if you can, repaint the whole area bright white, including the desktop and the purple. Can you install some kind of strip light under that shelf so it shines on your workspace? Reinstall the shelves so they come off of the angled ceiling. Freeing up space on the right side for a taller task lamp. I like this workspace, it just needs a few tweaks!
I have zero wall space and just bought this - it’s perfect!
Call me boring if you want but I think a light linen or off white sheer curtain will work great for your space. I ordered this one from Amazon, they actually custom made it to fit my window, and the price is very decent.
Hang a tapestry that both incorporates the color, and tones it down.
Ambesonne Grey and Aqua Tapestry, Ombre Traditional Universe Symbol with Tribal Geometric Mandala Zen Artwork, Wall Hanging for Bedroom Living Room Dorm, 40 W x 60 L Inches, Aqua Grey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCGMLPR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Q59qCbK8KEPJW
Attach the tv to the wall on an articulating mount. I used this one---> https://www.amazon.com/Bracket-Articulating-Rotation-600x400mm-Pipishell/dp/B07MZTT1BF/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=articulating+tv+wall+mount+for+65%22+tb&qid=1620407720&sr=8-4 It can lay flat on the wall if you want or it can be on a diagonal. Then, you could get a console that fits in that entire corner space.
I literally had the same issue so I used these over the door. They protect the glass and you don’t have to punch any holes.
I just got this one for $400 USD. zinus on Amazon (not velvet, but similar style).
One tip about shopping online for couches: pay attention to the depth of the cushions, some couches are incredibly narrow and uncomfy.
Big baskets under the TV stand which also double as storage, more textures (for example add a pillow like Moroccan wedding style style). Also add some hanging plants and where you can, more earthy elements like wood, natural weaves, etc).
100% recommend command picture hanging strips! Completely solves this problem. But I also think it's worth using nails sometimes. I've used these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XQ7N3TS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to hang pictures in my apartment on drywall, without paying any mind to studs and whatnot, and they work great and make only a tiny hole.
I guess this is a small living room and the table is your only dining seating? I have seen people mount simple 2x4 planks onto a wall to create a bar top. You can casually work or eat there. Something like this but you can DIY. bar top This would seem more like addition sitting in a living room instead of a traditional table in from of the window.
Then I would remove the art and get a large pop of color art piece. The room needs curtains. Make sure the curtains are hung higher than the window for illusion of height. I would remove the light up tree. If you remove the table you could fit another chair or a love seat. I would center everything around a larger round coffee table. You can entertain more people around the coffee table.
You could replace them and just put it back when you move.
I have a white and gold version of this planter, i think it would look really great with the color scheme. You can put other things in it aside from plants, especially if the bathroom doesn’t have a window.

There are some all-in-one bench and coat racks but nothing that I love the look of:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00BKHCPD2/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_fabt1_loBSFbRSPT8NB
If you are ok with coats out in the open vs in a cabinet, I really like these modern artsy coat racks: https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Adesso-Toby-Natural-or-Walnut-Wood-68-inch-Coat-Rack/26958936/product.html?option=45197858
I’ve been looking for one too recently! A lot of the good ones are sold out. I think it’s because there was an unexpected increase in demand because more people are working from home now.
Your budget might be higher than mine, but these are the two that I’m thinking about getting:
I was thinking about putting some nice peel-and-stick wallpaper on the top. Maybe a floral print. All my other furniture is plain white so I want something fun.
I saw curtains similar to these on an interior design YouTube video recently and loved them, just enough detail to add interest but still neutral and tranquil.
You can google it, but basically it's so stuff doesn't "walk" to the edge of the shelf and bonk you in the noggin in the middle of the night.
General stuff, like doors closing, vacuums---any vibrations really, would be the cause...
https://www.amazon.com/Quakehold-88111-Museum-Putty-Neutral/dp/B0002VA9NA
These could be for either the living room or bathroom - or both! given what you’ve described as your color schemes. I have them in white (no longer for sale in the color) and absolutely love them. I ordered some in red and am (im)patiently waiting their arrival.
https://smile.amazon.com/Whole-Housewares-Inches-Hurricane-Decoration/dp/B07RPTYDBC
If you're going to go for a bottom panel. I would use magnets instead of straight screws, so that it would be easily accessible.
