I like Jaxx because of the multicurrencies, platform syncing and the integration with shapeshift but 3 weeks without MY bitcoin cash is unacceptable.
It is difficult to recommend Jaxx because it doesn't support the #3 cryptocurrency on https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/#/usd
I don't want to move to another wallet but I may have to. I am loosing money because Jaxx is not supporting bitcoin cash.
Hi. If you're looking for support please submit a ticket via support.decentral.ca
Be sure you haven't installed one of the fake apps. Always get your Jaxx Liberty wallet by downloading it from jaxx.io/downloads
If you know your seed or private keys you have both BTC an BCH. Wallets doesn't matter.
Edit: AFAIK, Jaxx doesnt support bch at the moment though. You can import it into electrum cash. https://www.bitcoincash.org
Windows:
Get safe, open-source, non-web desktop wallets for each of the coins you own in Jaxx.
Makes sure you have sent out every coin from Jaxx to these wallets so that Jaxx will be fully empty. Set view to display ALL coins. Check the destination wallets that the coins have all arrived. If this step is complete, your funds are already safe because they are not in this unsafe piece of software and no need to worry. The rest is extra safety steps and privacy clean-up.
Back up your mnemonic phrase to a secure place (e.g. use KeePass), and preferably also the private keys which held coins. Just in case.
Erase AppData storages of Jaxx with something like Eraser (https://eraser.heidi.ie/). Don't just delete because this can leave traces of your keys on your hard drive. Of course, if you still use the other wallets on this same hard drive, erasing makes no sense and you are okay with only deleting. I think Jaxx has a directory only in C:\Users<user>\AppData\Roaming, but also check out Local.
Delete the application directory (wherever you unzipped Jaxx when you started to use it).
I found this app on the Google Play store today.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaxxliberty.app
I believe the real wallet is made by Decentral Inc (the official website links to the app made by them) but there is a fake wallet made by "Jaxx Inc". Be careful.
Edit: tagging u/Jaxx
This ongoing saga is not needed. You DO NOT need Jaxx for splitting BCH. Use Exodus wallet for Desktop and get it done quickly, or Electrum wallet.

Sorry to hear, gkucmierz; sounds frustrating!
I believe the QR code is a convenience - resulting addresses should still be double-checked - it's best to contact the Jaxx.io support if you believe there is a problem with it.
Check MENU and the WALLETS tab for the WAX token.
Please be sure to update to the latest version of Jaxx, if under MENU > About, you don't have 1.3.9, you can get the latest version from here: https://jaxx.io/downloads.html. Be sure to have a copy of your 12-word Backup Phrase.
Posting this as a new message as it answers multiple questions asked below.
All the Jaxx Wallet apps are perfectly safe if you get them from our official website: https://jaxx.io/support.html
You can download the Desktop versions from there and there are official links to the Play and App store from there.
There are websites out there claiming to be Jaxx (such as jqxx.io or jaxxx.io and there can be more) and some of them might be offering you the Jaxx Wallet off of their own hosting. DO NOT DOWNLOAD those as they can modify the apps and inject code that could potentially steal your funds.
We have already reached out to their hosting providers abuse departments and have informed our legal about it too.
Hi there,
Sorry to hear that! Are you running our latest version (https://jaxx.io)? Also, please make sure you're in your ETH wallet to transfer the funds into Jaxx. We're working on optimizing this process!
Guys, ShapeShift is down for maintenance. It mostly has to do with the fork today. If ShapeShift's main website is temporarily suspended (or any token there), their API is as well so no ShapeShifting from Jaxx either. https://shapeshift.io
No worries, it's actually been a common problem with people sending BTC to BCH address and vice versa. You can separate them with the following steps:
First of all - go into your wallet and make sure that you have your 12 word back up phrase written down and stored safely.
How can I get my 12-word Backup Phrase?
Please make sure you will do the below steps using the Chrome extension. You can find our Google Chrome Extension here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jaxx-blockchain-wallet/ancbofgphhmhcchnaognahmjfajaecmo
I was also worried about this. follow the steps for the Coinomi wallet restore. Very easy.
As I mentioned before, Jaxx (Classic) will have this problem because it is discontinued and no longer functioning as it should.
