I just ordered this to get shipped to my Mets fan BIL.
This is what I keep refreshing to see how the weather will be. I'm afraid of a delay due to the field being soaked, doesn't look like it will be raining much by 7pm.
Rain delay bingo.. Im taking bottom of the 4th for 1:30
Best guess ... Rain ends in 4 minutes https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/citizens-bank-park/19148/minute-weather-forecast/53632_poi
It takes awhile after the rain to get the tarp off and stuff
Fightin' Pigs are down 4-0 in the 5th at Scranton. Haseley is 0 for 2.
You can listen here if you're looking for something to do between now and the Phils.
Hey there, Phillies fan from Delaware here. I have a short baseball mystery novel, The San Diego Curse, free today on Amazon Kindle:
Would love for you to check it out!
If you missed it when it came out in 2011, The Rotation is an excellent book about the Phils 2011 season and pitching staff by Jim Salisbury and Todd Zolecki.
If you have Chrome, look up 'Hotspot Shield' in the extensions, it should get you around the blackout. If it doesn't get around it there, this is the Free Game of the Day on , and it should get around that.
Using ? Get yourself a VPN service (PrivateInternetAccess, VyprVPN, NordVPN, Unblock-Us). They'll allow you to spoof your device's location to make it think you're out of market. I'm using Unblock-Us right now to watch with on my AppleTV. I don't have cable, so it's my only way.
Peacock is free, it sucks but it's free. I downloaded a torrent also. Can't wait for the 3rd movie.
If you want the torrent from a trusted source:
The production quality of Pigs home games will be top notch. It's the TV broadcast from Service Electric who show all the home games up here in the Valley. Away games might be iffy depending on the team. I don't know if this is still true but the Pigs were the only team in MiLB that have all their home games broadcast on TV.
You can listen to all the games for free here.
T-Mac's son has taken over radio duties from Matt Provence who, sadly, went to work full time at NJIT after last season.
Vue gets NBCSports Philly - https://www.playstation.com/en-us/network/vue/channels/ I do know what you are referring to there - there are some Sixers and Flyers games that are broadcasted on another channel, I can't recall which, that the Vue doesn't get. In those cases, I just look for a stream.
I'm a big fan of OOTP, having played for over 2 years and having tried once to run a league publicly on reddit. I'm a big nerd when it comes to making a history and stuff, I've always been a writer and it's like a story developing before you, I like it a lot.
Anyway, I'm making the game of all games, the league of all leagues.
I made a flowchart. Look at my flowchart.
It's like I take a game many people would find boring and make it even more boring.
The blackouts are so stupid. I spend a little time in Braves country so I have to use a VPN with my devices sometimes. NordVPN isn’t great for security I think but it solves this issue at about $4 a month with a long term agreement.
There’s a fantastic book by Jared Diamond that goes in to detail about this approach and coach that Kingery went to called Swing Kings.
Swing Kings: The Inside Story of Baseball's Home Run Revolution https://www.amazon.com/dp/0062872117/
I use NordVPN, works well. Probably not the cheapest of the bunch, but to me its worth it because it's reliable and safe.
Edit: If you go with a free VPN option, I'd be careful. I tried doing that few years ago and noticed some funny changes going on with my computer. Don't really remember what it was that made me think something was up, just remember something being a little wonky. I'm not super savvy when it comes to computers so I uninstalled and deleted it within a couple of days and got NordVPN and everything has been fine. Just a heads up.
I got this card from the relic packs. But I usually buy 2019 Topps Series 1 MLB Baseball... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N7S6VT4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Check out topps website there are a ton of different packs and sets super fun
Stealthy was hit or miss with me. Enough so that I just gave up and purchased a VPN subscription for 50 bucks a year from StrongVPN. It's fast and easy to setup. I don't mind eating the 50 plus the subscription is like 3 months of cable. I'd say it's worth it.
Here's the view from some years ago from roughly that area
Sorry if a. the link doesn't work and b. the black and white, apparently I was dicking around with my camera settings that day.
It reminded me of my favorite (satire) article from the 4 Aces era: https://web.archive.org/web/20131117220728/http://www.phillygameday.com/2011/02/report-blanton-to-start-every-game-you-attend-this-season/
Well then there you go
(Yeah no idea)
You could use NordVPN for like $3 a month and login on your device but if you live in NM I’d guess you’d only need to worry about the Dbacks and/or Rockies so it’s bullshit
You can ask mlbtv via dm on Twitter and they do reply quickly.
There’s a really good book on all things A’s, Phillies, and the city. I’d highly recommend checking it out: here
This is from Howard Eskin’s podcast - you can listen to it here. https://player.fm/series/the-howard-eskin-podcast-1510922/former-phillies-nationals-of-jayson-werth
I listened to this last night...honestly it made sense to me when he said it! Not so much when it’s written like that.
I’m not a fan of Eskimo by any means but it was interesting to hear what Werth had to say.
There's no quick on/off switch, but there is a workaround for Netflix. Use their beta DNS instead of the regular ones. Log into your account then click on this link: https://unlocator.com/account/beta. This will let you do both MLB.TV AND Netflix without a problem.
If you refuse to use mlb.tv, or don't want to pay, use adblock plus. It is available for every major browser, and should eliminate all, or at least most of, the ads from streaming sites. I would still recommend mlb.tv over that though.
Received it as a Christmas present, but it's available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/MasterPieces-Philadelphia-Phillies-Panoramic-1000-Piece/dp/B00BWX03D8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=phillies+jigsaw&qid=1609939359&sr=8-2
Do you like baseball books? The Whiz Kids and the 1950 Pennant by Robin Roberts is one of my favorites. It's a blow-by-blow account of the best and most famous Phillies team for the club's first hundred years.
The Phillies Encylopedia is pretty good, though it is 10 years old now and doesn't really cover the latest World Series team. Here is the link Also the forward was written by Harry K.
