I made a track a month ago but didn't really know which subgenre it was in. I don't produce tech house regularly. A friend told me it was tech house. If it's not, please give me the correct genre for that.

I just produced it after listening to a lot of similar music in a friends car - he didn't know the exact genre of the music he was listening to either.

I'd like to produce another track in that genre in future, but I'm not quite sure it fits the genre well, so I'm always up for critique by frequent listeners from that genre.

There were originally like 160 episodes but the dude changed his style and scrubbed the Internet of most traces of them. Truly a loss for tech house nerds. Since Guy J's version only has an "interpolation of the hook/riff" from Ling's track, they must have been able to get away with it being a sample. Mark Knight and co. did the same thing.

Hey man, I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. A friend of mine was always telling me to start listening to Tech House, but instead I was much more into House and Electro House.

First off, let me ask you what's your current taste? Because if you're all about Electro Swing or Pop rock, I can understand that you might have a hard time with Tech House.

Now, if you're willing to give it a try, I think you should listen to the first Tech House mix I did.. I chose the songs while I was really not keen to record a Tech House mix. They're the songs that really grabbed my attention, so they might grab yours as well. As I was still learning to mix it, I didn't really let the songs play and transition long enough. For this exact reason, this might be good for someone who's trying to get into it.

One last thing, Tech House, imo, is not made to be danced to. It's something to keep you motivated while you want to relax. For example, I love to listen to tech house when I'm studying. Anyway, hope it helps. Let me know what you thought.
