I used the Asics Gel-Rocket 8 (Volleycross) shoes, they work great.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N8X670B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Other than that, I wear basketball shorts and dri-fit shirts.
Ah yes! I would so appreciate the support!
These shoes are “fine” but I’d always recommend shoes made for the sport. There’s a lot of weird landing in volleyball so having shoes with some absorption is good ... also some ankle braces are an added support .
Mizuno wave lightning or VS1 are a great start
Check out some of the football shorts at Dicks/Amazon. I played Flag football for about 16 years before I switched to volleyball for my sports/competition outlet.
They are basically like compression shorts with some hex padding built in. Here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/TUOY-Compression-Protector-Football-Paintball/dp/B0177ED8LY/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1505736334&sr=8-11&keywords=football+shorts
I don't know if you'll be able to wear them in high school or not, but as I get older and want to stay active I'm always looking for ways to protect my body.
The Wilson OPTX is really popular for grass and sand. A lot of people (including the international community and FIVB) like the Mikasa. Personal opinion, i prefer the Wilson on the grass and the Mikasa on sand.
I don't know about the 1.5 ball but this is the ball that I use that I got for pretty cheap https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GTJKWA8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it's the Molten recreational ball. It may not be on par with the type of quality you're looking for, but it has been a pretty good ball for me (with both indoor and outdoor practice) so I thought I'd share.
> -I want to commit to play collegiate volleyball.
What year are you? I highly recommend getting started on this ASAP, especially if you are a guy because opportunities are more limited for men's volleyball. I wrote a book on how to get recruited for college volleyball. It's $5 on Amazon but it will help you tremendously with the recruiting process. If you have any additional questions, please shoot me a PM and I'm happy to help :)
I use armor1 ankle guards. It's this tiny pod that straps to the side of your shoe to prevent your ankles from spraining in the first place. They work pretty well in preventing sprains and they allow you to have full ankle mobility, which is good for recovering from sprains as well. The only downside is they'll make your shoes look ugly af, but they're a good conversation starter!

As a hobby project I just created a android app about jump training. So far it includes 3 different workout plans! Maybe they are helpful to you ;) -> Play store
I am one of the developers of a very simple scoring app which you can find here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nz.co.redblue.volleyball which might suit.
Some guys in Portugal are using it to do something similar in a stadium by using Andy Emulator on a computer attached to the screen and using an Android device to control it. You could also cast to the screen using a chrome cast or the build in Android casting if the screen supports it.
It's simply a web page that runs in an android web view so I could make it available online or send you the html file if that's easier.
In the USA gym, simplicity is the standard, Brazilian liberos, whoever it may be, is almost all touch, finishing the pass with the arms and hips moving towards the target.
I believe setting and trusting the angle is the best way to go but there are many times where your footwork isn't strong enough, the ball moves at the last second or maybe you just see a bad line and you will have to use a little more touch. I find this happening more often with float reception.
Trusting the line/angle: https://instagram.com/p/yruMrDqXB0/?modal=true You can see on this first pass where I was able to push off my right foot and step into the seem, tracked it correctly and just let the ball just redirect of my platform.
Extra touch: https://instagram.com/p/kfyuSfKXLa/?modal=true
So on this past, there was a tough line on the serve and my feet weren't there so I lunged hard to get to the line but the ball hit the tape causing a new line, being off balanced and falling away from it, I had to give it an extra touch to get where I wanted it to go.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions
I've been working on this a lot this year as the French League is known for a lot of tough jump floaters.
I try to establish quickly the line of the serve (where it's going to go) From there I want to get there as fast as possibly laterally and then I can decided hands or arms.
With arms I've been working a lot of taking a step back and opening up my hips for balls higher than my waist and it's helped a lot being able to adjust to the last second movements.
With the hands, it's just important to get the ball in your midline and to be in a strong, powerful position with your legs because all the power will be generated from there (not so much your hands) they are just guiding the ball. Check out here... https://instagram.com/p/yruMrDqXB0/?modal=true
Even though the ball is almost below my waist I still get my hips under and use my legs to lift the ball and the hands guide it.
Hope this helps. o/
I use something almost exactly like this for my beach lines.
