Hello S1mpel!
A warehouse management software is only one step... soon you want not only to know where your stock items are, but the value of the stock, manage stock moves, manage supplier invoices, shippings, customer invoices, ...
I don't know your specific business case of course, but have you considered doing one more step and moving to a full-blown ERP system? Of course, you start by using only the Inventory Management module at the beginning.
My recommandation would be to start looking at open source ERPs like Odoo - but there are many others on the market -, possibly check a few video tutorials on the tool to get an idea of its capabilities, and check with your colleagues if your company would be interested in investigating some time/money to implement such a solution.
You could check out Odoo (formerly named OpenERP). My company is currently transitioning to it, so far so good. It would probably require some customization for your company, but that's true of every ERP.
Like /u/DharmaPolice and /u/alinroc said, a pre-built SAAS solution may be more beneficial. Have you tried asking the folks over at /r/smallbusiness or /r/Entrepreneur how they do inventory management?
I saw odoo suggested somewhere and I found their pricing page [it's doing some weird geolocation locking to me, I'm not in the US].
> Bolt something onto the back of it that gives you a more capable print server.
OpenERP (now Odoo) does this now. You hook a Raspberry Pi up to the printer and it turns it into a print server.
I genuinely don't understand why more POSes don't do something like this (or, if you're going to do serial or ethernet "dumb printers", why they aren't being driven by some back-office server that the iPad talks to or something).
You can see some videos here: https://www.odoo.com/slides
And text documentation here: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/15.0/applications.html
There are also a ton of instructional/presentation videos on YouTube and a few companies doing paid training videos. If doing the free ones - just watch the ones that are on Odoo's own YouTube channel.
That publicly available documentation is not "complete", but gives a good start. Only gives you the basics.
Though it depends on what you are trying to achieve, I'd say you can expect to spend 100+ hours studying and playing with the system to really become proficient if you don't have an expert teaching you. Maybe less if you are expert in some other ERP already.
Pretty sure most of these needs can be covered by Odoo, you can take a look at the video courses that are available on odoo's website https://www.odoo.com/slides/all and see for each domain if it actually fulfills your needs. You can try to tinker around with odoo yourself at https://www.odoo.com/trial , see if you can manage to implement at least some flows before you take the plunge. If you feel like you can cover most of your business needs after that but still have some uncertainties about specific points, feel free to contact Odoo directly or a local partner to discuss your business needs more in detail. While every situation is unique, what you describe should definitely be doable within odoo.
No, just don't, use the cloud for this.
Having worked as manufacturing IT back in the old days before cloud services were a thing, the risk of on-site server failure is far higher than you think. This isn't 2000s anymore.
There's good hosted ERP software out there. Look into something like Odoo.
https://www.odoo.com/ altough its so much more than accounting itself. It's an open source ERP that can be customized to your specific needs. Granted it takes a big initial effort to get it up and running configured to your specific needs.
You could setup a wiki in minutes, but I think you're looking for an ERP instead. There are a number of free (as in beer) open source solutions. I recommend you try their demos before settling on one.
For example : https://www.odoo.com/
For manufacturing, Odoo wins as it has dedicated modules for manufacturing and has more comprehensive modules for other areas of operations (for example warehouse management).
As far as customization - these apps are not at all like django or flask. They have comprehensive developer APIs. You are quite limited to what you can customize as you are working in a restricted sandbox.
In terms of learning curve - erpnext has a more loosely coupled API (frappe) which you can use to build custom modules; it is a lot easier to get started with. Odoo (as it has a longer history) has a steeper learning curve, but the rewards are plentiful as you have the ability to map almost any business process into the system.
Frappe (API framework for erpnext) has a more modern layout - integration is done with standard Python modules that are bootstrapped using their own toolkit (called bench). It also uses Jinja which you would be familiar with if you are a Flask user.
Documentation - Odoo has very comprehensive and detailed documentation covering every aspect of the considerable framework. Frappe/Erpnext is severely lacking in documentation; just have a look at their models api documentation.
