If your wife wants to have the baby sleep in the bed, get her a co-sleeper bassinet that stays on the bed. It gives the baby a safe place (firm flat surface) to sleep and also let’s you be close to her. We used this one and it was great.
Baby Delight Snuggle Nest Harmony Portable Infant Sleeper, Silver Clouds, Unique Patented Design, Baby Bed - New!! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014F7UEXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4DN700N9J4F42YHKB4SS
I used this doc brown formula pitcher: Dr. Brown's Formula Mixing Pitcher https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001I481LM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Q5FR2XJS9WWYKA5NNT44 and made enough for the day based on how much buddy boy was drinking at the time. My sister (mom of 4 and a peds nurse) says it keeps for 24 hours so I went with that.
I second the hatch noise machine! https://www.bedbathandbeyond.ca/store/product/hatch-baby-rest-sound-machine-night-light-amp-time-to-rise/1061239272?keyword=Hatch+baby
And this little light is awesome: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07CH3LWKP/ref=cm_sw_r_sm_apa_glc_i_YWVDHTCWV7C5P3VSJ0B5
Fuck the bassinet and get a play pen like Graco pack and play (they won't age out of it so quickly, my baby hated sleeping in the bassinet after 2-3 weeks)
Sleepers with zippers and feet.
And a swing!
I second the washable alternative to puppy pads! We have a set of these prefold diapers that we use for everything... diaper changes on the go, another layer of protection for our changing pad, etc. They are so absorbent and handy! https://www.amazon.com/Prefold-Cloth-Diapers-Unbleached-Pre-Washed/dp/B00ZQJCN3C
One of the biggest hits was this spinning toy. The suckers adhere to most surfaces so I was able to reposition it on a mirrored surface while doing floortime and tummy time, then when he was sitting to vertical surfaces like a window when I wanted him to reach or encourage standing. He loved since he was 2 months and its still going strong at 15 months. This might not suit every child, but my LO is a big fan of anything that moves, rolls or spins.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fat-Brain-Toys-Whirly-Squigz/dp/B07F2QPXNC
We got him a musical instrument set and wooden blocks, which can always be played with as they grow. He's a demon for posting things at the moment so a cardboard box with some holes cut into will do the trick to post the blocks. No need to go buy a toy that solely does that.
For birthday and Christmas we got one big ticket item, a flisat table (ikea) and a trybike (trike) that converts into a 2 wheeler. These will grow with them and can be easily be passed on.
Now I'm not perfect by any stretch, I have fallen for those poppet things. It entertains him for 5/10minutes, works on fine motor skills and I get a hot cup of tea.

