Were you hacked: Yep.
Date of hack: 6/1/2016, 3:25-3:55AM CST
TV Version: TeamViewer 11
Do you have a TV Account: Yep.
Is you TV Account email address listed as pwned: Yep.
Was 2FA enabled: Nope.
Is your TV Account Password the same as any other password: Nope. Randomly generated by LastPass.
Additional Notes: As I've seen noted by others in this thread, they seemed to have a very specific set of goals in mind. They first tried to access PayPal, but were unable to log in. They tried eBay next, still unable to log in. Next, they tried to log in to Amazon, where they were successful. They purchased 8 $100 Amazon gift cards going to a random Yahoo email address, before attempting one more time to log in to PayPal and eBay.
Luckily, Amazon is awesome. Their support cancelled all the orders they could (one had already been processed), then they refunded me for the one gift card that had been processed already.

Is your TV Account Password the same as any other password: the same , but not the same as listed on the pwned site.
Additional Notes: Two $400 gift cards were purchased from Amazon. PayPal access was attempted for purchasing gift cards from eBay, but was not successful. My bank and Amazon were notified. Cannot dispute one $400 charge due to it being listed as pending. The person also accessed Baidu to see where my ip address originated.

TeamViewer uninstalled on 10 computers connected to my account. Currently looking for alternative, may just go with RDC.
I personally use MalwareBytes and Avast. You can get them easily here: https://ninite.com/avast-malwarebytes/
That will download an installer to automatically download and install those 2 apps. Let me know if you need any more help.
You've been pwned son
Reset your password immediately
Run a scan using the free version of malwarebytes-anti-malware (heres a link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware/ )
Assume any service that you used the same password on is also compromised. Reset each of those services with new unique passwords
>Is the email address you used listed as breached/pasted on https://haveibeenpwned.com/?
Yes. Two breaches from over four years ago, and two pastebins (usernames/emails only in one, emails only in the other). The usernames/emails one was from 2015, the emails only one was from May 3rd. The paste gives zero context as to the source of the emails. None of the services or sites used the same password as Teamviewer (before or after the change).
>LinkedIn account with same email [as TeamViewer account].
No.

Is you TV Account email address listed as pwned: YES (according to https://haveibeenpwned.com/)
Was 2FA enabled: NO I enabled it after changing my password and prior to uninstalling to prevent account access just in case. Is your TV Account Password the same as any other password: NO
Additional Notes: I was at work and received a GMail notification on my phone/watch. Checking it, I saw I had a PayPal payment go through and two more denied (I only have a low limit card attached to the account). I immediately logged into my home PC via my tablet and was greeted with the Play Nice popup. I checked my paypal, saw the activity, reported it to paypal, reported it to my bank. According to the logs, they had access for 12 minutes. They had URLs to pre-loaded carts. They purchased a $100 digital itunes gift card, which was sent to my GMail account (and was not opened or accessed that I can tell). The two other charges did not go through because the credit limit was exceeded after the first charge. Based on the browser history, they never made it past paypal and I believe I interrupted them prior to any additional damage.
If you haven't already, I would sign up for this service: https://haveibeenpwned.com/
It's run by a man named troy hunt who will check massive data leaks to see if it's legit. If the leak is legit, he'll add to his already massive list of compromised emails and usernames.
You should try to check your email address(es) and username(s) to see if they have been a part of any breaches.
Just checking the username: keirjohnharry
I see that there was an account with this name on insanelyi. According to your posting history you seem to have an iPhone so I can only assume that this might be your account. If you used this password anywhere, you might want to change it since the breach leaked salted MD5 hashed passwords (Super Super Super insecure method for storing passwords). I would just assume that this password was compromised.
Edit: Fix ironic typo. Can -> Can’t. Wonderful.
Hi there. I'm a developer on Jump Desktop. If you have any questions about trust, let me know - and I'd love to address them. Generally speaking though, if you use our Jump Desktop Connect on the remote computer (https://jumpdesktop.com/connect), your connection is always encrypted end-to-end - so our servers CAN’T decrypt the connection. Anyway - let me know if you have any questions.
It has been like 5+ years since I looked into this but...