It seems that there is no more 2 users for free in the SaaS Odoo offer. Free users that already had an account will still benefit from it but new users have only a trial period.
See this thread : https://www.odoo.com/fr_FR/groups/community-59/community-13162724?mode=thread&date_begin=&date_end=
And the founder answer : https://www.odoo.com/fr_FR/groups/community-59/community-13171402?mode=&date_begin=&date_end=
Odoo has modules for almost anything. Haven't tried it myself, but I will soon. You'll just have to customise it to fit your own needs, but it looks like you'll be able to do almost anything with it.
Have a look a odoo website. They have a online calculator for the typical wage range you should expect depending on your own resume.
https://www.odoo.com/app/recruitment
I’m not working there but I stumbled on that wage calculator and I found it nifty :-)
You want to be a follower of new stock.inventory. That should do it, right?
There's this one too:
So you have a radio button to select retail/wholesale... That's a typical use-case.
Check the various @api.onchange()
in the SaleOrder class, those are called when you change the matching value in the interface. You'll need to add one to react to your new field.
You'll see that communication if you look at the network tab when you inspect the page in the browser. There's a nice video for that from the last Odoo Experience.
You can have a look at the documentation:
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/14.0/reference/cmdline.html#configuration-file
You can use the following setting in your config file:
list_db=True
Don't forget to specify the db name.
If you launch it with a command line, odoo-bin --help is your friend:
Security-related options:
--no-database-list Disable the ability to obtain or view the list of
databases. Also disable access to the database manager
and selector, so be sure to set a proper --database
parameter first
1- A customer location is a virtual location. If you ship products, stock will then be positive at customer location. Remember that every stock transfer in Odoo is a move between location A and location B. Location may or may not be virtual.
2- Updating qty on hand is equal to making an inventory adjustment. You don't do it from the same place, but it's the same action in Odoo.
3- To create a hierarchy of views.
4- No
5- Source loc = Stock, destination location = inventory adjustment location (set on the product). Qty = 1
6- On the product category
7- Yes, see point 2
8- MTO takes from stock and then re-supply starting from V13. Berfore V13 it would have been a PO for 50 units. Now it is a PO for 30 units.
MTO > take from stock if you have, otherwise, re-supply the needed units, not more.
9- FIFO
11- When the MO is confirmed. Actually a MO is composed of 2 transfers of stock, one for the FG, one for the components
12- It depends on the settings you put on the quality control
13- no idea
14- What do you mean by validated? Is it finished? If yes, then no. If not finished yet, you can update produced units / consumed units (if bom is flexible)
15- Why would you even do that?
16- nope
17- yes
18- don't remember exactly
19- no idea
And I'm gonna stop here because it clearly seems like you are trying to pass the certification.
If you need a training, contact me by PM, and I'll be glad to sell you a pack.
Hi, Odoo Community doesn't have Documents as a standard app so no you can't use the spreadsheet function.
You can compare the editions here: https://www.odoo.com/page/editions
> Can Odoo be used as Transactions Reconciliation tool?
Definitely and with the Odoo CE u will be able to automate it using xml-rpc.
Furthermore, there are people making money with FOSS programming... Thinks of canonical (developer of ubuntu) and other linux bistro offering support, think of a company like the small Belgian Odoo making a bunch of custom open source programs for people/company who don't have the intel... And still they make plenty of money while it's fully open source.
Ok - so too many for most of the free options. They normally cap out at 200-250.
https://www.odoo.com/ - has a free Inventory Module so long as that's the only module you use.
Indeed, a bad upgrade could be the cause. Can you repeat the error outside of Docker ?
As for cleaning the database, I'm a Client Solutions Developer and not part of the upgrade team, so I'm afraid this is a bit out of my area of expertise :p
I'd first check if all your custom modules are compatible with 11 (I see some of them come from the App Store, they aren't always upgraded for "new" versions).
Then what I'd do is try to create a fresh DB (no need to register it or anything, it'll expire after 30 days if it's Enterprise and you can delete it whenever) and install all your add-ons on it (Community, Enterprise and Custom), then try to reproduce the flow that lead to your traceback.