Hope this gives you a better idea.
Congratulations on your new babe! I can't recommend "mom's on call" enough. My hubs and I had no idea what to do all day with a baby when a friend of ours introduced us to the moms on call book. It quickly became our holy grail! It's provided us structure and a daily routine that we're all thriving on! Here is a link to it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AN2JPNI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_8QACRH6312YSVJ0CBERZ
The daily routine also had our baby sleeping through the night with ease, once we got the green light from our Dr that night feedings were no longer necessary. It sounds too good to be true, but once you get the routine down...it's heaven.
They also have a Facebook group which is helpful. Good luck, you got this!
i don’t think you have to stop just yet, generally when they roll this early it’s due to their head being heavy lol. but if you see her trying to roll again i would go ahead and start transitioning her out of the swaddle.
you can also try a transitional sleep suit, we did that and it absolutely saved my sleep and sanity when we had to give up the swaddle. this is the one we got and my son LOVED it, slept better in it than the arms down velcro swaddle we were using before!
Preemie should be at places like Kohls and Target, & here’s a link I copied from Amazon that has preemie available.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GF83396/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3bGsEbA9J83K5
Also, 0-3 months is actually 3 months size clothing, I don’t know why they have to complicate it by adding the “0-“ portion. Newborn size would be smaller and you could try that if you can’t find preemie.
I use ParentLove and I like it. For me, simple was important. Big fat easy to press buttons (when you're juggling a squirmy baby switching boobs you don't want to be doing crazy data entry). Start. Stop. Save. Wet/dirty save. Vitamin save. Bath save. Asleep awake save. I also felt like it seemed like it was packed with features but easy to pick the ones that mattered to me and hide the rest. Sharing between caregivers is simple and straight forward too. The colors and background are also customizable which sounds like a small thing but is big for me since I look at it so frequently. There are a lot of more popular and highly recommended ones, Huckleberry comes to mind. Check out a few and see if one stands out to you! I bought and set up mine a few weeks before my baby was due.
And this is the light I have: Link
I’ve been putting a plastic rain protector over my stroller when I go inside anywhere. I take it off outside for the most part. I don’t live in an area with densely populated streets or else I would keep it on and just mind the air flow.
Our 10 week old has pretty much been congested since day one. We use the cool mist humidifier as OP mentioned and the spray linked below.
One thing to note. Our pediatrician said using suction to pull out the snot too much can actually further irritate and inflame the nasal cavity. So we actually stopped doing that. We use the spray and usually within a minute she sneezes the snot out on her own.
I only go into her nose if I can clearly see the snot/booger and then I use the Frida nose picker thing linked below as well.
It has steadily gotten better over the weeks. Pediatrician said some babies arenjust stuffy and the passages are so small it just doesn't take much.
Good luck!

This is exactly how my baby was. She is now 10 weeks and is taking a bottle regularly when we try to supplement with formula 1x a day and I pump to store for future frozen milk supply. We just kept trying every day. I got her to start taking it by switching up intermittently switching my breast and the bottle, holding the same position that she is used to nursing in. She would take it for a few seconds and then cry. We found best success with Comotomo Natural Feel Baby Bottle, Double Pack Green, 150ml (5 oz) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01M1E94BO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_PfI-Fb48P8T84 also try some preemie sized bottles just in case
I personally think finding blackout curtains that are cute is impossible. Instead, I found some curtains I actually liked and then added a blackout panel to the back. This is the one I got but there are several brands with different dimensions. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZKVSGFM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_P3l-FbS7854WA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
We got these from Amazon. It’s like nighttime in our room!
We had a similar problem and the curtains seemed to help!
Definitely go for an app over a journal. Like you said your phone will be handy, especially when you are out the house, or at the doctor appointments.
We used Ovia Parenting iOS Android We stopped using it after about 8 months, once we were more sure of their habits.
Pros: - Can be on 2 devices at the same time (great for multiple care takers) - track breast, bottle, pee/poop & sleep (although we didn’t use sleep) - good info and milestones related to how old the bebé is
Cons:
- there’s a lot of stuff and ads, but they can be ignored, it’s possible to only use what you need
- sometimes we forgot to save the things we entered, but maybe by now the app has improved that
All good. Not sure about Amazon.com (Amazon only really just started here in Aus)..but I found a link for packaging ect. Fess
Stay safe guys.
P.s.. a baby in the current global climate is tough. It a hard enough as it is, now chuck in a global pandemic.
Can you go a size up and get an “overnight” pair?
I don’t know what age your baby is but I just got these for my skinny 6 week old and they stay on all day.

