Also for no particular reason aside from admiring Soyeon, here's pilates Soyeon!
I bought the album on iTunes just to get the booklet photos. :|
Loving these pictures!
Update: I don't use RES, but according to the gfycat website:
>RES integration! If you use Reddit Enhancement Suite, you can play a gfy without even leaving reddit. Just click the Play button by the link (already pushed out to Firefox, Chrome update still pending roll out).
The photographer who took this goes by rotta. Here is his instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_rotta_/
He is known for his unique use of natural lighting and overexposed settings, which creates these soft bright clean visuals in his photos. And uh, the content of his photos... I don't need to explain lol. He recently released a photobook by the way. I want to get it.
optimized gfy(html5 video) version of the gif
my 1 year of korean classes helped me find this boys
it's a pretty funny episode even if you don't speak korean
WebP is useful for replacing small animated GIFs and probably will someday.
But most of the GIFs posted here are high-resolution, high-quality GIFs that the format was never really designed for. Video encoding is still a more practical option for the type of content on this subreddit.
Also - according to the Google page:
>WebP is more CPU-intensive than GIF. Lossy WebP takes 2.2x as much decode time as GIF
It also isn't as efficient - saving about half the bandwidth compared to almost 90% or more for video compression (as gfycat demonstrates).
None of this is relevant right now anyways. Like I said - WebP isn't supported widely enough to be used here.
And I don't think gfycat video upload is working that well yet. I haven't tried uploading a video directly but I tried the direct YouTube grab thing and the quality was pretty shitty. Even a downloaded--converted to GIF--and re-converted to gfycat animation looked better.
Video upload just started last month and I don't think they have all the kinks worked out yet. I know they have something like a maximum 600px vertical limit, I think.
For instance, something like this wouldn't be supported with direct video yet:
No doubt! I have a folder if my phone with all of my favorite images I find on this subreddit, and I use Wallpaper Changer ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.wallpaperChanger ) to change to a random wallpaper whenever I unlock the phone to keep things feeling fresh.