These are nice maple cabinets that do not need painting..
Get some nice 6" handles: https://www.amazon.com/Cabinet-Stainless-Kitchen-Cupboard-Handles/dp/B07SL4VY5W
Remove the little strip of backsplash from the wall (they're just glued on and should pop right off) and tile a backsplash.
If you want to leave it, don't add tile on top of the existing.
I think the walls need to be a different color--what's there isn't enough of a contrast and really doesn't go with the counter...
Neat kitchen. Paint only that wall as an accent color you like. Maybe a subtle mint or yellow. Dont over do it as most of the area is beige. I would like a simple mirror that matches the decor like this sunburst. https://www.amazon.com/29-Starburst-Mirror-Sunburst-Wall/dp/B07N97Z7H8
Im sure you can find a stud to mount any wall hanging stuff. Good luck!
I would get a wall mounted, folding table like this one.
Then do some sort of cabinet for above it where you can store all those things you have there, but has a door to close it away so it doesn’t look so cluttered.
Maybe add a hanging plant in front of the window or a shelf like this so you can free up surfaces (ie no plants on the countertops).
The 70s were really the start of postmodernism, but the image on this post is Danish/Scandinavian MCM. The people on this thread chastising you aren’t being helpful - MCM style furniture was produced through the 70s (and even now!) but the design era of MCM typically cuts off ~mid 60s.
Since you’re asking for resources to learn more, this book is a great starting point. LMK if you want more!
A half height bookshelf sounds like a good idea, you can use it for storage and also have that sense of division. They also have dividers with shelves for a bit if decorativeness
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V4L9CGB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xhEOFbKBRBFYV?psc=1
Yeah the table is just a round slab from home depot ($7), hairpin legs off amazon ($21), and a paint sample from home depot ($4). It was exactly what we wanted there and took almost no time at all to put together - plus for comparable tables, there was nothing that cheap.
OOF, those mats are perfect! I might need to get those $25 for 4 is a steal... Thanks for the insight on the chairs, they won't be long time sitting chairs. More like break-time, coffee, tie the shoes, wait for the wife type chairs.
I bought blackout liners on Amazon and sewed them into curtains. They worked fantastic and they were white. I will see if I can find them.

Here they are: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KX0LVRC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details
I love your space already! The couch is perfect, and I love the color/fabric of the accent chair. I agree with the other commenters, the blue velvet dining chairs is a bit too much of the same to me. Here is an idea for chairs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7BBXKX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7r3MFbFFFR99H Also, your window looks like a great place for plants, maybe a nice tree 😊
Edit: I just noticed you said you already ordered the chairs. If those are your favorite of the two, I might suggest a gray fabric/tweed accent chair. For rug, I really love vintage oriental rugs
The 3M Velcro strips are seriously magic. I used them in all of my apartments over the years.
Edit: Amazon link for reference
I like glass by the sink but the one freakin time i put a glass bottle in the shower on a ledge i picked it up to wash some soap drips off it and it slipped out of my hand and broke in the shower. I didn't get cut at all but it was so sad/annoying that im just trying to find okay looking plastic now for the shower at least. There's a lot of glass bottles by different brands on amazon that basically all look the same. I've bought these before... This and this. And i've bought a handful of plastic ones from that InterDesign company before and all the pumps broke so i've been avoiding that company personally.
Lamps! You have two to three corners totally primed for a nice standing lamp. Or if you put in a small end table between the two sofas you could get a table lamp in there.
If you want it attached to a switch, check out remote light switches. You plug the little box into an outlet, then plug the light into the little box. The switch works as a remote to turn on and off the little box and you can put the switch anywhere. They look like regular light switches. ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R7Q7PT4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_23NCFbKW95R46)
Personally I'm not a fan of ceiling lights so im all about some awesome lamps. :)
The bed being so low with nothing on the walls kind of pulls the view down I think. I would get some risers for the bed. Then you could even store things underneath. It would look more adult that way too. risers
Other than that a plush rug and a large picture or group of smaller photos on the wall opposite the wardrobe would really help.