If you get it on a clean DB, you'll know the issue is somewhere in your code. If not, the issue comes from the DB.
As for how the upgrade was done, if you used the OCA scripts, it may not cover everything (I believe they only cover the Community modules). If the migration was done by a partner, you can maybe check out with them (it happens all the time to have some issues crop up after a migration. There's huge changes sometimes between versions for some modules, which make it difficult to adapt some things). If it was done by Odoo, you should have had email contact with somebody from the Upgrade Team and part of the process is to make sure all your workflows work, so I'd advise you to re-contact them, in that case.
There's also the support team. You can submit a ticket here: https://www.odoo.com/help
The page also had some phone numbers if you want to reach our various support departments, who are probably more equipped to deal with your issue than I am :)
Most systems accomplish this via both a web server and a small "plug-in" installed on machines. When the webpage requests a print, your web server sends the command to the plug-in. This is exactly what Odoo does: https://www.odoo.com/apps/modules/8.0/base_report_to_printer/
I am not sure what you are trying to do here. But with the GUI it is not possible to filter on relation fields. If you write a custom filter you could do something like this:
[("picking_ids.name", "=", "Something")]
You might be interested in this documentation.
If python ERP systems are you thing have a look at odoo.
Installing the package on debian was easy, also has windows and centos support.
You're going to get a better response in /r/odoo or the Odoo help forum.
This doesn't sound like an issue related to your Synology NAS, except for the possibility that the Synology package has a non-standard directory structure or permissions that are causing issues.
Personally we don't want to have to interpret our data for tax purposes, because we don't understand the nuances of tax law, we do web/software development primarily, with a little general business consulting on the side so we don't have very many complicated income streams.
However, I definitely get the desire to what to know the ebbs and flow of your money situation.
What you might look at based on your last statement as the accounting being the foundation is to look for an actual ERP and not just an accounting software posing as one. With as complicated as your business is with the various dropships, inventory, etc. I would recommend Odoo (https://www.odoo.com/)
Odoo is stupid simple to use and setup, they have a cloud based SaaS and they're really helpful when getting things moving.
I would strongly encourage you to do a short demo with them and see if it's something that would fit your needs. The power it holds would be exactly what your looking for in a business management suite that's more than accounting software.
full disclosure: we're not paid by odoo. We've worked with a couple companies doing implementations and like it far better than any other ERP on the market (including NetSuite) and it's far more affordable.
In addition to the official developer's documention [1], you might want to start here: http://thierry-godin.developpez.com/openerp/tutorial-module-creation-pos-modification-english-version/
I would recommend Odoo (previously known as OpenERP). It's requires some effort to get passed the starting barrier, but the beauty is that it will do more than just accounting if you want it (or in the future). For example, last year I added the stock, crm and sales modules as well on top of the accouting that i've been running for over a year. So it can grow with your business.
It's a web application so you can eighter buy hosting or host it yourself locally for free (requires some technical skills, but lots of reading material should be available).
I've been using Odoo for a number of reasons:
It's open source and runs on my web server.
There are tons of free community plug-ins that provide extra functionality.
It includes a website builder (Twitter's Bootstrap) and a customer portal where they can view and pay invoices online.
While it can be tricky to get set up, the accounting and reporting systems are quite thorough and configurable.
I'm using PayPal to process my credit card transactions ATM, and it integrates with PP out-of-the-box.
Not sure how close to the starting point you mean by beginners, but I'll give you my initial resources when I first started using odoo for one of my clients.
To Install (note: replace openerp with odoo in the commands): https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/how-to-install-openerp-v7-0-on-ubuntu-12-04-from-launchpad-sources-2562
The developer method: look at Ahmet Altinisik's response, very detailed and insightful
The package method: look at patrick's response, short, sweet, and to the point.
Both methods will get odoo up and running the base version, difference will be in maintenance and customization moving forward, which way works for you is completely subjective IMHO.