I mentioned these things in my first response:
Here's a link to Remote Desktop. Note that it doesn't take care of NAT for you like Teamviewer does, so you'll need a VPN or something.

Complete bullshit, fvck teamviewer they are full of shit!
Get the tool: TVTools_AlterID or setup virtual machines! Twice a year they reset all the connections, so fvckem'
Idiots don't even know how to program shit! Complete morons. Don't forget they too have been compromised in the past with shady stealing of ID passwords.
They can't get shit right at all. They can't even keep the correct version number on their d/l page. Do not trust these fools.
But yet they rake in the mega billions from all of these stupid corporations!
Indeed go with AnyDesk, join.me, Windows Quick Assist, WinVNC, UltraVNC, Mikogo, GotoMyPc, CrossLoop (does anybody remember CL, fucking idiots went down too), RealVNC, Logmein, Chrome Remote Desktop, etc.
It uses a geoip service to find the laptop WAN IP's country of origin. You can use a site like ipinfo.io to find the city, state, country, hostname, and organization who owns the IP. I guess TV does this for finding regional deals or checking restrictions.
oh, there were numerous attempts... Radmin is tested and used successfully worldwide by technology leaders, government and financial organizations: AT&T, Bloomberg, Bombardier, even NATO uses Radmin. Fortune 100 companies using Radmin: https://www.radmin.com/about/clients.php?clients_by_industry=&clients_by_region=&fortune100=y
If you have some basic networking know-how, NoMachine is probably the best option out there right now.
They are also supposedly working on a version of NoMachine that allows for connections in the same way as TeamViewer.
They also have a subreddit: /r/NoMachine
Just had this happen to me while I was on a trip abroad and needed access to important documents, so it's time to dump TV.
I'm testing out AnyDesk - so far the lack of address book in the free version is annoying (need to manually add each computer to every other computer, and need to save each PC's config file or will lose ID), the UI is clunky, and the iOS app interface is poor -- but it works, which is more than I can say about TV at the moment.
NoMachine looks promising. Currently requires port forwarding (if I were to do that, I'd just use MS Remote Desktop), but they're working on fixing that - so set up a notification, then will test it against AnyDesk when they add the feature: https://www.nomachine.com/FR07J02731
What i know nomachine is not just like vnc solution. It has a lot of features like disks, printers, usb devices, peer to peer network port forwarding that creates vpn traffic between client and server.
About current status of free version i need to note that it requires port forwarding but i hope that they will surprise us with the new product that i see it is in their plan: https://www.nomachine.com/FR07J02731.
let note that their enterprise products can be used in cluster, multi server, multi node environment to get high availability and perfect load balancing.
Additionally, NoMachine can be perfectly used to control Linux, Mac and Windows systems as well they have packages created for ARM CPU.
Okay I will look in to that. Thank you. For what it's worth, NoMachine is supposedly working on a feature that will make what I described here possible.
No VPN, though I have had installed for a long time another remote control app (AnyDesk) to evaluate. Thought maybe a conflict/overlap with their underlying systems, so tried uninstalling both of these (wiped registry and AppData traces that I could find), and reinstalling from scratch (default settings)... issue returned (CPU for just TeamViewer.exe hovering in the teens, with no connections) after idling overnight.
Similar setup (TeamViewer 13, Win 10, same AV/malware/etc) on several other machines, problem only present on this one.
Not seeing mention of this problem anywhere for other users, including TeamViewer's forums -- every other mention seems to be high CPU with the remote control executable, and only while connected.
Might just dump TeamViewer for now and revisit this in the future, though I will miss TeamViewer's two-factor auth.
I just checked out anydesk Reminds me a lot of teamviewer. For basic needs it is looking promising. Plus they have lifetime licenses as well as yearly that are actually reasonable. Hint for teamviewer if you want to go yearly it should be MORE cost effective yearly than a one time cost