They actually make silicone tape for this purpose. You put it all along the top of the curtain rod, and it helps not only with noise but also so that the metal doesn’t wear down and become damaged. Moving metal on metal will eventually scratch the finish away.

Tapestries! Amazon has many beautiful lightweight printed cloth options. Ones over my bed! Two tiny gold nails in the top corners. 5 ft by 7 ft.
I agree with all comments on plants here are some ideas: artificial grass like this on each shelf
Or remove the middle shelf and go with these
And use LED lighting in the background, it will look amazing…
Link to my initial post.
Wanted to update everyone that gave me input. My goal was to keep the original cabinetry that was made by hand by a prior owner, unfortunately they were made of OSB. I wanted to make them look smoother and freshen up the space. I did 2 coats PPG Seal Grip primer on each cabinet door, then I ended up using Wallpaper Liner, it worked very well and was easy to work with, highly recommend!
Ultimately I'm very pleased with how this came out!
Paint colors are all Behr: Bitter Sage, Creamy Mushroom, and Polar Bear
Total cost was around $275.
overhead light it's like this, it's pretty bad and I need to change it out as its too bright
I’d go with a white shower curtain that has a subtle small black print.
Something like either of these:
https://www.target.com/p/june-journal-minimalist-triangles-shower-curtain-deny-designs/-/A-78591316
You have huge areas covered by your color triad, so replace those boring cushions with bright figurative throw pillows. https://www.amazon.com/ArtSocket-Mexican-Huichol-Decorative-Pillowcases/dp/B08P8CMBMF/ref=asc_df_B08P8CMBMF/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=507604313277&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12709650786464911429&hvpone=&hvptwo=&... Bring bright sheers to the windows and hang dramatic indigenous art on the wall, scatter a style mix of brightly painted individual coffee tables.
It will look better if you paint it. First do the best you can at taping along the edge of the baseboard and the wallpaper above the gap. Rub edges of tape to make sure the paint doesn't seep under the edge. Use a narrow foam brus...dip just the corner into the paint and dab on the area. Don't remove tape until paint has dried.
Another way to do it is to use and artist's brush -- a narrow one that tapers to a point. If you have a steady hand, you won't need tape.
Around the brick you could cut some firewood or try to build some small shelves in between by stacking books or other collection around it. On the top you could just add some plants or anything you like to give it a nice feature. Then you could add these acrylic shelf dividers if they fit.
I do have an exterior deck. The link best illustrates what I'm seeking, but wanting something nicer. Again, I WILL get enough sunlight for it to work even if I don't have a panel placed outside. Seems like very few actually have tried this.
You could try hanging/floating bookshelves (Something like these but that fit your style/space requirements) Since you have a lot of over head space on your desk I'd think about longer shelves, which will allow you to not only store your books but also put up some nice plants! That would hopefully take care of your bookcase need.
And as for the cat stuff, you could get a shelving unit that fits over the mini-fridge (like this one, but again, your style/storage reqs.) I'm not sure how much you're storing for your cat, but you can definitely put some baskets on the shelves for things like treats/toys.
Nothing wrong with the dining area because you can always have more room in the kitchen. I feel that cabinets are sometimes limited in space. If you want you can try and use these acrylic shelf dividers to organize your items on the shelf.
A console for the TV would work better. If you don't like that, at least you could get the cords out of the way, I like this method. It's easy and completely repairable if you have to move.
No need to add a chandelier by the fireplace. But on those shelves if you want you can add these acrylic shelf dividers to give it a nice look for organization your items
Found this one, after searching for pole wrap myself ... bit expensive but ...
Yes! Here’s the one I ordered. https://www.amazon.com/Livelynine-Countertop-Waterproof-Wallpaper-Countertops/dp/B08H2KNBMJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=KMGEUK4FFW3T&keywords=granite+contact+paper+for+countertops&qid=1669395160&sprefix=granite+conta%2Caps%2C261&sr=8-3 If you search “marble or granite contact paper for countertops” on Amazon a bunch of other options come up too.