Be sure to install a fresh copy of Jaxx Liberty from Jaxx.io/downloads and pair your 12 word phrase to it. If you're still having that initialisation issue after that, be sure to reach out to support with some screenshots so they look into it. https://support.decentral.ca/hc/en-us/requests/new
Hey, this is a known issue and we are working on fixing it right now. We hope it will be fixed soon. Meanwhile, you can always check the price of ICN here: https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/iconomi/
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Unless there's some sort of bug that surfaces for BCH, the amounts should show up in Jaxx as soon as we enable the BCH wallet. I think you can check your BCH balance by entering your BTC Jaxx address (that had BTC before the fork) here: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/blocks
The reason we were recommending to keep BTC there was to be 100% sure that an issue doesn't surface as the BCH chain has new developments and maybe unknowns.
Your Private Keys should definitely work. You can even test them out before initiating the balance move. Simply install a brand new Jaxx Liberty Wallet on your device (get it from Jaxx.io/download) and create a new wallet. Open the MENU > Tools > Import Paper Wallet, select the asset you want to import and paste the Private Key. The app will check it and tell you if there is a balance it can import.
Hi. We're sorry to hear this happened to you but know that Jaxx Liberty never has or owns your digital assets.
Jaxx Liberty is a non custodial wallet. This means that all your digital assets are on the blockchain and can be controlled via the 12 word Backup Phrase or the Private Keys.
If anyone has your phrase or keys, they have full access to your digital assets, and since we use standard protocols, they can use that security information in any compatible crypto wallet.
If you've downloaded one of the fake Jaxx apps, they someone may have gotten access to your security information and the above applies as well.
It's important to always install Jaxx Liberty from the official source on <strong>Jaxx.io/downloads</strong>
It's also very important to not share your wallet phrase or private keys with anyone, not even Jaxx staff (mostly impersonating Jaxx staff). Do not have the wallet installed on a shared computer or phone/table that multiple persons use.
The only way to reset the password is if you know your 12 word Backup Phrase. The password is only session connected so it isn't transferred on another device you have the waller on and is not kept when fully re-installing the application on the same device.
What I would suggest first, to be sure you have the right phrase, install Jaxx Liberty on another platform or even as a Chrome extension. Get it from jaxx.io/downloads. Pair the phrase you have and see if the balances match what you see on your main wallet that has the password issue. Transaction history too, then you're good and you have the correct phrase.
The desktop native app also has some files in the user settings. Uninstalling the application is not enough. Here is a post that describes how to do a full uninstall on the computer: https://support.decentral.ca/hc/en-us/articles/115003643193-Performing-a-clean-re-install-of-Jaxx-Liberty-Desktop-Windows-and-Mac-
From what I see ZorinOS is based on Ubuntu (Linux). You will need to download the Linux version of Jaxx Liberty from https://jaxx.io/downloads (Click Desktop, choose Linux) and install it the standard way.
If you're using Jaxx Classic, it will no longer work and you need to move your 12 words Backup Phrase to Jaxx LIberty (get it from jaxx.io/downloads). Here's a guide on the migration: jaxx.io/migrate
>All what i did go to the JaxxDigital and back up my wallet
I suppose that required you to enter your wallet 12 words, didn't it? That's how they got you.
The only official domains for Jaxx are jaxx.io and decentral.ca. Nothing else should be trusted and we do not DM, it's mentioned on the top pinned post of this subreddit.
Thanks for your responses.
1) In 2018 downloaded the Jaxx wallet from jaxx.io and keep only ETH in it. When I decided to move my ETH to Kraken, the wallet asked me to update (understandably after 3 years) and I followed whatever prompts the software gave me. That updated the Jaxx wallet to Version 2.4.6. I've recently updated again to Version 2.5.0.
2) Although several people in the Reddit community have "hoped I haven't used the fake app" so far no one has explained how to tell fake from genuine. Is there a routine on the Jaxx website that can do that? A Google search re: "fake Jaxx apps" seems to show that these fake apps were around as early as 2018. Microsoft seems to have no problems being able to tell if you're using a bootlegged Windows or Office! After three years is there still no way for Jaxx users to check on apps' authenticity?
3) More to the point, as I can see the transaction on Etherscan, could someone explain if I can or cannot retrieve the ETH? If they are lost for ever, I shall chalk it up as one of life's lessons, and move on!
BE ALERT!
There are scammers that will try to steal your crypto assets and they have many methods in doing so:
- By having fake Jaxx apps on the mobile App Stores of the Chrome Store. ALWAYS get your official Jaxx Liberty application from jaxx.io/downloads and nowhere else.