To get a feeling for the core features, structure, formatting, customizations, etc. I would recommend the following:
Book: Working with OpenERP by Greg Moss - Touches on most of the core features and lightly touches on customization
Book: Financial Accounting with Odoo by Greg Mader - Have not read it, but from what've read/heard it's a great reference point for understanding the accounting modules in-depth, but do not confuse it for a book to teach you accounting in general.
Google-fu, once you get a feel for the software, it'll become easier to find answers to questions with keywords or key phrases.
Also, in case you'd like to install in CentOS instead of Ubuntu: https://techjourney.net/install-odoo-8-openerp-in-centos-red-hat-enterprise-linux/
I have only installed it on Ubuntu and CentOS myself, but I've heard it can be installed in OpenSUSE, have not found/tried that combination as of yet
Apologies on the formatting, first post/comment.
You might check out whether https://www.odoo.com/ (used to be openerp) could fill some of that gap. It's an open source solution so you can install components yourself in your Infrastructure or you can subscribe for a cloud solution.
You're looking for a category of software called 'inventory managment'. Here's a google search for open source inventory managment software, https://www.google.com/search?es_sm=91&q=open+source+inventory+management&oq=open+source+inventory+ma&gs_l=serp.3.0.0i67j0l9.1484.2625.0.4409.5.3.1.1.2.0.103.243.2j1.3.0.msedr...0...1c.1.62.serp..1.4.179.Bux-HeJq9Og
This is one of the top hits and looks like a good place to start. https://www.odoo.com/page/warehouse
In short:
If you host it yourself, you only need a contract if you want to use their upgrade service (between mayor versions) or user their bugfixing.
If you have 3 users and use a lot of apps in the saas solution, you might have to pay more.. Depends on the apps you use. For more information, see the pricing page, or the blogpost
I bet a properly motivated person could get Odoo to do most of this stuff. I’ve only ever looked at it for billing, but it has a ton of modules available and there seem to be a number of consultants who customize it for all kinds of things.
Odoo supports BOM and you can either pay for it or set up a local instance for free (Open Source) if you have the technical ability.
Just from experience:
There is Odoo, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system which I haven’t tried: https://www.odoo.com/
[May do down the line, let me know if you do.]
Mint or Quickbooks are useful apps for accounting. Notion, Trello, Asana or Slack are good project and business management tools.
I use Notion and Quickbooks (and MS/Google Suite) respectively. There’s a learning curve. It’s good to have an awareness of the process for when you delegate or outsource.
Look for local as well as international business management and accounting agencies to hire on a contract basis first, not into employment.
Fiverr search Online Business Manager, or Operations Manager, and compare.
First of all, you’re awesome, appreciate you creating a new account and your reply! I already did all these steps. It’s the price extra for values that is the real pain for me since my database are for restaurant chain and every item have multiple add ons. The problem continues with Odoo not able to support multiple choices for attributes so for each attribute I have to create the values “no cheese” “cheese” for example. What I did find is a guide on how to import the ‘price extra’ for attribute values. It’s actually works well but not much of a help for me since it’ll be more time consuming doing this for my case. It might help someone else!
https://www.odoo.com/nl_NL/forum/help-1/how-to-import-value-price-extra-field-in-v15-194548
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/15.0/developer/howtos/backend.html
If you look in the addons folder, all the content are modules. account, contacts, crm, mrp, product, etal. Have a look at l10n_us for instance.
Basically, any folder in there with __init__.py
and __manifest__.py
is detected as an Odoo module. It can be as small as a single xml file to modify a view, or a single py file extending a model.
You'd need to create a module, I don't think you can do it from the interface.
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/15.0/developer/howtos/backend.html#onchange
If you can't add modules, I suggest you create a x_warning field and use your automation to fill it as required. Then you only have to display it somewhere in the form.
Not familiar with Odoo, but standard procedure would be to fork their repo ( https://github.com/odoo/odoo ), make modifications, and submit pull requests, or simply writing your own third party modules. They actually have a developer guide.
Get the code from github, not some container... at least you will know it's up to date.
