I just got the Monin kit. This isn’t something I’d usually buy, since I drink my Nespresso unsweetened. But I saw the deal on the megathread (MONIN3) for a free pack of the syrups with sleeves. Just tried the vanilla syrup with a flat white over ice. It’s lovely. Here’s what I did:
In a cocktail jigger: pour 1/2 oz vanilla syrup, pull flat white espresso shot over syrup. Stir to combine. In glass: fill with ice. Pour in desired milk amount. Pour sweetened shot over milk, and stir.
I’d recommend it, especially for free.
Edit: FYI they’re super cheap on Amazon for a giant bottle literally 15 times bigger than these. Lol.
It's a bit early in the UK for dirty talk so I'll keep it PG.
Pod in, espresso setting. Pour milk into the aeroccino to the lowest fill line. I have the milk frother attachment, (i'll find the link on Amazon for the exact one) and press the button once so it flows red. Pour the milk on top of the espresso, using a spoon to hold back the foam. Once happy with how full the glass is, allow the foam to land on top.
Sit back, relax and enjoy a particularly special coffee.

I’ve always been a huge nespresso fan so I decided to make the nesprecipes app to help the community and guide them to make the perfect shot in the easiest and smoothest possible way.

Honestly, get double-walled glass mugs instead. They’re much better for temperature control. (Downsides: more fragile.) You can make Nespresso OL espresso capsules in the Wacaco Minipresso NS with a source of boiling water.
Alternatively, the original version works on ground espresso rather than capsules. You could carry a small can of ground espresso to use with that one and save a bunch of money.
If you are not set on capsules consider an AeroPress or a pour over filter holder that sits on a mug. Of all these portable options the last one seemed to me easiest to clean and care for.
Assuming it's the standard Creatista, it should've come with a sample pack. Do you have a pic of the box?
Amazon lists it as an inclusion.
According to the FAQ on the Amazon ordering page for the Starbucks capsules, these can be recycled with Nespresso pods.. Scroll down for the FAQ

This is a game changer. I brew into a mug, pour in the hyperchiller and pour over a little ice after it’s cooled. Highly recommend.

Of course! I used this recipe and it turned out perfect! I used "Option 1"
The Pantai Thai Tea Mix is very important to make it how you get it in the restaurants. I found it at the local Asian Market and it was $5 for 16 ounces, which yields about 1 gallon of the tea after brewing. Make sure whatever you store your tea in (if it's plastic), you won't mind it having a slight orange hue to it after. The sugar being brewed in helps a lot too, no having to mess with condensed milk or anything like that. Finally I just use half and half for that extra luxurious texture and add it to taste. It tastes just like I went and grabbed some pad thai and brought home a large pitcher of their mix!
Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

As everyone else has said Oatly Barista is definitely the best for frothing. I also do Planet Oatmilk with a little bit of Silk "froth like a boss" creamer and that gets decently bubbly but not truly frothy.
Here it is.
Biscoff cookies go amazingly well with coffee. 3 of these with an evening coffee is superb. I first tried them on a flight and I've been buying them for coffee ever since
The collective experience with reusability for Nespresso Vertuo is mostly negative. Cleaning, filling, capping seems to get tedious quickly and the adhesive doesn’t always stick. Obtaining used capsules could be the main problem for you and I only have one suggestion: find a local retailer that offers Nespresso demonstrations and ask them for the used capsules. There are packages of foil caps for the Vertuo available on amazon. You don’t need to remove the barcodering, just replace the foil cap.
The Creatista is currently on sale that can be purchased for less than lattissima on amazon
Breville Nespresso Creatista Single Serve Espresso Machine with Milk Auto Steam Wand, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XKHDQ4H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ImtdCb8WAP7BG
Yeah for sure. I wouldn’t have bought these for $5 each ever. But since they were free and I was ordering capsules.....!
Edit: yeah FYI for anyone interested... 750 ml is $11 on Amazon.
They are double wall insulated glasses I got on Amazon... I love them. I want to get the slightly larger version too!
I’m not OP, but I was looking at some on Amazon earlier and it looks just like this one!
Amazon (vote #3)
We bought two of these: https://www.amazon.com/HiveNets-Dispenser-Compatible-Nespresso-Vertuoline/dp/B07PKSL6F5/
I do like it. Was 89€ and came with 250 free pods lol. Paid for itself.

