a) Read the manual. You just bought something expensive, so read it and have a general idea of what you need to do so you don't have to start digging every time you need to do something small. It will explain what the maintenance items are and on what schedule and basic instructions for how.
b) Get a tire pressure gauge like this (I just found this from a quick search on Amazon): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001XPBZ0/ref=psdc_15709131_t2_B0002SQYTG
Use it to check your tire pressure against what is on the door. Generally you want to check it while cold (hasn't been driven lately), but if you don't have a way to inflate tires at home, your owner's manual will probably say to inflate it 2-3 psi above if they're hot (been driven lately). A lot of gas stations have free air (like QT and Kroger Fuel in my area), but they don't always have a way to check pressure, so you should get a gauge.

My 2008 tC did not come with Bluetooth, but it does have a stereo minijack aux in, so I bought a cheap Bluetooth A2DP adapter on Amazon. Works fine. If you don’t like that solution you can always replace the head unit instead.

I got it on Amazon, I was going to get it from Andy's Autosport but it was to expense, plus shipping from Amazon is free.
Right, the OEM one only lights up the center of the strip.
I got a $50 replacement one on Amazon a few months ago. It's the full thing, not just the LED lights. The one I got is red all the way across (instead of silver like OEM) and lights up all the way across, so it's a nice little upgrade. Installation is pretty involved - requires taking apart a lot of the inside parts of the hatch, but not really technically difficult. I think I used a guide I found on youtube that explained each step.
Here's the brand. Disclaimer, I drive an XB, just wanted to give some input on brands and possible pitfalls. A friend recommended this one. As a bonus, Amazon allows returns if it doesn't work out: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XBZB74X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Af-xFb6ZFX78A not sure the size on '13 tC.

I moved across country with two bikes on my XD using a Saris Bone rack, and would highly recommend it.

I have this one for the XD and think it's great. I put my m9 on there and stays put. There's also a magnet type one if you prefer. It's holding up great hasn't fallen off. Had this for 8 months now

I was recommended this 303 Products on this sub so far I love it. I applied it once in my boot and still is shiny as the day I put it on. same with the pillars, but the dash usually needs reapplying every two weeks.
found it here:

its such a nice and mellow spoiler. i found a similar one with a break light but it doesnt look right. this one is perfect.
Yup, I basically back up into every stall to avoid hitting my lip on the cinder block. And you know you aren't supposed to go at a driveyway/speedbump head on right....? If you have been going head on, you're doing it wrong... Should be using your angles man! Geometry!
Went to the dealer for an oil change today and they notified me there's a recall that was just announced. Letters to be sent to owners soon.
Not necessarily a doorbell. It looks a lot like the switches/buttons you can buy for dirt cheap to do whatever you want.
I have one in my scion that I added to allow me to have it optionally turn on the rear window heater and side mirror heaters when I remote start my car.
Still no idea what it does here (clearly custom) but probably not a doorbell.
Count the number of splines, 6 or 7
Buy accordingly

I upgraded to this on my 08 XD and had zero issues. I think I was able to reuse the brackets from the factory radio (or whatever radio was in there from the previous owner). Huge upgrade over the factory setup that supports phone integration.
All good. If the wiring harness is still there you could try replacing it with another 12v socket that fits, aftermarket or the OEM: https://www.bamwholesaleparts.com/v-2008-scion-xd--base--1-8l-l4-gas/body--console (see part 19, 20 on diagram)
Or if you're fairly handy, you can use any existing harness or wire a new connection to driver side fuse box with one of these in place of where the 12v outlet should go. May sometimes require widening the hole. (I drilled a new one elsewhere on the dash with a USB C one, so sort of a third option lol) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GTZ89NH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_VZVSZM9X88WYDFYWDG12
This second option might not work for you if your GPS can't be powered by USB somehow. Good luck!
Please remember that the iA is not a Toyota/Scion vehicle, it's a Mazda 2 just with Scion badging. All they did was stick a scion sticker on it. Have you looked at the iM?
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/driving-the-surprising-scion-im-hatchback
It's just a bit bigger but still may not work for size. No matter what you choose, just remember that you will want to keep the car for at least the next 3-5 years. Keep that with some growth in mind.
Yep, that's the sub I have. I got that sub and this box from BestBuy when you could get the box for free. I have a old Dual 550W amp, though a buddy of mine got the Kicker 500W amp which also had a knob to control the output instead of turning down the bass through the radio.
Any thoughts on this one? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1147446915464100/
I'm just throwing stuff out there to try to get an idea.
I have a 2016 Scion iM so I don’t know if this is any help but I use this one and it fits my Scion perfectly. No drilling involved. AUXMART Universal Roof Rack
I used a magnetic phone mount. It was really the only thing that worked in my manual xD.
Yeah what did you "clean" it with so I make sure to avoid whatever you used. I used this and mine looks brand new still. I got my car in 2014 brand new
I have this dna motoring catback exhaust on my car. Sounds really good but a little loud on a cold start. Makes the 6MT way more fun and much easier to shift with rpm without staring at the tach. Car should’ve come with something louder from the factory imo it’s almost dead silent with the stock exhaust. Looks like the parts aren’t available on Amazon anymore but maybe it can be found elsewhere, anywho welcome to the Scion family!
I'll tell ya what I just did, I wanted the same exact thing xb but couldn't find it so by chance I looked around for just filter material and found this worked pretty well and what you get is huge for the price, it's just the right thickness and you can also put one of these on.
so far been working great even had enough to make 2 plus a filter for my 20 x 20 box fan.
i put the black one down first then the green one on top both fit perfectly in the filter frame.
The route I would try is calling local locksmiths and seeing if they're able to program an uncut, un-programmed key fob that you can buy online for ~$25. Ask what they charge, call multiple places for quotes. You might be able to get a $25 fob + locksmith fees to come in under $100.
You probably want to do more research than I did, but here's one that might work: https://www.amazon.com/Keyless-Remote-2011-2013-2008-2012-MOZB41TG/dp/B06Y2DN5XX
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078T6CQH3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share These spacers will fit the tC. As for lowering I'm on the TRD lowing springs and I like it. Im told that if you have those spacers and TRD springs that the tire won't rub the fenders.

