Just an idea. Start memorizing countries with their respective capitals, plus main port(s) as applicable. This could be a longterm project, so start with coastal countries and their the main ports. Move to landlocked countries afterwards.
Learn the industry lingo: NVOCC, LCL, BOL, etc. Add to this list main positions such as Customs Broker, etc.
Learn name of key players: Ocean carriers: Hanjin, Mearsk, OOCL, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, etc. Rail (Trains): CSX, Union Pacific, etc. Others including ground.
This list is not intended to be all-inclusive so maybe start a binder (figuratively speaking! Nowadays people use such services as https://www.notion.so ).
Good luck.
SO some suggestions if you really want to increase the likelihood. You can take online six sigma green belt courses for really cheap and thats a huge resume booster. As well, there are free online courses for things like VBA, Python and SQL. All would be huge to have on your resume and will help on the job in supply chain.
I took this six sigma course and with what I learned in college it was a breeze to pass the test: https://www.groupon.com/deals/management-and-strategy-institute-16-san-jose
Let me know if you have any other questions!!
Why are you looking for a WMS? What you should be going for is an ERP, with a wms module.
What's your budget? If you're looking for dirt cheap, I have one account that during start up stages used OFBiz from apache (it's free/open source.) I personally haven't used it or interacted with it, but anything backed by apache and that's free is worth the shot. http://ofbiz.apache.org
Well here's one I made for someone else. Its web-based so it works on "all phones" & you can demand your own custom functions on it like email-notification, signature, QR-codes /barcodes & others.... (which you specify in here or chats).
I do not I would imagine the older version I used is much cheaper and is probably the same content except for examples are probably updated.