Yah OP, just tell your dad you don’t want your baby to become a serial killer. You need to give her love lol
I was having the same issue, during the day my nugget is more reflux-y so I let them eat less with more feedings, but for whatever reason by 5PM her night baby mode let’s her eat more 🤷🏻♀️ so I increase feeding more and that helps. Also if they’re drinking breastmilk they’re going to wake up more than formula fed babies, because their digestive system digests it faster if that factors in.
These also seem to help during the day:
If it is cradle cap we used this brush and it was amazing. My babys was so bad and it literally cleared it up with one use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Frida-Baby-DermaFrida-FlakeFixer-3-Step/dp/B08XXP976F/ref=asc_df_B08XXP976F/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=535031931503&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3643188941646219746&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvq...
Super recommend this one ergo baby embrace carrier easy to use, structured but still woven and comfy and hip healthy, you just use buckles to snap it on and it doesn’t need an infant insert
Seconded! I never clip - just file with the electric file. I have this one and absolutely love it. It comes with different attachments based on baby's age. Saves me stress (FTM scared of hurting baby) and nails are smooth. I file them as baby eats or is napping with no issues.
I use a lotion called Sween by Coloplast. It's what we use in the hospital I work at but you can buy it on Amazon.
We got this mattress for our pack and play. There is a firm side for younger than toddler and softer side for older.

I bought a vent fan on Amazon that helps push cold or hot air to our rooms upstairs that always seem to be hot in summer and cold in the winter. They really help! Here’s the link
It's normal, no tricks worked for us but swaddling. You will have to try a few routines at first to see *ho*w your baby likes to be swaddled. For us, we would feed him, rock him until he seemed sleepy, swaddle him (now with a blanket but with these), continue rocking until in deep sleep and then put him on the bassinet. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't but keep in my mind that eventually, he'll figure it out! It took us a month more or less, now my little one sleeps through the night or maybe wakes up only once at three months old.
Bonus tip, if your wife uses reusable nursing pads, so you can put them with the baby while he sleeps so he has mama's scent with him. And if nothing else works, letting him suck on a pacifier while being transferred to the bassinet also works (sometimes).
Good luck!
Our LO broke out of the swaddles the nurses put him in right from the moment he was born. Made us way too scared to swaddle him ourselves. We purchased this which I think would work for you, and it's lightweight https://www.amazon.ca/NARUTOO-Swaddle-Newborn-Adjustable-Breathable/dp/B07SR3F2RY/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=25WWKSMVOYX0E&keywords=narutoo+swaddle&qid=1656541696&sprefix=NARUTOO%2Caps%2C99&sr=8-5 Ended up realizing that he hates his hands being constructed (he sucks on them) so we started using the velcro swaddles under his armpits. He does still startle but seems to get a better sleep than if he was hogtied lol
I got the belly band from Mamawayon Amazon and it’s recommended by my physiotherapist. It’s been helping me a lot in reducing pain and discomfort, as well as supporting my back and improve posture.
Perhaps she isn't eating enough in one session to last an extended period?
We are nearly 8 weeks and progressed from 2 hours per session at night to 5 pretty quick.

My wife and i used this for our son in the first couple of months when he was gassy or constipated. It was such a life saver. We also used mylicon for him when he was gassy, but I have heard that it is not 100% effective for all babies.

Have you looked into these?? If I read it all correctly and even googled. These are latex and silicone free.
I believe this is the one we have:
We originally had one for our room, but bought a second for baby’s room for the summer!
I got this mesh one! Haven’t had super hot days yet, but it’s definitely cooler than my other wraps (Solly & Moby). Make sure you get the right size for your body!

My son had crazy bad diaper rash when we first brought him home, he pooped after every feed and we rubbed his poor skin raw 😭
It sounds crazy, but we use a hand held fan to dry the area between each diaper change and it cleared up within a few days
Now I buy this little fan for all my friends when they give birth lol
Same. The Swaddle Me Pod was our favorite in the beginning and now we’re using this: Happiest Baby Sleepea 5-Second Swaddle - 100% Organic Cotton Baby Swaddle Blanket - Doctor Designed Promotes Healthy Hip Development - Prevents Accidentally Scratching Face (Graphite Planets, Medium) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y3GVZ7L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AC8A3F58DCBBZZ3S5EN0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
If you just want to use soap and water ... I recommend getting a gentle soap with no harsh chemicals. Don't want anything left behind on the bottles that the baby can ingest.
With my first and second babes I use:
Dapple Baby, Bottle and Dish Soap Dish Liquid Plant Based Hypoallergenic, Fragrance Free https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FMTFXM1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_QQ9X327ZQKQ2PKCVPQ5W
But I 100% recommend sterilizing the bottles after washing with soap and water. You can either boil in water or get a sterilizer that only needs water (usually distilled) to work.
For boiling in water: Most bottles/nipples require 5-10 minutes to be boiled in water, water turned off and allowed to cool, then dry items .... but the bottles should have guidelines/instructions telling you how long they need for proper sterilization.
I did the sterilizing method for all my first kiddos items until they were about one (I think) .... or it was when they weren't using the baby bottles anymore. When I started using the dishwasher for their sippy cups/bowls/spoons/plates, I once again used a mild detergent (Seventh Generation) with no fragrances.
This.