OP: I'm in Canada I bought this one off amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000FPANH0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hey! I also live in Chicago and have an entire beach set up for this summer. I got my net from Amazon, but mines a little heavy duty and honestly is kind of a pain to set up (it has steel cables and I use ratchet straps), but once it’s set up it’s beautiful.
If you want a simple tie down net, I’d recommend the HD2 from here:
https://www.volleyballusa.com/volleyball-nets/beach-volleyball-nets/
Here’s the net that I bought. I love it because the top and bottom of the net get super tight with the ratchet straps, so the ball rolls off the net beautifully. But like I said it’s kind of a pain to set up because it’s heavy and the steel cables are longer than the width of the poles, so you have to wrap one end around a couple times.
Park & Sun Sports Regulation Size Indoor/Outdoor Professional Volleyball Net with Steel Cable Top and Bottom, Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009PVUR8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-iQmDb5YRQHK6
You can’t go wrong with either of those though.
Park and Sun is nice, but you want the Spectrum Classic. Those poles look super flimsy.
Fair warning, it's not going to be cheap. You get what you pay for with outdoor nets
In Germany we have a streaming platform for sports that don‘t get as much TV airtime.
If you get Zenmate extension or use Opera you can pretend you‘re in Germany and then it works.
I will defend my underhand serves. I know that it is not a good tactic and I can't use it much as I advance, but it is the only guaranteed serve that I have right now (well .. I missed one). I actually started the tourney by trying floats and such, but I have yet to get a good feel for the ball and I still hit it outside due to me being used to serving indoors. I will practice my serves for sure but I did not want to risk it in a tournament. I see the game kinda like poker and I try to play with the hand that I am dealt.
I agree with you on being more strategic and playing smart. That was really what got me into volleyball sport (after trying biking and running). I used to play videogames and I find it funny that I apply some of the same game theory concepts.
But yeah. It is funny that a lot of the things you mentioned were things I noticed in my games. Some teams started serving to my teammate (who is a bit hot-headed) and they were able to get in his head. I had to remind him to have fun and shake it off multiple time. I have my own ways of getting into other players heads without being a dick and I think I am good enough at ignoring their comments. It actually pump me up sometimes.
I did not get a lot of serves-passes because the other teams assumed that I am a better hitter (height). Which worked out well given that I was worse at receiving (e.g. no open hand passes rules). I have a lot to work on.
If you are interested, This guy wrote a free online book called "Playing to Win". It is pretty much "The Art of War" applied into videogames and chess. I am currently trying to apply those concepts to volleyball. I love breaking down the game and trying to find the best way to score points over being fancy and hitting the ball out. Here is an example of a dick player who sounds a lot like the guy you played :) http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/the-snakes
I agree with your way. With your blocker, you take away an entire half of the court with the other half open, but only with a weaker attack. Put a good passer on that and there is nothing to fear from their blocker. In Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" it even says that if you have many defending options, pick one and go with it, because if you try and take away all the options, you are weaker than any other possibility.
I think literally it was something like "Defend the left side, and the right side will fall. Defend the right side, and the left side will fall. Split your forces to defend both sides, and both sides will fall."
You wouldn't happen to be coaching in SoCal, would you?
I saw a link for an Android app here...not sure if that is helpful at all...but yeah when i moved to circle as a coach it was a big help.
Buy something like this (trust me it makes a huge difference) https://www.amazon.com/Jauntis-Bleachers-Bleacher-Portable-Shoulder/dp/B07TMPW2KN/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3K3XEY7B34VC&keywords=bleacher+seats+with+backs+and+cushion+wide&qid=1670084792&sprefix=belacher+seat%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-3
Not sure if it's what you're looking for but for AVP, we used these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082PY92XL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They were a lifesaver! Easy to inflate and compact enough to slip into a backpack.
I've had good experience with Mizuno baseball sliders. They're tighter and a little longer than volleyball kneepads and have a lower profile cushion. They won't provide the same level of impact protection as some of the puffier pads, but in my opinion they are way more comfortable and provide some decent compression as well.
I have seen people use something like this, but tape might be your best bet. I guess it is time to work on those bump sets for a bit if you cant handle the pain.