> platform to use, a lifetime license would be nice
Online and lifetime license are not compatible.
I use QuickBooks online, it does the job, it integrated with all the online banks/credit cards. You can make the argument that it's expensive but the time saved justifies the higher price.
If you're really starting up a spreadsheet would do to record expenses until you have some revenue.
You could also consider open-source alternatives like https://www.odoo.com/, it's kind of an overkill but you could just use the accounting system.
> Does anyone have a suggestion for a very basic CRM
To do the functions that you've described you need a ERP or an Accounting System. QuickBook online can do that.
> ... that can import PDF files for logging purposes without manually inputting each item?
None off the shelf, this is going to be a custom customization job or outsource the work
Check out https://www.odoo.com/
Prior to adding the report to your dashboard you will want to set up a dynamic filter on the view you want to later add to the dashboard. This forum post explains how to set this up.
Go to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gC7qbF24KSgepRugavh89Atop07RJCftEHwDXAioREY/edit?usp=sharing
Follow step 1 to establish the connection. (the rest of the steps were for an internal project)
Just look at the formula in the cells of column I for an example of the function syntax. There is an oe_browse() function and a oe_read_group() function. Their syntax are here: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/15.0/applications/sales/crm/performance/google_spreadsheets.html
Are you working on something that manages inventory? Is so, a dedicated software such as https://www.odoo.com/app/inventory maybe more what you need since you are tracking orders from suppliers and keeping tabs on changes. But maybe you already have something in WP that works great, it's not really clear what's happening, I'm just making assumptions.
Hi there,
We've added quite a lot of new features to the PoS in v15 (out since yesterday). Feel free to check out the Odoo Experience & some of the videos tackling this topic (just search for restaurant, or PoS): https://www.odoo.com/event/odoo-experience-2021-2847/agenda
Hi, I have worked at the top-level management of a rapidly growing courier company for few years and I can understand your pain points here.
It sounds like you need a solid technology infrastructure to streamline your operations, make them efficient, transparent, and ultimately more profitable. I would like to make few suggestions below and let me know if you need more assistance I will be more than glad to help.

1- Take a look at Odoo this suite is very affordable and it will serve your ERP as well as CRM goals. Its amazing it does everything you need to do at the back office and it has tons of integrations with so many applications.
2- for your fleet management, don't settle for less than Samsara , they are the best out there and you can rely on their competence. This will save you tons of money in cost and will also helo you optimize the operations.
3- This solution is also very helpful when it comes to operations that you repeat or even your drivers. So whatever you do repetitively and want to ensure that it is done in the same standards every time and you want to monitor the progress, I highly suggest that you consider this Checklist solution.

>Jacque believed the Earth had more than enough resources where this wouldn’t even be a problem. If any material is lacking, for example, the computer would ask material scientists and chemists around the world to investigate new alternate materials.
If we had mountains of resources for everyone, we wouldn't need such ideas, since we could take them off the ground, you know?
And in that case, it's just giving up resources willy-nilly to the first one who asks, and then asking for scientific magic when it runs out.
It's incredibly inefficient.
>He also didn’t just want to run on his own theory here so that’s why we need to conduct a survey of all of the world’s resources so we can know exactly what we have, where we have it, and base decisions around that.
Then you can't claim that an RBE would give us way this super high standard of living, if you aren't sure the planet even has the needed resources for a decent one.
Also, given Fresco designed all of his cities and machines, he should have been able to tell us a rough estimate of how much steel/glass/land/food/etc.
>I believe, for example, if platinum is found to be lacking, the computer will be able to take in all ideas anybody would like to submit around the world on how to solve the problem, such as asteroid mining if need be.
Then where is the decision-making involved?
Seriously, for all his talk of super-computers and advanced cybernetics, what Fresco proposed could be done through a second-hand server and a bog-standard inventory management system(take Odoo for an open-source one, so you dont even have to pay money), but instead of a notification to refill stock, you send a call to change some material specs.