Nothing else worked. My baby has brutal colic. This is the only thing that stops her crying. Swings don’t work.

It’s this thing! I got it because my LO will only sleep if you hold her or if she’s in the car or stroller and this dog gives the illusion that there’s movement around her
This is totally normal, but if you want to get rid of it faster this is really helping us!
I just ordered the FridaBaby 3-in-1 Nail, Nose and Ear Picker last week and it was exactly what I needed! The sucker didn't work at all. This tool at least helps me get her booger to the opening of her nostril and I can wrangle it with a tissue. I swear these boogers are embedded in their tiny brains.
This is the only bottle my babe will eat from: Lansinoh Baby Bottles for Breastfeeding Babies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H0DH2NS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_J0Z3SC7FRCVJ8CH6B13P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Good luck!!
Not exactly the same, but I hated the idea of breastfeeding before I gave birth. But as soon as he was born, the hormones took over and I lost any issues I had with it; I’m sure being in survival mode also helped.
My shoulders get cold while breastfeeding at night, so I wear one of these. It feels kinda ridiculous to wear, but might help you deal with the feeling of air against your skin.
This is what we ended up doing as well.
Bassinet in bed with an infant insert that hugged his butt (we didn’t use the head piece).
Arms up swaddle (we used Love to Dream)
I pumped during the day to give him bottles at night as he’d fall asleep at the boob before eating much. With 3 oz he’d sleep for 2-3 hours.
At 2-3am he was generally VERY gassy without fail. I’d usually hold him in a seated/bucket position against my chest facing out as he farted. Or I’d use the Windii.
We had blackout curtains, white noise and a fan circulating air as our guy runs real warm.
Have you tried a Pigeon nipple? It's a Japanese brand we've had decent success with.
So sorry to hear you're going through this! We had a rough go with our first (FOMO baby with colic... *sigh*), and our second (6 weeks old atm) is one of those babies that refuses to sleep unless someone is holding him (very similar to yours)
Anyways, a few recommendations if you haven't tried already:
You could also reevaluate your sleep schedule as well, but honestly, it seems like you've got a good one with the long sleeps during the night.
At the end of the day, it's best to remind yourself that this is your life for likely the first three months -- probably not the "advice" you wanted to hear, but if there's one thing I CAN say (and I HATED when people told me this on the first go), it gets easier!!
Best of luck, and if anything else pops to mind, I'll reach out! Blessings to you and yours
Haha, just found this one for hand sanitizing Judo Masters GelCLIP Wearable, Refillable, Personal Hand Sanitizer Dispenser, Clip on, One Hand Operation clip
Good to drink water. Drink more! Try to get 10 glasses in a day (if you aren't already). Bored of water? Throw in a Gatorade here and there.
Eat potatoes. Something about the starches.
Get some supplements with fenugreek. Here is one you can just add to milk or your drink of choice.