Hey guys i need a net less than 30ft wide.
I just need something sturdy but NOT regulation width.
I have most of the room on either side of the net but the width is my main problem as 30ft is pretty hard to come by.
I cant find anything thats 20-24 ft wide but also regulation height.
Shes 13, its her first year and we just need to practice drills, serving, volley, set etc..etc...
I bought this set from amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003DJKW9E?psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp
Its not here yet but I guess i can just pinch, tuck and wrap the pole around the net on one side? I dont want to ruin anything as it seems like its of decent quality.
I've been using this ball I found on Amazon which to me is great, feels like an indoor ball pretty much and I've been using it outside for months and it's still good.
As far as essentials, a ball's all you realllly need, especially if you have a wall you can practice against. A net can be really useful for practicing serves or practicing if you have a couple people. But a ball will do pretty much everything you need, if you're practicing alone (for the most part you'll want to work on your ball control) https://youtu.be/oC8_QCY8ZE0 this youtube video is the kind of drill you can do if you have a wall to practice against.
I've played in new balance for years and they hold up pretty well. You've just got to not get their base models.
These are the ones I use for grass since they get great traction: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXNYFKN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These are the ones I've been using for indoor. I typically play 2-3x a week (pre injury) and they held up for at least a season, if not closer to two years: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08F548LDT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Aluminum landscape rake. Flat on one side to level, rake in the other to clean the court of leaves/debris. $60 on Amazon, but I’m sure can be found cheaper.
Arms are a part of the whole motion, its in the legs. I studied this for a long time to help my HS daughter in vball, and have talked to a lot of different coaches from different sports to come to the same conclusion, although they didn't realize it until we compared notes. Sports like vball, high jump, box jump, sprinting all have the same basis. Sprinting is the best breakdown of it all, since you have the start phase, drive phase and then sprint. You have to look at the knees and what muscles they are using - the strongest ones to accelerate - forward or up. Knees outside the feet through those phases (slowly closing in to parallel) until the sprint. It takes some conscious training to do it right. Plus you want to land with your knees out for protection. You see most girls with their knees caved in as they jump. There are some good YouTube instruction on jumping too. I bought one of these for my daughter at a tourney to monitor her progress. https://www.amazon.com/Vert-VmonitorBlack-Wearable-Jump-Monitor/dp/B00SNQJDOW
I'll see if I can post a video of a 13 y/o that was doing 36" and he has perfect form. Good luck!
Look into protective face masks. Its one thing to be scared of a hitter as is. You have legitimate reasons to be scared. Google throws out something like this:mueller face mask
Hi guys,I am a setter and i want to pracitce at home ,I have all of equipment but i cant afford this thing (its 500$ with shipping to my country),and I think its crazy to pay that much. Can someone give me a tip to make this at home? Any suggestion will help
Hihi, was wondering if this would be a good starter volleyball to train indoors with:
I bought it off amazon.mikasa v200w
If you'd like to fully understand what makes volleyball such a fantastic sport, neither watching games nor reading up on the rules are going to get you there. All the strategic angles, moment-to-moment tactics and considerations, and incredible excitement really requires understanding what it's like to play volleyball. To that end, I'm going to share with you the thing that got me completely hooked on the game and changed my life:
https://www.crunchyroll.com/haikyu
It teaches you the sport and, most importantly, it shows you why people who play feel so passionately about it.
I bought the ball in the attached link and it doesn’t fee like the ones we have at training.
The model number isn’t 300 so how else can I spot if it’s authentic.
MIKASA V200W https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S5PH3H9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_03T95QSBBJBH28C7V6SH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Hi, don't worry, no problem, all the comments are very useful for game developer, the videogame mustn't be forced to be good anyway, uVolley it's a new approach to this videogame genre.
You are right about the player control, all my friends remind me everyday to improve it, I have tried different mode but at this time I haven't found any good solution. In the next update I will improve a little bit the player control by remove the player rotation on forward diagonal moving and move the player diagonal, any other suggestions on better player control are very appreciated.