It's just a surprise that I have a bed of Bme like this picture. I've bought one King Bed. At least after three months of use, It's quite nice and sturdy for me. Today I checked Amazon and discovered that they are having a big sale on Black Friday sale. About 15% Discount. Guess I'll get an extra bed for child 😁😁😁
I think you can add some acrylic shelf dividers on your shelf as long as they fit. They would look so amazing.
I discovered this bed on Amazon. I bought one and it gave me more than I expected. The bed is sturdy, and the texture on the headboard is unique. It's up to anyone who's interested in this Amazon Rustic Bed
If you’re looking to organize and divide your collection on the shelf you can use these acrylic shelf dividers. They would look perfect on your shelf.
There re some wonderful nesting tables on Amazon that can serve as a coffee table and also side tables when needed. The cool thing about them is they don’t have a lot of visual mass to them VASAGLE Industrial Nesting Coffee... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08N3WPZ6C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
There are these things you can mount on your wall called "hooks"...
Just kidding. That teeny tiny right-hand wall, seems like you could put one or two hooks at best there. Aren't there these super ultra modern hooks that lie flat when not in use? hmmm.....look for "folding hooks"-- there's no reason you can't put them on that wall by the open shower door too. I think it's just a matter of making sure they are still useful and are balanced (visually).
Hey look here! Pricey but you only need one. Also I'm sure you can find cheaper ones.
Colour wheel.
Find the opposite colour of blue on the colour wheel, (protip, it's orange), a yellowy pale orange will look nice as an accent.
You can also go by colour families, and choose neutrals (greys, whites, blacks) with undertones of your original colour, OR the complimentary opposite colour.
The room needs furniture, bed frame, etc so thanks for your help.
I'm looking for a tv stand and like the look of this
Not too good on blending/matching colors of room with furniture. But would this tv stand be okay with the table I plan to buy?
I like the ideas of the flooring, that will be something I plan to look in the later future.
I also plan to buy a nice piece of art for the bedroom so the idea of picture frames with the same wood tones as table is a great idea.
Here is the TABLE
The room color is Brewster Gray
Don't worry about the carpet. I plan on changing it after the new year but unsure of color
Holy crap! I didn’t notice the gorgeous fireplace in the first pic. It really stands out with the lighter color rug. They sell similar coffee tables that are a little larger. Window treatments: ivory/cream/light beige. Something with just a touch of texture. Chairs. We did these in the peacock blue. Surprisingly comfy, especially for the price.
Move the rug closer to the sofa and make it more even in the middle. You could also put the ottoman in the center of the rug too. The shelves look great but a little unorganized. If you want you could use these acrylic shelf dividers for organizing them.
How about putting a rod up near the ceiling and using a pole like they use in stores to reach the hangers? https://www.amazon.com/Flesser-Adjustable-Clothes-Telescoping-Extending/dp/B07Q1474PH/ref=asc_df_B07Q1474PH/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=366384136451&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9251317553420222100&hvpone=&hvptwo=&...
I love your plants!! You could add some wall art (make yourself or buy) and darker blankets/sheets. I like having LED lightsLED lights (there are so many different shapes) when I play my Nintendo switch.
Looks great! Overhead boob fixtures are the worst. Try adding some under the cabinet lighting for your kitchen, like this I’m about to order myself some for my new dark kitchen! Can you post a link to the peel and stick for the cabinets? Might need it myself
I found a curtain that would be the best of two worlds. Floral and gray and mustard.
A simple white roller shade could take care of privacy if that is an issue, then you could just put the panels on the outsides of the windows. I would raise your rod to the ceiling if you can. It would make your ceiling look taller than it does right now.
Otherwise, I love your style.
Winter's coming. A nice mustard throw on the sofa would be great.
The green footstool kind of looks out of place there. There is nothing that color in the room. How about putting it to the left of the sofa in front of the radiator and getting a small side table and a lamp instead.
