Subh-i-Azal died in 1912. The first cycle of 66 (from 1850) ended in 1916. The second cycle from 1916 ended in 1982. The current third cycle of 66 years from 1982 ends in 2048. There were in fact three separate claimants after Subh-i-Azal, which I briefly detailed at the end of this paper (see n196), none of whom met with any success among the Bayanis. The last of the Witnesses of the Bayan died in 1963 and appointed a dud to succeed him who basically took his leave from the community since he was never serious to begin with and died some years ago without issue.

The explanation given to the ringstone symbol is total bollocks and a form of typical Baha'i intellectual dishonesty. This symbol and variations on it exist in all kinds of Islamic occult talismans. It is a variation on what some Western scholars have termed lunnettes and what Islamic texts have termed aqlam (occult pens). The function of such devices in Islamic occult texts are for purposes of conjuration, usually of what these texts claim to be the jinn. I spoke briefly about these, here, and noted the conspicuous similarity of such devices to those found in the Greek Magical Papyri.

Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri was NOT a Witness of the Bayan. I have covered this in detail here where I have identified who these witnesses of the Bayan actually were. No Bayani text has ever asserted or maintained that Baha'ullah was a Witness of the Bayan.

This whole concept is one of the many blatant pieces of ideological plagiarism by the Baha'i founder from Subh-i-Azal: ideological plagiarism which is replete throughout his writings.

Among several visitation tablets (i.e. the genre of prayer known as ziyara) specifically written for Subh-i-Azal, the Bab ends these prayers with the following refrain:

"...And God hath cursed the people who have sought to destroy Thee! And God hath cursed the people who have oppressed Thee! And God hath cursed the people who have conspired to shed Thy blood! And God hath cursed the people who have consented to murder Thee! And God hath cursed the people who have not recognized Thy rank! And God hath cursed the people who have not made efforts to avenge Thee from Thy enemies, for God hath indeed cursed the people in whose hearts was not found love for Thee!...And those who have oppressed Thee shall learn with what an overturning they shall be overthrown..."

Per the logic of these devotional pieces, Shoghi Effendi, his grandfather and great-grandfather -- together with all their partisans from before and after -- are among those cursed by God in the eyes of the Bab himself.