You can get uVolley from Microsoft Store at https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9P5GJQXZL1BQ , this works both on XBOX ONE and Windows 10 but on XBOX ONE the videogame can't get the full power of the console due to my developer license.
You can also download uVolley from Steam at https://store.steampowered.com/app/1360040/uVolley , in this case the videogame works on Windows 7/8/10 at full power and in the next update (maybe next week) I will add the ONLINE multiplayer feature called LOBBY, a Steam peer to peer that can meet a maximum of 12 players to play together a match on uVolley like ESports way.
If you can try to make another video on uVolley to show people how to play the videogame, if is possible by using PC instead of console (with reflection option enabled), uVolley works also in VR device, thank you a lot Cheers...
Nick
France doesn't get so much fresh produce, it's still a good amount but compared to Brazil in the summer and So. California in the summer I am at times limited.
I have a lot of bananas, smoothies are a big part of my day, I'll start with one in the morning, bring one with me to drink after my lift. Then for afternoon training, I will usually bring two big canisters with me as I'll have 3/4, 1 during training and 1 after to quickly recover. Usually I'll do a green smoothie or a berry smoothie. Sometimes for lunch i'll do a cacao, almond butter, banana, protein smoothie with my salad.
At time, I'll usually do a big bowl of rice/quinoa, beans/lentils, cooked veggies (zucchini, sweet potatoes, green beans, onions) usually on top of that i'll do a home made salsa and throw an avocado or two on there. Huge bowl, tons of food and i'll usually cook the veggies with cumin, sea salt and a little pepper.
Looks something like this. https://instagram.com/p/vjD8HcKXB3/?modal=true
I just answered my own question. A friend told me about windscribe which is a VPN and ad block browser extension. Link here https://windscribe.com/
I added it to my browser and connected through Germany and now I can watch the games on the beach stream
Is it grass? I got this for outdoors (expensive AF but we don't have to run, and when next to a 'canyon' the ball doesn't drop down into the stream)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QQYN8NY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I can tell you with absolute certainty that you will spend far more time-value in money doing this for the cost of materials plus labor than you would buying the top-of-the-line Spectrum Classic net for $250.
Does not seem worth it to me in the slightest.
Well, for balls this is the official indoor ball for most leagues in germany. Otherwise just google search "official (beach-) volleyball" (if you play beach)
Is the Flistatec volleyball on Amazon with the brand molten the same as the one on the molten website. Only reason I ask is it’s on sale and 40 bucks cheaper.

Bayco K-150 Cord Wrap,Orange, 15 In. x 15 In.
This is just one of the first ones I found when I searched; there are tons of things like this. Probably 3 or 4 choices at you closest hardware store.

This one is on sale it seems. It's a very good volleyball
You can buy things to role the lines in an orderly manner for easy transportation. If you get the lines with buckles, you can split them in two and wind each half onto an extension cord winder like this one. It just takes a couple minutes to do it nicely.
You only need 4 stakes.
Stakes should be buried so that they stay in the ground and people do not step on them or dive on them.
I hate thin lines because I can't see them during play. Think lines ae easy to see when attacking, so you know where the court is.
But you do whatever you want.
Here are 1/4" rope lines and disc style line anchors.
I've heard of these, haven't purchased yet- but will probably for the coming season. The toe design might help keep things cooler (I personally hate the 1 pocket sock design)
You can hand wash to keep the smell away, regular soap should be fine. Never wear socks underneath unless you're playing in cold conditions. Maybe get some gold bond powder for your feet, too.
Guys, I would appreciate it if you could find if this is fake or not please, thank you.
I’m sorry to say, but it’s not. The official flistatec ball isn’t smooth, it has hexagon grip marks, and would say fivb approved. This is an official ball.
Hey guys
So I am planning on buying the mikasa v200w from amazon but I want to know if its real or not. Heres the ball
From Middle Blocker to Middle Blocker, this is the best shoe imo. I have no problems with slippage, just make sure you hand wipe them every rally or so if you are on wood floors. Ankle support is okay, might want to brace up if you are prone to rolling your ankle. These babies are light as heck, and they are super responsive, it is easy to change directions at a moments notice and landing feel very firm and secure.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDL2F8K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WAkOFb9JE9AJD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I don't know but on Amazon's site, they have some user photos of the serial:
If you look here at the user pictures:https://www.amazon.com/Molten-V5M5000-Official-NORCECA-Volleyball/dp/B0035GO7UU/ref=pd_lpo_200_t_1/134-1536485-0072837?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0035GO7UU&pd_rd_r=15882f4c-dfda-4f75-b358-5381af36cc4a&pd_rd_w=k5f5O&pd_rd_wg=ltC5w&...