It's just to get the real error location instead of in the "minified" web.assets_common.js. Check web/views/webclient_templates.xml for some of its content.
If the error is gone, maybe it got re-minified correctly.
This video is worth a thousand words:
ir.attachment
does that. To get there, start with that video and read the doc.
Hello :)
I would suggest you check this page before finding your next partner: https://www.odoo.com/partners
You can check the partner's references there. Also, ask about their implementation methodology. I work for a gold partner in Switzerland (I basically built the team here :D) and we strictly follow Odoo implementation guide (https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/14.0/getting\_started/documentation.html)
To summarize :
- always prioritize standard features over development
- Train the trainer
- Agile implementation
Hope this helps :)
How many customers, which industry/profession are you in?
You can find multiple CRM tools these days. And specialized CRM for your own industry/profession.
You can get started with opens source CRM - https://www.odoo.com/
Activating dev mode on runbot and checking the whole settings / technical menu. It's a good way to revise what you learned through the tutorial.
Yes, you create a new module and add your xml file to the __manifest__.py
.
You can use odoo-bin scaffold
to create the base structure. Read the tutorial for Odoo.sh and adapt it.
He actually can:
https://www.odoo.com/fr_FR/forum/aide-1/how-to-uninstall-a-module-from-command-line-36076
but probably a waste of time if it's on dev environment.
And he probably will need it on production later on his career.
Imagine this scenario:
You have a module named "acccount_extra" and you changed its name to "account_custom" you use a fancy tool (devops) that deletes the old contents and replace them with new ones on production releases.
You forget to remove the old module before the release ! Now endless errors on the logs.
I think you have an XY problem. I don't think you need to write your own software. Lots of businesses have to calculate prices based on formulas of prices of inputs. Wordpress is the wrong class of software too. I think you want an ERP. Check out odoo.
If that doesn't fit your needs and you still want to code something up, you probably want to learn about databases and stop thinking in terms of spreadsheets. Spreadsheets are just a tool, they're not part of the problem statement.
Don't worry, I have many more years and I still have a weak grasp of the client side. Have you watched the OWL framework? https://www.odoo.com/event/odoo-experience-2020-2020-09-30-2020-10-01-2622/track/owl-the-new-odoo-ui-framework-3845
I'd say point_of_sale
is a good entry point, its behavior is much simpler than the whole widget circus and you still have renderer/controller.
Also, https://github.com/odoo/odoo/issues/4547 to put breakpoint in the JS-compiled qweb (those in static/src/xml).
Why is it hard to find good drivers? Because 95% of good drivers already found a good carrier 2.5% of them fall into your “cannot afford” and 2.5% of them are looking but cannot find you.
If you cannot afford a all in one system at the moment. I would at least look into Fog Line Software to help you track your finances or at least make a few spreadsheets and create checklists, to do lists and would definitely recommend a bookkeeping software or service. Odoo is free
Keep your requirements rather strict and you’ll be able to find a good driver. It will take some time.
I run an Odoo v13 instance on Digital Ocean (4 vCPU, 8GB RAM, 80GB HDD) with 9 employees simultaneously on it on average, and serve up around 200,000 web pages (mostly /shop and /blog) a month. No issues so far with "workers=9".
Divide that in half (4 or 5 workers each) and I'm sure you'll be able to handle your scenario.
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/14.0/setup/deploy.html#worker-number-calculation Scroll to "Worker number calculation" to see how to calculate workers and memory.
Also, are you running one or two database servers or using a separate DB server?
Two DB servers would take more RAM, as Postgres loves to use as much memory as it can get it's hands on. I would think you can get away with just the one (assuming the Odoo DB names are different).
Depending on how convoluted your ecommerce options are (we sell highly configurable products so our variants are in the thousands per item) you might have some responsiveness issues in /shop, but that's not a worker issue, that's an Odoo saying "Give me 10,000,000 variants worth of info so I can create the filters for you... oh, and give me a literal minute or three to get it all sorted out".