Nothing about the email makes me think an account actually has been created at any point. Clicking the link probably would do that. As far as how did they get your email, go type your email in here and see if it has been in any hacks. https://haveibeenpwned.com/
There's a connections_incoming.txt file in program files. Look for any IDs that look abnormal (so if you see fifteen 12345678s and then there's a couple 33334444s in there, check if that's any of your devices)
check the https://haveibeenpwned.com/ for your TV account e-mail. A listing there doesn't mean you've been hacked but if your TV account is using same password, it greatly increases the chances.
Also think about if your TV account is reusing any passwords as this will increase chances of such greatly.
Lastly check your financial statements. Every indicator so far is these breaches are strictly trying to steal $$$ from people. If you don't have any rogue charges and can't find any indication of breach, I'd think you are okay.
Lastly, having TV installed alone should be okay as long as it's not running as a service (with unattended access enabled)

Teamviewer free is still very much viable. But in case free trials not available, then you guys may use tools like R-HUB remote support http://www.rhubcom.com It provides collaborative remote support sharing.
I have noticed that the teamviewer can detect if the computers are local. In case of the computers are local then it uses the local connection instead of the internet connection. Which is a lot faster and it has better performance.
At the moment i am using the teamviewer in order to have access to the https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/specials/idea/idea.html from my desktop, because this idea runs very slow on my laptop.
The only issue that i have with the ethernet cable is that i have fps drop. But it is very responsive.
I made a research and i found out that there is a cable called "firewire 800" which supports 6 gbps and there is a thunderbold to firebase adapter for my laptop so i was thinking to try this one.
What do you think?
Also why do you think that the connection speed in not related to the teamviewer performance? Doesn't it equal fastest connection speed == more close to 60fps == more close to real "mirroring"?
Have been using TeamViewer for years. Big fan with all the features that I hardly use. Just got hit with this timeout issue. I have only like a minute and will get kick out again.
I have no problem for company to make money. However, saying it is free for personal use but then take a away or put limitation against its words, that's annoys me.
Since I put NordVPN on, only TeamViewer can get pass that. I thought I stuck with it until I found an alternative - Chrome Remote Desktop. I have been on and off using Chrome Remote Desktop but now I am using it exclusively. It works on Mac, Widows and Linux (not 32bit Raspberries Pi) Limitations? Some.
No issue so far for me.
Hope that works for you or share if you have better alternative.
You need a dummy plug to put into the graphics card. I run a headless Ubuntu box hosting PLEX and I plugged a dummy HDMI into the machine and it works great over TV; although 99% of the time I just ssh in.
Here's one for reference on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/FREEGENE-Virtual-Emulator-Headless-4096x2160/dp/B0746HLHKM/ref=sr_1_4?crid=DJ5XXDJXB5UD&keywords=headless+hdmi&qid=1565281294&s=gateway&sprefix=headless+%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-4
Maybe this will help, let me know if it does.
Can you try to install the app from here directly: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.teamviewer.market.mobile
I don’t have a Chromebook myself so I am not sure if it works, but I am considering to get one, but it would be a bummer if TeamViewer does not work.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.host.market
Open the Host app and login to your Teamviewer Account (or create one).
You will get an email to confirm that the device is yours. Do that.
Open the Teamviewer app on your primary device from which you would like to control the secondary phone and try get access to the secondary phone (from the section 'My Devices' or something like that). You won't need to confirm the connection on the secondary phone from now on.
You could even uninstall the classic 'TeamViewer remote control' or 'QuckSupport' app on your secondary device since you only need access to it. It's only importat that the Host app is installed and logged in. It also starts by default when you turn on the phone. Also, you can get access to the secondary phone from any other device as soon as you login to your TeamViewer account. So make sure you have a strong password or even 2x authentication.
I hope that helps.
just found this post cus I have the same issue. I turned on NordVPN while on the the teamviewer connection and it instantly dropped the connection (duh)... and now my computer does not show up in my computer list so I can't reconnect. This is also a headless computer so it's a pain to get a spare monitor hooked up to fix. Sorry I can't help out with an answer!
