r/IDM is playing all of my old favs today!
Edit: If anyone is interested in James Holden's music, especially "The Idiots are Winning", most of the production was done on Jeskola Buzz machines (http://jeskola.net/buzz/), a free tracker with modular virtual instruments. Super fun to play with.
Not only do I not know where you can find it, I can't find any any evidence at all that this was ever actually a thing. Based on that, there's at least a chance that it was fake.
Source: Google and Wisp's discogs.com page, which includes tracks that were not released on a label:
XXDD .. ok.. but it wasn't my invention at all, for aggrandizing myself taste in public, woow, what phrases spends!! opposite this,i have only pretent to write the more real information i got.. see here. i dont know if jarr knows something about this , :-P https://www.discogs.com/Nicolas-Jaar-Nymphs-II/release/7607885
I first discovered this song and Ametsub in this mix. Great mix - you'll probably like it if you liked that song.
Also, turns out Ametsub recently did an astrangelyisolatedplace mix too. Cool!
Super talented and a sweet guy. :) He can often be found hanging out with the Touched family when it's live-- more than me lately, even, I betcha. Lots of cool folks hang out there. Ssssh. Secret.
This is a decent article on the topic

Ideally, it was a marketing term coined by audiences as opposed to the artists themselves and it is common knowledge that most of them outright denied the label. It used to represent post-rave/acid-house/techno fused with ambient qualities which focuses on private listening than for the dance floor. As a result, there would be more subtleties in the music as opposed to a track made for the dance floor. From the artist standpoint it encourages individual experimentation to not be restricted by any genre. Also there is a misconception that IDM always has to be complex and all 4/4 cannot be included. But there is a problem with that classification because a lot of BoC songs are in 4/4 . I believe this complexity is seen more across the board in jazz/prog rock.
some stuff falls through the cracks
this place called rym is a good place to see what an artist has been involved in
it doesn't show all the shit autechre has remixed though which is a lot of shit, there is a place called soulseekqt its a peer to peer thing download it and first you have to upload somethign to it so just upload any album but search for autechre remix, it should pull up a bunch of shit
Jesper Kyd implemented them in his score for the documentary "A Perfect Soldier" about a former child soldier for the Khmer Rouge who grows up to remove leftover land mines.

This app will allow you to download and convert to mp3. Also works with youtube, soundcloud, mixcloud, bandcamp, etc. So, if you open the mixcloud page, then paste that link address into this app, you can d/l the music on your local machine.
Try this thing .. http://www.gnoosic.com/ frankly I don't care about limited option opinion polls, but that thing might help you find stuff you like that you didn't know about (or help others find it).
He's got a new release called 'Dark Jovian' coming out on RSD. So probably to do with that. Its been on most of the RSD lists and its listed on amazon despite still being unavailable at the moment.