I think Odoo API Docs will work well for you https://www.odoo.com/documentation/14.0/webservices/odoo.html
I tried some of the ready Django packages out there and nothing really helped the way I needed them.
you can search again, but I suggest working directly with the API.
didn't gotcha ... https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/odoo-13-dynamic-values-in-selection-field-166225 hey i found this link.
It has been done before and most of the time it has been done pretty badly. You are much better off looking at one of the many previous attempts. Have a look at www.odoo.com for some well developed software.
This reference may be of help: https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/overwrite-write-method-many2many-102545
I know it's for many2many, but the syntax still applies. Be sure though that when you're writing to a one2many that you're writing record.id to the corresponding linked field.

The new JS framework:
You can visit their CI website.
Sounds like some kind of "4GL" kind of thing. It was popular to have an integrated language and database to make vertical systems like ERPs back in the '80s and '90s. I used to support a system built on Progress app/database 20 years ago.
But the world has moved on to web frameworks like Rails and Django. No more proprietary languages, less database lock-in.
I would recommend against something built on proprietary systems like that. If you're looking for an ERP, I would look at https://www.odoo.com.
It sounds like you might be looking for basic enterprise resource planning software (ERP). Take a look at Odoo. I haven't used it myself but there's an open source community edition and I've heard good things. If you need support or want to go SaaS, I think those options exist too. https://www.odoo.com/
A guide to implement your mail servers using gmail is effective as the gmail mail servers are not black listed like most home based isp IP addresses are.

Have a look at https://github.com/OCA/partner-contact/blob/13.0/partner_contact_personal_information_page/views/res_partner.xml,
It's a simple change and should show you what scaffolding you need.
Also, read https://www.odoo.com/documentation/14.0/howtos/backend.html#view-inheritance
Odoo has help - in the community forums at Odoo.com - https://www.odoo.com/page/community
Also a number of Odoo help groups are present in Facebook.
The odoo website has good documentation and tutorials. I would start there. I am an odoo developer for my current company. If you have any questions you can pm me. I consult also.
odoo can be selfhosted and free (if you just use basic plugins) if you stick to the community edition :
https://www.odoo.com/fr_FR/page/download
(sorry it redirected to french page ... just change fr_FR to something else)
e-commerce basic functionnalities are available but if you want to link to amazon, ebay, paypal or else : $$$
Hey man, just go ahead and submit the ticket on https://www.odoo.com/help copy and paste the error, its a common error with people on v 14 they’ll fix it within a couple days if you have a subscription
Because of type=object, it calls action_view_tasks()
in project/models/project.py which adds some context to the action project.act_project_project_2_project_task_all.
The other line directly calls portal.portal_share_action, the %d converts the external id into the actual database id.
You want to replace the object call by an action call as in the second case. You should do that through a view extension and not directly modify this xml. You can create the new view from the technical interface. Look at the code of module sale_margin, it's small enough that you should understand how to create your view.
And I really suggest you watch https://www.odoo.com/event/odoo-experience-2020-2020-09-30-2020-10-01-2622/track/why-browser-debugger-is-a-developer-s-best-friend-3850.
“.. harder to keep track of when a client need to pay..”
Before dive into any ‘crm solutions’, maybe you need a solid internal business work-flow. If possible, a dedicated person for invoicing/collections 👍🏻
I am not familiar with the functionalities of any 3rd party community accounting apps however when it comes down to whether or not community or enterprise is the right fit it's important to dissect your requirements a bit further.
While it is true that enterprise costs more at face value what is quite often missed are the hidden costs associated with a self hosted solution.
Here is an excellent blog post going over different hosting solutions: https://www.odoo.com/blog/business-hacks-1/post/how-to-choose-your-hosting-type-560
Additionally here is an image I use to train employees on the cost variance between the two: https://www.peoplehr.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/12.png
Do you have any particular requirements you need out of your next accounting software?
How do I download community edition? When I go to what I think is the download page if I select more than 1 module it says I have to pay even when both modules have checks in the community edition https://www.odoo.com/trial
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/13.0/setup/install.html#setup-install-source
Enterprise main pull is migrating your data to the next version, the rest depends on your needs. Have a look at https://github.com/OCA to see if what you are missing has been developped by the community.