Although I bought it on sale for 45€ I think.
Personally I would have a regular latte or cappuccino at a cafe pretty much every day- with the ability to refill the pods i can make my own espresso at home (and I happen to have been in the market for a single porta filter espresso machine).
Anyway- the price of refilling the pods are much less than buying an espresso machine. And I use and other family members use about 1-2 a day per person so I would say that it’s a good value for me at least.
I can recommend refilling the pods with espresso ground lavazza, cafe bustello, or any other with a kit on Amazon: RECAPS Filling Tool Holder Tamper Kit Compatible with Vertuoline Coffee Pods(1 Tamper and 1 Holder and 30 Lids) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085RC2LCV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_2ARYT4V7TWW8MEQ39JBT

I have a few varieties of the Bodum equivalents of these.
https://smile.amazon.com/Bodum-Pavina-Double-Wall-Insulate-Ounces/dp/B00BXDZSSC/
Occasionally find them in the US at Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Home Goods on sale, or even on annual close-out at Peets. Also have some of the shot glasses with the silicone ring for insulation.
Still wish Nespresso had offered their original boutique plastic sample cups for sale. I still have a couple dozen of those (espresso, cappuccino, and vertuo sizes) in the pantry.
Fyi, the monitor stand was this. Believe it or not it was on sale for $3.41 after tax. After a $6.40 coupon and another $6.40 saving. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CVSRR52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_PK6ACS084YTYXCQVVTR0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I don’t think so because of the round shape of the vertuoline capsules. But there’s a ton of carousel and other styles on Amazon for Nespresso: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087ZPTTJX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XE1CVG86YYTT57YMTGJB

eBay. I’ve almost got an essenza mini for $15. Amazon also has good like new/good machines for around $80. I got my Mom one and it came in perfect condition.

https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Rechargeable-Cappuccino-Chocolate-Stainless/dp/B082NZDDZZ
I like this one a lot. I use it daily because I’m too lazy to wash my aeroccino everyday. It’s super convenient that’s it’s rechargeable. I even use the milk pitcher to brew and chill espresso for iced lattes.
These look similar
I can’t find the exact one I bought on Amazon anymore. The brand was AVEX and it is a double-walled stainless steel 20oz travel mug. Technically for beer as it has a bottle opener on the bottom. It’s just the right size to hold the filter basket and at just the right height. Our mug is 6.5 inches tall and the mouth is 3.5 inches in diameter.
I think Coleman and others make similar - this one looks almost identical: https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Insulated-Stainless-Steel-Tumbler/dp/B08TP3CP5L. My husband uses the mug instead of a pot to brew into daily, unless he’s brewing for a crowd. It’s just the right amount of coffee and one less thing to wash!
If you have a lot of them (which you do!), I highly recommend this one by Flagship. Obviously it takes up a bit of vertical space, but it holds entire sleeves, which I love.

I recently got this great silicone dog food mat to protect my black granite counter. They come in multiple sizes and colors. There are quite a few brands but I like this one because the base is smooth (not textured) and the sides are moderately high and straight rather than angled.
This size (18x24 inches) fits my area perfectly. The syrups fit nicely on the side and the recycling bag has room way in the back.
I hang a towel on a clip for wiping the steam wand and general cleanup.
It's from a brand on Amazon called Flagship. Each tray holds 20 pods and they sell them in tiers of 3/4/5. I haven't been able to find any other clones on the market.
What's weird is that they keep changing their listing to a different tier. Like the one I linked above is what I ordered (4-Tier) but the seller swapped it with a 5-Tier. The reviews show it was once a 3-Tier listing. wtf??
We use Oatsome Batista, it taste great and foams nicely. We found it in the cereal section with the non refrigerated non dairy milks.
https://www.amazon.com/Oatsome-Organic-Drink-Count-Barista/dp/B086PJTNDK
Indeed, I am in Canada. I see this Guittard product on Amazon.ca (sold by a 3rd party seller). Have you tried it, by any chance?
I'll see if I can find those other brands, too. Thanks again! 😃
Get them on amazon. Even cheaper. Currently on a black Friday deal. £26 for 12 sleeves if you do subscribe and save. £29 one off. Under £2.50 per sleeve. 1 of them is a decaf though.
Those are my foil caps.
Also got this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SH4VMF7/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 as my tamper. Super cool and heavy duty.
And this for holding the pods - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SMN2C5S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The holder is great as it keeps the pods steady while filling and not spilling. Then you put the foil on and then use the top part of the cap to seal and fold the foil over.
I bought this one off Amazon for $25 here. It fits 14 Alto XL pods and I can squeeze 15 espresso pods in each large layer. I was storing randoms at the small drawers at the top (fits about 4-5) but we found a better use for them to store Crystal Light packets.
FYI, in 2019 I tried these L'or (5 varieties) capsules from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0731K173Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And I tried just 1 capsule of each box and just could not stand it, and couldn't drink them again. So I ended up giving them to a co-worker for a much reduced cost.
I’m in Korea so I ordered them off of a local site, Gmarket. But I looked on Amazon, and they have the same bundle of different flavored capsules that I got.
We have the Creatista, and recently purchased it on Amazon for $227. The normal model is currently unavailable from Amazon, but the Creatista Uno is currently on sale for $225.

