Original dev here; I keep an ear to the ground, but I've never seen anything that's really stuck. If you go to the app stores and look at similar apps, that'd be a start (Android, iPhone). Back in my day, it was Epic Win (worth checking out), SuperBetter, LifeRPG... something Bull... Anyway, I'm not helping much, point is I haven't personally seen any clear wins out there, but it seems to me there's quite a lot these days so just cast a wide net.
History on the art: I made it with no money or art skills, so I used the Creative Commons BrowserQuest spritesheets. Open-sourced the project and contributors just built off of what was there, none of us considered upping the resolution. Kinda snow-balled that way, and eventually it's just too deep to start over. Basically an accident. Haven't worked for them in many years though, so this just off the record.
Yep, you get one Mystic Hourglass for every three consecutive subscription months.
https://habitica.fandom.com/wiki/Mystic_Hourglass
> A Mystic Hourglass is a special item given to subscribers who maintain a three-month consecutive subscription.
I think you should spend Mystic Hourglasses if you see something in the Time Traveler's shop. Those items are only one hourglass, so stocking up on them doesn't do a ton.
You can read pretty clearly what is allowed and what is not in the [community guidelines](https://habitica.com/static/community-guidelines) which you accepted before entering habiticas social spaces.
I don't think you can before 10, just wait till 10. If it's really irking you, you can go to https://habitica.com/user/settings/site and "Fix Character Values" your level to 9 then level up manually. (I wouldn't set it to 10, don't know what back-end triggers might not flag if you set it this way). But yeah, if I recall - your first point becomes available at 10 (or maybe even 11).
I've had decent success with Loop in the past, though it doesn't really do much in the way of "cute incentives to keep going". Just operates on the idea that once you get a chain going and you can see it, you won't want to break it.
If you don't need an avatar / gamification setup, you could also try tracking that kind of thing in something like Obsidian. There are tons of community plug-ins for it and I'm willing to bet somebody has already developed a habit tracking feature. This would mainly be a good option if you're already in need of a good personal encyclopedia style note app, otherwise it's overkill.
Gems are motivating for me. You get them by joining challenges. https://habitica.com/challenges/findChallenges
Make sure you only join challenges that are in line with your goals and needs. There are too many, and you may end up burning out or distracted.
there a few more different ways to visualize progess. one is task value, the color of the daliy
blue is good, red is bad!
one more option that i might get to eventually is to follow the custom attributes wiki page.
i am planning to eventually get around to creating a script to help with that!
another option, might be to use a different app called do it now rpg which has something similar. personally though it has too much customization for my taste and no social features!

Party Wanted International
A guild to find a party speaking a language other than English more easily. French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Italian, Swedish, Chinese, Russian, Finnish, Filipino, Turkish, Dutch, Portuguese, and many other languages.
A lot of these are already suggested features or available!
I don't see a request or suggestion on the trello for changing the default task difficulty, so you should consider submitting it if you'd like!
If you want to suggest it, you can head over to Help > Request a Feature and suggest it! Right now though, most parties just take turns :)
This is my first (and simple) Zap to connect trello and habitica

I used to use Habit Bull. Good for habits and you can set how often you want to do them (so you could effectively make a habit a daily by requiring it 7 days a week). Only reason I left it was because I wanted my to-do list in the same place - so if you're covered on task management, that might be a good option.
My costume for the #HabiticaCostumeChallenge :D https://habitica.com/
My doggie Ruby, bearded dragon Monchi, and my Moth Maki!!
by the beach next to my home, it was extra challenging getting us all dressed up to the beach, so i took some photoshopping liberties
Maki hatched into an Automeris Naranja last month, so I'm happy to have the Cocoon Carryall to remember him.
And I haven't found the orange cat hat, so my kitty Ponchi didn't get to participate T_T maybe next year
Group plans definitely still exist. https://habitica.com/group-plans
What I have done to avoid paying (too spendy for the size of my family and limited usage) is me having all their passwords. On a PC, I can open multiple browsers to log in to each account. One in normal mode, one in Incognito/Private mode. So I'm in my account in my preferred browser, Kid 1 is open in Incognito/Private in the same browser, Kid 2 is in secondary browser, Kid 3 is in secondary browser Incognito/Private, and so on. It's not ideal but it works for me to check if they've checked off their things at the end of the day.
We have certain tasks that we rotate who does it each week. I set the same task up in every kid account, repeating every X weeks, with each kid having a start date that is offset by a week from each other. Kid 1's start date is July 7, Kid 2 is July 14, etc.
I know that this might now be able to be answered as it's a relatively complicated question, but I'm trying to update a habit with a + via a post webhook. I can't figure it out though and maybe someone could give me a little hand. In the end I hope to trigger a positive habit whenever I complete a task in the task application I have to do for work. The only piece I'm missing is the Post settings for the webhook I've tried the https://habitica.com/api/v3/tasks/f76004a6-a186-477c-9c8b-eeee5fe6de9c/score/up
But not sure how to add the proper authentications to it.
Thanks in advance!
Hi! There's actually a guild specifically for people looking for parties, I'll link it here. You can also access that guild by going into the Tavern, and then checking the sidebar. People are a lot more active there than on Reddit, so you'll definitely get a party invite faster. Best of luck on your Habitica journey :)
(copypasted that reply from a few days ago. Good luck finding a party!)

Shows up fine for me. Try going to the main guilds page/public guilds and it should be right at the top or here hopefully this works: https://habitica.com/groups/guild/f2db2a7f-13c5-454d-b3ee-ea1f5089e601
Super delayed, but...
If you want pixel art, you might try out the Pixel Power Guild -- I know they've partnered to provide art to other guilds before. :)
As for habits, you might want to check out the different challenges that exist on the browser version -- they're often a great source of inspiration!
I know you're not knocking, I'm a pretty robotic/objective guy - don't hesitate to point out negatives. There's a few more that have popped up over the years I've written down somewhere but not sure where; if I find them I'll update here. Also look at similar-to on EpicWin, I'm seeing "RPG ToDo List & Calendar", "Habit Hunter", "Life Up", ... yeah the space has exploded (one of those "inevitable" ideas, like ToDo lists).
BTW, you say you've solo'd. I highly recommend going social. You don't want Habitica to be pleasant/comfortable, you want it to kick your ass. For me, boss fights with friends has kept me the most accountable to dailies I'd otherwise "eat" (eh, I've got enough HP). Can join mine if you want, drop a UserID. Anyone reading, likewise - I'll figure out a way to keep my party-size manageable later; but I've been hankering for a bit more social. Thought about rolling Rogue & wandering to other peoples' parties for 1month at a time, but my current party said they'd be sad :)
I have used one called LifeRPG (link)
It is a bit more cumbersome to learn at first than habitica, but it works offline. I think the biggest downside for you is that there’s no art style at all - all the rewards are text-based stat increases or custom text-based rewards. It feels a lot like one of those very old school RPGs.
It may not work for you because of the last point, but I guess it’s worth it to put it out there.
In example of Zombies run: You listen to a story while running, and occassionally you'll find loot. The longer you keep jogging, the more loot you could find.
And when you're back home, you spend 1-3 minutes using that loot.
I need something like this, except that I can spend more time than that.
Something like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shikudo.fitrpg.google&hl=en_US
but with more options to progress, other than daily steps.