You'll see what fakes look like. The ridges on the hexes are way different and crappy.
Just piggy backing on what everyone else is saying. Staying on the balls of your feet help you be more springy. My recommendation is focus on footwork with no digging. Try using a reaction ball. Helps you stay active and move to your target. Once you get comfortable with your footwork, then proceed with digging.
Hi everyone, myself and my friends have been getting into volleyball recently and I hoped we could get some advice on a decent portable net with poles to purchase. We're in Canada and the two we've been checking out are this one and this one. The second is more expensive but seems sturdier and has height adjustments.
I'm sorry if this is inappropriate, but if anyone does have any feedback that would be lovely!
I use a mikasa fivb game ball as my “beater” ball, it’s lasted me a while now
Here’s a link

Thanks! I’m looking to get a camera but I only have ~300$ and saw the canon eos 5000d on Amazon here is the link, I was wondering if it was any good for sports or taking cinematic shots
Those might be foam balls... The one I'm talking about is a real ball, just smaller. Here's the one I have: Molten Wettspiel Volleyball klein 135 g Ball, Weiß/Grün/Rot, Durchmesser: 150 mm https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0037KLRBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bjL2DbNXJPRRK
To my fellow American millennials and cord cutters:
isn't available in 'Murica. Neither is :( I haven't found a good free proxy, extension, etc to allow me to watch either of these. :/ Any suggestions? There's definitely ones you can pay for, like ExpressVPN...
has a 14 day trial, and it appears to include the Olympic Channel. Just remember to cancel before the auto-subscribe occurs.
also has it, but it appears you need to first purchase a monthly plan ($15/mo), then include the Additional Sports Package ($7, I think), to get the olympic Channel. Which is still cheaper than the $50/mo of YoutubeTV. Might be able to get a free trial on there as well for a week or two.
Any other suggestions or thoughts?
I've had a different version of these bad boys for years, and nothing else has come close. They are ugly as sin, but it's like god designed them from scratch for sand volleyball. They grip, and they're flexible, and no blind spots where the frame is.
I paid $9 for them at a campground because I forgot my sunglasses one time.
I think it really depends on what you've been taught/done out of habit. I tend to receive easy high floaters with a volley, but if it's a hard driven floater or a top-spin serve, then I'll pass with my platform. Even so, 90% of the time, i'll pass with my platform just out of habit. If you want to control your forearm passes a bit more, practice passing angles, raise your shoulders up and squeeze your forearms together (you'll find they'll be a little closer if you do this vs. without hunching your shoulders up).

I'm pretty sure you can buy like 60 rolls of finger tape on amazon for like 15-20$ maybe?
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0001DK4QQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- its 0.5" that's for fingers
Hey,
The fact that you know where you need improvement on is a great start. Severing for any volleyball player is always a truggle in the beginning. Practice practice and more practice. I seen a great serving volleyball ball aid call Ace Pal. (Link Here) No need to chase the ball around. At times when you serve the ball, it how you throw the ball in the air before the hit. Make sure your arms are straight and your hand is in the position you will like it be.
-Good Luck

Well, I did some more research and found that we are supposed to be following the sub rules but the coach I was working with lost track of who was where. This means I think the Volleyball Referee app will work out for us after all.
For anyone else that needs a lightweight way to jsut track rotations, subs, timeouts, etc, check it out.

When I started out I liked this one the best.
I haven't played indoor in a few years but they Mizuno Olympic ball was my favorite, but it's like $60 or more, and it's love or hate with rec players.
Ultra zoom is more comfortable and better range of motion than Active Ankle. I never liked the lace up kind.