(I don't know what the hell's going on with those Amazon prices, though.)
May I suggest this item off of Amazon. It holds four sleeves and fits underneath most machines. This is specifically for Vertuoline though.
I will admit this is an obscure option, but how about never descaling the machine? You may have to if you have been running tap water through it for a while. I have been running nothing but purified water since I first turned mine on. I plan on never descaling my machine. I use this ZeroWater pitcher to clean my tap water. I swear by it. It beat Brita and others hands-down. I recommend one if it is available in Germany.
You'll need something like this to remove the rancid coffee oil and buildup in brew unit/waffle disk/spout.
https://www.amazon.com/Caffenu-Nespresso-Cleaning-Capsules/dp/B0166OKOUO
I used these cleaning capsules I bought from Amazon when I scored a similar machine from a thrift store. I also used the descaling solution and wiped the whole thing down.
Sorry, first time posting. I don't know how to attach a pic here.

Choose wisely!
This is very similar to what we are using. Holds 42 and works well. Satisfies the OCD too.
That bottle in the back looks like the stuff I add to my gas tank. Enjoy your machine.
Le Creuset (the expensive Dutch oven people) make some nice tassimo cups, if you don't have any. They can be found at discount and come in many colors. This is the kind of thing I'm talking about, but really- shop around.
I make a delicious cocoa-based chocolate mocha. I use one heaping teaspoon of Guittard Rouge Cocoa Powder, which is **absolutely delicious** (it’s a US product sold at stores like World Market or [Amazon]( https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0049BJG8I/ref=cm\_sw\_r\_oth\_api\_glt\_i\_G39EAHZ1X1SJPDWWWYGB)).
I put in a flavored syrup (peppermint for the winter) or a bit less than a teaspoon of sugar (I don’t like it too sweet), and a little water or cold milk to mix into a paste. Then I extract an espresso or two into it and fill with steamed or frothed milk and stir to mix. I put it into the microwave for 30 seconds to restore the heat and raise the foam after mixing.
You can also make a mocha with thin or chopped chocolate or a sauce that melts into the espresso.
P.S. this is a great way to cover up the flavor of espresso or lungo pods you don't care for.
[Making your own easy syrups]( https://www.reddit.com/r/nespresso/comments/o940c0/simple\_guide\_to\_making\_your\_own\_simple\_coffee/)
It’ll work fine with the right downconverter. You have to find out the wattage pull to size the converter. I looked online and it looks like it pulls 1500W. The US is 110v at 60Hz and EU is 220V at 50Hz. Amazon has a 2000W converter for $109 I found with a quick search. You may find cheaper elsewhere. https://www.amazon.com/Converter-Output-Appliance-Europe-Quantity/dp/B08SW9PD28/
Actually a lot of companies sell them by labeling it as their own. They’re all the same and they all work. We have two and man…the sticky thing in the bottom just gets covered with fruit flies, gnats, etc
I've found other pricing to not be much lower. The pods at target are 6.49 for the target brand and 7.39 for Peet's.
Also I picked nespresso for the aluminum pods, some of the cheaper pods are plastic, and can't go in the recycling bag.
These are some of my favorites, but the pods are plastic.
Alto Grande Super Premium... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072HVNQ6Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Recaps and a tamper.
I save a few of my used pods, clean them out and cut out the old foil. Then using an espresso ground coffee (choose your fav brand). I put it in and weigh it out to 16grams (the weight of espresso pods for coffee). Tamp, and seal it. Saves me a ton of money and coffee turns out pretty decently too.
I didn't need the milk frother so got this for $120

Just expensive espresso Nespresso.....
Just not from Nespresso. You too can buy stuff and resell on Amazon ...
And here's the link:
For those that actually want to purchase it. Would have been nice if the OP included that.
They're expensive but this looks exactly like my jug with the two dents on the side and the way the spout and handle look.
Check out this picture. https://www.amazon.com/Nespresso-Espresso-DeLonghi-Aeroccino-Aluminum/dp/B01M715YU0?th=1
We got a Breville Original Nespresso (not Vertuo line) and we are obsessed with it! My friends have one as well and they've had it for years. We had family over a few months ago and they tried it out at our house - now, all 5 families have their own machine. 😂
I prefer the original line because there's more of a selection for pods, plus they're significantly cheaper. This is the one we have: Breville Mini It has amazing reviews and most people say it's lasted them for years. Either way, good luck and happy espresso making!
The one linked above was the one I ordered that was slightly loose.
This one without the metal ring might fit better for me. Depends on how "old" your Aeroccino is perhaps?
Why not just buy a couple of stackable capsule trays and put the machine on top?
Keep the drip tray flipped up, and you now have the height needed for your tall mug and capsules stored in nice slide out trays. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Nespresso-Storage-Capsule-Capacity/dp/B010RLCH2U
Have a friend that knows how (not implying you don't, just assuming since you didn't do this first) open the machine, cut the cord and require, or cut the cord and put on a new plug. Can cut to length, and get one that lays flat.
I use these ones. They also sell a kit with a holder, tamper, and measuring spoon but I just use a tablespoon and shot glass. Peel off the original lid, clean it out and dry it, and refill.
I use whatever coffee I like, just make sure it is ground fine or you run it through your own grinder for 5-10 seconds for best results.

