Well, that isn't what optimistic nihilism is.
Its just sad that you embrace a philosophy that frees you from social expectations and grants you freedom, yet you use it to be regressive and justify murder and suffering.
Are you getting enough calories? https://cronometer.com/
And, if so, how many of those are "slow" (sugar = fast)?
> I‘m frequently passing out on the couch while mid hangout -sometimes litterally mid conversation.
Are you getting enough sleep at night?
There's /u/plantbasednative who might have something to say on this. Also Marti Kheel has written a pretty relevant chapter in this book which you can read most of in google books.
Also the whole controversy over Rod Coronado back in the 90s threw up similar issues. Best place to get into that is Underground #5
Also historically colonialism has been almost completely in the other direction - it's hardly like white settlers that went over were forcing indigenous cultures to stop eating other animals (of course the buffalo slaughtering had that effect but not for the same reasons!). The history of that region as far as I understand it is one of 'cattle complexes' and huge ranches taking over and expelling indigenous peoples, indigenous crops and other indigenous species.
Granted that's not really an answer, it's just a 'we're not the most coloanialist' but I honestly don't know how to answer
No problem! I'm far from an expert in this field, but happy to share what I know.
For encrypted messaging and VPN I'd recommend ProtonVPN & Mail because they're the most secure I've found, they intentionally base their servers in countries with strict privacy regulations in underground bunkers and they have an option of routing the traffic through their secure core server, plus they're the only VPN I know of that also includes encrypted email. I would recommend getting this as a first step, and then start downloading Tor only when you're connected to the VPN.
From there, run both services together, Tor is a browser and you can use it while still connected to another VPN. This way even if there is a node in the Tor system operated in bad faith they still won't have access to your IP address and all the information will be encrypted.
Once you have Tor, use DuckDuckGo (an anonymous search engine that doesn't use trackers) to search for the onion site for Freedom for Press (an onion site is only accessible through Tor and is more secure than a standard website). They have all the resources you need to take it from there.
I actually used the book Vegetarian Baby - while not strictly vegan, it includes TONS of nutritional info, along with common sources, has some recipes (not many), discussions about vitamin supplementation (pros v cons) and things like that. (Of course, my kids are 23, 16 and 14 now, so I hope it's still a good resource! lol its kind of all we had back in 1998 haahh)

Hope that helps!
Raddle is already better than reddit, and has a bigger community than Aether, but it's a centralized platform. To quote a raddle post : "Anarchists are sceptical of any platform being in the hands of a small group of people; even if they're other anarchists."
Yes, the team is anarchist, but there are still admin. The power is still in the hands of a few and while we can trust them to take decision based on consensus etc. it's not by design, just trust. And we know that usually, when there are hierarchies, it's difficult not to take advantage. I don't doubt that the raddle team means well, but it's far from a perfect solution. The same problem applies both for admin decision and for censorship : we trust them but team can change, and we need a solution that is non-hiercharchical by design.
Now don't get me wrong, raddle is REALLY cool, but far from perfect, so we have a few options here : change raddle (https://raddle.me/f/Anarchism/45647/decentralizing-raddle) but that's quite difficult, increase community size in Aether, or use both tools (which is not perfect but my favorite option).
Just my personal opinion tho, and I'm curious to hear yours!