Ultra Zoom Ankle Brace, Black, Small/Medium https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IUIJY7O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_CpiPAb80HRASB
Hey mate,
I have Jumpers Knee since I'm 15. I told my parent about my knee pain, they gave me medications and kept pressuring me to keep on with the practice, and obviously it didn't worked at all.
Now I'm 22 and this shit is far from gone, hopefully I came across a book from Martin Koban and my legs feel a bit better.
PLEASE don't keep playing like you do
My area uses the Spalding KOB for the majority of the time, but definitely check with your area. If your community prefers the Wilson AVP ball, nobody will want to use the KOB even if you buy it.
Also, make sure you're getting the real balls, not replicas. The price point usually tells you which is which
My daughter has these and loves them. Says they grip the floor awesome.
Momentum while setting is everything. Absorb the motion wth your arms. I found a great product called Ace Set on amazon. He help me learn how to place my hands and I started to get comfortable while setting. Give it a try. I think its like 13 bucks. Worth every penny in my opinion Here the link https://www.amazon.com/Volleyball-Training-Strap-Setting-placement/dp/B073RNQ61D/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1516651917&sr=8-3&keywords=volleyball+setting
I always recommend this everytime this question gets asked because it's served me so well with no downside. Taping is good but wastes tape and takes too long. The thumbguard is easy to put on and mine are still going strong after two years. Check them out.
I rock a 10.5 2e size. But the harden vol 1 have been in an 11 have been the best shoe I've ever played in.
Buy them and wear them. I used to think bruises and such were a badge of honor, but as I get older, I want to preserve my body so I can play more and play longer. I unabashedly wear kneepads and football shorts, and knee and ankle braces when I'm sore.
I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FAOHC2Y/ and like them.
Aircast A60
For the record, I don't play vball. I'm a tennis player and I'm a little aggressive on the court, so I need ankle support, at the very least, for confidence. I've tried a bunch out, and these are by far the best. Definitely on the pricey side, but I love these because they are the strongest and quickest/easiest to put on out of anything I've tried. Highly recommend. Also used by Andy Murray (tennis player, among a few others)
this will help you train to be faster
https://www.amazon.com/Champro-CBBRB-Reaction-Ball/dp/B002N4R56S
and so will ping pong / table tennis
after that it is just hours of muscle memory to recognize how hard someone hit at you and to get your platform set quick and straight
Don't think so. Looks too shiny on the black portions and doesn't have the correct logo on the bottom portion.
We have this one by Park & Sun and live near the beach. It is very nice. In sand you need really good stakes, the little tent stakes don't hold in sand.
This was asked on this sub before, and as per recommendations then, I bought Salomon Speedcross 3's. They are amazing! They are lightweight, I love the lace system, and the tread is awesome. The downfall is that the 3's are now replaced by the 4's. You can still find a couple of the 3's on amazon. The 3 and the 4 are the same shoe from what I gathered, but they have changed the fit to be more narrow. I have a wide foot so that isn't good for me.
I don't understand how people think that you have better traction playing barefoot than with shoes like these. The sole is rubber, so these aren't "cleats", should be good for any tournaments.
I wear these Asics, very comfortable.
I also have a pair of UA shoes, might be these. Less comfortable because they're tight/narrow, but because they're higher I feel more support
I buddy tape my left pinky to my left ring finger ever since I broke the pinky in three places one game a year ago. I use thin 1/2 inch medical tape: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058UYALC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1
My fingers are sized such that I can tape the middle segment of the pinky to the bottom segment of the ring finger, and the top segment of the pinky to the middle segment of the ring finger, avoiding the knuckle joints of course. I tape in such a way that I can still move my pinky finger and inch or so, but any more than that the tape will stop it. The nature of my injury was that the pinky was pulled out (separated) from the ring finger until it broke, and this setup prevents that from happening again.