I have an OL machine, which people seem to be saying that they mold less, so that might help, but I always empty my used pods into a large mesh pencil holder (like this, but I have a larger one) that I keep next to my machine and then once that is full, I dump them into the recycle bag. It has completely solved my mold issue.
If you buy the pods from them once, save them and then buy your own coffee and make your own pods. There’s a thing on Amazon that has the aluminum foil wraps. You can buy the kit and then after just get the lids. This is what I do and it works well : Grasseed Reusable Vertuo Capsule Kit for VertuoLine Capsules with 50Pcs Aluminum Foil Seals Lid, Holder and Brush, Fits for Refill Vertuo Pods Reusable Vertuoline Pod https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09314T4DM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9B20DZFDGKC6S14MKHR0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Somebody here on this Reddit sub updates this website which shows all the Original Line (OL) 3rd party capsules:
https://www.notion.so/Nespresso-capsule-directory-fd2032cdc64a4da58a0d3508c393fd98
Like u/bogiesan mentions, there are no 3rd party capsules for the Vertuo machine; maybe you want to think about getting an OL machine? By what you are saying, it might be a better choice. If you just want basic coffee, the OL is a better choice. The only downside is the size of the coffee produced; the Vertuo produces larger size cups of coffee.
Nespresso only produces a few flavored coffees, like the Chocolate Fudge, Hazelino Muffin, etc... Most other coffee have no flavorings at all.

My first Nespresso machine was the U machine. Definitely do a descale firstly. I used to use 2 cleaning capsules to clean the brewing chamber and the front spout. I know it works because I regular take my machine apart for deep cleaning.
I now use Brew Clean now because it's cheaper and it has the same ingredients and I use it with a reuseable capsule to clean the spout.
I have this one and really like it: Flagship 4-Tier Coffee Pod Holder. They have options with three, four, or five drawers, and each drawer holds 20 pods.
It is the Flagship 4-Tier Coffee Pod Holder from Amazon. They have options with three, four, or five drawers, and each drawer holds 20 pods. I've been really happy with mine!
First off, it's a Vertuo Next, it leaks, that's what they do. Replace it with a Plus or something else.
Personally, I wouldn't ever use vinegar in a coffee machine, the thought of the smell just turns my stomach.
Dezcal is an okay citric acid based descaler, worked okay with my ancient Le Cube: https://www.amazon.ca/Urnex-Dezcal-Activated-Remover-Bottle/dp/B004L8V966
If your "personal reasons" include worries of toxic chemicals, know that the insides of Nespresso machines have a tonne of plastic/rubber in contact with the water.
I travel frequently for work and I'd been considering dragging along an Essenza Mini as some others on this sub do, but I have to lug around everything that I bring with me so it's not a great solution. My husband bought me a Minipresso by Wacaco that is the version for Nespresso capsules (as opposed to using your own grounds). There's a new Nanopresso that's an upgraded version but I don't have experience with that one.
It works great for what I'm using it for, though it's not quite light enough to take backpacking. Maybe car camping, day hikes, or road trips would be fine. I always have access to hot water so that's not an issue. In the rear of the picture is what I use to froth milk/sugar if I wish to pour my espresso shot over some fluffy milk. Espresso flavor is great, I think this little contraption is an awesome solution when coffee options are limited.
I made a page:

Blasphemy here I’m sure but I like Mount Hagen Organic Instant Decaf Single Serve. It’s the best instant I can find, sold in Whole Foods and some other grocery stores or online. It’s a light roast so I use two for a mug of coffee.
My biggest regret is not buying one like this where the jug is detachable for cleaning. Once I upgrade from my Instant milk frother to one that I can put in my dishwasher, I think I’ll use it loads more than I do now
I used this frother!

Advice to the prospective pro purchaser: Be sure you have a reliable source for the consumables BEFORE you pull the trigger!

> Some are abandoned after lease and still attached to the distributor account and they will not sell you pods.
Probably true if you're trying to buy consumables directly from Nespresso. You sound like you have experience with this, thanks.
The Nespresso pro sachets are available to anyone on the amazon (box of 50/$60) and a few third party sachets can be found there, too (150/$20! I can safely guess they're horrible). Also, office and food service coffee vendors lease and sell the Nespresso line in larger markets and most of them will sell sachets to anyone, but sometimes only with office-sized minimums.