- There are impersonators or Jaxx staff. WE WILL NEVER ASK for your 12-word Backup Phrase or your Private Keys. Anyone asking for those directly in comments, Chats etc. are not us!
- DO NOT enter your wallet security information on any website!
Hi! Though there isn't a set target, it can be anytime as we've been keeping it around for more than a year now. We would strongly advise you migrate (here's a guide: Jaxx.io/migrate). What is keeping you from doing it?
If any of you are still having issues, please reach out to our support team for help: https://jaxx.io/support
There was a small hiccup on Sunday but everything should be ok now.
Hi there, you will need to pair your Backup Phrase to the new Jaxx Liberty as the latest ZEC fork (Sapling) is only supported by Jaxx Liberty. You can download it for any platform here: https://jaxx.io/downloads.html. Thanks!
Please make use you have your 12 word backup phrase saved. Then you can go to https://jaxx.io/ and download the version for your computer or device. Once installed you might need to shut down the app and restart it. Then check your "About" page to make sure the version is 1.3.18 v3.124. Once that is all done, you should be able to ShapeShift with ZEC.
Please be sure to be on the latest version of Jaxx (e.g. 1.3.9 at the time of this message) on all platforms. You can get the latest version here: https://jaxx.io/downloads.html if it doesn't update automatically. To check the version go to MENU> About
Please be sure to update to the latest Jaxx available. I see you're on desktop so get the latest one from https://jaxx.io/downloads.html if the one you have installed didn't update directly. That should fix this issue.
Hey there. If you look at SS's website: https://shapeshift.io and click on a coin and then search for EOS you'll see that it's temporarily disabled by them. This is why the shift doesn't work currently.
I'm not getting a valid transaction here: https://shapeshift.io/txstat/1eacda91cbb7b5f17c0b1a72053b27002dad8a4cbbc9510a161c31620acce1ab
Could you reset your cache and see if the balance is restored?
I have talked to the shapeshift support. They helped me understand the problem.
When using shapeshift funds are sent to 0xA from your jaxx wallet. Shapeshift then places the exchanged funds on the withdraw address 0xC. This address is supposed to be a address inside your wallet. It has been the previous times I used the shapeshift integration. The 0xA address is located in your transaction history as the 'Send To' address.
The transaction details can be found on this site: https://shapeshift.io/txstat/0xA
{ "status":"complete", "address":"0xA", "withdraw":"0xB", "incomingCoin"9999, "incomingType":"ETH", "outgoingCoin":"999", "outgoingType":"BTC", "transaction":"0xC" }
The converted funds can be found on this site: https://blockchain.info/sv/address/0xC
The funds have indeed been transfered to 0xC. The problem is that that address is not part of my wallet. So my guess is that somehow the wrong address was selected, or the new address was forgotten to be added to my wallet. Depending on when new addresses are created.
Since Jaxx do not store the private keys on any server or something like that. My guess is that the funds are orphaned.
But I am not sure since support has not replied to my tickey
not sure what you mean by sub-$1 tradable altcoins?
Trades in Jaxx Liberty are done through Changelly. We support what they support: https://changelly.com/supported-currencies
Have you checked on the status of the exchange with Changelly?
If you have your Exchange ID, you can paste it at the end of this link to get a live status of it: https://changelly.com/transaction/
type_error, our exchange partner is Changelly, and they have established minimum transfers amount to cover the exchange rates & network fees. The minimum required amounts are displayed on their website and in our apps (prior to submitting your transaction for exchange) as well, they aren't hidden or forced.
I figured it out. I put in the extended private key that copay gave me. I had to derive the individual keys.
For others that have the same problem, this is the tool I used.
I have over $400 in BCH on Jaxx
Don't know why you think you need a BCH wallet.
You need to export the private keys from the EXISTING BCH wallet where you originally sent the BTC
Import those keys into a new BTC wallet. Don't use Jaxx.
This wallet allows importing private keys.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet
Read this first;
https://www.bitcoin.com/guides/how-to-import-and-export-bitcoin-private-keys
Back up there BCH wallet first.
Once the keys are imported to the new BTC wallet make a backup.
Make another backup of the new Bitcoin wallet after sending the BTC out of the new BTC wallet.
well why the hell haven't you excluded version 5.1 and below in playstore to prevent non-compatible devices from installing this POS ?
