A similar thing already exists, although it's meant for use with the book "Remembering The Kanji", called Kanji Koohii. Memrise also has a similar feature. That's not to say that you shouldn't keep developing your website/app, but unless you can build something a lot better, not many people are going to use your site. Especially for 20€/month, that's a ridiculous price-point. Memrise pro is less than a fourth of that price, and is fully developed with a large community(along with tons of extra features besides the mems, which are a free feature in the first place). And, as someone else mentioned, you could buy one of the most popular books for learning kanji, The Kodansha Kanji Learners Course (KKLC), for two months of your subscription.
I like the idea of your site, and if you could build something better than what's already out there I'd definitely be interested in using it. But, you need to seriously re-evaluate your pricing, and have a look at what's already out there(so that you don't make something that already exists) for that to happen.
Hulu is a good choice. There's plenty of disney shows on there and some good choices of Japanese kids shows etc.
You can just VPN your way through it, I used to do this when I was living in the UK and wanted to just have some crap on in the background.
I would recommend using http://www.vpngate.net/ja/ - and finding a decent exit. Use the VPN gate client rather than softether vpn http://www.vpngate.net/en/download.aspx It gives choices without configuration.
I think this goes without saying. If you're going to learn Japanese, do not bother with Romanji. Romanji is for tourists visiting and need to know how to say a word or two in a tight situation. Part of learning a language competently is learning the writing.
As for resources, I'd suggest going to http://jisho.org/ to look up verbs, and then using some flashcard app (there are many) to study them. You can conjugate them on the website, but you need to just learn the conjugations.
Japanese is a difficult language for everyone except arguably Okinawans. It is not something that can be half-assed like Germanic or Romantic languages. For your sake, please learn it properly
for translations try /r/translation in future! but the definition of the kanji is "good fortune". have a look at this list of words containing it for some idea of the other connotations http://jisho.org/words?jap=%E7%A6%8F&eng=&dict=edict enjoy!
This looks great, I currently use NHK Easy Japanese News on my mobile for the same kind of thing, but this has that plus more. Thanks a lot for posting it.
Edit: Are there any plans to allow the app to pre-fetch articles at all? Or does too much of the analysing process require an internet connection?
You may give my little app a try. It is ad free and has nearly 4000 words. Goigoi for Android
If you use android
Try Anki for flashcards Kanji study and Kanji app for kanji Hinative for answers to Japanese questions
For remembering kanji and vocab from class you can checkout a free app I made Tango App. It's a notebook of sorts, to save Japanese kanji, words and phrases
Hi there. I'd like to tell you about my experience of learning japanese via skype. I've found one pertty good website, where you can choose an tutor for lessons via skype. You can take a look at that here: https://preply.com/en/japanese-by-skype . I've already had three lessons and I can say the next: 1. Lessons are interesting. My tutor is young man and I can get some modern slang. 2. Lessons are a little bit expensive. But, I'm working with native speaker and it should cost something. 3. In general I like it.
Great advice! I upgraded my StrongVPN account to enable use of a Japan IP address. It's still plenty fast for streaming video (10mbps down/20mbps up) and hulu.jp allowed me to sign up with my US-funded PayPal account.
I didn't see the Disney stuff my daughter likes, but should be enough Japanese kids' content there to keep her busy for a while.