Interesting. So are 2016 rio olympic balls for example the same size as the slightly larger international balls?
edit: I believe it's this ball, but I'm not sure what "size 5" means or if all "size 5" balls are exactly the same size: https://www.amazon.com/Mikasa-MVA200-2016-Olympic-Yellow/dp/B001F51TYK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485032149&sr=8-1&keywords=mikasa+rio+2016
I think asics and mizuno makes shoes within your price range, ie:
I know this section is old, but for something like this https://www.amazon.com/Club-Volleyball-Gear-VST-100-Trainer/dp/B004IWKOPM What material would you recommend the "string", They use elastic rubber bands, which deteriorates in sunlight, So I dont want to use that - Thanks Edit: Also, I'd like to hear your progress on the spike training system (And the total cost of it)
When you wear these you wont need the active ankles anymore
edit: Sorry, reread and noticed you probably were asking about a net system, not a net. We have an old Senoh (Sports Imports) as that was the top of the line at the time. Not sure about now.
We ordered two nets last year from a no-name brand. The top cable snapped the first time we put it up.
I looked earlier this season for nets on Amazon. The only one I could find was this one from Champion Sports:
Note that it ships in 1-3 months.
We wound up ordering Senoh net for $400. Yeah, ouch.
I recently purchased this for all the indoor volleyball I'm playing this fall. It's great! Fits a ball, size 8 shoes (with plenty of room to spare), and some towels and clothes.
Never tried it but they seem a bit low around the ankle. If I were you I'd pair it up with some sort of ankle stabilizer
I had jumpers knee and needed a strap to finish off my season. I ened up getting one of these which was awesome https://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Jumpers-Knee-Strap-Orange/dp/B000F5SXJA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1474167425&sr=8-3&keywords=jumpers+knee
I personally like a backpack, but for you I'd go with a duffel/gym bag. Nike has some pretty good ones, and I always advocate for Mizuno because they're my own favorite brand.
My old club uses this duffel: https://www.amazon.com/Mizuno-Bolt-Duffle-Grey-Black/dp/B01449G7WC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1475066243&sr=8-2&keywords=Mizuno+duffel+bag
You know what bro, I am not 100% sure. The last tournament I played in I was told that that they will switch to the AVP one because things changed. I play BB or A so I don't care much. I will double check and let you know in the future.
For amazon, if you are talking about this, then yeah there is a different between the two balls (gold vs the yellow printing). I bought that same one and got the yellow printing. I think they both are just listed together because they have the same UPC?
I played on this net yesterday and it was actually really great. I have the Spectrum Classic by Park and Sun. Then net at Costco is Not as good as the Spectrum classic. (but it's also $190 cheaper).
If you want a quality net, and aren't going to be shelling out over $230 any time soon, I highly recommend this net. I can't believe it's only $70 after the discount. (It comes with a shitty ball, and you might want to go to Home Depot and buy a few flat head nails so you can hammer the net into the ground. Other than that I was very impressed by everything in the bag. Note: the poles are steel instead of aluminum, thus it is heavier the the Spectrum Classic
This had bothered me depending on the sand I was playing on. I started using these for a couple of weeks and the pain went away.
I tore my ACL playing indoor and am on the way to getting back, I am about 80% but suffer a lot of swelling in my knee. I bought this Bauerfeind and have 0 pain while playing/running/lifting. I highly suggest it if you can afford it. It's not too limiting but offers a good amount of support. Make sure you measure correctly and get the side that applies. They make one for left knee and one for right knee.
Ya I saw that company and I think this is acceptable. The holes seems small enough and I might get the cement buckets idea going if needed :)
Any idea what the difference is between that one and this? It seems to be the same material but $100 less. http://www.amazon.com/Park-Sun-Tournament-Flex-Volleyball/dp/B00C87VSFO/ref=sr_1_4?s=team-sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1456714872&sr=1-4
update: Nevermind. I found a website for that. Basically a thicker pole and better net. That price on amazon is kinda crappy. http://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/volleyball-nets-comparison-chart.html
I'm assuming then that the SV5WSC, aka not the gold (such as http://www.amazon.com/Tachikara-Sensi-Tec-Composite-Performance-Volleyball/dp/B000GC7BKY/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1456240233&sr=1-1&keywords=tachikara) are among the plastic-feeling ones then?
What about these Mikasas? http://www.amazon.com/Mikasa-Micro-Volleyball-Royal-Black/dp/B0039O7KSE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1456239617&sr=8-4&keywords=mikasa+volleyball