What does this have anything to do with computer science? r/odoo exists. How on earth do you expect people to help you with this when you didn't even state what operating system you are using? Please read this, if it doesn't help, provide detailed questions. https://www.odoo.com/documentation/13.0/reference/cmdline.html
Sounds like you are looking for an ERP. This is one of the most commons kinds of software and is a catch-all term for what basically every company runs on. In 2020 there is almost no reason to develop one from scratch unless you want to cause yourself a ton of headaches.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterprise_resource_planning
I don't know much about which are most popular for small business, but a quick Google search tells me a lot of people suggest this one:
I'm currently looking at two.
Odoo (www.odoo.com)
Acumatica (https://www.acumatica.com)
Odoo (used to be OpenERP) is open source coded in python. It is very cheap and very popular in the developing world. The problem is that because it is so cheap it will be difficult for me to make a living from it in the developed world. Also suffers from a rather un-slick (but very competent and flexible) look and feel.
I'm just getting my feet wet with Acumatica. It is coded in C# and feels like what the outcome of Project Green should have been - living and breathing the Micorosoft environment.
Like I say - these are both very nice products and far more modern than NAV/BC or AX - but neither of them have market share or brand recognition. This is the state of the ERP market.
If you come across other interesting products I would like to hear about them.
Hi, think i found what i need here
https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/13.0/discuss/advanced/email_template.html

Place Holders they appear to be called.
Check Odoo. It is ERP and has many features. If you want to setup or customize then I can help with that. Capex and Opex are different plans I charge. Capex is fixed cost project while in case of Opex I charge less initially but charge some recurring amount for its maintenance.
Check out Odoo https://www.odoo.com/ Its is open source and written in python. There are e-commerce, inventory management, warehouse management, accounting, and a website front end.
https://www.odoo.com/page/flectra-vs-odoo-flectrahq-enterprise
Flectra is a fork of Odoo Community, and one of its initial goals was apparently to copy many features from Odoo Enterprise. In the early months of its existence, significant cases of copyright infringements of Odoo Enterprise were detected in the copied features inside Flectra. Its authors have a history of repeatedly copying and obfuscating proprietary code.
In Dec 2017, GitHub executed a DMCA takedown of the Flectra repository, and the Commerce Court of Ahmedabad issued an injunction order requesting Tech Receptives to stop all activities involving Odoo Enterprise.
At Odoo, we solve dozens of reported infringements per year by just talking to the developers (usually to defend community modules authors). But after several attempts to solve the issue with Tech Receptives, the Flectra developers continued to infringe copyright and licenses. Our ultimate recourse was to initiate a legal action (unfortunately); the first one in the history of Odoo.
Maybe you can customize Odoo for your needs. I use Odoo for my simple sale stuff
https://www.odoo.com/page/point-of-sale-restaurant
https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/10.0/website_pos_online_menu/
If you're looking for something that can work for a team, and have some technical ability, I would look at Odoo. They have a free, open source "Community Edition"
There are tons of online resources & videos on how to install and setup.
Mmmm nop :s en this case the css don't work anithing the PDF is generate out css styles another thing is some div whit class col don't appear in the PDF generate but in view HTML look fine, thanks for your answer , I find this solution but I don't have obuntu local installation to try to do test :'( y only test my code in odoo.sh https://www.odoo.com/es_ES/forum/ayuda-1/question/custom-qweb-report-with-css-not-working-119382#
If you need quality and variations in the theme design, then I'd suggest you to check Odoo Theme Kinetik.
I've used the theme for my sports business. You can check it here- https://www.odoo.com/apps/themes/12.0/ks_theme_kinetik/
The reasons for which I love this theme:
There are opensource CRM and ERP systems out there. To be honest this is outside of my knowledge (I can't even remember what ERP stands for), I've not used any of them but if you search Google you will find them. A quick search brings up https://www.odoo.com/