Please post an update! I'd love to see your results.
You need this to mount the tv over the fireplace so you can pull it down and watch it at a reasonable height bc it is way too high for how close it is to your sofa. If you're planning to tile the fireplace, i would frame out the portion above the mantle and have the tile go all the way up to the ceiling. You don't need to remove the sconces. They look like they might be well placed, cut the back panel of the bookshelf for the sconce junction box and replace them with picture lights, something like this
You should read definitely read the Non Designer's Design Book! It's technically about typography, but it's such a great read if you want to learn about how to use lines and color.
Cute Soft Tiger Shaped Animals Bath Mat Area Rug for Bedroom Bathroom Kitchen Floor Water Absorption Non-Slip Small Carpet Door Mat Kid's Room Playmat (50*90CM) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089M47SGG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_EJTHT9TP4RX931Y51F30?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Is this a surprise? Or can you tell her in advance that you are going to paint it, let her pick the color for walls and trim, and then do a few extras as the wow part? Right now, I would not want to offer a color suggestion, because that is very personal. However the additional touches could be two fluffy runner rugs on either side of the bed for warm toes that coordinate with the new walls. If you must use under the bed for storage, how about a bed skirt that is attached under/behind the boards with something like Velcro, so it can be removed easily? Do you have a steamer or can you rent one? Cleaning the grout in the bath along with fresh caulk and paint will go a long way.
I keep thinking of wanting to soften the head of the bed somehow. From the string hearts and the painting, is she a bit of a romantic? You could hand something like this https://smile.amazon.com/EVEN-NATURALS-Luxury-Mosquito-Largest/dp/B014J3O32O/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3J6JT80YDEA61&keywords=Canopy+ring+net+bed&qid=1665142816&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjk4IiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=canopy+r... over the head, between the two windows. It will define that area without obscuring the windows on an awkward way.
You can put other locks on it, out of reach. Short of covering it with large, heavy furniture - which wouldn’t be recommended, in case of fire or other emergency - this would be an inexpensive and effective solution. Think chain locks, or something like Glidelok.
So if you don't plan on putting heavy things and don't want to damage the tiles you could use 3M shelves that hold using adhesives.
Floating shelves will definitely involve making holes.
We got these. Believe or not they are very comfortable and well made for this price. The blue is not slate, it’s definitely more peacock blue
Also, you can probably remove the gold accents from the fire place. I was able to unbend the them and pop them right off on mine. It updated the look immediately
I used something like this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KWD8TFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I would anchor an appropriately sized box on the wall, approx where the red circle is and have the cables and outlets in it. Of course you would have a box protruding from the wall. Not particularly beautiful but functional. You could apply the same concept and use a wooden box or something that agrees with your taste.
Cable management. You bundled them neatly together, which is good. But I'd go a step further. I ran mine behind my drywall, which looks super clean. But if you're renting, or you just don't feel comfortable cutting into you walls, you can get cable channel like this and it all but disappears.
I’d add an area rug in reddish tones like this one https://www.amazon.com/Loloi-Rugs-LORELQ-15TCSC-Collection-Terracotta/dp/B07B5CT3QG
You’ve got a lot of dark colors going on. Depending on your budget you could maybe swap out your TV console for something lighter colored and then move your current shelf to where that small side table is beside the couch so it’s against the side of the couch. Then you could style it with some plants, sculptural art, and decor.
I’d switch out the picture frames for something gold or brass, maybe get different lighter colored art, try a gallery wall or floating shelf or something less matchy.
You could add a small light wood round coffee table or a statement floor lamp. Maybe something like this https://www.amazon.com/Industrial-Farmhouse-Standing-Lighting-Included/dp/B08CR2YYYK/ref=mp_s_a_1_20
This would probably require taking out one of the couch sections, but a stylish accent lounge chair would look really nice.
