Microsoft can indeed access your data:
"Who can theoretically still access your data in the OneDrive Personal Vault:
- Microsoft
- Microsoft’s employees
- Third parties to whom Microsoft grants access (according to the American CLOUD-Act, for example, providers are obliged to release user data on request of the American authorities).
- Hackers that gain access to your OneDrive Personal Vault"

mover.io will help you migrate files cloud to cloud.
Onedrive is ok, IMHO not quite as solid at sync as Dropbox but you gain lots more overall. I have lots of users on PC/Mac using OD and SPOL sync etc. It is the way if in MS universe.
I'm also looking into this challenge and you will need a 3rd party tool. I'm looking at these right now...
SDExplorer http://www.cloudstorageexplorer.com/
syncDriver http://syncdriver.com/about
Example - https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Personal-Year-Subscription-User/dp/B0869HH5TT/
$40 - Not legitimate, I would be very suspect of purchase.
Another example - https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Personal-12-month-subscription-Auto-renewal/dp/B07F3TQ6DQ
$60 - This one appears legitimate but note that it's an automatically recurring subscription from Amazon. I'm assuming that's where the price difference is. It's also sold directly from Amazon, not a third party.
So I'll back off the hard "don't do it" and go with a buyer beware.
I'm on s10+ same problem here
My solution is using another app
Pair folder in app to camera folder and one drive folder
Then sync them automatically with the app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.onesyncv2
Just organise everything in the one folder you can sync for free
Btw on Google you can find pro apk for free

I changed the 2 to a 1 because I didn't want the link or the files to be the focus of this discussion :)
And yes, it takes you to the file but on a different webpage. I can't directly link to the file. For instance, here is a direclink that allows you to open or save instead of taking you to the Ondrive page.
Are you and your company in the same country?
When I was in Australia, whenever I connected to the OneDrive of my university in Scandinavia, it was slow as hell.
As soon as I was connected to a VPN in Scandinavia, it was as fast as if I was home, no matter if I was on VPN with my university or with NordVPN with a random server in my country or a country nearby.
You can't do it from the OneDrive app, it's not a backup or sync app in the same way the Windows app is.
You need a third-party app - try OneSync
For cloud to cloud transfers, independent of your computer and internet connection, look at either MultCloud or CBackup. Once the task has be set up in your browser, both use their own servers and internet connection, to handle the transfer. Your computer isn't required.
MultCloud (30 GB a month free) is the more established of the two, but CBackup has a far more generous free plan (2000 GB a month).
There are a few other offline sync apps for Android that can use and sync your OneDrive files in MUCH more flexible ways than the official OneDrive app features anyway. I've been using OneSync for years now, and love it. Offline files can not only be synced but also are available to other apps.
Here are a few pointers. Start by downloading rclone from:
After down loading, unzip the rclone file
Then go to
and follow the procedure to setup the needed keys for Onedrive, which are put into a local config file, so you only need to do this once. Its not that hard to do and the directions are good. You will be asked for a name of the remote, so in the following example, I used the name remote
Once that is done, lets assume where you want to put the files are on d:\onedrive, you would use the commands
d: cd \ rclone sync remote: onedrive/
Rclone will only copy down new or changed files. If files are removed on OneDrive, rclone using the sync command will delete those same files on your d: drive.
These commands can be put into a script, and then use task manager to run the script. As Onedrive keeps files changed or modified for a period of time on my c: drive, I only run the script daily.
Nope. You have to move them back to C:/Users The symlinks also need restoring, so move them via right click, Properties, Location, move.
https://winaero.com/move-desktop-folder-windows-10/
After that, you can use the settings /account, unlink PC to remove your account from the OneDrive client (if that's still there).
It will always create a subfolder.
You can always create a virtual drive letter for your D:\OneDrive root. Ala:
subst E: D:\OneDrive
Now "E:" is a virtual drive that points to your OneDrive folder on D:
https://winaero.com/blog/create-virtual-drive-from-a-folder-in-windows-10/
Take a look at rclone (rclone.org) . It supports OneDrive for Business, and would be the way I would look at if I had to do a massive push of data to...well, any cloud storage that rclone supported.
Hmm sorry, you might be right. The docs say that it looks for files with the same md5sum in the same directory, but I'm not sure if it looks for duplicate filenames first.
I had same issue as you. It has solved once i updated my codec. Try to download & install windows 10 codec : https://www.filehorse.com/download-klite-codec-pack/
I recommend that you reinstall the app or reset it. You can do this with App Cleaner & Uninstaller or manually clean up service its service files for a clean reinstallation.
I downloaded all of the files to a hard drive big enough to hold them and have been using dupeGuruto deduplicate hundreds of gigs of duplicated files. It can be a bit finicky, but I've run its picture mode successfully on folders with 900,000+ images in them. As well as the standard mode on document folders.
I've got about 75GB worth of ISOs, installers, and drivers in mine - haven't had a problem thus far. Even have the portableapps.com launcher installed there with all my tools and it works great. Only problem I've had was with putting my Steam folders into OD - some Skyrim mods didn't want to play nice until I paused syncing.