Mom's have a lot working against them when trying to breastfeed. We can find ways to battle back 😊
Our little dude loved thiswhen he came home from the NICU. Might still be big on your little one but worth a shot!
This was me. I tried three different types of swaddles before I found the one that she would accept and sleep in. It’s this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tommee-Tippee-Original-Newborn-Snuggle/dp/B082QGD5S1
Also we were given a kind of super soft baby size rug that she loves so we put that on top of the mattress (tucked in tight Obvs) and it’s soft on her face.
Even then I have to put her down gently after she’s fallen asleep in our arms. Recently we’ve discovered that she needs a good amount of burping before going down even though she’s exclusively breast fed (EBF) or the discomfort keeps her up. Also I recommend white noise (I use Spotify) which my LO likes for naps.
Finally I’d say that I have coslept a couple of times when we were really struggling. Never thought I’d do that before she was here because of safety but I figure that’s safer than me falling out of bed from falling asleep while holding her. DH sleeps next door and I put her in the middle of the bed and wrap my body around her.
Hope this helps.

Ours sleeps brilliantly in this. Everything else she’s likely to wake up within an hour or two, even if she goes down quickly and is tired.
I have this one made by Delta Children that was $55. I like that it has storage underneath and it's on wheels. Also has a night light and plays music. I can't get down with these expensive bassinets when they only use it for a few months and we're not planning on having any more kids but to each their own.

We had the same issue and my baby’s pediatrician referred us to a PT. She said my baby had a very mild case of torticolis and recommended some stretches and lots of tummy time. She said you don’t have to leave the baby on tummy time for let’s say 10 minutes, but instead do it several times a day even if it’s just 1 minute at time. Like every time you change his diaper, etc…
Baby carriers or holding the baby also.
She also recommended this hat tortle hat to wear during the day

How often do you burp your baby? My 8 week old drinks 4 ounces each feed and I let him drink 2 ounces then walk around attempting to burp him and then let him drink the next 2 ounces. The whole feeding takes about 20-25 mins. I then hold him upright for 15-30 mins after the feed. Sometime will put him in a baby seat so he can be relatively upright. I also position my baby relatively upright when feeding him.
Have you tried giving your baby gripe water and/or gas drops? Little remedies has really good stuff that seems to help soothe their tummy. I give my baby gripe water 4 times a day.

Sleep training isn’t recommended until after 4 months, ideally 6 months old because babies this age aren’t believed to be able to self-soothe. So until then there isn’t a ton you can do.
Try to get better naps. Wake windows work for us in that he generally can’t stay awake longer than 90 minutes before getting sleepy. We start winding down 10 minutes before and follow our bedtime routine including sleep sack and white noise. He will only sleep longer via contact naps or baby wearing, so I do that for at least 2 of his 4 naps to ensure he’s getting solid sleep and not overly tired at the end of the day.
Consider feeding formula before bed as it takes longer to digest and may help him stay asleep longer. You might be able to encourage cluster feeding in the PM to up his intake if you’re EBF.
How is he expected to sleep? We had more success bed sharing using safe sleep 7 as I was breastfeeding at night. We used an infant insert in a bedside bassinet until he outgrew the bassinet. We used the insert in bed, until he outgrew that as well. He sleeps in a sleep sack on flat sheets between us now. We both sleep on our sides with pillows between our legs so we can’t roll over. I offer the boob as soon as I hear him suckling, so he never has to full wake up. We only change his diaper once around 3am. We get solid sleep from 8-3am before his gas hit. He mouth is at my nipple line and he’s taken to rolling over and latching with minimal support.
We also took shifts. 8-2 and 2-8am which ensured we both got a 6 hours stretch of sleep. His sleep is restful enough now and we both can sleep through his moving that we no longer need shifts.
So sorry mama!! Praying for you both!
Having a nipple shield changed the game for us. I was told I had good anatomy. But her mouth is so small it’s been so frustrating. Definitely worth a shot! It just allows baby a little more to feel like they’re sucking on.