I love the organic feel of this space! I'd like to see a pleated semi-sheer tan curtain, in keeping with the light airy feel that you love. https://www.amazon.com/RYB-HOME-White-Curtains-inches/dp/B07RV9TMZC/ref=sr_1_25?crid=1TJBO8M6A8GNL&keywords=semi-sheer%2Bpleated%2Blinen%2Bcolored%2Bcurtains&qid=1663905110&sprefix=semi-sheer%2Bpleated%2Blinen%2Bcolored%2Bcurtains%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-25&th=1
Forgo the framed TV. I really don't see the point, as it appears to look a lot like the frame of the TV that you already have.
I think the plant looks great! Overall, this is a huge improvement for such a short amount of time. I actually don’t know if painting is necessary any more, though it may not hurt, I think that’s up to your personal preference.
An artwork would look good to replace the anchor. Either something that brought in the natural wood/fibers or something with navy. If you still want to stick with something ocean themed (if this helps it fit in with the rest of the house), a seascape or other related artwork could do well.
The only other thing I could come up with is new towels. Plain white or navy or even something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Bedsure-Rayon-Bamboo-Cotton-Towels/dp/B08W4T823C/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=blue+and+white+bath+towels&qid=1663792560&sr=8-4
Even with plain bath towels, layering fun hand towels can add interest and dimension without going over the top (though in my opinion is pretty for styling but less for practicality)
That's a pretty low profile fireplace so I'd think you could just mount it into the brick right above the black housing.
If you're looking for something more adjustable though, this is an option: https://www.amazon.com/MantelMount-MM340-Above-Fireplace-Mount/dp/B01MS1MHET
If you're a bit of a shut-in like I am and don't like natural light, easiest solution would be a roll of aluminum foil (heavy gauge preferred) and duct tape. If you seal it right, it will be as if it were a solid wall there. Then you can easily hide the look of the ugly aluminum foil with the blinds you have.
Amazon has this blind that looks removable although it's a bit of a pain to install and take down: https://www.amazon.com/Easynight-Portable-Travel-Blackout-Blind/dp/B017AFTPH6?
Finally, you could just find a way to take that blind down and replace it with something you'd find in a hardware store, but that could be rather expensive given other options.
Yes that will do or something darker if you prefer. IMO, olive green adds a pop of color without overwhelming your neutral palette. It also makes your place more relaxing.
https://www.amazon.ca/Curtains-Insulated-Soundproof-Darkening-Classical/dp/B08NZ6WCJJ
If you can afford it, after you fix it (I support the idea to paint the top with a stenciled design), you can get a custom cut glass top to protect it. They're not super cheap but probably not terrible either if you live near a place and can avoid shipping fees. A cheaper option is thick clear tablecloth protector like this one, but a non-frosted one. You can cut it to size.
Actually, you could get one that is heavily frosted and it might cover or diminish the mark.
Stainless steel and do a counter depth fridge and change the floor vent cover to something stainless like this, your floors are way too dark to have so much white, so the appliance change is a good idea. What's the light fixture situation above it? That's where you can get creative
Replace the cabinet sink since it looks uneven. Find the dimension that would fit it. The shelves you could use these acrylic shelf dividers for organization.
I'm saving your kitchen to Pinterest. That's how much I love it's quirk! 🥰😍
Have you tried looking at some in-cupboard storage solutions to utilise every spare inch?
Just one example, I've found these useful in every kitchen/wardrobe I've ever had (renter here).
https://www.amazon.com/Storage-Cabinet-Organizer-Bookshelf-Cupboard/dp/B07HHD5YYJ
The also make them for paper towel holder too.
Also, if you can find a retro tall plant stand/ counter stool, you could use that to prop your water dispenser to make more bench space?
Defs rid of your red floor mat and red kettle (you've already got the SMEG one) and if you want to, change the cupboard colour to a more retro colour ( looks wonderful as is though).
You could even make a turquoise tiled ombré backsplash, from the dark green bench lightening upwards to the colour of your SMEG kettle.
I don't know if it's just the angle of the photo, but the underneath of the overhead cabinets look unfinished.
So jealous though 😩
Folded wash clothes or small towels. Maybe some potpourri in a bowl. Also if you want you could use some acrylic shelf dividers in the shelves to separate your items.