If you're going to put movies/tv shows I'd suggest not sharing those out, or at least using the old Dropbox workaround of encrypted ZIP files.
Lol @ the janky software comment. We use a commercial product called WebDrive to do exactly this. I know there are other similar products available as well, such as Expandrive and NetDrive.
If the core issue is that your Internet connection is unreliable, you might consider using an open source download manager that can handle resuming downloads (from the disconnection); like FDM:
https://www.freedownloadmanager.org/features.htm
To be extra thorough you could get your friend to do a hash on the file, then match up with the completed download at your end.
Or plugin a usb drive and move the iCloud photo to the usb drive. The only other product I know of is https://mover.io which moves files into OneDrive but as Apple is a walled garden they don’t provide api for anyone to gain access - they don’t want you to leave
https://www.multcloud.com will do exactly what you want.
Aside from that you could spin up a server on cloud.google.com it's like aws but Google version, it's cheaper than aws for something like this due to bandwidth.
Downlaod all your drive data to it, and re-upload it to O365. If you have a Gmail look for a $300 dollar credit for their cloud service, a lot of people got them, I had 300 in free credits.
This would probably be the fastest way as the server should have 1gbps up and down.
If you have multiple accounts you're doing I'd look into BitTitan it's not free but designed for enterprise migrations.
If it was me personally and just a few accounts I'd go the route of spinning up a server on Google cloud and doing it. It wouldn't take very long
Recommend a free web application named MultCloud since it also supports the sync among multiple accounts of the same provider. Thus you don't have to switch any account after logging in. You can use it to sync files from OneDrive to another cloud service or other OneDrive accounts directly in the browser.
Besides the Arq backup folder (which might cause problems?) I only have a few folders and files that should all be named ‘normal‘. The files and folders I recently added for test purposes were named like ‘test’ or ‘123’… 😉
You can always get a cheap Windows PC (a NUC or compute stick for example) and set up onedrive on it, I used to have my HTPC handle that task for a while. It just synced my OneDrive to an external drive.
Another option is something like RClone, you can run it on a RaspberryPi, so it's probably the cheapest option, but not as easy to configure as just signing in to onedrive's sync client on a 2nd PC.

I stopped doing that for a while when Comcast introduced data caps, so with your limit you might just want to stick to your current method of copying the files you already have on your local drive to an external, might be easier to do with a tool like Total Commander
Hmm, I wouldn't advise it.
The way OneDrive works, is that it sets up a structure of folders on your hard drive, and it will synch those to the cloud, across devices.
It's not a back-up tool, in the sense that you could point to an entire hard drive and tell it back it up to the cloud.
You also need to factor in the total storage you have for OneDrive and how large the hard drive is.
There are better back-up options, like cloning the hard drive. If your machine has multiple bays for whatever device you have, you could just slot in the second drive alongside it, and use drive cloning software (like Samsung's Magician or Macrium Reflect).
Hi, I was looking for very long time for an app like this and I have tried dozens of apps until I found app called Piktures. It has very well managed integration with cloud services including OD and I have replaced the GPhotos with it. I'm now using the Premium version to make benefit of all features. You can also create home screen shortcuts to specific locations on local device or on OD for a quick access. The only disadvantage is that it cannot share images as OD links, but only as files, but I guess that no 3rd party app can do that so that's what it is until MS creates something on their own.
I really recommend trying it out.

Try Joplin Link to Play Store which is available on all platforms and can sync with Onedrive. This app can also be end to end encrypted if you need that. Also, if you are into text files Joplin supports Markdown which is very useful.
Another option is SilentNotes which can be encrypted and synced through Onedrive. It is available on Android and Windows. Link to Play Store
I use onedrive sync app
Pair folder in app to camera folder and to one drive folder
Then sync them automatically with the app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.onesyncv2
Just organise everything in the one folder you can sync for free
Or find app mod somewhere online
If you need more help write me
This should keep file names and folder structure
Just sync all to one onedrive or use the autoaync version of the app above to sync to smb ?
Install next cloud?

Try OneSync app. It allows to sync folders from your phone to specific folders on OneDrive, and also supports two-way sync. The free version allows mapping of just one pair of folders, the Pro version removes that limitation. OneSync
Hi,

You could try the Rainbow - Best cloud storage app
You can connect to your Onedrive account (or any other account), and then you can backup your camera folder to any folder on your Onedrive account (or any other account)

I'm no help, but:
>they land in the same directory "Camera Roll" which makes no sense
Yeah this sucks. I use OneDrive as a photo dump backup. I don't use it for organization. The only thing here is that OneDrive Web is pretty smart at searches: for instance, typing 'screenshot' as a search yields all the screenshots. So periodically you can search and move them en masse to another folder.
>can not choose the folder name on the cloud your stuff is uploaded to, at least not in the android app, but you can rename it on the computer
That's bizarre. I didn't know that.
>if i delete some pictures in my Gallery they are not deleted in the cloud
That's right, because it's a backup not a sync. Google Photos is better on this front: deleting the photo in the Photos app deletes it on all devices (that Photos knows about). I believe deleting it on Photos website does the same. See my comment on FolderSync below, too.
>is there a onedrive application for android that syncs folders on my mobile that i can choose?
OneDrive lets you select more folders to back up. However, if you want more powerful or selective sync options, try FolderSync and FolderSync Pro.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.lite
Of course you can.
Install the latest version of OneDrive here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-onedrive-file-photo-cloud-storage/id477537958?mt=8 if you are using iPhone and there: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.skydrive&hl=en if you are using Adnroid.

On Android, you can download CloudPlayer, pair it with your OneDrive account, and it will index all your music. It will also let you sort by Artist, Album, Ratings, etc and has a 10-band EQ among other things. It's a free download with an in-app purchase and comes with a 30 day free trial.
Note: I am the doubleTwist co-founder, a small start-up out of Austin. If you give CloudPlayer a try, let me know what you think :)