Several tool companies may aluminum caps that both lock onto the 10 or so edges around the bottom of the cup and the “prongs” that stuck out of the cup Similar to this.
You’ll also need a 27mm socket and possibly a short extension and depending on how tight it is, a decent sized breaker bar.
Double check that that tool is correct for your tC. There are at least two different plastic caps and the tools don’t always work on the opposite caps.
I have a 2008 Xb. Had a similar issue where my ABS, Traction Control, and Check Engine lights all came on. A quick way to diagnose what's going on is to get an OBD2 plug that connects to your phone. I have an Android phone so I downloaded an app called Torque and bought one of these OBD2 plugs from Amazon. The app will scan your diagnostic systems and report back an error code. In my case it was my O2 sensor that was giving me the error code. O2 sensor is common, also things like mass air flow or knock sensors I would give you something like what you are seeing. Hope this helps.
are you talking about the grille?

for me, I just used zip ties because the stock ones broke.
If you want to do the cheaply and effectively, don't change the head unit. One of these bad boys should take care of all of your issues:
I haven't used this model, but I use their chargers and battery packs and everything works seamlessly. Their car chargers tend to charge faster than the usb port on head units.
Unless you got a head unit with bluetooth you'll have to install an add on. This is what I used in my '07 tc: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyota-Accessories-PT923-00111-Hands-Free/dp/B00BRL72DO
Installation is easy, it connects inline between your head unit and the harness. Every time you start your car it pairs up with your phone and since it's A2DP of course it supports music too.
according to this page it's a perfect fit for your '08 xB https://parts.toyota.com/p/Scion__TC/Blu-Logic-Hands-Free-System/69527320/PT92300111.html
>(hopefully good quality at that)
The only possible negative is that since it connects ahead of the head unit (by design to override the head unit's audio for calls) it uses its own amp and has no EQ. you control the volume with your phone or a simple rocker button that installs in the dash. Personally I think it sounds fine. It won't provide any heavy bottom end but it doesn't sound like a tin can either. If I were to rate it from 1 to 10 with 1 being tin can and 10 being thumpin' it's a solid 6 or 7.

For less than $50 after rebate, these AVS look great and let you leave the window cracked open in case it rains while parked somewhere.

Yes! Excellent! I have always wanted to do this. I was thinking of just doing it with like a 6" memory foam mattress instead of an air mattress (something like this perhaps). Got any more pictures?
The last time mine broke I JB-Welded it back together and installed a reinforcing bracket that I bought off eBay. It's held up great ever since even though the garnish is in iffy shape. Pretty decent fix for under $20.
Nice! Thanks for your reply. I have a friend who's a car guy and he says he'll take a look at it to see what can be done. If I choose to not go to a repair shop, I'd be more comfortable having my friend around since he'd probably know more than I do. Do you have a link to your scratch repair kit? I did a quick search and it popped up an amazon link for this:

Get a RAM mount. Worth the investment amazon
Nah I'm totally okay with running cable through the firewall. I've set up the sound system in my car so I've already done that for the power cable, I've also tapped into the clock for the remote wire for the amp. So essentially, find out where the fuse is for dome lights, (insert object always on here), plug in one of these bad boys: http://www.amazon.com/Littelfuse-FHA200BP-ATO-Add-A-Circuit-Kit/dp/B0002BGELQ and use the wire for power?
The hitch I bought for my '08 tC was a Draw-Tite Sportframe Class I Hitch, which I bought for $101 a couple years ago but as I write this is only $85.
I couldn't recommend this thing enough. It was not that difficult to install (just a matter of bolting one piece of metal to another—nothing unexpected that I had to cut, grind, bend, weld, etc.). Across the board its ratings (total towing load and tongue weight) exceed those of the tC itself, and it's ripe for all manner of Harbor Freight cargo carriers, bike racks, or even small utility trailers to connect to it.
I have loaded a 110 lb moped on a cargo rack on the Draw-Tite hitch several times before, and it was no problem. A couple of bikes would be even easier.
I would do a drain and fill. In my tC i used redline fluid. Go to the web site and put the cars info in and it will list the fluids they recommend. Then i went to amazon and ordered it. Free amazon shipping saves alot.
http://www.redlineoil.com/application.aspx
How much fluid you will need for the manual transmission should be listed in the back of the owners manual.
Edit- link to amazon MT-90 http://www.amazon.com/Red-Line-50304-Transmission-Transaxle/dp/B000CPCBEQ
You can grab one of these to clean up your aux and usb. It's what I used in my tc2 and it just snaps right into place in the factory usb spot. It looks completely stock and it's a 10 minute install.
I'm not sure about what could kill the coils - but you might consider picking up a OBD reader for your phone. Got android?. Then just a 10 dollar BT obd device from amazon.