Koopang all the way! I changed my knobs out which allows you to personalise it depending on your style 💕 f.e. vintage knobs
Whatever you get, put a scratching post directly in front of it. Exactly where that closest convenient armrest is. 😭 Leave it there for at least a month. Then you can shift it further away, but find a spot in the same room, close to the cats natural path through the room. One aspect for this to work is the cat needs to love that post. Most sold are not sturdy enough. Here is my go-to. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JEADDCO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. My cats literally hang off them and I have had them for years. The price seems steep, but think of it as furniture insurance.
This isn’t the one I used but this is a cool one: https://www.amazon.com/FloorPops-FP3926-Beryl-Stick-Floor/dp/B09PC6BK2H/ref=mp_s_a_1_147?keywords=peel+and+stick+flooring&qid=1661811949&sr=8-147&wIndexMainSlot=81
I will say, they are slippery when wet so I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you have kids. I have a bath mat and it’s totally fine, but have slipped when I didn’t have them out bc they were in the wash or whatever.
I agree about the floor comments, it's pulling a bit yellow to me. Is it possible to refinish and restain the flooring?
I think a new light fixture could help too; the ones currently seem dark, as strange as it seems. Maybe something like this? You can also add a LED strip on top of the cabinets to help bring more light up. You can add light strips under the cabinets too.
I think painting the cabinets whatever colors you like will be a nice and fun way to add your personal touch and make things brighter.
I think all you need are some floor lamps and a rug that pulls all the colors together. The room is a bit dark, and right now all the teal you have is on the walls. This rug might not be to your taste, but I think you should look for one with a light background that has teal (or the lighter versions -- seafoam or sage) and also gold or tan or something for the couch or the chairs, and the chandelier. https://www.amazon.com/SAFAVIEH-Collection-Distressed-Medallion-Non-Shedding/dp/B07L6WXW5V/ref=sr_1_30?keywords=Seafoam%2BRug&qid=1661296464&sr=8-30&th=1
Another option would be toss pillows for the couch with some teal on them.
I would do a solid color drape. I have used these before and they were very luxe looking. Thick and very blackout. I used drapery rings and hooks to hang them. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWWWOTY/
I think the gray paint with the white light and super white trim is a bit stark for a bedroom. I would first experiment with light bulb colors (2700k, 3000k, 3500k etc) before doing any further decorating. Find lighting first as that will affect how all the colors, including paint, bedspread, curtains etc will look. I do think you need a dramatic set of lights on either side of the bed, either table lamps or they also make plug in sconces you can mount on the wall but plug into an outlet
You need some of these to keep the couch connected

Hi OP, relocate your beautiful mirror and cover the AC with one of the wooden shelves designed for this purpose. If you Google you’ll see they come in blue, white, various wood colours.
Decorate this shelf as a gorgeous display or plant shelf. Also I’d shift your day bed further away from the couch if it’s practical (aka more In line with where the mirror is now) to really open this corner of the room up, as it’s currently feels cut off or ignored.
To balance the area, I would also consider a lamp matching the one in the other corner or some other type of lighting. Plus shift your artwork into the middle of this wall to balance the room and to include this corner.
I can't tell for you, but it looks like you might have enough room between the sofa and wall to use something like this
By any chance is this what you got? https://www.amazon.com/LifeGrip-Resilient-Non-Slip-Traction-Comfortable/dp/B07XR5JPZP/
Our stairs look gorgeous, but we have a baby on the way and am a bit worried about the stairs during my final months of pregnancy, carrying a baby up and down them, etc. If I can find a way to improve safety while not ruining the look of the stairs I’d be over the moon!
I got some of these on Amazon because I couldn't put holes in the wall and they work really well.

I'd just use standard picture hooks. They're pretty tiny holes. Some neat stuff for patching such small holes on the market - this stuff seems to work pretty well according to most reviews. Just a matter of matching the paint. Hell, as a property manager, I'd personally overlook that size hole on exit inspection.
Might even just ask your landlord.
Probably the best option. The next best option might be ceiling curtain rods You could get ceiling mounted rods or brackets. Two examples below
