pad and always wished that I had something to apply pressure on the areas. (some times I would get lucky and my cat would come lay on my abdomen with he heating pad. lol)
This is the one I got and they also have a large size: https://www.amazon.com/Pure-Enrichment%C2%AE-WeightedWarmthTM-Non-Toxic-Micromink/dp/B084SV6BX2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1YUTGRHQB6ET1&dchild=1&keywords=weighted%2Bheating%2Bpad&qid=1594246162&sprefix=weighted%2Bheating%2Bpad%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-1&th=1
I’m not sure if this is the same but I found something similar on amazon! Thank you for sharing yours OP!

I use my TENs machine pretty much every other day and during an entire flareup. It doesn’t fix the pain, but it does alleviate the pain until it subsides. I bought mine off Amazon and it’s lasted me almost 2-3 years I think https://www.amazon.ca/Rechargeable-Cleared-Electric-Stimulator-Massager/dp/B077BVRSD1/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=tens+machine&qid=1590383467&sr=8-4
I have this heated bean that Brooke stone use to sell maybe 10 years ago. Just checked amazon and it looks like they have something similar. Takes 15 mins to charge stays hot for like 4/5 hours . It’s amazing https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Heat-Rechargeable-Arthritis-Menstrual/dp/B00N3009M8
If you use Amazon, I can recommend these. I bought them twice. They are extremely comfy, and I like that the lining is of a dark color. Just be vigilant about washing them once you're done wearing them:
These are an awesome pair I just bought from Amazon. They look more like workout leggings but I think they look fine as pants. They're very sturdy and stay in place but plenty of stretch so as not to hurt your abdomen.
They sell them at drugstores but I got mine off Amazon. Just search “TENS unit”. I may have spent $30 on mine but they have ones made specifically for cramps (those will run you $100-200). I’ve done the research and they’re no better, just a bit more discreet. I went with the most basic unit because I liked the functionality but you can get any type you think works best for you. It essentially does the same thing as those “ab belts”.
I follow my bedtime routine:
I got my favorite weighted blanket from a seller on Amazon for only around $65. Super worth it and the quality is amazing! I also bought one for my daughter and we can now sleep 8hrs straight and wake up feeling well-rested and energized.
I really hope this helps and that it works for you too!
Research anti-inflammatory diet. It’s most likely the celiac diet as well. It’s recommended to anyone with an auto immune disorder (endo, celiac, ect). Basically it’s no gluten, dairy, sugar, and treat your body with healthy clean foods like chicken and fish and veggies. Not really rocket science it’s just good clean eating.
Endometriosis: A Key to Healing Through Nutrition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C0U6Y6W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_K7csDbB6G64RE
This a great book along with a few others on amazon. I think it’s great that you are investigating this because how you eat has a HUGEEEE effect on how you feel and function, endometriosis or not. This is spoken from the girl who has endo, realized she was eating like shit, stopped eating like shit to lose weight and then my endo symptoms greatly reduced as a side effect. I also converted my bf who lived on Wendy’s when I met him to meal prepping and cleaner eating and he says he feels the best he has ever felt (he’s turning 40 in sept).
If I could make one recommendation it’s water. Your main drink needs to be water. And a lot of it. One of the biggest changes I made was giving up the “large French vanilla ice coffee extra cream and sugar” that I got every day in the way to work. Good lord I was starting the day hammering my system with all that sugar and every once and while I’ll pick one up and feel like utter shit after having it. You will start to feel better almost immediately if you make your primary drink the good ol H2O!!
Lara Briden recommends Meriva turmeric or Davidson laboratories. I buy this one and it seems to be working.
