> Good evening, > > I am writing tonight because I am an embarrassed parent, tax payer and PPS employee. My husband and I work hard to teach our children to be open-minded, fair, just, and most importantly kind. The recent election and online activities of many of the progressive party's newly elected conduct is not only unbecoming, it's downright disgusting, rude and should not be tolerated. > > I am not political at all, but I know right and I know wrong. The tweets, the instagram and FaceBook posts are dividing a city that doesn't need dividing. We simply don't have the same racially charged issues as big cities, but we are creating them. We don't need to undo our educational system the way we are, we already have teachers who are teaching perspectives without alienating their students or their families. > > N. Sheikh-Yousef's comments are shameful. They are false and full of accusations and opinions. She claims she "is not apologizing, and is not resigning." The people of Portland deserve better. She is spreading hatred. S. Stewart-Bouley's tweets about sodomy, her hatred of white people, her covid pounds in relation to her breast size, all have zero place resting online for ALL to see and read. Somehow we are all supposed to relate to them? We are all supposed to entrust them? > > I am embarrassed for me, you and as an educator I am not sure how I explain all this to the middle schoolers I work with. My families would not tolerate such behaviors from me, nor should they have to. I work FOR them. These newly elected people need to do better. > > No one wants to hear my next words, but we all know that if the people saying these things were NOT people of color, they'd be done, gone and trashed. Please hold ALL people accountable for their words, not just those with whom we agree.
For all intents and purposes pretty much everything is "walkable" on the peninsula so I highly recommend going that route. West End and parts of the East End are going to be the best bets... there are some centrally located places on AirBNB but they tend to be in noisier areas in my experience. If you're coming mid-week that's less of a problem.... a place like this is gorgeous, but also directly next to one of the busier Irish pubs in town.
Actually it does explain the ramifications if you read the 50+ included in the fact sheet. Obviously reading anything is far too much work for you. I guess remaining blissfully ignorant is the path you'd like to take.
Your contempt for other human beings is quite obvious. You order being "inevitably" fucked up by the waiter. LOL.

Try reading a book for once. You'd be shocked how little you know.

seeing a note that the link is not working - this one is hopefully better. unsure how to change it (or if I can) in the original post! Public Survey Questionnaire
Yeahp, only a few that meet your needs =/
If this spot is available for your visit it looks like a good option on the West End that would be cheaper than 2 hotel rooms and a suite. The description says they have other large spaces available for up to 30 people as well, so it's worth inquiring.
Ride trashy bikes around town so if they get stolen you're not out much. For your nice bike buy an equally nice lock. I use this one and always lock it as publicly as I can.
Buy a key, open the top hatch, activate the machine manually. I did this a few years back and have saved hundreds of dollars. With what we pay for rent in this town the least we can get is free laundry!

My kiddo and I are the same height so I need to look around some more, for sure. And I know Amazon is terrible but I cannot transport a bike with my vehicle.
> Does that answer your question, or were you just being snarky and didnt really want a thoughtful answer? What have you done to make yourself indespensible lately?
Right. I was going to answer this yesterday.
This isn't about me. And it's not about individual indispensability, as if that's a thing when all jobs have become more precarious over the past five decades. While you want to keep the conversation focused on the individual, where you can use your well-deserved merit as a sledgehammer against the lesser, I'm talking about whole groups of people that include both the meritorious and the losers.
Again, there's a difference between helping the economy of Maine and helping the people of Maine. My focus is on the latter. Because, as the last five decades have demonstrated, helping the economy does not necessarily help all people, particularly those outside of it.
> Bold of you to assume I'm privileged and didn't earn my way. You don't know the half of what I sacrificed to gain this level of autonomy and independence.
I never assumed that, but okay. Regardless of your merits, a global tech consulting firm that hires 100 workers does not benefit the people of Maine. And I don't understand why acknowledging the costs, especially to others, is so hard to do. It's like you're blinded by your autobiographical narrative of hard work and sacrifice and by the ideology of economics that you refuse to understand the perspectives of others that aren't you.
I'm in a similar situation and I clear the check engine right before I drop it off. I picked up a bluetooth ODB2 device to read the codes, confirm nothing else is wrong, and clear the check engine light. Here is the one I bought.

When I moved up here, I met all my current friends through a group on MeetUp.com. There was a group for Craft Beer, which was something I didn't know too much about. Its a great group of people from all over the Portland area who come to chat over a beer or two. It's a great way to familiarize yourself with the city, along with try new beer and meet new people! The dude that runs the group now it great, one of my best friends, but I might take over for him soon since he's been less active ever since he moved to Biddeford.
Get involved in the community, volunteer, or generally take your interests and look for a local meetup using meetup.com, eventbrite.com, ~~Portland Phoenix~~ (sadly gone).

It is a web site/app that I would loosely describe as "Facebook for your neighborhood." That said, it is less people sharing photos of their pets, meals and grand-children and more about people inquiring about apartment rentals, second-hand furniture, handyman recommendations and things of that nature. Also useful for sharing safety information (e.g. alerting neighbors if there has been a break-in in the neighborhood, for example). For Portland, you can tailor it so that it shows you posts for the entire city or you can see just stuff that is specific to your neighborhood. You occasionally get posts where people are griping or posts where two or more people are in a pissing match over some inane issue, but my experiences with it have been mostly positive.

Have you tried setting up a Google Hangout video call and asking her to share her screen? You can walk through it with her and see what her options are and tell her to click on things as you go.
I use MaineOxy. I use a 20lb siphon tank and one of these hoses to fill the little tanks (no room to store 20lb tank in kitchen).
I recommend getting the biggest tank that you can as the dollar cost savings exponentially go up.
Selling like-new Phillips PH805 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones.
$100. Comes with case and all original accessories.
I have one of these compressors ($31 on Amazon) and it works like a charm. Fills from 20PSI to 35 PSI in about 5 minutes and I don't have to traipse all over on flat tires looking for an air pump.