There’s my mom brain showing. I got it on Amazon, not Reddit. But it’s not wifi, great battery life on full charge, can control/rotate the camera through the monitor. You can check it out here. This is the Canadian site
Our pediatrician agrees with this. Pushing rather than sucking out mucus. You can buy nasal rinses, or make at home along with a little syringe for pushing it into the nostrils. Or be a bit lazy like me and just buy the pre-portioned baby hydrasense doses (Amazon link below). We usually use 1-2 little bottles a day with the same method as the previous poster described.

It will get better! Little ones are pretty resilient!
We use that tub with this insert and support the baby’s head and neck throughout the bath - works well! Started using it at 2 weeks (did sponge baths on changing mat prior to that)

This is the one I have and my baby loves it! It gets bonus points because it converts to a chair for toddlers.
Ftm 32 weeks so I don't have actual experience but.... I saw on YouTube a mom using this portable bassinet for her baby. She would just carry it from room to room while the baby was asleep.

Ours just started having super gas. Very inconsolable at times with a very bloated belly. Tried just about every trick out there, so far the only thing that worked for us is the windi (basically a butt straw) and this charcoal-infused gripe water

They have been a godsend for our little one. Rashes gone, and we even use the on her face and her newborn acne is completely gone as well.
Do you have a carrier or a stroller you could take I'm out in? A walk around the block calms our little guy down pretty quickly. Also car rides. But eventually you have to take them out of the carrier or carseat and that could go either way, but maybe worth a try. I recently got the Momcozy carrier and absolutely love it. Is really affordable too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098X74XZM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The ceiling fan hypnotizes ours as well. W turn it on low above him and he just watches it forever.
I'm not sure if I was helpful, but I wish you all the best. That sounds so tough.
My 6.5 month old is going through the same thing. He's finally on the upswing, but now I've caught it. Yippee. 🤧
My kiddo lost his appetite, and it was a struggle for a few days to get him to drink enough fluids. He was pretty hoarse and coughing so I imagine his throat was sore, and also it is hard to drink a bottle when your nose is plugged. Poor bub. 😥
So I made pedialyte Popsicles. I have these tiny ice cube trays, and I poured unflavored pedialyte into it and froze. Then snapped the cubes in half (I made them thin) and put them in his silicon fresh food feeder, and he frickin loooooves it. It is only like maybe a half tablespoon of fluid, but he will eat like 5 in a row. I think the cold feels good on his throat, plus he's teething.

I also greatly endorse using a humidifier and a Nose Freida. I made fun of the Freida from day one, but I ate my words. This bad boy WORKS.
Set up baby in some sort of reclined seat, I used a bouncer. Then I would sit on the floor with him, pump set next to him, and pumping bra holding everything in place while I bottle fed baby. Alternatively buy some hands free pumping cups

This is what we have, you can adjust the sound and brightness from your phone. Its wonderful. And as they get older it basically becomes a alarm clock changing sounds and light when its time to get up.
We are at week five with this and can’t believe there are several more weeks ahead 😩. I did get this heat sack thingy To put on his stomach I saw recommended that’s supposed to help with the farts. I push his legs in and out but that only helps pass maybe one fart and the grunting continues.
Haven’t used it yet but here is link: Happi Tummi Baby Gas Relief All... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00186PSDE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Oh my gosh you’re really in the thick of it. Check into symptoms for acid reflux/GERD. It’s pretty common in babies and my baby struggled a lot until he was checked out and put on medicine! Also, if you have the means, try Gerber Soothe drops. They’re on sale on Amazon right now for $17 with vitamin D. Stay strong, this will pass!!
I’d highly recommend this electric nail trimmer. It can’t cut skin. Wife and I absolutely love it.
These are the ones we have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0776Q1TH3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_4Y2CTZDS07N5GK8MNMNA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It was hard to find ones that worked because a lot of the ones out there marketed for pack n play mattresses are not the right size, but these are snug without being so tight to come undone.
Yeah I feel you on not wanting to create the habit of contact napping. I'm hoping she can be weaned from it later on :-/
This is so frustratingly common and very normal! My little one did the same thing and she was also very gassy for the first few months. .
I found that gas drops, like these, made a big difference. I also switched to the Dr. Brown's bottles which I cannot recommend enough.
You may also want to try offering baby a little more at each feed and see if that makes a meaningful difference, they may be ready for more food.
If you haven't already, check out r/formulafeeding they are so helpful and may have more suggestions to help you keep baby fed and happy.
Hang in there because it does get better and baby will start sleeping longer stretches.
We have a similar issue. We swaddle with the following to give our son some control over his hands but to keep him warm.

I think your hair looks great! Like really great 😯
But I know how it feels to feel self conscious about the post partum hairloss, I swear I'll be bald by Christmas.
Have you thought about using accessories? Something similar to this would be gentle on your hairline and would also really suit you
You can use something like this. Just make sure you’re not putting anything puffy/bulky directly on the baby under the straps. These just go over the baby and car seat together
Def check behind ears and specifically the neck rolls!! For dandruff/cradle cap….this is the best (the white brush part):
The 3-Step Cradle Cap System by Fridababy | DermaFrida The FlakeFixer | Sponge, Brush, Comb and Storage Stand for Babies with Cradle Cap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T16DQ31/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SF1Z9AMH9RRZSJR93R4V
Have you checked really well behind his ears and in neck rolls? Sometimes funky smells can build up in strange places.
Also, I haven’t tried it yet but someone mentioned using a silicone scrub brush like this on their baby’s head and they said it helped with scalp issues:
You should be fine. You can always get testing strips to test alcohol content in your breast milk if you’re worried. Milk Testing Strips
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but by son sleeps with no problem in this bassinet: Baby Bassinet, Bedside Sleeper for Baby, Easy Folding Portable Crib with Storage Basket for Newborn, Bedside Bassinet, Comfy Mattress/Travel Bag Included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BF3N47B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V7QRX6BKH93MCCH1XC84
I keep the side down and he’ll fall asleep with my hand on his chest, and it makes transitioning from my arms to the mattress easy. I know every baby is different, but I hope this helps!
Just FYI you can buy a battery on Amazon to make the S2 portable. I bought this one and it works great.
My son hates the carrier, but he LOVES the sling I bought! Literally, I put him in this and he is asleep in 3 minutes (as soon as he hears my heartbeat). Maybe try this!

What about baby wearing? My daughter loves it. She falls a sleep every time. We have the Boba Baby Wrap Boba Baby Wrap Carrier
It's not at all glamorous but my favourite baby purchase has been a baby monitor holder. We got this one
It's so handy, especially when going away overnight. Much safer and faster than building makeshift towers from books and boxes!
we have used this wedge pillow to feed our newborn. We have found when we put him on his side (on the pillow) it really helps him get a feeding down without sounding wheezy / choking. Then we hold him upright for 15-20 after the feeding, then are able to lay him down.
Milliard Bed Wedge Pillow with Memory Foam:
This was the best item we received and we've used it for going on 6 months now

For me I preferred when people bought if my registry or gave me gift cards. I got a lot of clothes my baby never fit in because they grow so fast and he lives in sleepers. I received lots of diapers that I'll now be donating. The best gift I received that wasn't on my registry was Uber Eats gift cards!
If you want to include a physical gift so you can have a cute little basket you could do a muslin swaddle rolled up, burp / wash cloths, change pad (These are great to have around)
If you wanna get something specifically for mom that's thoughtful too. My baby got loads of amazing gifts but when someone thought of me I found that real touching. I received a nice zip up sleeping gown (with pockets!) that I still use often. Great for breastfeeding and was nice to have as something really easy to put on and wear around the house after birth was so debilitating.
Yup my daughter had it too. My wife bought this and after a few uses it cleared right up. Luckily the little one likes bath time so getting her to chill in her tub was easy.
